“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!“

“Happy Cooking does it again! Very special restaurant that will be my goto after BAM shows. They got range, baby! From one of the best executions of a Caesar salad I have ever had to an inventive mussel toast dish that smacks and crunches. As usual, the space, the staff, even the music choices are pitch perfect. But it really comes down to the people. Happy staff at happy cooking = awesome.“

“We came here on a Sunday early afternoon and had one of our best recent dining experience. We live close by so we went in hoping it would be a gem and it absolutely didnt dissappoint. The garlic naan might just be the best we’ve ever had. The mussels were very fresh and not sure if it’s the season but the flesh was super fat. The sauce it was cooked in was also very very good. Dipping the naan in that sauce was straight heaven. We also ordered the rotisserie chicken, which we thought was a bit pricey at first but man, it was cooked to absolute perfection. Crispy skin, JUICY all throughout, with grilled lemons and a decent sauce. The service was also phenomenal. Our server had great energy, and provided us the perfect balance of attentiveness and space.
The vibe of this place is also top notch. The modest exterior is only hiding the spaceous, modern, and elegant interior.
Overall, we could not be more thrilled about this find and will definitely be coming back to try their drinks and sea bass dish! Highly recommended for an absolute treat.“

“5 stars are not enough to tell you how good this place is. We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“My first visit in 2023 was the best meal I had ever had. My expectations were through the roof and they didn’t disappoint. Even with a new Chef, it was a fantastic dinning experience and I loved the new spin on each dish. I highly recommend and will be back on my next trip to NYC.“

“Prix fixe $75 pp ($60 on Tuesdays). All four courses were creative and delicious. Wines by the glass were nice. Portion size of the vegetarian entree option (gnocchi) felt a bit small compared to the roast chicken. Charming room, very kind service. 20% autograt applied to all checks. I'll be back.“

“Those in the know won't worry to much about 5 leaves not being rated a 4.5 or higher, why you ask? Because it really doesn't matter when the ricotta pancakes are THAT FREAKING GOOD! Seriously every 3rd person orders those pancakes. They also have a great Mocha and black kale salad. If you're not in the mood for sweet fair try the moroccan scramble which is perfect for something light but filling. I got the BLAT on my first visit and it was also good. Now if you're there for dinner been warned the burger is quite filling but it will be worth it even if you gotta waddle home.“

“Inga’s Bar does not serve bar food, really, despite the name and despite the cheeseburger on its menu — a very good and unpretentious one, on a soft toasted bun with white onions, crisp dill pickles, sweet bread-and-butter pickles and a stack of two pressed beef patties, each in its own shiny orange sheath of melted American cheese. You wouldn’t think it was out of place in the kind of tavern where mugs are kept in a freezer below the beer taps and the food is served in plastic baskets, unless you knew that the pickles are made on site. OK, the dark, from-scratch fries with freshly whisked mayonnaise might give the game away, too.“

“Great bartender! I go out a lot on my own and I love when restaurant workers ( shall I say actors in NYC) treat you with the utmost respect ! I only had the Baby Artichokes ( what's in that delish sauce, really????) and everything was great. Very smart people running this place! Please visit ! It's awesome ! Many thanks for letting me hang out while you were closing out!“

“Like most NYC restaurants, they really pack you in here. I was at a two top that was about a foot away from the next two top. We could hear our neighbors entire conversation but sometimes couldn't hear each other across the table. That said, the interior is light filled and airy feeling with its high ceilings. So a mixed bag on ambience. I got the shakshuka for brunch and it was very salty. There wasn't a ton of harissa flavor or other flavor besides the overwhelming saltiness. The eggs were a touch runny as well. My guest got sides of yogurt and sausage. She said the yogurt was very runny but taste was good. The sausage tasted homemade and had a nice and interesting spice balance. Not the best brunch spot I've tried but it wasn't bad either. If it's not busy, it'd probably be a good local option though I wouldn't travel for it.“

“Want to make your pallet dance? Of course you do! Boutros is the place to go from their tantalizing cocktails to their original baba ghanoush and falafel you’ll be simply amazed. Old school, traditional recipes with a twist of new flare. Mikey is a wizard for creating his cocktails. I had the pleasure of trying two of them that he created after thinking about them for 12 years and I highly recommend them the Garlic Gibson and the Bitter tree, both are amazing. Allen, who is the chef and owner and named this quaint little place after his dad will delight you with his specialties my Sister and I had the mushroom hummus. The short rib wraps are beautiful salad and baba ghanoush to name a few. Hurry up, you won’t be disappointed!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Nice place, nice location, friendly informative staff, great service, good food, good portions. Perfect dining experience. “Amazing. Stay away so there's more room for us.
If you do sneak in 😂 you will find friendly people serving OUTSTANDING food (small, careful menu) in a house that Jazz built.
Jazz folks this is the real deal. Everyone else should just come and enjoy the magic of live music.
Pro tip: come early for a seat for the 1st set or arrive late to get a seat by the 2nd set (most likely).
Vegetarian options: Small menu so check beforehand. My 2 vegetarians were fine.
Parking: If you circle they will appear
Kid-friendliness: If they like jazz (and can be quiet during the music) no problem!“

“Dilly Dally is exactly what’s needed on Vanderbilt and in Prospect Heights.
The vibe in the restaurant is Coming Soon (quirky, diverse art, fun light fixtures, great furniture, table settings) meets cool bar, and the staff are down to earth and attentive.
The food is pretty perfect. We had the bread, Caesar salad, meatballs, trout and skirt steak. All were perfect. The bread is crusty, so moist and paired with the butter is so good. The meatballs are wildly soft and decadent with a perfect red sauce. The mains are really well balanced and delicious.
We didn’t get the burger; the next time we go we will. I am skeptical about a $30 burger, but they’re doing all the right things!“

“Chill local spot worth going to even if you're not a local. The burger.... the burger, oh, and the burger. Did I mention the burger? Anyway, we had a bunch of other menu items, and everything is really, really good. We eat out a lot, and Swoonys definitely deserves a spot way up the list of places we really like a lot. Already well on our way to becoming regulars.“

“Amazing food at this female owned neighborhood place with great vibe. It’s funky in a good way and all are welcome—no snotty Bushwick thing here. The cocktails and French fries are what hooked me, but try any of the specials or anything off the menu and you won’t be disappointed. Everything is delicious!“

“Have been there a handful of times and always had good food and good times.
Got there on a Monday @ 5p when they opened figuring we would get a table easily … only to find a line halfway down the block. We still DID get a table but it was close!
Get the chicken parm and the mozz sticks.“

“My husband and I dined here during our visit to NYC. We came from the Cincinnati area and it was our first visit to the city. When planning the trip, Colonie caught my eye so we decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did, because it quickly turned into the absolute highlight of our trip and was an evening we won’t forget. The service is outstanding - each individual host made us feel like family. We were never short beverages, and our space at the chefs table was kept tidy at all times - no empty plates left behind. The sous chefs are impossibly talented at what they do and gave every single plate attention and care before it left their sight. And lastly, the Chef is a true artist and extremely kind, humble person. We were delighted when he walked over to pay a visit as it was our anniversary dinner. The food is layered with exquisite, complimentary flavors that are refined and articulate but also make these dishes relatable, familiar, and remarkable at the same time. As a couple traveling foodies, I can without a doubt say this is one meal you don’t want to miss when you visit NYC. I’m just waiting to visit again and see a Michelin star outside the entrance. Forever a staple every time we return to the city. Thanks Chef and crew for an unforgettable experience.“

“(Nov 2014) Uber cool high tech mod fitout and no shortage of opinionated beer nerds (complete with obligatory cult brewery t-shirts). Even at 2pm on a Sunday arvo. Doesn’t quite have the warm of a traditional US bar but still pretty friendly. Very international list with a focus on left of centre. Pricing on the high side but reflects the quality of the beers. Served via cabernet glasses - a nice touch. I really grew to like the place and they use a small space well. Can I say it reminds me of Two Row in Melbourne? And....btw....the only other bar I have ever seen where punters are punching out tasting notes!“

“We had an amazing experience here this evening. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing and chill. The simple artistic decor creates a serene atmosphere. The food is delicious. We especially loved the beef tartar, duck, miso cod, milk bread, and shirt rib. Sticky toffee pudding was rich, but somewhat delicate. Cocktails were well balanced. Everyone was extremely attentive and the attention to detail made the entire experience one to cherish. I highly recommend this place. It's tucked away, but worth the trip. Looking forward to our next visit!“
