Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and prepared with great attention to detail. I especially loved the unique flavors and the authentic cultural experience. “One of the best Mediterranean food in Boise even the best! We had 2 plates: one is called Mushakal that includes chicken Shawarma, chicken taouk style (skewers) , hummus dip and salad! Second plate is called Ishtar which includes falafel, lamb kebab, chicken taouk, hummus dip and salad! Both were so delicious and both were served with rice spiced with Safran! Finally we had delicious baklava that was so tasty! I'm sure going back there! Very friendly owner and staff! Nice atmosphere! Fair prices! They have also a shop where you can buy Mediterranean grocery items, bread and other items! It is highly recommended!!!”

“One of favorite places too dine. Sorry no pics. Never think of it until too late. I had the Pho with short ribs. First time ordering. I usually try something different each time. The short rib melted in your mouth. It is a fusion Asian establishment so aside from sounding contradictory, it isn’t what I would consider authentic Pho. If you don’t smell like pho for a day or two, than I consider it American friendly. 🤓. It was still delicious and fresh ingredients. My wife has her staple Kao Sao (so?). Very tasty. The fresh rolls were also extremely fresh. Toffey (sp?) our hostess was awesome. She spent time with us discussing the menu and the chefs talents which we know first hand. Emily, our waitress was attentive and prompt and provided excellent service. We have never had a bad meal or service here.”

Drive thru service has been much faster lately. Always the same quality (yum). Thank you for draining the chicken more for the burritos, it used to drive me crazy how messy they would be and they haven’t been any more. Always love the red and green salsa too!”

“California Mexican Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I tried this Boise fast food Mexican restaurant today for the first time. I got the #18 combo, which is 2 Chile Rellenos, Rice & Beans with tortillas for a little less than $10. I went through the drive-through. The service was fast. I was impressed with the weight of the bag. I was even more impressed when I got back to my office and opened up the box. The food looked fantastic! I liked that the Chile Rellenos came with sour cream and a guacamole-like topping. They were made with nice sized poblano chilies. The flavor was good, and they were full of oozing cheese. If I was to rate these based on appearance and flavor, alone, I would rate them 4/5. However, the seeds were not removed from the poblano chilies before cooking them. Every single recipe I’ve seen for Chile Rellenos instructs you to remove the seeds. You don’t realize why that’s important until you get one with seeds. Eating a bunch of hard plant matter along with one’s Chile Relleno is not a pleasant experience. I’m not sure if this was a one off, or if this is how they normally prepare Chile Rellenos at California Mexican Food. The refried beans looked good, but they tasted sour. The rice was OK. I like that the meal comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas. I chose flour. The tortillas seemed thick and homemade.”

“Went in the day before Christmas Eve. Quick fast and hot. Honestly one of the better whopppers I’ve had in years. I know fast food can be hit or miss. Today shockingly was one of the better experiences I’ve had to end 2025.”

“I normally hate beer. All beer. I saw they had wine and hard cider, and immediately felt relieved that there was something I would enjoy drinking. However, upon looking at the list of available beers and their alluring descriptions, I asked if I could try a couple -- explaining my normal disdain for beer and love for more fruit drinks -- to just see if I could tolerate them. I was presented with three samples: a peach cream beer, an orange creamsicle beer, and a plum hard cider. I tried the first and was surprised to find that I actually didn't dislike it. Trying the second, I was so delighted that I enjoyed that one even more that I told them I would have that. Once they started pouring it, I realized I still had the cider. That cider is the best cider I think I have ever had in my life. I drank the orange creamsicle beer I ordered, but you can bet your bottom dollar I got that cider for the rest of the night! Top notch.

I'm addition to the incredible drinks they offer, sitting in the outside space felt roomy, comfortable, and all-around good. They are dog friendly (I saw dogs both inside and outside), which I LOVE, and they had the absolute GREATEST pizza food truck and cookie stand ever! This is an excellent space to grab some drinks with friends and family and just relax.”

“The last 5 years my husband and I have made this our go to restaurant for Afghani and Mediterranian food. Best naan in town--chewy, thick and flavorful. Service is excellent as always. Portions are generous. Our favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala. Sauce is truly exceptional. We'll keep going back as we have the last 5 years. 10 out of five”

Cheap and filling bargain rolls at bargain prices, you can get higher tier sushi other places but you cannot beat the prices here for the quality. If your trying to eat multiple rolls without breaking the bank this is the place to go. I had 3 specialty rolls, 2 orders of sashimi, and a beer and barely broke $40. Highly recommended!”

“Had breakfast this morning at at The Chef's Hut. I had no idea this restaurant was even here. I must say it was such a great experience. Loved the atmosphere, and the decorations were so cool. Wait staff was on point, our coffee was always full. Food came out quickly even though the place was busy. I had the eye opener for breakfast and I must say it was some of the best biscuits and gravy I have had. The rest of the food was top notch as well. If you want great food do yourself a favor and head to The Chef's Hut, you won't be disappointed. 10 out of 10.”

My youngest usually gets the chicken teriyaki combo, he loves it, you will NOT go hungry. I also love their selections of cold and hot sake. Just know, you can't make a reservation. You need to be on your game and hop on their waitlist if youre going for dinner (like, after 5pm).”

“This restaurant has a great location in downtown Boise, right on the corner of 8th St. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was spacious and clean. I got the crunchy chicken and vegetable combination. I went with a medium spicy sauce. The crunchy chicken was good, but I have a feeling the Koko (K-BBQ chicken) would be a little better. I'll have to try the Beef BBQ as well. Portion was good for the price, and they got the food out very quick. So, if you need to eat in a hurry downtown, this is a good option. I'm definitely going to kick up the spice level next time, because I do like my food and life spicy.”

Yesterday we placed a to go order at 3 pm and was told that it would not be ready to pick up until 7 pm, 4 hours later. That is not unusual and sometimes they stop on-line ordering several hours before closing. They either need more ovens, a better system or discontinue take out orders because on-line ordering for take out is very frustrating and annoying.”

“I popped into Stella’s late one afternoon on my way home from work, looking to treat myself with a pint of ice cream. I couldn’t decide between my usual go-to flavor of mint chocolate chip, or if I wanted to try something new. I wound up doing both and also got a pint of the All Nighter, a coffee-flavored ice cream. They even had peanut butter PUPsicles so I grabbed one of those for my dog. The gal at the counter (who was super helpful while I asked questions about the ice cream flavors) rang me up and I was on my way. I’m almost (but not entirely) embarrassed to admit that I didn’t make it home before I needed to try a bite of the ice cream. I was in standstill traffic, it was hot, and I had a spoon. Or so I thought. I was already committed at that point so I just took a little bite off the top of the opened pint. And another. And another. It was so good that I ate what I could reach without the use of a spoon, then I had to try the other flavor. Both were so good and creamy that I had to force myself to put the lids back on and save some for my husband. My dog is lucky I didn’t break into his pupsicle. Now to the pupsicle. I gave it to my dog as soon as I got home. His little mind was blown by the surprise treat and I sat on the floor with him, holding the pupsicle as he licked it. He didn’t stop until the ice cream was gone and once it was, he still had the cookie part to eat. He rated it 4 paws up and wants another. I will definitely be back to try all the flavors!”

We ordered burnt ends 3.5/5, Caesar salad 5/5, corn bread 3/5, turkey breast 4/5, mom’s potato salad 3.5/5, beans 4/5, baked potato 4/5, and berry cobbler 4.5/5. The only thing that would improve the atmosphere would be more cloth or sound deadening products to help with all the noise that happens when it’s packed full of people. It’s so busy sometimes that it’s tough to talk to and hear the people you are dining with. That is the only negative thing I can say. The food portions are generous, I often bring leftovers home for later. The food is excellent and my servers have always been attentive and nice.”

“One of the best Mediterranean food in Boise even the best! We had 2 plates: one is called Mushakal that includes chicken Shawarma, chicken taouk style (skewers) , hummus dip and salad! The latte I ordered was smooth and flavorful, clearly made with card; and the baked goods tasted fresh and homemade. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than you planned because the atmosphere is so comfortable.

What really stood out was the people. Even though every table was full and there was a steady line the entire time I was there (mid-morning on a Wednesday!), the barista still took the time to chat and ask about my day. That kind of genuine friendliness is rare.
