“This is a very local restaurant.
It doesn't have fancy decor, nor does it serve mind-blowing dishes with flavors you can't find anywhere else.
However, their food is very wholesome and down-to-earth, without the heavy oils or excessive salt used to aggressively hook a customer's palate.
The prices are also very affordable—I imagine people working nearby frequent this place often.
I'm a delivery truck driver, and whenever I pass through this area, I make sure to stop by.
The elderly owner is Taiwanese and extremely kind, and they also employ some Spanish staff. The overall work atmosphere is wonderful, and I'm certain the owner treats them very well. Dining here gives you a sense of peace that you just can't find anywhere else.
You shouldn't go out of your way just to eat here, but if you happen to be passing by, you definitely have to drop in and check it out.“

“Excellent food, but the service is what truly made this place stand out. My friend unexpectedly had to take a phone call, and since the restaurant was quiet, the staff kindly turned off the music so he could hear. When he was done, they even reheated his meal without us asking.

That kind of genuine thoughtfulness is rare these days. Great food, wonderful people, and exceptional hospitality. Highly recommend supporting this restaurant—we’ll definitely be back!“

“My partner and I tried this place last Sunday and we loved it. We had the eggplant appetizer, the duck bao buns, the branzino and the lobster bisque udon. Everything was delicious, flavorful, and plated beautifully. I meant to take pictures but the food was so good I kept forgetting to until I was half way through the dish! We’ve also ordered takeout from here in the past and really liked the 3 pepper chicken and the Mongolian chicken.

The ambience is well coordinated and immersive, it feels very upscale and fancy. A great place for a date night and easily one of our new favorites :)“

“Affordable restaurant with a speciality of duck noodles. Not something I really enjoy but they also have other noodles, dumplings, wontons, Xiao Long Bao. There is a ground floor and a lower level for seating so usually there is no wait. I like their how they have a few combo selections which is kid friendly. They have cups on the side and sauce trays so it's easy to split the food.

This is self service so no tip is required.“

“We’ve been ordering from Lichee Nut for quite awhile. Mostly take out or delivery. In all cases the food has been so good that we’ve stopped ordering at any other restaurant in Brooklyn. The range of choices is especially good as I usually choose a vegetarian entree and others in our group order anywhere from beef or pork to fish or shellfish. Everything tastes fresh and not in the least greasy. In particular the BeanCurd Szechuan style with Brown Rice was and is great as was/is Beef and Brocolli,, General Tso’s Chicken. Many other dishes as well. The Restaurant has been there for almost 50 years and they still are curious and always try to please their customers. Shrimp and Vegetables, Garlic Chicken,, Hot and Sour soup and wonton Soup,, dumplings, Moo Shu, and so many other dishes… everything we order has been great. There is something for everyone. Delivery is very quick, I’m getting hungry while I’m writing this review!“

“I was served this afternoon (today around 4:30p.m.) by the sweetest woman. She was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. You can tell she puts her heart into her work and it truly made my day.
The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Spicy Cumin Lamb Noodles, and I got the regular spicy version . It was so flavorful and incredibly satisfying. The portion was huge & I couldn’t even finish it!

There was so many workers, ( someone opening the door/security, and then there was a worker on the main floor restocking/replenishing).. so many people, I guess everything was moving smooth. But to me, It was just feel a little chaotic, as to where to stand to wait for your order. There was deliveries, people using the kiosk, people in the shop ordering bake and shark having to pay for it first and then going and waiting for it. FOOD WAS GREAT!“

“It was only one other party there when I arrived so I was able to order relatively quickly. I ordered the Za Jiang Noodle and the Spicy Wonton in Red Chili. I loved the wontons. Those were my favorite. I asked the guy behind the register what was his favorite between the marinated fried chicken and the wontons. He mentioned the wontons. They were really flavorful and had a nice spice to it. The texture was good and everything I had tasted fresh. The noodles were separate from the toppings since I was having it to go. I did end up with leftovers and day two of the noodles kind of reminded me of a spaghetti with minced meat texture. the food was delicious.“

“Cozy spot. Ordered the pork soup dumplings. They were structurally sound. You’d think that’s a weird thing to say about xiao long bao but I was able to pick these up without the skin breaking and the soup spilling all over. All the deliciousness went inside my mouth instead of in the steamer basket. That’s skill right there. 10/10 def recommend“

“First time trying this spot last week with my son. We bought a few things from the menu to try. Firstly the lady at the counter was friendly and surprisingly the place wasn’t tooo crowded. Street parking is available. The broccoli was very fresh and tasty, the brown rice was a lil weird textured not sure if it was mixed with some quinoa or what but it wasn’t the brown rice I’m usually use to, lemon pepper shrimp was crispy but the flavor lacked, but babyyyy I think the best thing we had was the buffalo shrimp (not to hot, not to blend) just amount of heat ✅✅✅ I asked for fried hard chicken wings which I didn’t get, and my son shrimp lo mein wasn’t too bad the portions are both great and well worth the money. The hype is overly dragged tho I mean it’s not your average Chinese spot (crab legs, soft shell crabs and other seafood options) but nothing tooo go super crazy about lol.“

“i know God is real b/c They let me live around the corner from this place. this place is such a staple in my life, being vegan and on a budget. it says vegetarian (they’re Buddhist) but there’s no dairy or eggs, so it’s fully vegan. prices are super affordable and they have a wide array of options (i only wish they had a bit more cause i go there so often!) don’t sleep on the curry rolls.

“I've ordered three times from this restaurant since arriving to Borough Park. Every time I order with them my food is quickly prepared and well made. This last visit, I went in while still recovering from being sick with a cold/flu. My order was Chicken Lo Mein with a side of Fried Rice. To my surprise, they were so wonderful and awesome to secretly include a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Just amazing!! It was exactly what my body needed and wanted. And again, everything in my order was well made and very tasty.“

But once I opened everything, I realized the portions were pretty big - definitely enough for me to save 1/2 of everything for lunch tomorrow. Now getting into the flavors. Wow. The Mapo Tofu was sooo yummy, as were the string beans. For my main I got the Chicken with Chili Paste spicy level & it did not disappoint. I highly recommend this place. I tried some of their new dishes, and the new strawberry mojito was absolutely delicious—refreshing and perfectly balanced. Not the best skewers I’ve had but we did notice a lot of people ordering the crawfish and decided to order one, and it did not disappoint! So juicy and flavorful, I wish I could try some of the other flavors!! Manasi, Ian, Thieanna, Kat, Lance, Raj, and Alexa really contributed to making my experience amazing. “Delicious mapo tofu (vegetarian)! I got the lunch special that came with rice and a soup. The mapo tofu is made with Szechuan peppercorn so it's numbing on the tongue. I got takeout and thought it was very considerate of them to put the entree in a plastic bag.

Edit: I got it again and it was lacking in spiciness and salt so this dish is a hit or miss!!“
