“Just tried Mama Said Hand Pies for the first time… I started with a maple cold brew. It was made like the employee really cared that I enjoyed it - carefully combined and stirred and not overpacked with ice like other places do so that you only get a few sips of coffee before it’s a cup of ice left. And the cold brew itself was very smooth. Then I got the spinach egg and cheese hand pie. I initially thought they looked kind of small but they’re super filling so I was pretty full after one. The flavor was so good and the crust was fresh and buttery and crispy. I also got the sausage gravy and egg hand pie which was heavenly. And even though I was completely stuffed after two, I did try the cherry hand pie and loved the almond glaze on top of it. Can’t wait to go back to try the other flavors!”

“I’ve lived in Ithaca for 10 years now and I cannot believe I haven’t gotten here sooner. My guests from VT and I had an amazing breakfast. The menu is pretty standard for a diner, but the specials were truly unique and phenomenal. I had an omelette with chorizo and habanero cheese, amongst other veggies. Best omelette I’ve ever had, hands down. Only thing I can recommend to new visitors is to get there early; while we were waiting for a table, one of the four specials became unavailable, and as we were ordering our meals, we sold them out of a second special. I would definitely come back again and I wish I had sooner!”

“Silo Fried Chicken – Food Truck Battle Edition Crispy, flavor-packed bird that came with “Truck Gravy” so good I briefly considered using it as skincare. The strawberry lemonade was fizzy which isnt my thing—but that’s a me problem. Ate it at their mobile bar like a civilized human. The owner? Cool as hell. I’d follow this truck like it owes me money.”

“I drove down from Cape Vincent to meet one of my best friends from college who was in the area for a family wedding. I was completely blown away by my meal. The waitress was incredible. I had the Chilean sea bass and it literally melted in my mouth. The salad with fresh fruit and a raspberry vinaigrette was outstanding. We ordered coffee and I was brought a little tray with fresh whipped cream, as well as other delightful garnishes. Finally… the mile high carrot cake!! Pure bliss. Thank you for a truly memorable experience. And I was so grateful that we weren’t rushed. We don’t get to see each other frequently and it was a blessing to just spend time together.”

“Everything about Sal's is simply the best! We make trips up from Corning just to make a stop here. They have the best gluten free pizza around and their garbage wings are delicious! They always are friendly and make you feel welcomed. After a few visits they remember you and make you feel like family.”

“Arty, cozy, dreamy and elegant! Every corner of the building is bursting with tasteful character without an ounce of clutter. The shared spaces offer everything you didn't even know you needed and the guest rooms are spacious, private and luxurious. The bathrooms are well lit, stocked and feature showers that are not just beautiful but experiential. I loved the coffee and snacks near the front desk with their kind and helpful staff. It's high end without being stuffy and homey without being kitschy, the best of all worlds come together at Argos Inn!”

We will be back again for prime rib night! The decor is very nostalgic I thought it was great, my teen daughter gave the decor a giggle!”

“Bike bar is a great addition to downtown and nice to see the expansion. The menu is simple and more geared towards cocktails than lots of beer options. The service was inconsistent. One bartender was friendly and nice and another was curt. They have 2 snack options but we did not get any.”

“Very small place with excellent food and service. We stopped in for lunch and made the mistake of going around noon. It would have been quieter if we had waited an hour. The food is excellent, though. We tried their version of a falafel sandwich and the rice bowl. Both the chickpea patty and chicken were delicious. Parking can be difficult in their rear lot as it is shared with several apartment buildings as well. Still would recommend, though. I think it's worth the hassle for such excellent food.”

The only drawback to our experience was the manchild in the restaurant when we arrived. He was sitting at a table with 2 others dining in as we were, and decided that screaming at the waitress, the chef, and 2 other employees was an appropriate course of action after there was a misunderstanding when he and my boyfriend ordered something similar and the manchild was accidentally brought the wrong dish. With an air of not so subtle racism, he accused them of doing it on purpose, and demanded all of their meals (his as well as his other two very unfortunate dining companions) be completely comped, to which the other unfortunate people dining with the manchild, all completely horrified of his behavior, paid their tab and wanted to leave quickly. The employees at the establishment handled the situation SO professionally and immediately did everything to remedy the situation, which made our experience there even better. We ordered food to go, and will definitely be recommending this location to others and returning here our next time in Ithaca. Hopefully manchild will stay at home and cook his own food next time- and again- kudos to the lovely staff at Saigon!”

Not so at Uncle Joes. The food here is consistantly excelent, the prices reasonable, and the service on point. You will spend a lot more for a lot less on the other side of town.”

“We went in a few nights ago for our 3rd visit. They had lost power and when it came back on, they were swamped with everyone coming in. They honored their reservations and did the best they could! Matt behind the bar was outstanding, running all around to try and “put of fires” everywhere. We were there longer than we should’ve been, but the food was still great and we will definitely go back! Great job Matt and the rest of the team! You guys were awesome.”

“We had a fabulous dinner at The Boatyard Grill! My husband ordered the ribeye and I ordered the strip steak. The steaks were cooked perfectly, great cuts. One thing that makes these steaks so good is the wood fired grill taste.

The mashed potatoes were flavorful and delicious! Green beans were also fantastic, so glad they weren’t soft, but had a slight crisp as they were cooked perfectly. My husband’s ribeye was presented beautifully with mushrooms and roasted garlic! We split 6 coconut shrimp, these were excellent. I hope to return and next time try the scallop or lobster, shrimp, and scallop risotto! There were so many great options, we will be back!

Also, our waitress, Amy was fantastic! She provided excellent service and she as so friendly. We also enjoyed the atmosphere— so cozy with a fireplace and nice seating options!

Update: We visited a second time and it was just as wonderful! This time we ordered the Georgia peach grilled chicken and smash burger!”
