“Everything is made from scratch. Excellent broths. Nice selection of meats, dumplings & veggies. Vegan option too.”
“I went because I was traveling with a cousin that loves wine; very glad I did. Tony was an amazing host and we spent over two hours enjoying the tasting and hospitality. Don’t expect a big tour (but they will show you a round). You can buy art off the walls, enjoy sourdough bread with cheese, homemade garlic butter or tomato and cheese and they will ship wines.”
“Fresh seafood prepared how you like it! Delicious and a must if you are in Maui. I had the Ono in white wine, garlic and butter. Served over Cajun rice. The portions are very generous.”
“Went to the new location in Kaneohe and the brisket and pulled pork was anazing! I'm giving them four stars because the wait was an hour long wait and my elderly parents were tired and famished by the time food was ready.”
“A fantastic place to eat something delicious on Oahu. On our way back from the west coast to Honolulu, we stopped at Enchanted Lake Kim Chee Restaurant. A beautiful aquarium at the entrance, American interior design; I would have preferred a Korean atmosphere... but we came for the food. The staff was incredibly friendly, answered all our questions about the menu, and helped us choose dishes for a hearty dinner. The food was delicious. We were humming with delight until the chef came out from behind the kitchen counter to watch us, and we watched him. Masterpiece! We'll definitely be sending everyone here.”

“An authentic Moroccan Experience in Hawaii....
What more could you ask for?
AND you can hire a belly dancer entertainer for your special occasions!”
“The Gnocchi, Caprese, and the Tiramisu!!! Great wine selection too!”
“The better half of the world food tour duo trekked over to Kailua and met me at Gaslamp, on Ho'olai St. The parking lot was full so we both found parking on the street. Hah, when I got back to my car, I found another car illegally parked behind me. So, parking appears to be an issue in this area.
There is no signage outside that tells you it’s Gaslamp, the signage says Kailua Town Pub and Grill. You have to go past the left side of the bar to a door, give a wait staff the secret passcode (which I failed to remember) and be taken through a door behind you, up a steep staircase to a small space overlooking the bar downstairs. There are about six tables and it’s a very dark space.
Natalie was our server and we started with a Botanist gin & tonic ($18) and a glass of J Lassalle Champagne ($25). I didn’t have any details about the wine, but it was not complex and was lacking bubbles.
We ordered the Kagoshima Wagyu Carpaccio($32) and the Escargot Bone Marrow ($42) to start. The carpaccio was a visual treat with capers, thin slices of radish, dill, pecorino and caviar. It tasted as good as it looked. The bone marrow was even better … two large bones topped with garlic buttered escargot, decorated with blistered tomatoes, and an arugula salad with two pieces of grilled sourdough. So unctuous, so decadent, so divine!
We split two entrees … The Wagyu Sampler (market price, it was $179), and the Black Truffle Risotto ($54). We added extra truffle ($12) and a side of Miso Brussels Sprouts ($16). The sampler came with two pieces of A5 “Snow Beef”, a piece of American “Wagyu” Filet Mignon, and pieces of ribeye an NY striploin, 12oz in all, and two sauces. The risotto contained sea asparagus, mascarpone and mozzarella cheeses, Hamakua mushrooms, and tomatoes. I consider the extra black truffle mandatory … It’s not special without it.
We ended our meal by sharing a Tiramisu ($12) and I had an espresso ($5). The tiramisu was very good, made in the classic style with pieces of fruit on top.
There was live music … a saxophonist played soft jazz starting at 6:30pm. It was our kind of music. Service was fine … we asked Natalie to slow down the delivery of food, and she ensured it was so. The food was great and we enjoyed our first visit to Gaslamp. One note: they apply a service charge if you use a credit card … It seems to be the new norm. Highly recommended (4.5), even if you must search for parking.”

“So good! Driving up to the North Shore from the airport we wanted something local. Family owned. No frills just awesome chicken. So juicy. We all had sandwiches and the pulled chicken is more like chunks with some pulled. Not overly shredded. And not doused with sauce. Just a nice enhancement. We had the melts and they were delicious. The bread is crusty but soft inside. An easy bite. And my son loved his Cajun fries. Off street parking in the rear.”
“Fantastic hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant in the heart of Kailua town. This café style location has seating for smaller parties and offers crepe-like dosas. Served with a side of lentil soup, there is a selection of different dosas.
Food pictured is in a to-go container.”
“The Food Company is amazing in that it offers an expansive menu, PLUS the best service and kindness in working with special current food restrictions. The food for our recent party with guests from our islands, plus mainland cities and Australia, called for varied tastes. The Food Company offered perfect selections, getting raves!! Everything was delicious. Fair prices and excellent value!!”

“So stoked to find somewhere that does gluten free ramen noodles, and the whole dish was delicious too!! We had the house Charsiu pork each, mine with a shoyu base and his with curry. Both were so tasty, and plenty condiments provided to spice, salt, soy the broth as you please. There were many other broth options that might suit celiac better but mine is intolerance and sauces don’t usually cause bad flare-ups so this was a perfect indulgence. Would definitely come back!”

“First time in Hawaii but Buzzes is a great restaurant that has great food and drinks. The staff is outstanding the are really nice and caring for there customers. I will definitely come back to buzzes. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that comes and visits that ms never been to Hawaii.”
“Romantic , food was ok ! Butterfish was amazing but the garlic shrimp was only three pieces of shrimp on doughy cheese balls I expected more shrimp or veggies ! Noise in the afternoon not bad ! Presentation good Would have to try more of the menu but will never order the shrimp again”
“New Mui Kwai Chop Suey, tucked away at 132 Oneawa Street in Kailua, is a beloved local gem that's been dishing out classic Hawaiian-style Chinese comfort food for decades. This family-owned spot has that no-frills, welcoming neighborhood -- perfect for group meals, friendly service, and generous portions that keep locals coming back year after year.
The menu is massive, packed with everything from chop suey and egg foo young to sizzling platters and noodle dishes, but two standout options always steal the show for me: the Chinese Chicken Salad and the Cake Noodle dishes.
The Chinese Chicken Salad is a refreshing, crowd-pleasing special that's light yet satisfying—crisp greens topped with tender chicken, crunchy noodles, and a tangy dressing that hits all the right notes. It's one of those dishes that feels like a perfect island lunch or side, and diners consistently rave about how fresh and flavorful it is. Great value too, and it's easy to see why it's been a longtime favorite.
Then there's the Cake Noodle (also known as crispy pan-fried noodles), which is pure indulgence. The base is a golden, crunchy nest of noodles that softens just enough when topped with savory sauce and your choice of protein or veggies. Whether it's oyster sauce chicken, beef broccoli, or minute chicken over cake noodles, the contrast of crispy and saucy is addictive. Locals often highlight these as must-tries, and for good reason—they're hearty, flavorful, and perfect for sharing (or not!).
Overall, New Mui Kwai delivers that authentic, satisfying Chinese food experience with fresh ingredients and that unmistakable local touch. It's not fancy, but it's reliably delicious—ideal for takeout, family dinners, or a casual meal after a beach day in Kailua. If you're in the area craving real-deal Hawaiian-Chinese eats, this spot won't disappoint. Highly recommend starting with those two amazing options! 🌺🍜”
“The garlic chicken here is so good! We ordered a regular plate to share and it was more than enough! The staff were nice and service was fast. The shop inside is small so you just order your food and there's seating outside. This place is Perfect for picking up food before you go to the beach! They have a lot of options on the menu.”
“Wonderful experience, Korean Steak entree was amazing and Fresh Fish entree with macadamia nut pesto was delicious. Excellent service and vibe. Highly recommend.”

“Leilani & Will of Leilani’s Island Tacos catered my daughter’s wedding last evening. Our guests raved about the food and excellent service! We are from out of town and Leilani was so great to work with, arranging everything by phone & email. I highly recommend them! Mahalo Leilani & Will!!”

“Love this place! Staff are friendly the place is neat and clean and the Acai bowls and smoothies are delicious! The prices are very reasonable, too! A negative is not just having to pay for parking, but actually finding a spot in that area.....it is def worth the time and money!!! My new favorite place in Kailua.”
“This is a solid takeout spot with good poke. There are spots to sit and eat outside. Make sure you ask about their ingredients. I discovered peanuts in their Thai basil poke after I started eating it and sharing with my son who has a peanut allergy. We had to rush to get some allergy meds afterwards so be careful.”
“Sunrise Shack Cafe is one of the best spots to grab a healthy and delicious meal in Oahu. Their açaí bowls are incredibly fresh, and it’s great that they have multiple locations across the island, making it convenient to stop by. The Monkey Bowl is perfect for peanut butter lovers — rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The Veggie Vibes sandwich is a standout, with crisp veggies and a unique papaya seed dressing that adds an interesting and tasty twist. The cafe has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and the quality of the ingredients really shines through. A must-visit for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and wholesome food on the island.”
“It might just be a fast food spot, but the workers made it feel so well put together. Everything was organized and clean, and the staff were very respectful, well mannered and super nice. The food came out hot and fresh with good portions. The combination of great staff and tasty food made this an easy five star visit.”

“Whole Foods Happy Hour Foods were excellent and delicious. We had the chicken wings, cauliflower bites, and Caesar salad. Seriously, better than the other brewery close by. I also had the Honolulu beer with the interesting name. We returned several times for other great foods in the restaurant. Highly recommend sitting in the outside patio.”
“This bar is a good street side location, and has an excellent happy hour special each day of the week. You can’t beat the happy hour special prices, $12 for a draft beer and burger/tacos/pulled pork etc. depending on the day, the pulled pork is my favorite. Excellent draft selection of local beers. Dog friendly lanai. Staff are also very friendly. Our favorite place for happy hour in Kailua.”

“This is such a hidden gym. We found most of the viral spots on the island to honestly be overrated, but this was so good. We got the short ribs and garlic shrimp and honestly the shrimp here tasted so much better than the popular food trucks. The shrimp was peeled, perfectly cooked (juicy, plump and tender) and so flavorful without so much butter dripping out. Definitely come here”
“We were two and took a salad, tempura, sashimi, a mixed sushi , everything really good, they have exllent wine list too. Place amazing outdoor where we were but saw indoor very nice too. I recommend it!”
“Good food. Fast service. Short staffed, no one came to check on us but we were ok. Cold inside restaurant, need to turn AC down!”

“Enjoyed the pastries we bought. My wife loved the spinach bread. I love supporting locals and will continue to come here when I'm in Kailua. I just wished they didn't sell out so early.I had the chocolate donut which had the perfect chewy consistency and the chocolate was nice and rich. I'd definitely eat a few of those the next time.Support local and swing by this small bakery that's been around since the 90s.”
“I went to Lilikoi Kitchen with a dear friend for brunch over the weekend and was very pleasantly surprised! We were immediately greeted by Laura who told us about the history of the restaurant and the chef’s dream of owning a cafe, and then introduced us to all of the staff there at the time. She listened to my dietary restrictions and helped me select something that I could eat and would love. Everything we ate and drank (PSL was so good, much better than Starbucks) was exceptional. If they started offering mimosas they would be the perfect ladies brunch locale! We will definitely be back.”
“Ordered Teh C...and Kopi and Kaya toast. the teh c taste like some regulat tea bag with just some.hot water poured into it. does not even taste like any teh from the singapore kopitiam. the kopi too.. the girl with the nose ring also forgot about out Kaya toast until I went to ask about it after 15 mins later. One of the girls did gave us a free croissant for that. I don't know why the girl keep saying teh Tarik when I ordered Teh C, had to confirm again and again.kaya toast tasted correct though.”
“I met the family that ran this business in a festival and I absolutely love their food and what they’re striving. They use organic ingredients and are striving health conscious choices. We’ve had their cinnamon rolls, brownies and cookies and they all were delicious. I can’t recommend them enough.”
“The food is delicious and comes out very quickly. The staff are very timely and you will likely take some to go too. Great spot if you want a quick bite and be out the door in 20.”
“been eating here for over 20 years and they are friendly and consistent with everything. best pad thai n cashew nut chicken ever!!!”
“Wonderful! I placed the order online, and it was to my hotel door in like 20 minutes. And it is delicious! Unlike other locations, they baked my pizza well-done without baking the cheese sticks well-done. A+
Vegetarian options: They have veggies and are very accommodating to all requests.
Parking: It's a big old parking lot shared with the main exchange and the commissary.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps, so wheelchair friendly!”
“Came here for a Business Meeting Food was great Drinks were as always delicious Music was a little too loud (we had to yell over it, but our table was close to the musicians on top of Bose speakers amplifying the sound) but the music was absolutely amazing !!!”
“OK, we are from Phoenix Arizona and we stopped at a local Golf Course Olomano to check in for Times to go play golf this week since we’re only here seven days, guy at the front desk about best place to watch the football game which was on tonight the Chick-fil-A peach bowl and and we happened on this place and it has the most amazing food and the atmosphere is ridiculously fun for a small place, super loud super fun and very good people. Service is slow but they bust their butt, be patient, you only live once!! Kiki❤️ made it fantastic, she even took a call for us!! Ask for extra pork on the Nachos, can’t miss!!”
“Awesome place for a night cap. Food is some of the best this side of Oahu. Weekends offer live music from talented artists, of different genres. You gotta check it out.”
“Amazing strong margaritas, even can get frozen. Service was a little slow. Food was alright. Quesabirria Was slightly soggy and the consume was greasy with a quarter inch of grease on top. Flavor was good tho. Overall food and service was decent but doesn’t warrant the price hence the 4/5 stars. If your going go for the drinks they are strong for the price around this area”
