“First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!”

“Visited on March 5, 2019, before noon. Located on the very commercial section of Gatineau (a mall, bunch of stores and restaurants, etc.), inside a shared building with other business. There is parking, but it is a bit of a premium, although you can always take public transit. Definitely smaller than BDT and Gainsbourg in Hull, of course they are more the restaurant type, still a nice setup. One section with small tables for two and the other for groups. Not a big food menu, but quite interesting. The big hot dog smell good, but I went for the pan chicken with kimchi sauce, very nice. The tap menu was also small but good variety, although there was two variation of the Hypa IPA, but I went for the Double call Tiberius (Roman emperor), very solid, but so are the two others I had last January in cans. However, the store selection is kind of thin, only three kinds for sale that day, but then again they don't have the capacity like the two others. In all, a very good addition the Capital region beer scene!”

Our server, Isabella, was nothing short of perfection. She took our drink orders and delivered them with prompt service and attention to the detailed requests of each customer. She was gracious, warm and so friendly.
Our servings were HUGE and very tasty. We enjoyed our time talking over great food.
Isabella was attentive without being intrusive. She topped off the coffee and made certain we were satisfied with our orders.
We will include Alpina in our trips to the region.
Parking: Large lot with easy access to building.

“We had an incredible evening here! We started with the Portuguese Octopus as a starter, then the Veal Filet and Seafood Risotto as main courses. The Veal Fillet was perfect – we both gave it 5 out of 5. The meat was cooked to perfection, with just the right texture and temperature for us. The Seafood Risotto was also fantastic, but if you're a little picky ?, the lobster was a little difficult to remove from its shell.
We were completely full and had no room for dessert… but we couldn’t resist trying the Crème Brûlée!
We wish we knew the name of our waitress – she was wonderful. Our French is not very good, but she was very patient and let us practice while we ordered. Thank you for this fun experience with our French skills! ?”

So we arrived around 5 p.m. and we got a table. On this Saturday evening, the music was disco and too loud, we took care to mention to the waitress that it would be preferable to have ambient music, even Italian, and less loud. The volume was reduced for 15-20 minutes, and the volume was increased.”

“You can find the basics here like snacks, coffee, chips, muffins, etc... but what you probably don't know is this unassuming little convenience store attached to a gas station also has one of the best pizzas in Gatineau.I live in the Greater Toronto Area and good pizza is fairly easy to find. When I visit my daughter in Gatineau, it's not so easy. I find pizza here to be bland and mostly low quality ingredients at premium prices.This little place however, is different. The pizza is reasonably priced and quite better than any I've found so far in the area. Ingredients are fresh and they don't try to pretend you're getting a great deal by giving you a dozen 2 inch wide slices.Next time you want a pizza, give this place a try, you won't regret it. They're on Uber Eats as Pizza Iolo.

Cod Fritters and Calamari were pretty good, but relied heavily on the sauces for flavor.
The Chicken Supreme BLT was also pretty good, but I felt the pizza dough bun was not fully cooked, which is a shame, because the chicken and dressing were really good.
Got the Brie & Mushrooms Burger for take away for my roommate, said it was very tasty, so I'm glad he enjoyed it.

A young girl served me and she had the most beautiful smile. She was warm and welcoming.
