Paper Dosa 551 W Cordova Rd, Santa Fe Indian • $$

“This place is ridiculously DELIGHTFUL. The character of the restaurant, the decor, the staff... it's just a perfect little gem. If you get a chance, try to eat on the patio. I've had Indian food through the years and always like trying new things, but I'd never had a doja or experienced this tradition of food. Of course, I had to try the paper dosa... I mean, if they're gonna name the place after the dish, hit me with your best shot! I have never seen anything like that on a plate, which immediately made me giggle when the server brought it! But, the taste was not funny. It was absolutely delicious. I'm reminded by the H. Jackson Brown quote, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do." This is one of those places you'll be disappointed to miss.”

“Absolute 10 out of 10 experience. Food was presented incredibly well, staff were incredibly courteous and professional. Coming from NY, this place felt like home. I recommend to all: steak/protein lovers, omnivore, and vegans/vegetarians as well. They went above and beyond to accommodate our veg. friend.”

“There is nothing we don’t love about this restaurant. The food is “real” New Mexican with some excellent special touches by the chef. The ambiance is wonderful, and the decor is authentic. Even the music is well selected and at a volume that enables pleasant conversation during the meal. The staff is helpful, responsive and friendly. A special shout out to Daniel, who is appropriately attentive and professional, always with a smile. Already looking forward to our next visit!”

Restaurants by Cuisine

Joseph's Culinary Pub 428 Agua Fria St, Santa Fe New American • $$$

“This is a mixed review. Jospeh is a formidable chef, but the restaurant itself is run down, chairs uncomfortable, noise level excessive and service sketchy. Some of our food (Duck confit pad thai and mixed mushrooms) was excellent, but the watermelon gazpacho was way too heavy on the garlic, and my husband couldn't eat it. Tuna tartare was mediocre and overpriced. Waitress couldn't stop asking how things were "TASTING", but didn't wait for an answer! Building should probably be condemned and the decor is falling apart.”

“I’m not a big fan of pasta but my husband is, we found this place while walking around downtown and exploring a bit, and we decided to tried. OMG this blow up my mind, mac&cheese here is DELICIOUS, if I wanna eat pasta I’m definitely coming back here, I don’t mind driving 4-5 hrs. Me and my husband ordered a size medium container of mac&cheese and it was super cheap and they give you A LOT. We were super full. Congrats to the owner.”

Tres Colores 101 W Marcy St, Santa Fe Mexican • $

“If you are in Santa Fe you absolutely have to visit Tres Colores! We were up there with family and friends for my dad's internment in the national cemetery. There were 13 of us that showed up for lunch without calling ahead. The space is small but they didn't even bat an eye. They quickly slid tables and chairs together and seated us. Service was excellent and the food was some of the best I've ever had. The presentation was beautiful and flavor was phenomenal. I don't think I will ever be satisfied with nachos from anywhere else. It was so well balanced. I am grateful for the hospitality they provided and will always remember this experience.”

Tucked in the well lit corner we got comfortable in the booth and we were immediately greeted by Angel, who made sure our water glasses never went dry, and was attentive to plate delivery and removal all night. A.J. shared with us his specialty drink, which was delicious, but I don’t remember the name and Emilio was our server that saw to our every dining need. “Make the climb! San Francisco Street Restaurant awaits. A nice mixture of artisanal sandwiches, salmon and steak entre's, New Mexican food and good Margaritas! I like the open kitchen concept, those cooks work hard and servers try to keep up!
My steak was a little tough, it came with dry mashed potatoes and a roasted palano pepper on top with an onion ring on top of that! I wish the pablano was a green chile, yum!
The Margarita was sufficiently strong, which is a big plus in most restaurants, but it was a silver coin special!
My wife's chicken sandwich was fantastic, surrounded by more fries than we could eat.
Prices were great, considering the location. They don't take reservations unless you have a party of 6 or more. We arrived at 6:15 and we're ushered quickly to a table, but as we ate open tables became scarce, plan accordingly!”

“I have been going to restaurants in Santa Fe for many years and I have to say this week had one of the best meals ever at Terra Cotta. The food was outstanding. We had the octopus as an appetizer and it was THE best I have ever had-octopus with humus and sausage - amazing flavors. For entrees I had the scallops which were served with a lobster tail and were absolutely amazing. My wife had the tuna which was cooked to perfection. We finished with a wonderful tiramisu dessert. The service was great and we had a great Italian wine that was reasonably priced. It has a cozy atmosphere where you can actually carry on a conversation with your guests.

“There has been a change to the breakfast menu, and it's so much better for that. My favorite change is to the Green Hummus Toast. It was a delight when it was made as an avocado based toast, but now is available with a delicious hummus spread. Featuring local sourdough bread that's lightly toasted topped with organic eggs that can be ordered in any style, (how they make the scrambled version so light and fluffy is beyond me) along with fresh red onion that is a complement and never intrusive. The feta cheese sprinkled on top just adds the finishing touch. My other suggestion? While this is a breakfast specialty, you might want a savory element, adding a side order of sautéed mushrooms. Yikes, that's really good!”

“Actually enjoy going to Boxcar now that it has private party dining room, large dining area that's not ovee crowded, patio area, and an entertainment room. All are welcome and like that they are not woke as to leave out Conservative or make us feel awkward to "new society ". Actually enjoy karaoke now there that negitive people who don't want to be "so called bothered by us having fun and singing" are in another area completely. Everyone even if just watching some really good singers like Bricey, gets into it mood with dancing, singing along, cheering for the brave singers. Shanny Soul gives a great vibe Wednesday nights always being fair in rotation allowing those who haven't sang get a chance to plus only sings when its a small crowd, did overhear 2 ladies if that's what you call them complaining about not having a second tern in over an hour but there were just so many singers to have first turn and were being rude to KJ, staff and other patrons. Dorian cool but you can tell when he's drinking or drunk. He shouldn't bump people down list when there name is already showing in next 2. He tends to put people for second before others who haven't gotten chance. He also sings too much when long list. Crash is great but does do as Dorian with rotation and singing but is super friendly and does not drink. There's also a lady singer who seem to work with them or goes KJ for Shanny breaks. Seen her Sunday too, is super helpful with App and supper friendly adding to welcoming us environment. Food more expensive no but still great and expected for downtown. Rio Chama Prime Steakhouse 414 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe Steak House • $$$

“We recently had our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Rio Chama. My husband and I live on the Easy Coast and had never stepped into the restaurant before our rehearsal dinner (the fun of planning a destination wedding) so we were trusting other online reviews and hoping for the best. BUT LET ME TELL YOU. The moment we stepped into Rio Chama, the vibe was amazing and everything we wanted in a dinner/welcome party venue. I cannot say enough about the the staff, the food, the drinks, and the organization of the entire evening. It was beautiful, clean, and such a nice Santa Fe aesthetic. April, their events manager, went above and beyond as our main point-of-contact. From our initial conversation, she was so helpful and prompt with responses to any questions that we had. At the very last minute, we had about 10 more guests coming to our dinner and she handled it with absolute ease (our rehearsal dinner was 70 people and welcome party with drinks was around 100). She is an absolute gem and our night would not have been the same without her. She even texted me the next day and wished us a beautiful wedding day. I highly recommend Rio Chama if you're looking for anything from a delicious Santa Fe date night, to a large gathering like a wedding rehearsal dinner. We're now forever fans of the food, drinks, and people <3”

SANTA FE BEES RESTAURANT 235 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe Fast Food • $

“The food was good. The menu however didn’t have a complete description of everything that came in each item, so the burrito I got had something I didn’t like that I wasn’t expecting because it didn’t say that on the menu but my kids ate it so it didn’t go to waste. The kids items didn’t come with a side, only the main entree and a drink. Other than those 2 things I was happy 😁”

“Although I usually avoid sushi unless it's within 50 miles or so of the coast I gave Joy's a shot since everyone gave it high marks. This was my first time there but I'll definitely return. It was mid-afternoon so I had the quiet dining room to myself. The yellowtail was fresh, tasty, and generously portioned, especially for $7. That and a bowl of miso soup filled me up nicely. I had to take my other roll home, along with another spicy yellowtail roll for the road.”

Piazza Caffè 2574 Camino Entrada, Santa Fe Italian • $$

“We had never been there before and I made a reservation for Valentines Day. I was disappointed they sat us in the bar at a table that was definitely not big enough for the food we ordered. I would have much preferred the dining room. We dressed nice, and it was disappointing everyone else was in flannel shirts, sweatshirts, ball caps, etc. The restaurant is nice. It would be great if people could up their game just a little. We got calamari which we always get. We didn't particularly care for it. We got focaccia and that was good. I got the Tuscan pasta which was very good, and my husband got the pork chop. I think he liked it but wanted a side of pasta with it but could only get potatoes. Overall we liked the food and the restaurant is nice.”
