“The food here was delicious!! I’ve done a few omakases, but this was hands down one of the best. Just looking at the sushi you could tell it was high quality. They also cut generous pieces of all the fish.

“We split the Bang Bang Broccoli, 1,000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, “Beef” and Broccoli, and Thai Lettuce Wraps. Narrowing it down to these four things was difficult, as there’s so much to choose from. I especially loved the Thai Lettuce wraps, which is something that’s out of my typical comfort zone. Everything was delicious and the entree portions are pretty substantial. Definitely on the higher end price wise, but very much worth it.“

We got there before our reservation and sat at the bar and enjoyed a drink before our seats were ready. Tashon was a great bartender/ manager was very attentive and always made sure everything was to out liking. Chef Ump put on a great experience and made everything perfectly. He was very engaging and also made sure everything was to our liking. “Hands down, this was most incredible dining experience I've had the pleasure of tasting in my life. My husband was able to reserve a table for us same day, and while we waited to be seated in the sushi bar at the back, we were served a couple of delicious cocktails. Once seated, the real magic began!

I have never tasted such unique creations before. Each bite was exquisite, each fish's unique flavors complimented but not overwhelmed by the incredibly fresh ingredients atop each piece, expertly crafted and delightfully arranged. Omakase can be a bit of an intimidating experience, especially if you are not sure what you are getting. It can be an experiment in trust. I can say that after the first bite of sushi, the tartare, I wholeheartedly trusted whatever Chef Marcos wanted to put on my plate!

The sushi chefs were so talented and so friendly, answering all our questions about the food and more. I felt I got to know Chef Marcos in particular, who was both skilled, well traveled, and wicked fun to talk to. He even delighted me by speaking a bit of Vietnamese, which I found impressive and charming in equal amounts.

I cannot say enough about how mind-blowing this dining experience was. If I am ever back in Chicago, you can bet I will be back again to enjoy what new creations Chef Marcos has in store for the season.

Dietary restrictions: It is also of note that my husband has a shellfish allergy, and all chefs were incredibly careful in accommodating my husband's allergy, subbing out ingredients so that he wouldn't miss out on anything. I found their care and attention to detail to his allergy be very impressive, and I'm sure anyone with any dietary restrictions will find them equally accommodating. Just let them know when you make the reservation.“

The taste was fantastic and this was truly a wonderful place to pause and take a quick break before traveling to my gate. The team was prompt and brought over a menu and took my order quickly. Additionally, they went above and beyond and when I asked if they could charge my phone, they plugged my phone right into an outlet nearby. It’s a small and simple yet quality restaurant and you can tell the owners are passionate about sushi and giving customers a good experience. The choices for hand rolls were plentiful and presentation was well done. Service was very good as well. As our server said "fatty tuna is where it's at" - so we saved those for last. I’m not always a big proponent of any special treatment but I think if you write both honeymoon AND birthday on the reservation there should probably be a little something to make the occasion, especially if they plop a QR code in front of you at the end to ask you for a review. Left a sour and disappointing note to the night, not sure who missed that but something to be aware of if people are coming to spend hard earned money to mark a special occasion. We ended up going down the street to Chef’s Special for a little more hospitality in that regard and got a candle in our dessert and some comped cookies. A little goes a long way!“

“This was a wildly delicious meal. Inventive but also traditional. The food itself was the star, but every other aspect of the meal was also great. It felt like a dinner party at friend’s house.
