The people who own it and those who work there are AMAZING, friendly, and take the time to talk to customers while keeping service at the top of their list. They (from the kitchen to the front door) look like they love working there and have created a loving family environment. Of course, the line was out the door and down the street, but that was okay because everyone enjoyed visiting each other. There is just one warning, the portions are enormous. You know when my husband can't finish it, it's a lot. 🤣”

“Had a hankering Sunday evening for an elite Lobstah Roll while in Newport, RI so I did a lil internet searching and Luke's was consistently at the top of the list. Checked out their menu online and saw they offered a Lobster Roll flight! SOLD! Off I went to find parking and get an order ASAP. Found Luke's on the corner on the Wharf and got to ordering with a quickness. Lobster Roll Sampler with three 2 oz half-rolls: lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter w/ chips and a soft drink. Choice of Sea Salt or Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips, and choice of beverage. I got the Sea Salt and Vinegar (duh) and Blueberry Lemonade in a glass bottle. The lobster in their rolls comes cold, but for a $1 upcharge, you can get it warm, which is my preference. I also got an affordably priced Poppy Seed Slaw. Folks - these Lobster Rolls deserve top billing on "Best Of" lists. My fav might have been the truffle butter lobster roll. It adds something I never knew a lobster roll was missing, but they were all delectable. The roll makes the roll, though. Buttery sourdough with the perfect thin layer of crisp. All flavors were well-balanced and left me wanting more, even though it was plenty food to make a satisfying meal with maybe/maybe not room for dessert. I honestly didn't get any dessert nearby because I didn't want to lose the taste of what I just had! The Poppy Slaw was different, but in a good, not-too-different way. It was a little on the dryer side for my liking, but I liked it just the same. I am sorry to other local Lobster Roll vendors because I don't think I'll try anywhere new on my next visit. It'll be Luke's, no doubt. I might even make a special trip just for the rolls sooner rather than later, but that time I will try the chowder too!”

“I can’t believe it took us so long to dine here. This is hands down the best food I’ve had in a very long time. Ambiance 10/10, service 10/10 and food 100/10. The street corn ravioli was out of this world. I also tried the peach & prosciutto bruschetta which was savory & sweet and just sooo good. I kept seeing this Bloody Mary type of cocktail going out so I had to order one. This drink was AMAZING. It was called “Caprese my name” which consisted of vodka, basil, tomato and get this…pasta water! Serve in a martini glass with a little mozzarella ball garnish. The most delicious drink I’ve ever had. This place is amazing and I highly recommend it if you’re in town!!!”

We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. “We just enjoyed a late lunch that was absolutely delicious! The lobster bisque was a great starter but the lobster Mac and cheese was the BEST we’ve ever had. Giant chunks of lobster were buried amongst the creamy noodles. We shared the lobster dish and it was plenty. \nThe fresh cod/ Fish-n-chips was also excellent, flaky light white fish. We waited 45 mins for our table, while sipping hot spiced cider - the food was well worth the wait.”

“Had to try this establishment as I’ve heard great things. Let it be known, there oven is gas and I do prefer wood fired, however the dough was good enough to almost make up for it. Surprisingly, it appears to be a Neopolitan pizza, however the pizza had a nice crisp to the crust, not huge, just enough to not make it a soft typical Neopolitan style pizza. So credit to them for being different and the crust was also soft and light, very nice combination. Btw, we opted for a simple Margherita, which is a baseline for judging any Neopolitan style pizza. All in all, we would definitely go back.”

“Very professional experience, we have been to Bouchard/ Chanterelle before and never disappointed. From entering the restaurant and being seated to leaving at the end of the evening. Chanterelle continues to add that little touch you don't see much of anymore. We were impressed with the food, the incredible service, and the ambiance. Max, our waiter, was great and very accommodating. I highly recommend trying Chanterelle.”

It reminded me of my grandmother's homemade recipe with thinly sliced eggplant and homemade marinara. Fried Mozzarella was also yummy. There's a deli counter with fresh chicken, tuna salad and potato salad. Soups made fresh daily. Fair prices. I'm happy to have this shop next door to the IRYS. Very friendly staff and inviting atmosphere.”

“We were vacationing in Newport from Wisconsin and stopped in at Cappy’s. Sue the bartender was friendly and a wonderful bartender. The owner Joe, what can I say….what a guy! Joe saw us walking to our Airbnb and yelled at us on the street asking when we were headed back home. Joe is a gem of a bartender. He has a gift of gab and can hand out the bs too. Nice local establishment with friendly customers and bartenders. We had Dan as a bartender too and he was a friendly, great guy! It’s a small hole in the wall place but with plenty of seating and Ben’s delivered some great hot dogs. I had 3 different dogs and they were all fantastic so if you like hot dogs I promise you’ll love Ben’s chili dogs and I suggest getting the chili dog with cheese as it’s fantastic!!!”

The large wraparound deck is so cute & cozy, like a farmhouse porch. & the coffee 🤩 I had a tiramisu latte last time, a cherry Garcia latte this time- I was not disappointed either time, the flavors were accurate without being overwhelming or weakening the espresso, & oh so delicious. The food is even better; the attention to detail & balance of flavor in the dishes is off the charts. I recommend the avocado toast or whipped feta plate, and if you’re not into coffee, their teas and lemonades are just as amazing.”

We have been here twice, the first time, the ladies were super nice and fast.

The second time I ordered through the app and had my husband pick up. I ordered a veggie six inch and put extra of all the veggies. Sometimes when I ask this and get the sandwich and get home it still isn’t a lot. This time, opening up my sandwich I was so amazed! Whoever made it did a great job and it was very clean as well. I just noticed on my receipt, whoever made it wrote “tried my best, lol” on my part of the order. I hope whoever wrote that and made my sandwich reads this so they can know that you did a great job! Thank you!”

We were visiting Newport, RI from the Northwest and chose to dine at the Red Parrot restaurant because of its excellent reviews. I called the next day about my cap, explaining that we had already left the city. To my comfort, the Red Parrot restaurant mailed my cap along with a bonus - a large Red Parrot T-shirt for my husband. What restaurant here in the Northwest would do something like that ?”

“Went with a party of four and all of our meals were exceptional. Without exaggeration, this was one of the top three best meals I've had. Went for the basics starting with shrimp cocktail (crisp, flavorful, fresh) then filet mignon (perfectly seared) with exceptional texture and taste considering I have it medium/well which can be a challenge. Finished it up with chocolate ganache which was surprisingly light and had a crisped marshmallow line alongside (ridiculously good). I know the general ratings from the majority are only about a 3, but that's why we dine in these establishments off season, when proper attention can be paid without the waves of whiny tourists that distract. “My friends and I were in town to visit the Mansions for the holiday. I called ahead. The phone rang quite a few times but had no problem getting a reservation for 7 people. We were greeted and seated at a long table again a wall to the right of the door. Surrounding us were two booths and two high tops. Everyone was so friendly when you walk in. Patrons were all polite. Most seemed mid-thirties. We were whisked to our table when we walked in. Plenty of room at the table meaning we did have to squeeze in. I sat in a very comfortable wooden chair. The air outside was cold and snow blustery, but the restaurant was warm and had a cozy fill. The booths and tables were filled even at the mid-afternoon hour we walked. Our server immediately got us glasses of water. So much ice...so much! We next order alcholic drinks. My friend ordered from the cask. The server came back and said no go. He ordered a cream ale instead. Said it was ok. I had a snakebite. That is a Harp's mixed with a cider. The fusion beer concept is genius. The snakebite was grand.

Our water glasses stayed full the whole time.

When delivering our drinks, the server took our orders for our appetizers.
We ordered boxty, scotch eggs, mozzarella sticks, and sausage rolls. Our server brought 7 small plates. We started dividing up 2 large sausage rolls among 5 people as 2 people opted out. Their lose and I was pleased to have more for myself. The sausage was nice and not spicy. The puff pastry wrapped around it was light and flaky. The sausage roll was served over spinach. On the table was Chef Ketchup. Also malt vinegar. Next I had the scotch eggs. The scotch eggs brought back memories as they were similar to thy ones my grandmother would make right around this time of year. The two good sized scotch eggs came with a nice relish. Scotch eggs are hard boiled eggs encased in the sausage . They were close and delicious. I did not have any mozzarella sticks. When not in Roman do not as they do? However, I did really enjoy the boxty with sour cream. The potatoes pancakes were a little thick. Really well fried. I dipped my boxty into the sour cream with scallions. The boxty was top notch.

My main entree was a proper chicken curry served over mashed potatoes. Absolutely tasty. The bowl contained large chunks of chicken, bell peppers, and brown curry. Absolutely an A. It was perfect given the day. My friend next to me had the Cottage pie. The beef looked so good. The person across had an Busker burger. They were disappointed when it came out with mushrooms despite asking for no mushrooms. The server corrected it quite quick. My friend gave the burger about an A-. My other friend had the mixed grill. The rashers looked under done and beef overdone (suppose to be medium rare??as old as Methuselah's cat ). The white and black pudding looked good. All and all summation is this place was fantastic. My friends all thanked me for introducing them to this awesome pub.Slán agus beannacht leat.

Oh the bill came to $360 plus we left a $70 cash tip as the service seemed short staff.”
