“It was a beautiful spring day as I was welcomed into the bar area which is fairly large. Many people were there due to st Patrick’s day. The bartender greeted me and I was fortunate enough to meet the owner through a buddy of mine. The beer was nice and cold and the people were friendly. Found a table outside with two young ladies and my bud. We shared frozen margaritas and then they put 90s hip hop and r&b.. my favorite. The sun was setting so we had to go. Highly recommend for a chill night out, will definitely try the food next time!”

“If you've been around NYC and vegetarian, you have almost definitely heard of Dirt Candy. It's the epitome of vegetarian fine dining in NYC.I will preface my review by stating that I have not grown up in the fine dining realm; there is probably some level of "appreciation" that I lack. That being said, the food here is great. Presentation, creativity, flavor experience are all on point. However, I couldn't justify the price for the food. I think if you are very curious and want to knock it off your bucket list OR you are someone into fine dining then this is perfect. Otherwise, there are restaurants that I think you get much better bang for your buck for in NYC.”

The food is high quality and the experience is fine dining but fun/relaxed.The menu is composed of bits of familiar recipes with Korean twists and French culinary techniques. There’s galbi, squid ink fried rice, uni, and mäd toast (which sounded monstrous but I didn’t get to try it this time) plus much more. I liked that the menu is small-sized and minimalist with clearly labeled snacks, little colds, hots, mains, extras, and desserts (menu is posted outside the entrance and on website). The current menu that started in mid-March has snacks/appetizers such as spicy yellowtail tart, beef tartare, fried shiitake mushroom rice balls (I think?, it’s labeled as mushroom arancini on the menu), pork head katsu, and scallion buns with unique sauces on the side ($20 per person, either no one or everyone orders). I tried the mushroom tempura with onion dip too! Everything was elegantly and adorably plated. Our server explained what’s what and suggested how to best enjoy some dishes. They have a really extensive drinks menu (many pages), complete with your usual offerings and their own unique cocktails, rice alcohol, maekgeolli, and even alcohol free cocktails woohoo! Not sure if all of the ice cubes for the alcoholic drinks are engraved with the restaurant’s name and logo but ours were and I thought that was a really cool and personal touch.An equally important part of my dining experience was the atmosphere and service. The staff are attentive, frequently filling glasses low on water and folding napkins when you step away. They also keep the music bopping and adjust their playlists. The lighting is a little dim and the interior is ‘cool club’ vibes but for a slightly more sophisticated audience. It’s a place to come in casual or dressed up a little for fun. It’s best for smaller groups of 1-4 I think based on seating arrangements but they seem to be able to accommodate slightly larger groups at some bigger tables and in the back room. Expect to pay $50-$100 if you get one item from each category on the menu and a drink. Probably $100+ if you get more or multiple drinks. The bar area in the back is across from the kitchen, which might be cool to peek at to see some staff members curating orders.I like that it’s on a quieter block in ktown area. The price range and location filters out loud and teen crowds, so it feels like a great place for young adults and Millenials to catch up or go on a date. It’s a place to sit down and chat while you savor small bites and wait on more food to arrive, so you’ll probably need like 1.5-2 hours if you’re going for a natural relaxed pace. I also saw a family of 5 enjoying dinner together here. Lastly, this is random but the hand soap is heavenly. I can’t wait to see what other menus they craft!!Dietary restrictions: They will ask about dietary restrictions and can modify recipes. If you don’t eat certain ingredients/foods, they can omit snacks too and adjust the price for you accordingly.”

“You definitely want to make a reservation if you want to not wait to be seated. This place fills fast. We went when the weather still had a bite in the air. We opted to sit outside in the covered heated patio. Which turned out to be a great place to sit. Highly recommend this. Our waiter recommended all our foods, which change with the seasons. The appetizer of the curry cauliflower was excellent. The triple garlic pork was so good, I could’ve had another bowl. My daughter really enjoyed the fried chicken. The chicken paitan comes with a raw egg that you break the yolk into the hot broth that creates the sauce. The ramen noodles are excellent. They fresh with a nice chew to them. It was my daughter boyfriend’s birthday and they brought to the table a slice of the yuzu cheesecake which was unlike any cheesecake we’ve ever tasted. (with a candle) the overall cost for five people with a glass of wine and a bottle of beer was about $119 w/o tip. Also you scan the code on the table to get the menu. Parking is not easy. ( NYC) if you can take the train, bus or Uber.”

That being said, my friends and I spent a long weekend in East Village partying it up till 6am each night! I still can't believe we did that. But in the midst of our late night partying, we would stop to refuel by grabbing a deli sandwich at this small bodega. You walk in and there is a wall full of colorful signs describing multiple types of sandwiches you can order. All looked spectacular but on the first night I ordered "The Biden". All the ingredients spoke to me and man what a sandwich! The flavor explosion was incredible with sun dried tomatoes and avocado on a croissant. I forget what my buddies got but they were raving about them too. The next night I got a meatball sub with grilled onions and once again I was in Heaven. We all were. So please keep this small business going strong and check out their sandwiches. All across their walls they have photos with celebrities so clearly they are popular. Thank you Sunny and Annie! Your food was one of the best highlights of our trip.”

I felt the rooms were a little small though and lacked some storage space, although I appreciate that it's New York and that's kinda the style the hotel is going for. The coffee shop and the bar are great amenities to visit and make use of.The doors are really thin though and you can hear everything that's going on in the corridor. The walls aren't quite as thin but we could hear an argument that kicked off in the room next door.On balance I would recommend it since it is pretty well located.”

We decided to wait inside even though it was a tight fit. It was a little chilly outside. I think mostly, people order to pick up or have delivered. So the food was piping hot! But we didn't care, it was so good! And we had 3 different dipping sauces. The really spicy one my husband liked a lot. Two of us enjoyed the soy sauce one. My dad liked the sweet white sugar sauce. Thankfully, I came across a fellow Yelp friend's glowing review of Figo and knew this was just the place. We came on a dreary day, and there were no customers when we arrived, but honestly, I was too excited to care. The interior was cute and green and gave major spring forest vibes. I did my research so I knew exactly what I wanted. My sister, on the other hand, contemplated between pistachio and caffè and ended up going with the latter. Their prices have risen slightly. It's now $7.50 (instead of $6) for a regular cup of gelato, with up to 2 flavors. The portions are huge though, so two people can easily share a cup. * Ferrero Rocher I was dead set on ordering this flavor, and it was everything I imagined it to be. Sweet, smooth, rich, and creamy, with blended Ferrero Rocher bits. I found an almost whole Ferrero Rocher piece at the bottom of my cup and loved the added crunch. * Caffè Absolutely divine and exactly how I like my coffee. This flavor perfectly balanced the sweet and creamy elements of gelato with the rich and subtle, bitter notes of dark roast coffee. Highly recommend!”

My dad said it’s not as good as the ones actually back home, but for me it’s heartwarming enough.Beef Noodle is mellow. I don’t usually like onion but the ones in the soup actually tastes delightfully sweet. Slightly oily for me but it’s not too bad for restaurant food.The Glutinous Rice Dumplings make me feel nostalgic. A little less aromatic and balanced as the ones back home (maybe a little more soy sauce and shiitake and pork fat would help), but again, a rare find abroad where the market is filled with Cantonese meat Shiu Mai.Xiaolongbao is alright. The meat filling lacks umami, but the soup is generous/ambitious. The skin is of good thickness though can be firmer.Shrimp Dumplings are a bit fishy maybe because of the ingredients.The dough is freshly kneaded in the kitchen, which is a plus.Service is prompt and friendly. All tables are set around the teppanyaki. We get to watch other people’s show but it’s a little difficult to share food.”

We ordered the squash fritters, foie gras terrine, red shrimp, chicken liver agnolotti and rice pudding for dessert. We were also able to try the kampachi with kumquat and yuzu which was so fresh bright and delicious. The squash fritters had such a light and delicious batter and covered with pecorino. They were amazing. We loved the foie gras terrine with the most delicious sourdough bread. The red shrimp was one of my favorites. So simple and full of flavor. The agnolotti were fantastic. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and were covered in delicious smoked onion jus. The glazed carrots were so unique and delectable. The rice pudding was one of the best we've ever had. This was one of the best meals we've had in NYC. It would be hard to find anything better.”

The veggies that it came with added to the flavor perfectly. I will go back just for that. Chef Mr. Carmellini came to greet us and explained the entire menu to us, how often does that happen in such a fine dining establishment!
