“We've not been there since 2017 due to relocation but have nothing but fond memories of Dover Straits. When we bought our house in Grayslake in 1995, our realtor took us there to celebrate. We continued going, mainly for birthdays, anniversaries or impress out of towners, and were never disappointed. We have immediate access to super fresh seafood in Florida but miss the ambiance and supper club vibe Dover Straits provided. Loved that the owners always greeted us like we were worth a million bucks.”

“When I ordered my pizza the man on the phone was super kind, he listened to what I needed and let me know in advance that there would be a delay on delivery. When I called back to upgrade my order he was kind about it and updated what I needed. Our pizza came hot fresh and delicious.”

“I've been trying local places around. So far this is my favorite Chinese. I will say, i was hesitant to try due to the prices. I'm can be very cheap at times. But the food looked good in the pictures and the restaurant has been in business for 50+ years so i decided to give in a try last week. I ordered the chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, pork egg foo yung, pot stickers and crab ragoon. When i tried that pot sticker, it was the most delicious pot sticker i have ever eaten. And the egg foo young, delicious! Tasty flavorful sauce and the patty texture, egg to bean sprout and meat ratio, and taste was perfect! I have been searching for that consistency in an egg foo young for years and finally found it here. The other dishes were delicious as well. I requested for the chicken and broccoli to be in white sauce. Yum! It was worth every penny. Take my money please! I came back again today. I had to. I got the chicken egg foo young and more pot stickers. An order for myself and one for my husband. He loves the pot stickers as well. While i was there both times, i saw a lot of people come in to dine in and get drinks. Seems like a very chill environment to come have some food and drinks with friends. I am very satisfied with this restaurant. It has been a royal experience. Hope they stay open for the next 50 years!”

“It's a convenient place to dine when staying at the hotel. The menu is very limited and provides your basic food distributor options. The ladies who were bartenders my first week there were great. On my return trip, there was a gent behind the bar, and he was not remotely close to as friendly or prompt as the ladies (one was in training-1st night) .”

“All of the ready made food is awesome! I travel about an hour just to come here. I have no idea what I buy is called because it is not written in English, but it is well worth pointing and saying I'll take two of those. They have pork covered in in mushrooms and cheese. There are rolls that are stuffed with spinach and cheese (I think?) , whole cooked fish, delicious desserts and so much more. You won't be disappointed. I always bring extra back to share with our friends.”

After a busy day I decided to order an pick up. Atmosphere is a modern sleek Asian fusion. Almost spa like. Families and groups of all ages were there enjoying their meals. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Always greeting you with a joyful hello amd smiles, even when they are swamped. Food is pretty good for a lower cost place. You can tell it is fresh ingredients and chefs that know how to create comfort food that looks beautiful and tasty. I have alot of food allergies and this place was open to working with me. I recommend them for a casual to nice dine in and definitely for any take out party!”

“Franks for the Memories has officially stolen our hearts.. again! My boyfriend and I came back for our second visit, and it was just as amazing as the first. We ordered the boneless wings and fries with cheese sauce, and everything was absolutely delicious. The wings were packed with flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and that cheese sauce… heavenly!

Even though the place was busy, the staff had such a great, lighthearted attitude that made the whole experience even better. They were friendly, upbeat, and on top of it all, our food came out in less than 10 minutes! You can tell they care about both the food and the people they’re serving.

We’re so happy to have this gem near our house. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again! :)”

“It was a quiet late lunch for a Saturday. This place is a gem. I had steak corn tacos. This place ranks in my top 3 Mexican restaurant I’ve been to so far. The rice was perfectly cooked. I just found my go to place when in Mundelein.”

“Hit the Scooter's drive-thru on a whim over the weekend. Line was short, and we were able to 'scoot' through quickly. Coffee was strong, staff was friendly. I had a coffee with espresso shots and it did the trick - strong. My lady had a Carmel iced drink that she thought was a little sweet, but also good. would come back again and maybe try some of the food options.”

BUT this place was amazing! I never in a million years would ever think what they called Red Sauce on a chicken sandwich would go together! But it was so good! Let's start with the food; They have quite a variety of food, good quality ingredients although nothing different or a reference point, I consider that their quality-cost-portion ratio is still in good balance, I would recommend perhaps improving the speed in food preparation a little .

Service, just good, nothing bad, nothing to highlight, it only remains as something that would not provide added value.

Regarding the environment, it is good, enough spaces for people, you can interact with the people you go to without any restrictions, you can go with your family, friends without any problem.”

“My husband Gary and I and our adorable baby fefe just walked over to Dairy Queen for the free vanilla ice cream cones. And I got my vanilla ice cream cone with the chocolate coating and it was absolutely delicious! the ice cream is always fresh and delicious and the employees are always so friendly. Keep up the good work and thank you so very much for our free delicious vanilla ice cream cones they were so delicious and very yummy. “My vehicle broke down on the way to pick up the food we ordered. They called me when it took longer than the time we selected. And they redid part of our order so it was fresh. Really appreciate the people here. It was just a bad day and they really went out of their way to do something for us.”

“So much fun here. The pool table is only available during the winter, but outside there is a huge bar with lots of friendly people. We played bags with a couple guys who live near there and we had a blast! The bill wasn't big either. $20 for four large Modelos on tap, plus they have a bunch of other IPA's and goodies!”

“I ordered the Dragon & Phoenix dish for takeout. The description sounded great: fresh shrimp, chunks of chicken, bok choy, mushrooms, snow pea pods, water chestnuts, and bamboo shoots. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t live up to the expectations.

The biggest issue was the chicken. It was dry, tough, and tasted like it had been cooked a long time ago and just reheated. It was very unpleasant to chew and really took away from the dish. The shrimp, on the other hand, were good — fresh and tender. Most of the vegetables were also fine.

However, the dish was missing two of the listed ingredients: bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Their absence noticeably affected the texture and overall experience.

This dish could have been delicious, but the poor quality chicken and missing ingredients really ruined it. I hope more attention is paid to preparation and order accuracy in the future.”
