“I have been to Los Grullenses many times over the years, and it remains one of my favorite places in Salinas for tacos. It’s the kind of spot I keep coming back to when I’m craving good tacos.

My go to are tacos al pastor tacos and a chicken sope, and both were delicious. The corn tortillas for the tacos are grilled with some of the flavorful juices from the meat, which gives them an extra layer of flavor. The al pastor was juicy, well seasoned, and full of flavour, and the tortillas really helped bring everything together. The chicken sope was also very tasty. The sope itself had a nice little crispiness to it, the beans were good, and the chicken was flavorful and delicious. Everything is seasoned well, it really works. My husband ordered the tripas tacos, and these were probably the highlight of the meal. The tripas were crispy, flavorful, and cooked exactly the way we like them. If you enjoy tripas, this is definitely one of my favorite ways to have them. We also ordered Jamaica, which unfortunately was just okay. The biggest disappointment was that the drink was served warm despite having ice in it, so it wasn’t nearly as refreshing as it should have been.

Overall, the tacos are flavorful, the meats are cooked well, and the grilled tortillas make a noticeable difference. Definitely one of my go-to taco restaurants in Salinas, and I’ll continue coming back for those tripas and al pastor tacos!”

“Service was slow. Had to ask for kids menu. 60% of the entrees were delivered and we had to wait for the 2 remaining orders (pizza) which were not delivered at the same time. Had to ask multiple times for additional rounds of beer. Water glasses weren't refilled during our entire meal. Room was stuffy. No air circulation and noticed the overhead fans were not operating. Food was good.”

“Every single time I go to this restaurant, the food is excellent! Ana is the best server! My family and extended family love, love, love everything we have tried. My current favorite is Hunan Beef. The Singapore Rice Noodles are great, eggplant, every variation of rock cod, Peking pork… They can vary any dish to your liking. The lunches are a good deal, enough food for two meals for me. However, going with my family and getting a variety of dishes is what we like the best. Usually there are six to eight of us and we get to eat all of our favorites.”

“We have been coming here for years and our experience has always been wonderful. To start with, when you arrive, you are seated immediately. Menus have many delicious options for Vietnamese food, and one thing I personally recommend is the #50. Portions here are large and we are satisfied every time we come here. Their ambiance here is okay and though this place can feel old and rundown at certain times.

In addition, along with the normal sodas, they have a few shakes though last time I went recently they didn’t have boba. Service here is great and usually doesn’t take long though employees can be a bit hard to understand sometimes due to their accents. Prices here are pretty reasonable, especially with the portions you get and restrooms, while not the cleanest, are fine.”

The bagels are incredibly fresh with the perfect balance of a crisp exterior and soft, chewy inside. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Everyone is genuinely friendly, welcoming, and makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. The service is fast, the atmosphere is warm, and you can tell they take pride in what they do.

It’s the kind of local business that’s easy to support because they consistently deliver great food and great customer service. It was so loud my husband and I had to lean across the table and almost shout to hear eachother. Food was ok, not good enough to make a special trip for. Service...about 80% self serve, and had to chase down someone if we ever needed anything.”

“I got the birra torta here and two tacos al pastor. The tacos were good but the torta was surprisingly delicious upon first bite due to the quality of the birria. The overall taste profile at this location is balanced and deep, meaning it is well-seasoned and flavorful without being excessive or greasy. It is food that can be eaten every day without feeling overloaded. It is also at a very nice location next to a park and lots of trees.

I randomly met the owner one day prior at an unrelated place, and I can see that there is a reason he confidently invited me to try his food, where his lovely wife operates the business and cooking! It is because he knows he can deliver a great food experience! Through word of mouth, I know that I am not the only one who liked the torta here.

There is quite an extensive menu, and I will definitely be back to try more items. I highly recommend the birria. Overall a great spot!”

“I don’t know about you guys, but y’all seriously need to give my girl Rachel a raise. She has some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. From the very first time I came in, she was so welcoming, helpful, and easy to talk to. She actually takes the time to have conversations with customers instead of just rushing everyone through the line, and that really makes people feel comfortable.

She did an amazing job taking my order, made sure everything was right, and constantly checked that I had everything I needed. Even though we had never met before, she treated me with so much kindness and respect.
