“Daebak Wang Mandoo is one of those special mom-and-pop restaurants that deserves to be packed every day. Every time we come here, the food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really tell that everything is prepared with care and served fresh from the kitchen. The quality and taste have been remarkably consistent every single visit, which is something I really appreciate.

The restaurant itself is always spotlessly clean, and the family who runs it is genuinely some of the sweetest people. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly, and it’s honestly adorable when their kids are helping out around the restaurant on some days. There’s such a warm, family atmosphere here that makes you feel like you’re supporting a real local family rather than just going out to eat.

And the ultimate endorsement? My four-year-old calls this her favorite restaurant and asks to come here all the time! Our go-to is usually a bowl of handmade dumpling soup for each person and the fried mandu (one order with kimchi pork for the adults and one order without the kimchi for the kiddo who doesn’t like spicy food yet).

If you’re anywhere in Federal Way and haven’t tried Daebak Wang Mandoo yet, put this little gem on your list. Delicious food, generous hospitality, a super clean restaurant, and a family that clearly puts their heart into what they do. We also ordered the tempura calamari and Agedashi with a side of Japanese beer (large bottle of Asahi). The wait staff are attentive and checked on us multiple times. The restaurant is clean and tables are nicely spaced apart, tables are cleaned immediately. The decor of this restaurant is pretty cool and unusual. We will definitely be back. Thanks Nami Sushi!”

This spot has some of the best drink specials as well as the best menu for food, drinks, and snacks! They also have the best dog treats in the area as our two dogs love the peanut butter crunchy treats they have here, even our picky girl will want more! We have never been disappointed here as they have fast and friendly employees, the drinks are always refreshing and delicious and the reward system here is worth joining in. They are great about posting their specials, helping lost or dogs in need of adoption, and supporting other small businesses on their social media as well! Truly one of the best coffee businesses!”

“Crowded weekend - only 4 wood tables and a counter, with many shared bench type seats. I got the matcha earl grey tea and it was delicious.

Also ordered the ham cheese sandwich, which was very tasty, buttery, and came with a side of arugula salad, all for $8! Excellent value for money, especially considering typical Seattle prices for the same meal would be $16+. There were some baked pastries in the display, but it looked like their housemade croffles, bingsu, and other desserts were their specialty, not the ones on display.

Overall, the aesthetic end vibe was chic and cute, but the space was too small to enjoy it. Staff were very nice, but ultimately the crowds influenced the order time - we noticed other customers who ordered after us got their food first, leading to around 15 min wait for the sandwiches. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of for those on a short timeline.

Would recommend for groups less than 3 people, no laptops, social catch up, under 1 hour. No visible bus bins, trash cans (maybe due to small space), and only 1 small bathroom, easy to feel cramped with anything more than 12 customers.”

“Love the service, the food and the serving sizes you get no matter what meal or item you choose from their menu. I also love how they don’t just serve burgers, (hence the name, “Monster Burger”). Giant Burgers to teriyaki and rice to chicken strips and French fries. I’ve never had a time that I’ve ordered from them and had a problem. The service is excellent. I love conversating with the older gentle man (owner) and I love seeing how a family works together. My favorite restaurants I only eat at are family owned not a corporation. Those are the best and can’t get food made like theirs in corporate restaurants. Homemade is always the BEST!!”

“It’s crazy because the I usually don’t go for vegetarian options when it comes to eating at burger places, but the veggie garden burgers here taste fire (coming from someone who eats meat often). I only come here for their veggie garden burgers and fried zucchini. Their portions are huge, and their milkshakes taste delicious! Definitely a neighborhood staple! I can’t speak for the rest of the stuff of the menu, but they are communicative and effective when you call for takeout.”

“Interior of Aji Koharu is calming and shelters customers from the rush of traffic on Hwy 99. The food was excellent: well prepared, presentation of various items enhanced the meal, the flavor and texture of the variety of sashimi was each distinct and appreciated. The portions are generous and thank goodness fulfilling of the appetite of our adolescent boys. The adults were also pleased by the generous portions which some of them shared with the young men. Happy diners all around. Some suggestions: music can be less intrusive and unavailable menu items need to be communicated to customers before they look at the menu to make their selection. This can spare disappointment of customer and avoid lost/waste of time for wait staff and customer. We'll share our delight with Aji Koharu with our friend groups and we have made plans to return for more if the excellent dishes at Aji Koharu.”

“33 years ago, my new wife introduced me to Vinces. In her previous marriage, Vinces in Renton was the family go to. One bite of Vinces pizza and I was hooked. The only negative is Vince's pizza has spoiled me to every other pizza place in the area. Vinces pizzas are Neapolitan style......much, much better (in my humble opinion) than any other pizza's. Vince's is the place our family always meets for special occasions. We have always been treated very well. My 9 year old grandson told me Vince's pepperoni pizza is his favorite.....it happens to be my favorite too. Writing this I'm starting to crave a pizza! Their other menu offerings are equally excellent. A year or so ago, we stopped for lunch. Out of the blue, I ordered one of their Italian Hero's. I will say it was the absolute BEST Sub/Hero/Grinder I had ever eaten. If you have not been to Vinces, so yourself a favor and try it. You might find you have a new favorite pizza/pasta place. A++”

“My wife pretty much dislikes teriyaki chicken. However, in a moment of weakness, she said yes to it this time. Since we moved recently, I looked around for a well rated Teriyaki restaurant near us, and Teriyaki house came up. Well, she loved it (and so did I!) but did not care for the sauce. So next time I went in, I asked for the chicken without the sauce, just on the side. Since then, this has been the only place we go for take out. The quality of the food is the best out of all the other Teriyaki places we tried and the couple who own the place are wonderful. I would love to spend a few days in the kitchen watching how this wonderful chef makes these dishes. I've tried several of the other offerings and they are just as excellent as the teriyaki. I look forward to trying more of their fabulous offerings. Highly recommended.”

“Wooree Bahnjeom serves my favorite jajangmyeon in Federal Way, and after three or four visits, the food has remained impressively consistent. The jajangmyeon has that rich, savory, old-school Korean-Chinese flavor I look for, and it’s the main reason I keep coming back. I also recommend the ganpunggi, which has a nostalgic sweet, tangy, and crispy flavor reminiscent of traditional Korean-style fried chicken dishes. The restaurant has always been clean during my visits, which I appreciate. I also respect that they close from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. for an employee break, something that is still fairly uncommon at Korean restaurants. Service can be inconsistent, however, and some employees have been noticeably more attentive than others. Still, the quality of the food has been dependable enough that this remains my go-to Korean-Chinese restaurant in the area. When I come here, I know I can expect satisfying food and usually leave very happy with the meal.”

“I've had Underground Kitchen before, via delivery, so I knew I already enjoyed the food, but this was my first time entering the restaurant. One concern I have is regarding the accessibility of the location. As the name suggests, the restaurant is located underground requiring travel via stairs. I'm sure the restaurant is ADA compliant, but I do not know where the wheelchair accessible route is. Asides that, the vibe of the restaurant itself is nice and has this Korean bar feel. The music is on the louder side, but I enjoyed the Kpop that was being played. The restaurant is generally clean and there are complimentary candies near the register. The service was great and I had no problems with the staff. I went here with a friend and we got the Half Fried and Half Yangnyeom Chicken, and the Kimchi Cream Udon with Beef. In order for a classic Korean chicken shop to be considered good, they must nail both the original fried chicken and the yangnyeom chicken, to which UnderGround kitchen did. I prefer their chicken over Pelicana because of how well seasoned the meat was. The original fried was perfectly juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The yangnyeom could have been spicier, but it is a good spice level for the average American tastebud. Nonetheless, despite yangnyeom chicken being a saucy chicken, the coating was still crispy. As for the kimchi cream udon with beef, it was divine. The last time I tried their food I had the one with pork belly, and I remembered enjoying it then too, but wasn't sure if the pork belly was doing the heavy lifting as my favorite type of meat. I was quickly proven wrong with the beef udon because this was just as good as the pork belly kimchi cream udon. The noodles had a great bite to them without being undercooked. The beef was soft enough to chew through with healthy teeth. However, the kimchi cream sauce is what carried the whole dish, as both ingredients balance each other out. The sourness of kimchi reduces the richness of the sauce to a perfect level that is creamy enough, but not overly fatty, while the dairy content neutralizes the spice. “I’m wondering if they understand the products that they serve. A latte is a drink that has 3-4 parts steamed milk to 1 part espresso. So a 12 oz drink with one shot of espresso, fundamentally cannot be a latte, yet that’s what their menu calls it. That also happens to be the smallest size they serve. Something doesn’t add up. It would be easier for them to achieve the proper ratios for their drinks if they served an 8 oz cup. An 8 oz latte with 2 shots of espresso would be the proper way to make said drink”
