“So glad to find out they reopened after being closed a while during the pandemic. Currently you have to pre-order a day in advance for pickup so it takes a little planning but so worth it.Their fried chicken is so crispy. I ordered it with waffle fries and they say they only fire up the fries just before your pickup time so that they're fresh. When I went to pick up my order, they let me know it would just be a few minutes because the fries were finishing and when he came out with my order, he said he accidentally made the salad but included both the fries and salad and threw in a vanilla pudding. Everything was so delicious. Even the bonus pudding had flecks of vanilla bean and tasted so much better than the instant stuff. The chicken and fries were enough for 2 meals.”

“Here's my one millionth review. I freaking love this place. I can cook my own dan dan noodles, but I can't get my soup buns as delicious as theirs. So I come here and get both. With a side of their chili garlic sauce and szechuan sauce. It's my go to meal. I've been trying new restuarants lately but I always regret not going here for my tried and true good meal. Don't want Dan Dan....get their smoked bamboo and cured pork belly noodle dish. These folks flavors are the best. Eat inside for a chill experience and watch the fantastic cooking on the TV screen, or take to go and get impeccable service everytime. I've wasted some money this week on subpar food, but four hours later, I'm still thinking about these hands down, no contest, delicious dishes. And EVERYTIME someone is visiting me, I get them an order of the soup buns (best once you've let them cool down) and I've never had a single person disappointed by the delicious and often hot experience. THE BEST. The new dumpling place around the corner has a good chengdu noodle if you want vegetarian and they also have soup buns, but Special Noodle is still my fave.”

My husband tried the ribs which he said were the best he’s ever had and half the serving went home with him. It was huge! Desserts are exceptional especially the flan. When I got there I had to wait a minute, because they were busy but it wasn't long. They gave me an extra Thai iced tea on the house, I didn't need it. Yet it shows the type of business I'm eating at. The ambiance is very welcoming. The art work on the walls of the culture is beautiful. “I've been here with my partner a few times and it has always been a nice treat. The service and staff has always been super friendly and fast! I understand the QR code ordering can still be a shock to some, but I can say it has improved since the first time we've used it a few years back. It's fast, clear and I find it more convenient as I can always add to the order at anytime.

We were a party of 4 with one who only eats veggies. We ordered a split pot, premium beef combo, the big veggie combo, lotus, noodles, and fried tofu. The choices of broth are plenty. The mild, to me, is a bit spicier than usual so if you're not used to it, I suggest the normal broth and just add a little hot oil to your liking. That was perfect to start our table off. We added a couple of items later, but that was a good portion for 4 people. Lots of ingredients and broth choices. If you like more customization to your hot pot rather than an all you can eat business model, this place may be a better choice and in some cases, a better value.

After having been there more than a handful of times, I can safely say that I've never had a bad experience there. Always a great date night for me and my partner. With businesses coming and going in today's climate, I'm always happy to see this little corner spot in the mall still serving.

Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options ala carte! My partner is vegetarian. The problem with all you can eat business model is that she can't eat most of the stuff yet paying a premium price. This place offers ala carte so we can do a split pot. She orders the veggies for her side and i can eat the meats on my side. Works out for the both of us!”

“Gotta get seafood. It’s in the name of the business. I had one shrimp taco and one fish taco. Both proteins were fried and breaded with an ample amount of slaw on top. Really good flavors. I preferred the shrimp since the texture was nice and bouncy, but the fish was good too.

There is a small tented area with two four-top tables. Other than that, I guess you gotta take it to go.

The staff was incredibly nice. Great service. I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu. A great addition to the neighborhood. In a sea of great taquerias and taco trucks in Richmond, you need to stand out and Mi Casita does just that.

UPDATE: Went back for a shrimp burrito and it’s fantastic. The shrimp is sautéed in this flavorful sauce. It’s up there with La Bamba’s shrimp burrito for sure.”

“What a hidden gem! I stopped by this little strip mall spot in Pinole not expecting much—and ended up having one of the best falafel and chicken plates I’ve had in a while.

The falafel? Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and clearly just made. None of that dry hockey puck nonsense. And the chicken was juicy, flavorful, and grilled to perfection—not the sad, dry chunks you sometimes get at these places.

Portion size was just right—enough to fill me up without needing a nap afterward. And the price? Let’s just say my wallet didn’t cry.

The tacos de asada are a can't-go-wrong classic and I appreciate the mix of carrots, radishes, onions and peppers that complement each dish. Fully eat the quesadillas while they are warm; don't save to reheat this selection, as it's cheese is much better freshly cooked. The quesabirrias hit the spot for me, too! I like the horchata the best of the aguafrescas that are all refreshing and not overly sweet. I like the doradito light-browning of some of the food selections, and the salsas are very tasty - I like the green sauce the best.
The staff members are keen to make the food as you like it and aim to get your meals to you with efficiency and a smile. They care!
Many people return here from what I've witnessed. The corner can be a bit windy on the straightaway from Civic Center to the West, but on a sunny day it can be great to borrow part of the bench and table to eat by the tropically-colored and decorated food truck. Some people choose to carefully dine in their cars for warmth, too, somewhat like a drive-up diner.

Parking: It's a small parking lot but since there aren't a lot of customers It's easy to get a parking spot and the food truck is right there inside the parking lot.

I can't believe some folks are giving low ratings for rising prices... It's the bay area! Everything's expensive and I'm sure his rent has been going up too. Have some empathy for independent shops! No, I've never thought this place was cheap but boba/bubble waffles aren't cheap anywhere else, especially at the large chain boba places.

Go here. The owner(s) are awesome (I think it's run by a couple - it's the same guy everytime I go) and the food and drinks are great. And the vibe is always right. Last time I went they were playing Cantonese Bon Jovi. Support local businesses!”

“I always stop by Sheng Kee Bakery whenever I visit 99 Ranch since they are in the same building. Great place for Taiwanese pastries and cakes. There are so many items I like here, especially the cream filled buns like the chocolate bun with cream, taro cream bun, and custard cream bun.

However, I highly recommend AVOIDING the Beef Curry filled Bun, there is very little beef curry filling inside (see pictures below).

They have a decent selection of cakes as well like their chestnut cake and the fruit cakes.”

“Closest spot from DeAnza HS for coffee. I ordered Vietnamese coffee - they should update the picture on the menu because it shows a 12oz cup. The size that came out is almost half the size but is normal when there’s less ice - people might not know this and complain. For me, I like it this way as you can taste the full flavor. Very clean space but a bit run down. I wish the employee was playing music, it was so quiet… maybe because it was the weekend and school isn’t in session/less student customers. Putting one star down because the last time I went, I got a passion fruit boba and it just tasted like sugar in water with no fruit-flavor. This Vietnamese coffee though was a good turn-around/choice and hit the spot!”

“Very solid tacos. I got carnitas and carne asada. I should have tried the al pastor.

The tacos were packed with meat, and the presentation was perfect with the jalapeno and grilled onions. I wish the salsa were spicier and the meat were a bit spicier but the carnitas was extremely juicy.”
