“At Utzutzu, you can find a top-notch omakase experience. We’ve visited this restaurant four times, and every visit has been exceptional. The service is always warm and attentive, and the sashimi is incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. We have never been disappointed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable omakase experience!”
“The food was great, the service was excellent, I was very satisfied”
“I was expecting just another fried chicken sandwich spot but this place is different in a good way. The chicken had that perfect crunchy crust and the meat was actually juicy which is hard to find. Ive been back maybe four times now and honestly kind of embarrassed by how often I crave it. I usually get the classic but the spicy version has a real kick to it, not just heat for show. The pickles they use are tangy and cut through the richness just right. Service is quick even when theres a line out the door and the people working there always seem to actually care. Its my go to now when I dont feel like cooking and it never lets me down”
“The service was amazing from start to finish, and the food was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were delightfully boozy and well-crafted, making them the perfect complement to the meal. Dessert was especially memorable, with multiple layers and components that came together in a unique and interesting way.
My only regret is not calling ahead for a reservation on a Friday night, as the restaurant was understandably busy. I'll definitely be planning ahead next time because I will absolutely be coming back!”

“Wonderful hospitality and warmth coming from the Host Ty Do letting me know more about the Cambodian culture. And BIG Wow on the Sea Food dish: 637. SALMON IN GARLIC BASIL WINE SAUCE : Poached salmon topped w/ roasted garlic, basil, & black mushroom in reduced wine sauce. It's divine! It's my new hot restaurant spot in The Little Town of Alameda.”

“Final date night before flight home tomorrow. Sausage plate. The British bangers are super flavorful and juicy, goes great with the spicy mustard sauce! The bratwurst is perfect with the kraut and horseradish. The smoked bison is a bit on the dry and spicy side. Reminds me of a Slim Jim. I wish I tasted more bison, but it's still good. The herbed goat cheese and lavash bread is to die for! The herbs are perfectly balanced with the cheese and spreads so easily on the bread! All paired perfectly with Zin-phomaniac red wine!”
“We initially tried to come here on a Friday at 7 PM but there seemed to be a long wait so we decided to check it out on a Wednesday and we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. This location was originally a Taco Bell, but I love the atmosphere there, friendly, good service and comforting food! It's a cozy place perfect for a cold wintry day to have your own little boiling hot pot of tasty broth and hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Hubby ordered the Lau Pork Bone Marrow and I had the Lau Oxtail. I ordered the Oxtail without the tripe, just more oxtail! The hot pot came out boiling with oxtail and beef balls. All I had to do was cook the egg noodles, taro, tofu, cabbage, veggies into the soup as there was plenty of delicious oxtail and meat balls in the delicious broth! Great for a bone chilling night! Next time I'd love to try the shaken beef!”

“Great variety of tasty dishes on the menu and the food was delicious! I loved the “secret” specials - you need to ask to find out what they are. Fun cocktail options. And, all of the dessert options were awesome! My fav was the cheeseburger - YUM! I would definitely go back!”
“Delicious coffee and a beautiful local shop!! Smells delicious inside and the people there are always friendly. Wifi and comfortable seating too!! Mocha is perfectly balanced not too sweet not too bitter. Will come back for the fresh fruit smoothies and banana nut bread with chocolate 🤤”
“i love in and out very much cuz of the food and the prices are very good and also they have items that are not on the menu and its always busy and i dont see them going out of buiness any time soon but if this had upgrade the store so more people can sit down that would be good and also the staff are very nice and they always get everything rite and the food is better then most fast food places so im coming here every time”
“Really delicious CA-traditional fusion sushi rolls with ingredients like mango, macadamia nuts, and basil paired perfectly with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. A new favorite!”
“Afternoon tea. Interesting experience. Recommend reservations. We went here recently (brother recommended this place). The place was quaint. We selected the tea for one. Each of us chose 2 sandwich flavors and a pot of tea. I got the flowering tea, it has a mild flowery taste and is visually pleasing. Sandwiches were an interesting experience. The coconut jam was surprisingly good. I personally got the meatfloss and the turkey with Brie and fig jam. The turkey was somewhat sweet. The scone was good too, along with the savory canapé. Dessert was good. I’ll have to come back again with my spouse and friends next time.”

“Faction Brewing is a wonderful, local brewery! On a perfect day, enjoy a beer or cider on their patio overlooking the San Francisco Bay and city skyline. Catch it on a gloomier day and you can still enjoy a crafted beverage in their large indoor spaces. We host our annual donation drive here in the spring and the staff is always so fantastic. Highly recommend Faction Brewing!”
“We went for brunch on a Saturday. No line or wait for a table. Menu looked promising and food was decent. The tom yum egg shrimp was flavorful. Broth was very tasty. The panda brioche toast was very pretty and the panda cream was tasty, but it was just brioche toast with cream on it. My bad for thinking it was going to be like a french toast - a little more substantial of a meal. I left still hungry and grabbed 2 tacos down the block at the taqueria.”
“This place serves joy by the cup and happiness by the bite. The coffee? Bold enough to turn any morning around. The tea? A perfect hug in a mug, no matter the weather. And the pastries? Golden, flaky bites of pure magic that might just ruin other desserts for you. The vibe is cozy, the staff is friendly, and my taste buds are still doing a happy dance. 10/10, would abandon my kitchen for this place again.”

“Sat at the cute diner counter for a late breakfast, freidnly service as always. Coffee was kinda weak thats my only complaint been coming here for years, pankaces always hit the spot. Definitly a solid local spot for a food coma.”

“The food was good, nice and hot. I didn't like the fact that in the window and on the sign it had the same price, when I got my receipt I was charged more..When I asked to speak to a manager the lasy couldn't speak good english and she didn't understand me at all.”

“Great beer selection, friendly staff and sunny warm patio to enjoy it all.”
Takeout Restaurants
“Reasonably priced tasty dinner of Shanghai Soup Dumplings, Sweet fried chicken wings, and beef stew noodle soup. Delicate XLB and juicy. Wings were crunchy, meaty, and lightly battered and fried. It’s one of our “go to places” for Chinese food in Alameda. Small local neighborhood place with nice service.”
“I can not express how impressed and blown away I was visiting Neptune’s today “on accident”. I was driving past neptunes today and we ran into car trouble right in front. We got out and pushed the car into the nearest parking lot which happened to be neptunes. We had just bought a used car in the neighborhood and was trying to make it home and the battery just died. We spent some time pulling out the battery and ran next door to the auto parts store to buy a new one. Out of the blue an employee walked us out some water and said “I saw you out here and it’s hot. Wanted to give you some water and ask if you needed help. “ blown away by his kindness I thanked him but we had it covered. Once we got the battery replaced I decided to get breakfast from Neptune’s to show my thanks for their hospitality. Wow was I blown away. The breakfast was amazing , the coffee on point and the hospitality was unmatched. I give 5 stars for all in. My youngest son said. That guy is a good man! And I agree if you’re looking for good service and great food. Stop here! You won’t regret it.”
“ok this pizza is better then most pizza places cuz with the pizza u get to cook it ur self and its already made for u and all u have to do is go down there and pick it up and every time i go there with a friend who ever is in the front is very nice and i would recommend it to any one who lives in alameda”
“Great location and selection of food and the selection is expanding from what I hear! Kid friendly and a great place to have birthday parties, happy hours, or for any reason. Indoor and outdoor seating options (dog friendly outdoors). They also have lots of TVs for MMA, European, Cricket, and all sports fanatics, inclusive of Baseball, Basketball, and Football! VJ’s also has a FULL COCKTAIL BAR! Great beer selection as well! The owner and his staff are all great. Come by and check out VJ’s! It’s next to the UPS Store at Marina Village.”
“First time here and probably last time too. I hella liked how the inside was decorated reminded me of a restaurant in Japan. Kinda disappointed though. I hella love sushi. But the sushi selection was small. Nothing caught my eye. The only thing I did enjoy with my meal was the ikura. The waitress’s don’t even check up on you to see how your doing. We we’re seated all the way in the back. I asked for more water and it never came. And for those 2 reasons I won’t come back.”
“I’ve been coming here for years and it has been my favorite. I work across the street so my colleagues and I love coming here for breakfast or lunch. The owners are so kind and sweet and always in the happiest mood. I highly recommend their open faced lox bagels and their hot link bagel dogs .”
“Very good meal, service was great, I'll definitely be back.”

“Today we went to nations with my family and our experience was so incredible my children and my wife were happy to return to nations and enjoy the breakfasts and the delicious harvester and their fries we love nations for their variety of food and Jenifer has been great we will return soon”
“I really like this place. I always feel welcomed and it's a great place to chill out and have a drink. No muss, no fuss deal. The place can get crowded on a good night and also be lively in the daytime at lunch. Pool table, maybe some days, and good music creates a positive fun vibe. Also, It's a puppy palace! Dogs welcome, keep them close/on leash and be respectful, people love to see them and interact. Take a friend, go alone, whichever it is, I hope you enjoy. Appetizer like food is prepared and served until 9 or 10pm, not sure which one it is.”
“The staff here are AMAZING! Is this a dive bar? Yes. Are they gonna look at you funny is you try to order a speciality cocktail that you’re used to getting downtown San Francisco? Yep. But that’s the whole point, you’re here to drink traditional and familiar fantastic drinks! I started coming here with friends a while back and over time many of the bartenders and other employees became like friends! As a woman I always felt safe as they had their eye on everything going on, and I always had a blast anytime I came. Specifically, Peppi and Michelle, really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I had to move away and they spent money out of their own pockets to throw my a going away party at the bar. I have never experienced a closeness like this to an establishment where I’m a guest, and it was very appreciated. I am moved away now and very much miss the service and atmosphere I had at Lucky 13!”
“We visited Alameda in April to attend a celebration of life for a family member that we lost suddenly. Our family was in town from all over the country, and we found Cafe Jolie Petit near our hotel. They took such great care of us, fed us meals on three or four consecutive days, and we could not have asked for better service or food during an emotional time. Pastries (Koiugn Amann!), Monte Cristo, and the coffee bar were our favorites, but everything we had was delicious. We hope to be back for happier circumstances at some point, and definitely will return!”
“As the namesake implies, it's just your average blue collar type 'corner' bar, and that's part of the charm. Not trendy, not bougie, great modern jukebox with priority streaming of your favorite songs, for a slight fee of course. Would you have ever imagined that one day your childhood jukebox experiences that forged statements like "ugh, who put this one on? they probably already left and now we have to listen to this cr@p before our song" and to further shape our complaint into creative criticisms to "one day manifest our desired wishes for the day we could override and be played next"... Well friends that day had come! Ok, it's been around a while now but I don't go out very often so it's new news to me and you know what Gary Gnew said? " No gnews, is good gnews, this is Gary Gnew, goodnight". The peeps are mellow, the drafts are cold, they have a decent billiard table with a sign up board (formerly this was a couple quarters shoved under the lip on the table) and it's only $1.00 a game and there isn't some hot shot hogging the table making themselves feel good by running the table against people just trying to have a good time.”

Cheap Eats
“My Mother and I enjoy eating here periodically. She loves their thick, Belgian waffles while I usually opt for the sausage only or sausage and mushroom omelet with tater tots. I cannot eat the entire omelet so I take half of it home for breakfast the next day. Service is quick and friendly and prices are reasonable. A nice, low-key gem in Alameda.”

“I went to the post office next door and decided to go in to buy some curry to make chicken with curry, and I found a small restaurant there. I decided to have lunch there; the food was typically Indian, with Indian spices. For my palate, it was strong because it was spicy, and I have stomach problems with spicy food. For those who like well-made and clean homemade Indian food, I recommend the place; it's clean, the food is clean, and the preparation is clean.”

“Was looking for a place to eat on my birthday new years day, my stepbro picked it out, he said he ate there 20 yrs ago, I was reluctant as it looked outdated and empty, but I was surprised when the food came in quickly, the staff was friendly and the plates of food were huge! I kept asking my bro if he accidentally ordered family size, nope. We ordered egg rolls, 1 order must have had 10 pieces! Delicious spare ribs, wonton soup, honey walnut prawns (jumbo!) Mongolian beef, they gave us almond cookies instead of fortune, that was a nice change, there was so much food leftover to take home, I'll be going back, I don't know how they can afford to give so much for so little $, very reasonable.the only thing was the place was so cold, we were both freezing. no heat!”

“Love the whole vibe. Recently, my whole family did a challenge to try every burrito on the island, and TACO FINO's cali burrito came out on top. Putting tater tots into a burrito is genius! Elizabeth and Sawyer like the bridge with all the unique trucks and cars. For being only around a year old, this restaurant has left my kids waiting for the next time we have takeout. 5/5 on everything. ⭐”
“The Biscoff latte is AMAZING — not too sweet and you can definitely taste the good coffee in it. I went here everyday while I was staying in the area.
The indoor dining is cozy and the outdoor area is a nice spot to chill and sip your coffee in the morning. There’s a kiosk inside for self-order which is a plus for me as well.”
“Wow, I’m so glad we found this place!
I ordered a Matcha ice cream crepe and my friends got Berry Bliss — plus an ice cream float that I didn’t get a pic of. The cashier gave us plates and spoon and said “You’re going to need this for when the ice cream melts!” Which was pretty funny and unexpected. It saved us though, because that ice cream will melt and drip from the bottom of the crepe cone.
10/10 taste! We got here at around 8pm, so it wasn’t too busy. They also have a little photoshoot area with props and accessories.”
“Very pleasent community hangout to watch sports and have a pint. There are a few outside games. Food at Southeren is a bit pricey, but the quality is high. The inside bar looked stock with a wide variety of beer and such to suit all tastes. On a random Saturday afternoon there were quite a few young kids acting like young kids do.”
“Jollibee is a well-loved fast-food chain known for its sweet and savory Filipino-style flavors. Their Chickenjoy is crispy on the outside and juicy inside, especially when paired with their flavorful gravy. The **Jolly Spaghetti** stands out for its sweet sauce, hotdogs, and cheese, making it unique compared to traditional spaghetti.
The **Yumburger** is simple but tasty, while the **peach mango pie** is a crispy and sweet dessert favorite. The food is affordable, filling, and usually served hot and fresh.
Overall, Jollibee offers delicious comfort food that reflects Filipino taste, making it a great choice for a quick and satisfying meal.”
“I've gotten food here before and it was good. This time I came in on Sunday for the beignets. There was no filling inside so it was alright. The young black guy and Asian girl was very nice as well as Hispanic man who's the cook. Some good folks here, I'll be back. Definitely recommend.”
“The staffs were nice. We were greeted and offered seats right away.
What we ordered:
Seafood Pancake- It was pretty good, a bit thicker than other places and sauce was okay.
Donkatsu- The pork was good and portion was good for the price.
Pork Belly BBQ- It was a tab dry and a bit bland. Wasn’t my favorite.
Banchan- The plates are cute but made the portion of banchan very small. Banchan were good, we had to ask for extra.
Would come again if I’m in the area and try something different.”
“Little Caesars had a small mix-up with my order, but Prakash handled it wonderfully! He was super friendly and told me to come back anytime to get my pizza made perfectly—no hassle at all. Customer service like this really makes a difference. I left feeling appreciated, and I can’t wait to go back. Big thanks to Prakash and the team for turning a little mistake into a great experience!”
