“Always amazed by the quality of the food. Different seasonal menus. We had an Italian wine that was perfect with our meal. Pasta dish was the show stopper topped with octopus. You will keep coming back for more.”

The chef's passion for their craft is apparent, creating an immersive experience where you feel a part of the sushi culture. Seated at the intimate sushi counter, you're not just a diner; you're an honored guest. Whether you're a seasoned sushi connoisseur or a newcomer to omakase, this place transforms a meal into a cherished memory, making every visit a celebration of the personal and the profound. This gem is one that must be treasured and appreciated. The chef not only takes to heart his customers but the environment as well- choosing eco-friendly and sustainable fishing practices to make your dining experience guilt free. This is a chef truly passionate about his art. I will forever be a patron of this establishment- encouraging this type of connection and mindfulness for the environment is what Davis is all about. I hope they are here for years to come.”
“First time visiting. They have a lot of variety of drinks, and some drinks that I haven't seen at any other boba places. Quick service. Want to come here again to try out more drink flavors. I got the brown sugar boba mochi milk tea. Was a little too sweet for me but you can pick a less sweet option. The mochi was a bit odd, it was slimy and honestly I really didn't know what to expect. I would probably not get the mochi topping again.”
“So far I've tried the falafel and chicken kabobs. Both are delicious! Service is quick even though the food is prepared fresh. The employees are friendly and helpful. I usually get my meal packed to go because the space is small and seating is limited. I'll definitely be going back!
Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are limited but delicious! Try the falafel!
Dietary restrictions: I believe the meat is halal. It's best to verify that with the restaurant, though.”
“Best Chinese food in Davis! Tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, this is a hidden gem for the food alone (I suggest the chciken curry and potstickers), but then the added bonus of an owner who very clearly cares about her business and the community. In my 3 years now in Davis, I haven't found an owner who has been so personable and treats customers like family as much as she did, even taking moments to interact with our 6 month old. We felt as if we were eating right at home! We will 100% be back! The portions are generous as well!”
“We got the Hunan style noodles with beef, pork and cabbage dry pot, and eggplant and green beans. All the dishes were so tasty!
Parking: Free parking lot with plenty of spots available.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly restaurant. High chairs are available for babies. No booster seats for smaller kids. Most dishes are spicy, so may not be kid-friendly in that sense.”

“Good Friends Hawaiian Poke absolutely nailed it—from start to finish. The fish is incredibly fresh, and the customizable bowls are packed with flavor and generous portions. The Delilah style bowl is a standout, and the sushi wraps are huge and bursting with taste.
The team is outstanding—they’re friendly, patient, and make you feel welcome, even if you’re dining solo. It truly feels like eating with good friends. The line moves quickly, and the service is warm and efficient.
As a long-time fan, I appreciate the consistency, though I hope portions stay steady—that’s one small note in an otherwise perfect experience. Loved it so much I drive here even if I don’t live in Davis anymore! Highly recommend this gem to anyone craving authentic Hawaiian-style poke.
Top-notch food, fantastic service, and a vibe that keeps you coming back.”
“We love this place. The staff is friendly and the food is TOPS! They have an AMAZING gluten free bun. My husband (who is not gluten free) has raved about everything he has tried so far too. We probably eat here every two weeks.
The space is wide open and tables are accessible for mobility devices users. My only complaint is that sometimes they have live music in the courtyard between the burger place and the bar next door, and it can be a little loud. We try not to go on a Friday or Saturday night. Or we get take out and bring it back during live music nights (and if that is your jam, the music is usually really
good).
If you have never been, it has a cool California nature retro vibe inside, a small arcade/claw machine area. and some indoor and outdoor seating. They also have TVs that usually have sports playing. The also have a rewards points program that you can get in on and earn free food.”
“Stopped on our way through from Lake Tahoe to San Francisco. What a delicious lunch our family had !! Something for everyone even 2year old grandson ! We’re from Australia and this Mediterranean cuisine ranks up there with the best. Thanks so much for the complimentary baklava too !!”
“I recently visited Café Bernardo in Davis and was really impressed by the overall experience. The atmosphere is casual yet stylish, with a cozy and welcoming vibe. It’s the perfect spot whether you want to catch up with friends, have a quiet meal, or even get some work done.
The menu offers a good mix of options, from fresh salads and sandwiches to heartier dishes. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs, and it was delicious—artful and full of flavor, with perfectly ripe avocado and a hint of spice. The coffee was excellent too, rich and smooth.
Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out quickly despite the cafe being busy. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and they use locally sourced ingredients, which is always a plus.
If you're in Davis and looking for a relaxed place to grab a flavorful bite, Café Bernardo is definitely worth a visit!”
“Very delicious. There was a language barrier, but the lady who helped us was lovely and sweet. You order from the table QR code. I'm not sure if you can customize too much”
“I kept wondering if Mrs Craig Vanessa was really an expert trader like they say, that she is not a scammer like the others, then I contacted her and I was shocked and amazed that with just $1,500 I invested, Mrs. Craig Vanessa helped me managed my account and after 7 Days of trading, I made my first withdrawal of $16,700. I'm here to testify the good work of her after she made a good profit for me in my investment. She's reachable via WhatsApp with the number on her Facebook: Mrs Craig Vanessa”

“I like the servers and the ambiance is younger and bright, but it can take a while to get food. This type of Chinese food isn't as common in Davis so it's more busy, but if you're not into this, not worth coming back.
More a place for snacks, drinks, or maybe rice plates than a meal or soup.
Spicy soup and braised beef had too much of an earthy flavor, would not get these again.”
“Hands down the best boba shop in Davis. I love getting the coconut smoothie with brown sugar boba. I have tried other coconut smoothies and none taste as delicious as the one you can get here! A lot of other places also don’t offer a coconut smoothie. 100% recommend ?!”
“Where do I start? I was new to the Davis foodie scene, but I came across Ding How and my mind was BLOWN. My partner and I both love vegan food, and was shocked to find Ding How had an entire vegan menu. Our go-tos are the Chin Ju chicken, Sesame chicken, Szechwan beef and a house chow mein! I always try to venture out of our favorites but.. they’re just so good to not get a second time! ? The staff are super patient, and friendly. They greet us so kindly upon entering and always check on us if we are dining inside. Oh! I forgot to mention that the lunch special is superior (especially when I’m on a budget and still want a hefty plate) but make sure you order before 3pm! Major shoutout to Ding How!!!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU! ??”
“Coffee, ambiance and nut butter banana toast are worth a visit! I visited Cloud Forrest Cafe from Colusa on 2/7/2019 for ‘Coffee with Cops,’ which had a great turn out from law enforcement and first responders. I wish the Davis community had attended to support law enforcement.”
“Waiter was quick and polite, food came out well paced, and was so delicious. My one critique is that the extra spicy wasn’t spicy to my boyfriend and I, but both curries we tried were still amazing. Fish pakora was good, chicken momos were not properly sealed but still tasted good so no complaints. Garlic cilantro naan is a MUST. Overall would come again. 10/10 on food.”
“Omg the sliders were so good !!! 100% will go back! Plus they have my favorite wine too !”
“Best Hot Pot I’ve had in Davis by far!!! SUPER SPICY but extremely rich and flavorful!!! The sliced noodles were amazing!! This is my first time coming and it will not be my last!! Happy to have this in West Davis!! 10/10!! Our waiter was also incredibly sweet and helpful!”

“Davis’ newest coffee spot! I’m so exited for a new coffee choice!! First time visiting. Volt did not disappoint. Vanilla latte is always my go to when trying out a new place. They had a choice of medium and dark roast. I chose the dark. It was delicious!! A perfect balance of all flavors. Staff is wonderful. Choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The view of the beautiful and humongous cork oaks is superb. Guads food truck is there. We got breakfast burritos. And of course they were delicious. We will definitely be back and I will be recommending this coffee shop to everyone. They also offer a selection of beer if you so desire!”

“Good food, large portions with enough to take home. The drinks are not as flavorful as other places, particularly the Yakult drinks which did not have much Yakult flavor. It was very warm and muggy inside, so it was a little uncomfortable to eat there on a warmer spring evening. We ended not finishing our meal and took it home to finish because my wife and kids were complaining about how hot and muggy they were. Overall a good place to get food, but their drinks are not as good as other Boba/Tea shops in town. Also for the comfort of customers, they should turn on the A/C (might have been broken, but I didn’t ask). We did like their food which was flavorful and would go back for their other food dishes, but may get our tea drinks elsewhere.”
“Always a fun experience at shabu shabu! Definitely a more basic menu for AYCE, so we opted for A La Carte as it was cheaper and we left satisfied. Service was attentive and the interior was a fun vibe.”
“Delicious, delicious, delicious!!! We had thai ice tea (free refills), satay, "drunken" noodles, and thai stir fry. Great service, too!”

“I tried the beef lamb plate and was not disappointed. The food tasted fresh and the flavor was definitely there. I think it would have really knocked it out of the park if there was some cut tomatoes and red onion, maybe. Otherwise, the sauce was great.
I got spicy on the side because I shared with my kids. I also bought a side of fries and was happy with the portion - more than enough for my two kids to share and me to pick off of.
Next time I’d love to try the dolma and baklava!”

“This place was nice, it wasn’t too busy which could be seen as either good or bad The atmosphere was calming, furniture was cozy. As for the food, It was amazing. The churros were gigantic and tasty, the ice cream is creamy and soft. 10 Bucks for the whole cup, not a bad place for a small date. Would go again!”

“Saw it on the map and thought "wiki, cool." I saw it was in a best western and thought, "how cool could it be?" Well, very cool is the answer. Nice place to kill some time and get a mojito. I wanted to keep with the tropical theme.”

“Happy Valentine’s Day, Preethi! I love you and miss you. I’ll never forget when I consistently visited your buffets during my sophomore & junior year Spring Quarters. My waist size increased by 2 inches each time, and I couldn’t fit any of my pants when summer came. I’ve spread the good news of Preethi to friends and family, and many have been converted. They can agree that your food is preethi amazing ;) Our 6 year anniversary is coming up, so I’ll visit you very soon!”
“This was my first time eating here. It was very noisy inside, so we opted for take-out. I ordered a 240 on dutch crunch bread. It was okay, but there were a couple pieces of gristle in the meat and I would have liked a bit more sauce. Also, the menu said it had cheese, but my sandwich didn't appear to have any.
My friends ordered the 13 and 309.
Both were disappointed by the small portion of "meat". One was disappointed that the gluten free bread wasn't toasted, which can greatly improve the flavor of gluten free bread.”
“Highly recommend!!Coho has many great food options, but a steamy bowl of delicious pho after classes always hits the spot! Meat here is juicy, vegetables fresh, and the broth variety allows me to experiment with different soup tastes. On certain days, I also like to grab some freshly-made sushi, especially the Rainbow Roll! The staff is friendly and very fast, rolling through a big line during regular noon rush hour in no time!”
“Despite being in a tiny food truck right next to the Silo bus hub, Shah's Halal Food punches miles above its weight in terms of food, service speed, and convenience for a regular student like me. Yes, theres other places on campus, but none are THIS good and THIS close to where I actually have stuff happening on a regular day. All the Gyros ive tried from this place have been well worth their price; having amazing food within a few minutes of walking is priceless to me.
Try it if you ever swing by the Silo, they'll have amazing food even if the UC Davis-provided seating isnt the best in the world. 9.5/10 would absolutely recommend (though you shouldn't sit on the concrete seats too long, ill admit.)
Dietary restrictions: It's got it in the name; No pork, compliant with what most Muslims are allowed to eat, and pretty tasty too!”
“Great wine selection! With our wine, we tried the delicious homemade hummus and pita appetizer, best I've had! We also tried the sampler platter, so tastful and beatiful.”
“Tasty Palace is the best Chinese in town, bar none. It's authentic northern Chinese cuisine, so it's spicy. Lots of people expecting Panda Express will be disappointed. But if you want an authentic and very tasty Chinese dining experience, this is the best game in town.
I recommend nearly every seafood dish, the tofu, the lamb... It's all great. Be forewarned -- it's not boring. It's full of flavor.
Reasonable prices too considering portion size. Nearly every dish can easily be shared between two people.
This has become our Chinese go-to spot, and I hope more people will give it a try!”
“I come here quite often for pick up & I must say I am always impressed with all the workers. I went on Thursday February 8th & they where incredibly busy the phone was ringing no stop & people walking in to get pick up or door dash & the employees where doing great under a very stressful busy night. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate all you do. Fantastic pizza as always. Great job.”
“David*** and the other staff here are good peoples for real!!! Not to mention the wholesome food-- now that's flavor! Mushroom burger, mac n cheese, and fries of all sorts are my favorites. Cozy & welcoming spot for us struggling students, grads, profs, and undergrads alike lol.”
“Love this place! It needs more recognition because locals don’t even know about it. Great food, great atmosphere!”

“It's unusual to find a restaurant serving high quality Dim Sum outside of San Francisco, so it's always a treat to take my family to Well Season. Although I'm now comfortable with the variety of dishes available at a Dim Sum restaurant, I grew up in New Hampshire which, to the best of my knowledge, still doesn't have a single Dim Sum restaurant in the entire state. Nonetheless, the staff at Well Season are patient and helpful with newcomers . They have times when they serve from the traditional Dim Sum carts, but they also always have have plastic covered Dim Sum picture menus available that you can mark up with a dry erase marker to select the dishes you want. My favorites are Siu Mai (minced pork and shrimp dumplings) and Shrimp Har Gow (translucent or "crystal" shrimp dumplings. The only aspect of the restaurant that strikes me as odd is the venue. Well Season restaurant is in a former Applebees building, with lots of exterior windows, so the ambiance has a distinctive American feel to go with the traditional Dim Sum menu.”

“I’m here to review Genesis, our server, who was extremely good. Genesis had our coffee and water on the table so quickly, and her demeanor was so sweet and attentive. I haven’t been to an ihop in a long time, but will likely be coming back since our experience was so nice thanks to Genesis 😃”
