βThe pizza was amazing! Thin crust, and great combination of toppings. Lines can be long, but they also have so many great options for baked goods in the bakery. We got there late so most things were sold out except the pizza, but we definitely will be back to try more. There is limited outdoor seating with some benches outside.β

βA very cozy place in the financial district. Even though we went on a weekend, there were still a lot of people working there. Their pour over coffee is reasonably priced and they also provide coffee beans in the shop. I like the paintings they have inside. The coffee also comes with a postcard telling us where the coffee beans come from and the history, which I think is very nice. If you like coffee, I recommend giving this place a try.β

βGot woken up early to get here before 9am for their BBQ pork buns that is super saucy and the bread extra squishy, just how I like it. Was told it still gets sold out by noon. The egg tarts are just as flaky and buttery like what I remember, flavor profiles still great withiut skimping on the ingredients. Food and music have the ability to bring back memories I have long forgotten, I bought a double order of them both and some.
A long standing neighborhood fixture in San Francisco's Richmond District, that opens before 8am and ia still a cash only establishment. The decor I dont think has changed from twenty years ago. just your no-frills staple with value for the quality and classic comfort. Nothing on the menu exceeds $4 still and the smell of their baked goods from a block away brings alot of memories back.
Everything made here to me is a reminder of comfort and memories. A cake can be just a cake, but it can also be a commemoration.β

βA delightful classic Chinatown bakery that looks like it hasn't changed in decades. They carry all the classics, though I'd recommend getting a cocktail bun (if you're lucky they'll still be warm from the oven). A few small stools and chairs inside, often with a bunch of old fellows sitting around talking. This place is great, don't change a thing β€οΈβ

βI am Italian. We passed by here by chance in 2017 and apparently 8 years later we are still talking about it. A dive into the past and a focaccia to remember; a bit on the soft side compared to the way we have them where I am from. Packed with care.β

βJane is my favorite bakery in San Francisco!! Wide variety of delicious pastries and amazing selection of bread - try the cardamom bun, pistachio strawberry Nutella tart and purple corn bread - also fresh salads and sandwiches.β
βHighly recommended. The almond croissant at Arsicault is something truly special.β

βI’d go as far as to say this is the best egg tart I’ve had in the Bay Area.
The pastry was crisp and flaky, while the custard inside was silky, creamy, and incredibly smooth. I do wish they were served warm rather than pulled from a pre-made batch, because that fresh-out-of-the-oven warmth would’ve taken them to another level !
That said, the balance was kind of impeccable. Not overly sweet, but not so restrained that it felt bland either. Nothing about it was particularly over-the-top, it was just really well executed.
Simple, balanced, and genuinely hard to fault.β

βDay Moon gives off a hipster SF vibe. Love how they have the little breakfast sandwiches (frittata) $13 ready for purchase as well as other pastries. I'm not a fan of waiting. My black coffee $4.50 tasted fine. There was only one person ahead of me at 10am. Day Moon is an excellent way to start a lazy Sunday morning.β

βI love stopping by on my way to work. I’m always there around 8am and the pastries are still warm! It’s a lovely atmosphere, with friendly employees, and delicious pastries and coffee. It’s normally around $12 for a pastry and latte. What more could you want?β

βAmazing! The best conchas (Mexican pastry) I've ever had and I've tried Mexico City's bests, including Tomasa (Eva Langoria's favorite conchas). I love that they're crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside, and perfectly sweetened. We ordered the Mango, Guava, Churros, Blue Corn, and Vanilla Bean. You can't go wrong with any of these. Note, if you buy five, you get the 6th one free!β

βArrived precisely for the morning launch sequence, and the doors opened promptly at 8:00 AM. As the first customer of the day, my initial inquiry was for a baseline butter croissant benchmark. The counter staff indicated they did not have any type of croissant.
Despite missing this standard lamination anchor, this artisan bakery operates at an exceptionally high technical level. The selections were packaged cleanly in a presentation box, though I noted minor structural compression on the Potato & Onion Bourek from the serving tongs. To be fair, the laminated pastry dough was so incredibly fragile, shattered, and delicate that picking it up without causing slight cosmetic damage would be an operational impossibility. Every single item tasted phenomenal and featured perfectly balanced macro textures.
Loquat is a vital, high-prestige asset in the San Francisco food scene. Whether you are seeking a high-caliber savory structure or a refined sweet profile, their menu geometry has you completely covered. The standout highlights of the audit were the savory bourek and the intricately decorated small Mahlab cake, though everything tried was excellent.
Parking: Exceptionally easy street parking directly along the Gough Street corridor during the early Sunday morning window.
Service: Professional, friendly, and welcoming employees.
Atmosphere: Clean morning ambiance with an inviting, well-lit interior layout.
An essential destination for anyone tracking the best bakeries in San Francisco.β

βGreat staff at this location. I visited in the afternoon on a Saturday so there was a line waiting to get into the bakery about 10 minutes. I purchased a small chocolate cake, 2 raspberry bombs and 2 chocolate chip cookies. All very different taste, and all VERY delicious!β

βThis is a bakery with a large Vietnamese section (banh mi) and sandwiches. The pastries we tried were fresh, buttery and flaky - perfect! The beef curry pastry was especially notable for its flavor. Service is prompt and friendly. The decor is nothing to write home about, but it doesn't matter since this is not a sit-down kind of place. No gluten free options available.β

βVictoria's is a jewel among many in North Beach, but might be one of the brightest. Pastries are all made in-house from Italian recipes over 100 years old. I find the Princess Cake to be absolute heaven, along with the Lavazza drip coffee. They also have an impressive gluten free cookie selection, which are scrumptious to even gluten eaters.
The staff are always so incredibly sweet and personable. Victoria's is a true treasure and deeply beloved, I see patrons returning from near and far, regularly!β

βOne65 was an amazing discovery on our trip to San Francisco. Having spent the first half of our life in MontrΓ©al, QuΓ©bec, Canada where it was hard to find a bad restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by this Bistro which looks more like a high end dining experience. The menu online & the photos attracted us to this location but we were amazed by the well timed service, the crisp white tablecloths, the table setting and the pleasant and calm atmosphere. My choices of charcuterie platter was perfectly sized; the chicken & the pork rillettes where a wonderful surprise. My husband had an onion tart with the crust as perfect as they get & which I envied. He loved his halibut, moist and tender and I raved over my grilled half lobster, so tender that I found myself munching on the shell parts as well. My bread pudding was not of overwhelming size & perfectly flavored. Don chose the Affogato (scoop of vanilla gelato Β« drowned Β» with a shot of hot espresso). We wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sundays.?β

βI love this co-op bakery, and I'm very happy that they have a selection of gluten free items that are often on the shelf next to each other. If you have Celiac Disease like me, that's music to your ears. As for the remaining items that are next to gluten full items, the gluten free items are at the end of the shelf allowing for selection of those items that have never been touched by gluten.β

βEverything I've ever had from here has been amazing, just scrumptious perfection. I used to live a block away and would go there more often, I've moved a bit further away now but returned today for lunch and sweet treats. The guava puff pastry I got today was sublime, the ganache brownie is my standby go-to, literally the best brownie I've ever had in my life. The soups are always exquisite. Just nice people, everything clean and fresh, a pleasant little community experience around the corner from where I grew up in my family home of 40 years. Coming to Patisserie on California always feels like coming home.β

βI'm hesitant to tell you how good the buckwheat financiers are, because they will likely sell out even faster, but they are remarkably good.
There's a reason there is almost always a line outside the door here. Great treats and coffee, along with quick, friendly service.

βThis place is a little shop that sells excellent croissants and other pastries. They also have sandwiches. All of their food is fairly priced. The service was okay. They have limited indoor and outdoo seating. Over all the food is good. We will definitely be back to try new pastries and sandwiches.β

βBest dim sum at bargain prices. Outstanding authentic at less than one third the price of pricier restaurants at high end Chinese restaurant. Highly recommend and clearly local favorite. Long lines can be seen at peak times but line moves quickly. Can eat in or take out. Mostly self serve with tables for dine in. Will definitely come again during our visit at SF. They are NOT closed on Monday and Tuesday as suggested by Google map.β

βπ»ππππππ πΎππππ ~ 'πππ πππ πΎπππππ (Sunday edition/addition) Okay, this one is completely not my fault. Whenever I do my laundry (Hey! I only have enough clean underwear to last me a month or so.) on Balboa Street in my neighborhood early on a Sunday morning (gotta make sure I am done by 10:00am for any NFL games that might be watchable... "Go, Bills!" today), I will normally head on over to Butter Love Bakeshop, which is just four to five blocks away along Balboa from the two laundromats closest to me, to get one or two of their awe-some fresh-baked items (and sometimes a cuppa Coffee[1] if I had not already made some earlier at home in the morning). Anyway, back to the π»ππππππ πΎππππ, this is a post about π»ππππππ πΎππππ (it sez so right in the d*rn title, after all). They always have some great baked goods from which to choose, and usually make them with whatever is seasonal, etc. If I do not see anything that completely catches my eye, I always get one of their Monkeybreads as a fall-back, which are very tasty all on their ownsome, anyway. However, this morning there were several good items that I had to make a decision which to get. I ended up going with a Pear Cuppie (they call 'em "Cuppies", but they are basically muffins) and an Apple-Cherry Scone. They also had an Ube Scone this morning, which I have had before, and knew to be very good, but Apple-Cherry always trumps Ube, Donald. When I ordered my Coffee, the lady at the front counter asked me if I wanted any cream or sugar with it. I gave her my normal rant, "Never ruin a good cuppa with cream and/or sugar!" to which I added jokingly, "... unless you happen to have any π»ππππππ πΎππππ cream to go with it." Well... the main baker-lady in the back overheard me and came out with a pastry cream bag-thingy and asked me if I would like some of the π»ππππππ πΎππππ cream filling that she was just getting around to filling the weekend doughnut special with... (No she didn'!!!) Apparently, I had arrived too early that they did not have the π»ππππππ πΎππππ doughnuts even prepared yet and in the front counter display case. So, of course, I not only took some of the offered π»ππππππ πΎππππ cream on top of my Coffee, but I also bought one of those doughnuts to enjoy later in the day. She even had to make it fresh-stuffed for me while I waited. Let's see Dunkin' Donuts do that kinda customer satisfaction! _____________________________ 1. They only have Mr. Espresso, which is a decent enough local Coffee. And they only offer it as regular Coffee only ~ black or with cream or sugar. No Lattes or Half-caff-caps here; it is a bakery, not some d*mn St*rbuckery joint. I forgot to ask what roast/blend they were pouring this morning, though. Mr. Espresso has their roastery over near Jack London Square. One of these days I really need to check out a mini-tour of their operations.β
