“Wonderful hospitality and warmth coming from the Host Ty Do letting me know more about the Cambodian culture. And BIG Wow on the Sea Food dish: 637. SALMON IN GARLIC BASIL WINE SAUCE : Poached salmon topped w/ roasted garlic, basil, & black mushroom in reduced wine sauce. It's divine! It's my new hot restaurant spot in The Little Town of Alameda.”
“The service was amazing from start to finish, and the food was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were delightfully boozy and well-crafted, making them the perfect complement to the meal. Dessert was especially memorable, with multiple layers and components that came together in a unique and interesting way.
My only regret is not calling ahead for a reservation on a Friday night, as the restaurant was understandably busy. I'll definitely be planning ahead next time because I will absolutely be coming back!”
“The food was great, the service was excellent, I was very satisfied”
“Final date night before flight home tomorrow. Sausage plate. The British bangers are super flavorful and juicy, goes great with the spicy mustard sauce! The bratwurst is perfect with the kraut and horseradish. The smoked bison is a bit on the dry and spicy side. Reminds me of a Slim Jim. I wish I tasted more bison, but it's still good. The herbed goat cheese and lavash bread is to die for! The herbs are perfectly balanced with the cheese and spreads so easily on the bread! All paired perfectly with Zin-phomaniac red wine!”

“Excellent unique bbq meant for take out. Pricey but so worth it. Hit the line when it opens to assure food availability. I suggest older folks bring a stool. They sell until tgey run.out of food, but they do warn the line when it gets close. You might be able to eat next door with outside tables and get yourself a beer. The dino ribs are amazing, and massive. Sides are quite tasty.”
“Over in San Francisco from Perth Australia and popped in for a couple of beers, awesome spot and great beers, staff were super friendly and even grabbed some merch, get yourselves over and support these guys and have a cracking pint or four”

“I stumbled upon this place about two months ago, and I’m so glad I did!
First off, the chef is incredibly down to earth and friendly. You can tell he’s truly passionate about what he does and it absolutely shows in his food. Hands down, this is the best chicken I’ve ever had. The flavors are amazing, everything is fresh and it’s all made to order.
I wish I had a photo to share, but the food is so good I never even get the chance to take one before digging in! This has quickly become a weekly lunch date for my husband and me and we look forward to it every time.”

“We initially tried to come here on a Friday at 7 PM but there seemed to be a long wait so we decided to check it out on a Wednesday and we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. This location was originally a Taco Bell, but I love the atmosphere there, friendly, good service and comforting food! It's a cozy place perfect for a cold wintry day to have your own little boiling hot pot of tasty broth and hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Hubby ordered the Lau Pork Bone Marrow and I had the Lau Oxtail. I ordered the Oxtail without the tripe, just more oxtail! The hot pot came out boiling with oxtail and beef balls. All I had to do was cook the egg noodles, taro, tofu, cabbage, veggies into the soup as there was plenty of delicious oxtail and meat balls in the delicious broth! Great for a bone chilling night! Next time I'd love to try the shaken beef!”
“Afternoon tea. Interesting experience. Recommend reservations. We went here recently (brother recommended this place). The place was quaint. We selected the tea for one. Each of us chose 2 sandwich flavors and a pot of tea. I got the flowering tea, it has a mild flowery taste and is visually pleasing. Sandwiches were an interesting experience. The coconut jam was surprisingly good. I personally got the meatfloss and the turkey with Brie and fig jam. The turkey was somewhat sweet. The scone was good too, along with the savory canapé. Dessert was good. I’ll have to come back again with my spouse and friends next time.”

“Great variety of tasty dishes on the menu and the food was delicious! I loved the “secret” specials - you need to ask to find out what they are. Fun cocktail options. And, all of the dessert options were awesome! My fav was the cheeseburger - YUM! I would definitely go back!”

“Five stars for Liz! She managed our party of six with grace and genuine warmth. The service was attentive, the food was fantastic, and the overall experience was top-notch. We’re already looking forward to our next visit—ask for Liz if you want the best service in the house!”
“Faction Brewing is a wonderful, local brewery! On a perfect day, enjoy a beer or cider on their patio overlooking the San Francisco Bay and city skyline. Catch it on a gloomier day and you can still enjoy a crafted beverage in their large indoor spaces. We host our annual donation drive here in the spring and the staff is always so fantastic. Highly recommend Faction Brewing!”
“January 2025:
Stopped by for Saturday lunch and tried the fried chicken with fried rice. Fried chicken came with a flaky breading. The fried rice was very tasty. The dish came with a little sweet chili dipping sauce for the fried chicken. Complimented the chicken nicely.
The brunch items looked pretty good. Next time, I may try the french toast.
Service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back again for more delicious food.”
“Very cool, chill vibe here. Lots of seating and had a non-beer option (me not being a huge beer fan). Had a long day and was wanting to kill time, so boyfriend and I went in to sit down and the bartender was super chill and was willing to chat as well. Definitely would recommend! Thanks!”
“This place serves joy by the cup and happiness by the bite. The coffee? Bold enough to turn any morning around. The tea? A perfect hug in a mug, no matter the weather. And the pastries? Golden, flaky bites of pure magic that might just ruin other desserts for you. The vibe is cozy, the staff is friendly, and my taste buds are still doing a happy dance. 10/10, would abandon my kitchen for this place again.”

“Great beer selection, friendly staff and sunny warm patio to enjoy it all.”

“The food was good, nice and hot. I didn't like the fact that in the window and on the sign it had the same price, when I got my receipt I was charged more..When I asked to speak to a manager the lasy couldn't speak good english and she didn't understand me at all.”

“Reasonably priced tasty dinner of Shanghai Soup Dumplings, Sweet fried chicken wings, and beef stew noodle soup. Delicate XLB and juicy. Wings were crunchy, meaty, and lightly battered and fried. It’s one of our “go to places” for Chinese food in Alameda. Small local neighborhood place with nice service.”
“I can not express how impressed and blown away I was visiting Neptune’s today “on accident”. I was driving past neptunes today and we ran into car trouble right in front. We got out and pushed the car into the nearest parking lot which happened to be neptunes. We had just bought a used car in the neighborhood and was trying to make it home and the battery just died. We spent some time pulling out the battery and ran next door to the auto parts store to buy a new one. Out of the blue an employee walked us out some water and said “I saw you out here and it’s hot. Wanted to give you some water and ask if you needed help. “ blown away by his kindness I thanked him but we had it covered. Once we got the battery replaced I decided to get breakfast from Neptune’s to show my thanks for their hospitality. Wow was I blown away. The breakfast was amazing , the coffee on point and the hospitality was unmatched. I give 5 stars for all in. My youngest son said. That guy is a good man! And I agree if you’re looking for good service and great food. Stop here! You won’t regret it.”
“Great location and selection of food and the selection is expanding from what I hear! Kid friendly and a great place to have birthday parties, happy hours, or for any reason. Indoor and outdoor seating options (dog friendly outdoors). They also have lots of TVs for MMA, European, Cricket, and all sports fanatics, inclusive of Baseball, Basketball, and Football! VJ’s also has a FULL COCKTAIL BAR! Great beer selection as well! The owner and his staff are all great. Come by and check out VJ’s! It’s next to the UPS Store at Marina Village.”
“First time here and probably last time too. I hella liked how the inside was decorated reminded me of a restaurant in Japan. Kinda disappointed though. I hella love sushi. But the sushi selection was small. Nothing caught my eye. The only thing I did enjoy with my meal was the ikura. The waitress’s don’t even check up on you to see how your doing. We we’re seated all the way in the back. I asked for more water and it never came. And for those 2 reasons I won’t come back.”
“This family-owned sandwich shop has been a neighborhood staple for over thirty years. The owner and staff are consistently kind, helpful, and efficient. While the menu is simple, it features a standout turkey salad sandwich, in addition to other classics like pastrami, roast beef, vegetarian, and egg salad sandwiches. Although parking can be a challenge, the food is well worth the trip.”
“the food was amazing!! service was great and the food came out quick!! u definitely recommend this place!!”
“Tempura, so crispy. Miso cod, sake toro. I also would like to to recommend the different tastings like the nigiri tasting, the sashimi tasting and also the salmon tasting. They also have raw oysters presented in Japanese style, so good.”

“I really like this place. I always feel welcomed and it's a great place to chill out and have a drink. No muss, no fuss deal. The place can get crowded on a good night and also be lively in the daytime at lunch. Pool table, maybe some days, and good music creates a positive fun vibe. Also, It's a puppy palace! Dogs welcome, keep them close/on leash and be respectful, people love to see them and interact. Take a friend, go alone, whichever it is, I hope you enjoy. Appetizer like food is prepared and served until 9 or 10pm, not sure which one it is.”
“Great bagel shop enjoyed by the whole family. The owners/staff are friendly, considerate, and attentive. They have an excellent selection of gluten-free bagels, which I appreciate. Atmosphere is basically what you’d expect from a bagel shop. It would be nice if there was a little bit of sunshade for the outdoor seating, but that doesn’t prevent me from enjoying Levy’s on a regular basis.”
“Today we went to nations with my family and our experience was so incredible my children and my wife were happy to return to nations and enjoy the breakfasts and the delicious harvester and their fries we love nations for their variety of food and Jenifer has been great we will return soon”
“The staff here are AMAZING! Is this a dive bar? Yes. Are they gonna look at you funny is you try to order a speciality cocktail that you’re used to getting downtown San Francisco? Yep. But that’s the whole point, you’re here to drink traditional and familiar fantastic drinks! I started coming here with friends a while back and over time many of the bartenders and other employees became like friends! As a woman I always felt safe as they had their eye on everything going on, and I always had a blast anytime I came. Specifically, Peppi and Michelle, really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I had to move away and they spent money out of their own pockets to throw my a going away party at the bar. I have never experienced a closeness like this to an establishment where I’m a guest, and it was very appreciated. I am moved away now and very much miss the service and atmosphere I had at Lucky 13!”
“We visited Alameda in April to attend a celebration of life for a family member that we lost suddenly. Our family was in town from all over the country, and we found Cafe Jolie Petit near our hotel. They took such great care of us, fed us meals on three or four consecutive days, and we could not have asked for better service or food during an emotional time. Pastries (Koiugn Amann!), Monte Cristo, and the coffee bar were our favorites, but everything we had was delicious. We hope to be back for happier circumstances at some point, and definitely will return!”

“As the namesake implies, it's just your average blue collar type 'corner' bar, and that's part of the charm. Not trendy, not bougie, great modern jukebox with priority streaming of your favorite songs, for a slight fee of course. Would you have ever imagined that one day your childhood jukebox experiences that forged statements like "ugh, who put this one on? they probably already left and now we have to listen to this cr@p before our song" and to further shape our complaint into creative criticisms to "one day manifest our desired wishes for the day we could override and be played next"... Well friends that day had come! Ok, it's been around a while now but I don't go out very often so it's new news to me and you know what Gary Gnew said? " No gnews, is good gnews, this is Gary Gnew, goodnight". The peeps are mellow, the drafts are cold, they have a decent billiard table with a sign up board (formerly this was a couple quarters shoved under the lip on the table) and it's only $1.00 a game and there isn't some hot shot hogging the table making themselves feel good by running the table against people just trying to have a good time.”
“Tahina is an abslute delight for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful Mediterranean cuisine! Every dish is packed with vibrant ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors that leave a lasting impression.
The falafel is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, while the hummus is incredibly smooth and rich—some of the best you’ll ever have. Everything tastes fresh, healthy, and made with care.
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff are warm and welcoming, making the experience even better. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or a relaxed meal, Tahina is a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended!”

“I went to the post office next door and decided to go in to buy some curry to make chicken with curry, and I found a small restaurant there. I decided to have lunch there; the food was typically Indian, with Indian spices. For my palate, it was strong because it was spicy, and I have stomach problems with spicy food. For those who like well-made and clean homemade Indian food, I recommend the place; it's clean, the food is clean, and the preparation is clean.”
Cheap Eats
“My Mother and I enjoy eating here periodically. She loves their thick, Belgian waffles while I usually opt for the sausage only or sausage and mushroom omelet with tater tots. I cannot eat the entire omelet so I take half of it home for breakfast the next day. Service is quick and friendly and prices are reasonable. A nice, low-key gem in Alameda.”

“Was looking for a place to eat on my birthday new years day, my stepbro picked it out, he said he ate there 20 yrs ago, I was reluctant as it looked outdated and empty, but I was surprised when the food came in quickly, the staff was friendly and the plates of food were huge! I kept asking my bro if he accidentally ordered family size, nope. We ordered egg rolls, 1 order must have had 10 pieces! Delicious spare ribs, wonton soup, honey walnut prawns (jumbo!) Mongolian beef, they gave us almond cookies instead of fortune, that was a nice change, there was so much food leftover to take home, I'll be going back, I don't know how they can afford to give so much for so little $, very reasonable.the only thing was the place was so cold, we were both freezing. no heat!”

“Just ate here for the first time, And all i can say is dont listen to the negative comments! This place has amazing sushi. Its alittle pricey but the Rolls are Huge and totally worth the money! Also a decent selection! Deffinantly would be a place to stop. Plus theres a beach right across the street to walk on!”
“Very nice place but the food came to me when they wanted to take it apart that I noticed that the managers a boy and another girl playing with the employees and my food did not arrive and then between them manager kissing I don't understand how the managers instead of setting an example make the scandal it's not the first time I see that the managers are touching and kissing and screaming they should put good rules and they shouldn't work couples because they start kissing they should do it at home 😒😒😒”
“We just went for our 3rd visit over the weekend, and they have hit the mark for me every time.
Our first visit back in December had a bit of a wait as there were many big parties, but it honestly wasn't bad/long. Other visits have had no waiting times.
Order at the counter or on your phone from QR codes on your table - there's a big menu on one wall and typical menu sized copies at the counter. The staff is overall great - there's a particular young man who treats us so well and gets us whatever we need every time.
The music can definitely be on the louder end and varies, but it completely adds to the experience! I love that I feel like I can let a wall down, do my little happy dances in my seat, and enjoy their delicious food and drinks.
We absolutely love: the garlic noodles, the chicken wings (with General Tsos sauce) are out of this world, the Monkey King fried rice, and we just tried their calamari which was delish!
Definitely a one of a kind place with spectacular food, great portions and good service. Thanks Monkey King team!”

“Good assortment of house made dim
Sum. I had egg rolls and sticky rice in lotus leaf, a few times there. Easy to order at the counter, short wait for food , in a clean environment, with limited amount of tables, inside/outside
Friendly staff. Two blocks from the Alameda Farmers Market.”
“Different name same/similar menu to previous restaurant. Something is lacking but not sure what entirely. Food options didn't wow me. Had the sweet and savory toast. They were just alright. Seems like a great spot for folks who want to work and have a coffee. Probably not somewhere I'd return.”
“Wow, I’m so glad we found this place!
I ordered a Matcha ice cream crepe and my friends got Berry Bliss — plus an ice cream float that I didn’t get a pic of. The cashier gave us plates and spoon and said “You’re going to need this for when the ice cream melts!” Which was pretty funny and unexpected. It saved us though, because that ice cream will melt and drip from the bottom of the crepe cone.
10/10 taste! We got here at around 8pm, so it wasn’t too busy. They also have a little photoshoot area with props and accessories.”
“Loved this place and the food was so good!! I'm lucky it's located in Alameda, not too far away. Spam musubies were on point, as well as that ube waffle and pog mimosa! I will definitely be trying everything on the menu. Atmosphere was great and warped me back to my time in the islands.”
“I've gotten food here before and it was good. This time I came in on Sunday for the beignets. There was no filling inside so it was alright. The young black guy and Asian girl was very nice as well as Hispanic man who's the cook. Some good folks here, I'll be back. Definitely recommend.”
“Jollibee is a well-loved fast-food chain known for its sweet and savory Filipino-style flavors. Their Chickenjoy is crispy on the outside and juicy inside, especially when paired with their flavorful gravy. The **Jolly Spaghetti** stands out for its sweet sauce, hotdogs, and cheese, making it unique compared to traditional spaghetti.
The **Yumburger** is simple but tasty, while the **peach mango pie** is a crispy and sweet dessert favorite. The food is affordable, filling, and usually served hot and fresh.
Overall, Jollibee offers delicious comfort food that reflects Filipino taste, making it a great choice for a quick and satisfying meal.”
“Little Caesars had a small mix-up with my order, but Prakash handled it wonderfully! He was super friendly and told me to come back anytime to get my pizza made perfectly—no hassle at all. Customer service like this really makes a difference. I left feeling appreciated, and I can’t wait to go back. Big thanks to Prakash and the team for turning a little mistake into a great experience!”
“The staffs were nice. We were greeted and offered seats right away.
What we ordered:
Seafood Pancake- It was pretty good, a bit thicker than other places and sauce was okay.
Donkatsu- The pork was good and portion was good for the price.
Pork Belly BBQ- It was a tab dry and a bit bland. Wasn’t my favorite.
Banchan- The plates are cute but made the portion of banchan very small. Banchan were good, we had to ask for extra.
Would come again if I’m in the area and try something different.”
“Utmost delightful culinary experience...the detail and most importantly the amazing taste of fresh seafood was eye opening....and words can't describe the Wagyu nigiri.”
