“I like this place. $13.99 per pound of food. You get to choose all your toppings. I recommend going heavy on the meats and light on the carbohydrates. That’ll be the best bang for the buck. They also have frog meat if that’s your lingo. I tried their beef bone broth and I like it a lot. I’d come back again.

**UPDATE**
Just a heads up. If you can’t eat mild this place won’t be for you. They can’t alter the broth. The only option is the tomato broth which is no spicy.”

“3 of us came here for lunch today. They took over the location from Din Tai Fung. It took a few minutes before someone greeted and seated us. We ordered:
- shrimp wonton w/ house spicy sauce (best, compared to DTF and Lunasia)
- shrimp & pork dumpling w/ black truffle (Lunasia is still best)
- squid in scallop dumpling w/ XO sauce (good)
- French baked BBQ pork bun (the buns too doughy, prefer the one at Tim Ho Wan)
- eggplant stuffed w/ shrimp paste (pretty good)
- deep fried pork dumpling (meh)
- deep fried durian pastry (excellent, real durian pulp, not processed, not too sweet, a bit greasy)”

Lao Xi Noodle House 921 S Baldwin Ave Ste G-H, Arcadia Chinese • $

“I had the opportunity to visit this Michelin-starred restaurant specializing in noodles, and I must say that the experience was overall very positive.

The house specialty, the beef noodles, were truly delicious. The meat was incredibly soft and rich, making it the highlight of the meal.

However, I felt that the broth that accompanied the noodles could have had a little more flavor. Although it was clear that a lot of care had gone into its preparation, it seemed a bit neutral to me.

Overall, I give it a rating of 8/10. Although it was not a perfect experience, the quality of the meat and the presentation of the dishes were more than enough to make up for the small deficiencies. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any noodle and beef lover.”

626 Ice Cream 160 E Duarte Rd STE E, Arcadia Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt • $

“I am not sure why 626 Ice Cream has such bad reviews.

I had heard lots about this place, but due to them mostly being open on weekday nights, didn't have a chance to try them until yesterday afternoon.

I enjoyed the calming ambiance. Everything seemed randomly arranged, however it went well with the area.

The ice cream served here is very delicious and creamy, so if you like that type of style, you're better off coming here. I got the condensed milk and black sesame flavors with sprinkles, Gummy bears and mochi. Their mochi bin was nearly empty, and I discovered why when I ate my dessert. I mean, the other two toppings were also tasty and I'm glad I didn't do just mochi, but mochi had to be the best out of the three toppings I had.

Would come back if I were in the area!”

“Our first time here, we had gone here for Steady Garage's Friday Kik Bak Bike Show. I was fortunate enough to be selected to have my bike on display.
This place has a very welcoming and chill vibe. The people who worked here were super nice. I'm not much of a beer fan, but I wanted to support and see what they had to offer. They have a huge selection of beer to choose from. I was surprised they had an offering of items like sparkling raspberry lemonade, a berry awesome series, and wine. They had something for everyone. I decided to go with a jolly rancher apple that they had. It was light and not too sweet. I was debating on trying the berry one but decided to stick with this for the whole night.
I loved that they had cookies made by Sour*doe*sisters. I saw a flyer outside their window and was interested in pre ordering a sourdough loaf. You definitely must try them.
1. Pumpkin chocolate - light and pumpkiny - it tasted like a muffin top
2. Chocolate Chip - I can't go wrong with a classic.
3. Red velvet - I'm not a fan of red velvet, but I had to try, and it was light and tasty.
4. Strawberry cookies made with real strawberries - This was my favorite it was so different. I never had a strawberry cookie made with real strawberries before. It was moist and not too sweet.
The layout of this place was pretty cool and spacious. They had a private event going on when we were there as well. The taco vendor they had there was a hit.
I definitely see us coming back here soon, even if it's not for a bike event. The location was cool, and there was plenty of parking.”

“I love this little noodle shop, it's a mom and pop shop and they serve the best soups of any noodles dishes. They have pho, hu tieu, Cantonese style beef egg noodles soups, and many more. You can't go wrong with the noodles dishes here, they're all solid and so delicious.

The servings are appropriate and you can order a large for the noodles dishes. The owners are so sweet and you can tell that they put in the hard work into making your order. I would come here for lunch whenever I can but their short hours on the weekday make it hard for me to catch them. They also have rice dishes and dumplings that are also delicious. “Delicious food at a great value. Every dish was spot on and came out quickly but we were the only table seated at 9:30PM on a Thursday. Pretty small seating area with a cluttered interior but there is clearly care behind every plate. The chongqing noodles were quite spicy and numbing - my personal favorite. The crispy duck rice was very rich, and the spicy beef soup with rice noodles had a vinegar flavor that cut through but was a little lacking. Additionally the hot and sour jelly was refreshing and spicy.”

“Me and the husband went here for the first time. We chose the premium as we didn't like any of the meats or broths in the prime option. I ordered the sukiyaki broth and the native chongquin Mala. The Mala was very spicy as soon as I got it. I removed all the chilies, and it was still spicy but delicious. I started mixing both broths to balance spiciness, and it was delicious. They have a self-serve buffet with many options, and the meats are ordered at the table. My favotire was the pork belly, shrimp and the fish filet. My mouth is watering just thinking about it ?. My only request is about the way it gets served. While the disposable styrofoam plates are so convenient, it melts! It got melted by the quesadilla and the fries.

“One of the boba places I tried next to Menya Hanabi. This isn’t a place to really sit down, it is a place to get your drink and go. There are two self serve touch screens where you can place your order, and it is nice that your name will show up on the screen to let you know approximately when your drink is ready. It seems this is a franchise so there are other places that serve the same, but this was my first experience and I think it is worth a try.

I decided to give the waffle a try, my kid enjoyed it. The passion fruit drink I got was decent, but the seeds inside were quite hard.

I like how modern the place is, but it seems to be a lot more pricier than some other places that I have been to in this city. I think my bill for 5-6 drinks and a snack was about $60. I believe I could have gone to another place and max would have been $40.

Worth a try, if especially if you are eating in the plaza. Until next time”

“Pretty good experience at this Tea Shop compared to other location I went to in Rowland. They have two order yourself stations and I was able to take a look more closely this time at their selection. This is located at the front, and although there isn’t any seating, besides a bench, you could take your drink and walk inside towards the food court.

I tried and enjoyed the Sunlight Fruit Tea. Got it with less sugar and less ice.

We got our drinks really fast, it was clean, what else can you ask for at a Boba place?”

“I really love the meats offered and the soup bases that I tried (can’t remember their names now). However because the service is slow I felt the need to order everything the 2nd time I went which kinda makes things less fresh. The first time I had to wait so long for them to bring out more meat and it wasn’t even that many people in the restaurant. The food is the reason I would go back but the service could/should definitely be better. Also the 19.99 all you can eat sign is a bit misleading. “Stopped in to have some dinner and a shark theme drink tried the shark attack so cool and you even get to keep the Shark shot. Glass baked potato soup is good a little bit salty and a little too much cheese. The blue cheese dressing is delicious on the house salad And steak with like seasoning was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, our dinner was cut short due to a family emergency so we weren’t able to eat everything at the location Brea was our server and she did a really great job. She’s able to get us rung out and out of the restaurant quick and efficiently so we could get to our family emergency 10 out of 10 recommend this place is clean. The service is good. The food is delicious. Plenty of parking. The bathrooms are clean and they do have a hot fresh bread service. Thank you for the great service Maria. It’s a little pricey and portion sizes are bad average.”

Birria El Viejon 5630 Peck Rd, Arcadia Fast Food • $

“The first time I visited, after passing by for months, I decided to finally try this place. So I asked first about the Birria, as traditionally it was made with Goat meat, to which I was told, that they use beef meat. I asked them for the plate, so I could try a little bit of rice, beans, and meat. And the season was cold, so champurrado. In addition, I also ordered a side of the refried beans, as they serve both refried beans, and whole beans. I took the food home, and was surprised that everything tasted like my mom made it. So when I went back the next week, I told the guy there, exactly that. He turned around , looked at the cook , and said, that's because my mom did make it. Sure enough, his mom was there, doing the cooking , and preparations 😆
I now visit at least once a week, and those Birria Quesadillas are awesome 😋.”

“Small authentic Guilin noodle in the Arcadia square plaza food court.

I was surprised by the huge portions so definitely for money's worth.
The lady in the front was nice and explained all the dishes and gave some recommendations which I took.

Noodles are pretty good and a side note, she told me the spices were really spicy and I didn't think much of it, but putting just a little of the red 🌶️🌶️ and after mixed into the soup, I drank the soup, it caught up and landed in my throat, the spice level is really no joke. Normally I can eat habanero level spice with ease, but this is really spicy.

Would come back again.”

Mama Lu's Dumpling House 1212 S Baldwin Ave, Arcadia Shanghainese • $

“Pan Fried Bun: 👎
Not what I expected. It looks nice and crispy from its appearance, but it has a soggy, thick bun inside and meat that is kind of “dry” because all the juices have soaked into the bun.

Beef Roll: 👍
Crispy skin, tasty inside, but other stores like Noodle Street are better.

Pan Fried Noodle with Beef:
Just OK, it is overpoweringly salty from the soy sauce flavor.

Parking is kind of hard to find. Most of them belong to Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America customers only.”
