“Ordered takeout, grilled bulgogi plate was delicious. Full disclaimer: i used a gift card, which took $15 off the price.. so part of my pleasure is in getting a huge discount AND Grubhub was offering a “7 free potstickers with purchase of Bulgogi plate”. If I’d spent $22 on just the bulgogi plate I’m not sure I would be as pleased or be writing this review… but as it was, my particular situation and price? Superb! Did come with a side salad.. decent portion of bulgogi … but like I said I paid seven bucks“

“This is one of my favorite places to each lunch, a great place to meet a friend, and the friendliest service you can imagine. I wish more restaurants focused on doing one thing well and being deeply authentic in vibe and presentation. After today's visit I felt compelled to write a review because it sparked true joy. This is a meal that you end up thinking about - sometimes DIRECTLY after eating it. You should probably go - there's bike parking directly outside, and it will be something you enjoy.“

“The husband and I were on a ramen rampage, and the weather was our perfect excuse. Then, out of nowhere, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The service was spot-on, the food arrived in record time, and that ramen? Sheer perfection. The broth was a flavor bomb, the chashu was tender and divine, and those noodles? Freshly made and sublime. We left feeling like we just discovered ramen nirvana.“

“Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. I look forward to any trips I take across town from Vancouver to Tigard, and make a point to stop in and grab a bite.“

“This place is one of a kind. The food was deliciously balanced and nuanced. Every dish we indulged in was so wonderful. It is a charming intimate spot and will be a go to whenever we visit Portland. The staff was also wonderful and so accommodating. Thank you again for the wonderful experience“

“Definitely fresh food, prepared and cooked after ordering and not microwaved or nasty food you'd find in most places these days but thats why its so expensive. Id say thats the only thing is because it is fresh and its fish, its very expensive. Unfortunately, that makes it to where we couldnt afford to go very much. This is food id get if I wanted a great japanese food experience, eat raw fish thats exceptional, fresh and safe. Id trust this place to eat this type of food here cause of how its prepared and the people look serious here too. The young lady up front was sweet and the place has minimal seating but thats ok. You can also eat outside. Thank you for a good experience with raw fish, I absolutely enjoyed it.“

“I love musubi and this place does not disappoint! They have a variety but we always walk by in the morning so I get the one with egg. Today, we also got the taiyaki - one with cheese and one with Nutella. They were both soooooo good! I had the one with Nutella and it was so good, nice and warm with a crispy exterior. Aaaaaaand we had a slice of banana bread. Again, delicious and I am a banana bread snob. Highly recommend visiting!“

“So excited to have another place with vegetarian and vegan sushi in the area! The sushi was good. I do wish they would label their menu so it’s easier to know what appetizers/non-sushi items are vegetarian — there’s a ton of stuff that seems vegetarian, but it’s always hard to know if they’re using sauces or seasonings that have fish.“

“Everything. This is not just going to dinner. This is a dining experience. It’s a small reserved venue. Yes it’s spendy, but worth every penny. You’ll try food you never thought you try. The mostly seafood menu it so well prepared. Plus you can watch the prepared each course. A fun night.“

“The food was just ok. Too much rice around the rolls. It was almost all rice. We ended up picking at each roll to take out the rice. Spider rolls and tempura was not crispy. Service was ok. Waiter was came and asked if I wanted more water, but never came back. Our two dishes were $45. Probably will kept go back.“

“Lilia is an absolute gem and my new favorite Portland restaurant. The menu changes weekly based on the freshest ingredients, and every dish bursts with bold flavors and inspiration from across Mexico. The vibe is chill and the staff are sweet and knowledgeable. Music was great (rock en español) and not too loud, so you could have a conversation at your table without yelling (yay!)
We tried the chef’s tasting menu, which included two appetizers (PNW oysters and tomato/melon salad, two large plates (mushroom barbacoa & cheese-filled corn dish and king salmon which was caught that morning) and two desserts (fig pastie and a creamy Asian pear). We also got the carnitas chilaquiles separately—highly recommend. Each dish was beautifully prepared, incredibly tasty, and unforgettable. The wine pairing ($68 per person) was thoughtfully curated and well worth it, and the cocktails were just as impressive.
Can’t wait to go back!!!!“

“Quaint no frills Japanese restaurant serving home made udon. You must come during lunch hours and try the Teisho lunch set which offers a rotating fish dish depending on what's in season alongside an assortment of side dishes including sashimi. The quality of food here is just as good if not better than what you can find in Japan and don't forget to get a pint of Kirin on draft served in an ice cold mug. The waitresses are also very kind and will make sure you feel welcome and enjoy your meal.“

“My experience at Kokiyo Teriyaki in Central Eastside, Portland, was an absolute treat, and I can’t recommend this hidden gem at 1234 SE 7th Ave enough for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Japanese comfort food! Nestled in the vibrant Industrial District near OMSI, this family owned spot delivers a cozy, welcoming vibe paired with mouthwatering dishes that keep you coming back.
I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with Gyoza combo, and it was a revelation. The chicken was perfectly charbroiled, tender, and coated in their signature homemade teriyaki sauce that strikes the perfect balance of sweet and savory: truly some of the best teriyaki I’ve had in Portland! The gyoza were crispy yet juicy, and the steamed rice and fresh veggies rounded out a generous, satisfying plate.
I also tried the Honey Chicken, recommended by a loyal patron, and its subtle sweetness was addictive. The menu offers variety, from yakisoba to spicy pork bulgogi and even a unique burger special, all at wallet friendly prices.
The service is a standout: warm, genuine, and attentive. The staff, led by new ownership that has elevated the quality while preserving beloved recipes, greeted me with smiles and made me feel like a regular, even on my first visit. The restaurant is impeccably clean, with a charming, no frills atmosphere that feels like a true neighborhood spot. It’s perfect for a quick lunch or takeout, and they even offer delivery for those cozy nights in.
Located in the heart of Central Eastside, Kokiyo Teriyaki is a must visit for its delicious food, stellar service, and unbeatable value. Whether you’re a teriyaki purist or just exploring the area, this spot will leave you full and happy. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try the Hot and Spicy Chicken plate!“

“if you want to eat fish, they have fish and definitely don't skimp on the portions. If all you care about is the food tasting good and its reasonably priced and good portions, this is the sushi spot. If you want your food to look fancy and be expensive then i would recommend eating elsewhere. I'm not saying the sushi looks bad, sometimes the rolls are a little sloppy and fall apart. I love unagi and i love dragon rolls. Do NOT order the dragon roll here it makes me sad. Their salmon is really good though. Would recommend the spider roll.
Side note:
4.7 stars on google with over 900 reviews! that would make this one of the best sushi shops in the Portland area. There are some restaurants that have 4.8-5 stars but significantly less reviews.“

“I used to eat here alot over a decade ago while attending PSU and the food and service was always amazing. A very kind lady used to run it. I was in the area handling some permitting and stopped by once again. I was surprised to see her son still running it and decided to get a plate. I absolutely recommend you try this place 100%! Great friendly service, plenty of parking, great food at a great price...the prices are almost the same as 15 years ago! The food is delicious, comes quick, big portions, and overall an absolute must eat when near the area. You won't regret it!“

“Stopped in on a whim for lunch, and ordered the Kaizen and Salmon Aburi rolls, Sunomono, Gyoza and hot green tea.
The staff was really kind and attentive, the majority of the food was great. We had one roll where the tuna was not really tender and had some sinew in it that made it tough to eat (that's why we can't give it 5 stars), but the roll it was in had good flavor.
We will definitely give them another try.“

“A medium sized izakaya Raman shop perfect for an informal dinner.
The three appetizers we had were pretty good, the karage was crunchy and juicy on the inside. What the breading lacked in flavor the zesty Mayo made up for in character. 7.5/10
The ramen was served with excellent portions and at a normal Portland price, about 15 bucks before add-ons. I always add on an egg for good measure. My wife and I both ordered the signature ramen on the menu and it was good, somewhat mild in flavor but still rich. You can tell the tare is made in house and with care. 7.5/10
The service was excellent, considering the price and atmosphere of the restaurant. Wait staff were attentive in picking up plates that were used and quickly serving food. 9/10
The ambiance is nothing to write home about, this isn't a dining experience, this is your local delicious ramen spot. Now Beyonce was frankly unremarkable and that's okay. 6/10
All in all, if a friend wanted to check it out or wanted to eat there, I'd happily oblige. But I've got my own ramen spot closer to my house that I enjoy more so I won't be returning regularly.“

“I love sushi avenue it is my favorite place for sushi!
The food: The hurricane roll is my favorite and they even let me order it without being fried although it's absolutely delicious either way. Please note they are very accommodating just explain if you want something changed up save on the side, extra sauce , no cucumber ect. Just adk. Two other rolls I like are the Canby and wilsonville.. really it comes down to what you like their fish is good! Also bonus if you have someone who doesn't like sushi they have a really good dish called creamy chicken yaki udon noodles and is so yummy! It's thick udon noodles and chicken in a creamy sauce with vegetables: cabbage, onions, broccoli and mushroom (I might be missing a vegetable or two). They also have teriyaki chicken and other non sushi options! They do have a kids menu they have the options of sushi or bento with chicken teriyaki. Kind if limited options for kiddos.
The restaurant: One thing I will say is that the entrance area is pretty small, but dine in is usually doable, and of course you can always get it to go. It's in a strip mall and is just a small business nothing fancy here but delicious food!! Easy parking they do have a parking lot. 😊
The service: It is great! Nice staff and reasonable wait time. You will not find your water glass empty here! Also they are very kind if you want a roll made a certain way they are so kind and accommodating!
Pictures will be added next time I go!! Cheers!“

“Small place with absolutely delicious food. Good portions for what you pay. The young lady working the counter was super cheerful and kind. Will return!
Kid-friendliness: My daughter was with me (9 years old at the time) and loved it.
Wheelchair accessibility: Doesn't have an automatic door that I noticed, but it is on the first floor and the door is wide enough to handle a wheelchair. The counter and several tables are lower to the ground, so the whole thing overall is pretty accessible as long the person in the wheelchair can handle opening the door.“

“While we did pick-up, we were in and out in the time they had said it would take. Where we live we don’t have a lot of teriyaki joints to eat at. This is one I said to my wife we need to come back to next time we’re visiting. The chicken and sauce are 🤌🏻. My leftovers were as good the next day as the day I had them. It’s worth going to.“

“We ordered sushi burritos from this food cart, which had recently increased their prices by $5. We were hesitant to order at first, but we caved because we were craving them and one of us had never tried them before. The service was great! They were out of chicken, but they offered to make us a custom burrito for a small upcharge. However, they later found that they had enough chicken after all, so we didn't have to pay extra. The wrap itself didn't hold up very well. It came apart a few times, which made eating the burrito a bit messy. The seaweed didn't wrap around the sushi fully, which also contributed to the messiness. The parchment paper was also a bit weak, which made it difficult to hold the burrito together.Overall, the food was delicious and filling. However, we don't think it's worth the new price of $15 for a food cart item. We would be more likely to order it again if it was priced at $12. The price increase from $10 to $15 is a bit steep, and we think it's not quite worth the extra money for a food cart item.“

“It's essentially what you'd expect from a casual teriyaki restaurant. Don't come here if you want the highest quality authentic Asian food, but if you want something pretty fast and affordable while still being tasty and filling, this is a solid place with options. The interior is clean and comfortable, but it's also a good place for takeout. I like their beef bulgogi a decent amount, especially for the price.“

“It has been a long time since I’ve gone to a teriyaki restaurant because my wife has resisted it. Our friends wanted to go here and, I was excited, and my wife agreed. We both had the chicken teriyaki lunch special, which come with chicken teriyaki on a bed of white rice, a side of either sweet and sour chicken or three pot stickers, and a small side salad with a house dressing. I just assumed the sweet and sour chicken was what I receive in a Chinese restaurant. Boy was I wrong! It was like way over cooked fried chicken. It was so hard that it was difficult to eat and there was absolutely no sweet or sour flavor. My wife said the pot stickers were soft but did not taste very good. Fortunately, the teriyaki chicken was very good and adding the sauce to the rice made the rice very good. The house sauce on the salad was very good. The lunch special came with a soft drink and the entire lunch was $13.50. The lady behind the counter was very nice but speaks Japanese and very little English. I tried to tell her the chicken was almost inedible but she had no idea what I was saying. We do not live in Portland so there is almost no chance we will eat there again but I would recommend the chicken teriyaki with fried rice, which our friends had and they said it was very good.“

“We came here last Saturday for our family lunch. It’s worth the drive. The food was delicious—it’s like eating sushi but healthier. I usually get tired and bored of eating sushi, go round or just regular sushi as it tends to be repetitive, but this was an excellent choice. They add good portions veggies to your plate, and I love veggies. The portions of meat were more than we expected. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try some new fusion sushi-style food.“

“After googling multiple East Asia restaurants to dine at the winner was Tasty Teriyaki!
When walking in I immediately felt a warm homey vibe!
I was greeted and ordered within seconds upon walking in.
Today I ordered:
(Appetizer)
Spring Rolls
Fried vegetable spring rolls with a side of sweet and sour sauce.
Four come in the order and they are cooked to perfection, flakey yet the perfect crunch!
(Main Dish)
Tofu Teriyaki
Stir-fried tofu in teriyaki sauce with two scoops of rice and salad!
The portion size is definitely worth every penny!
The tofu was cooked to perfection as well as the rice and cabbage blend.
My pallet was shocked at how each entree complimented the other.
The service was amazing as well as the food!
It was exceptionally clean as well as a peaceful and homie place to eat!
When I come back through the area I will for sure be stopping in to have another meal here!
Thanks for the amazing food!

“This place is amazing. I just got back from London, Mayfair. And I can say for sure that our of the few restaurants I visited there, none would surpass Jenkins in terms of sensation of taste. Breakfast menus out there are top knotch for sure, but Jenkins is definitely better overall than even Hide. And Hide has 1 Michelin star.
Sidenote, the blueberry creme brulee is simply the best I've had. In my entire life.“

“I’ll admit that when I walked in I was not exactly encouraged by its style. But what Bentoz may lack it decoration it makes up for in the quality of its food. My 3 other family members had the chicken teriyaki and I had the bibimbap myself and it was really good. So good that on the first bite I literally said “Wow, this is really good” in the middle of the restaurant. Definitely recommend for anyone who happens to be staying/visiting in the area“

“On March 6, 2021 we ordered catering services from Zen teriyaki and Beaverton. The quality of service and food was amazing and the price point was spot on as well. We ordered their standard catering package and added on salad and 20 Eggrolls total cost before tipping was about $170.00. This was enough good for about 16 people. We only had 12 people, we ate the rest the next day as leftovers. I will use them in the future and I would highly recommend them to anybody who is looking for high-quality food with great service.“
