“You will never get a sub quite as lovely as these. I don’t know why they’re so good, maybe fresh bread and fresh ingredients IDK but Turkey extra chili is my fave!! Mom loves Milanesa and the fried sides are YUMM too! I learned how to make my voice heard at the old little market. The big construction men at lunch time would be shouting out their orders. I was 11 years old and had to shout my order too!! Been a patron since 1982!!”

“I went here for the first time on a Monday evening. The service was really good and on point on this day. Staff was always checking on us, always making sure our stove was clean or removing finished dishes. I got us the Deluxe meal. The spicy baby octopus was good. The gyōza dumplings and egg rolls were really good. They have sushi as well. Their menu can be accessed by QR code or you can ask for a physical menu.”

The restaurant features a delicacy that you can not find in other restaurants. You should always pair the duck with a noodle soup as the salty flavor compliments it super well.

The turkey served in a similar fashion also has great flavor which is hard to achieve considering that turkey generally is dry.

“I've been ordering food from China express for the past 2 years. I'm satisfied all the time. I usually order through uber eats since it's the only way I can get my salt n pepper shrimp lol. It's because when I go in person and ask for it, I get told they don't have that but whenever I order through uber I always get it and it's delicious. (I promise it's the correct restaurant). Either way, the chow mein is great. Fried rice is great too. Not mushy, not dry, perfectly cooked and not overly greasy. Their broccoli beef, spicy fried chicken, and omg the orange chicken. Their orange chicken has a perfect taste and I love that even though it's nicely coated with the sweet glaze, the chicken still maintains it's crunch. (I have a problem with soggy mushy orange chicken from other places). Plus, I always know, that I will always have seconds to for dinner or take for lunch the next day. Plus, it's not overly pricey.”

“Chinese BBQ has become one of our favorite types of places and this place uses a northern style where my wife is from. Her family recommended it and we loved it. Fantastic authentic flavors and just downright delicious. Don’t let the exterior fool you.

I’m honestly not sure how easy it is to order here if you don’t know mandarin. I assume they have English menus or you can use a translate app, but I just hit the easy button and let my wife order stuff.

The beef and lamb skewers are probably the easiest to deal with for Americanized diners, but they have many different and more exotic cuts to try for the adventurous. They have a raw beef skewer which is lightly marinated which is excellent. It’s usually dipped in a wasabi and vinegar sauce which you make yourself on the table (like for sushi). At least that’s the way we eat it.

There’s a selection of drinks in a cooler you can pick from and other things to try besides the skewers. Overall this is now our favorite of all the US places we’ve tried and highly recommended.”

“I work in the area, and on the days I end up staying later than planned, I like to grab something local to eat. I’ve visited this location twice now, and both times Christian has helped me. He always greets me with a warm welcome, gets my order right every single time, and the food comes out fresh, delicious, and with a generous amount of fries. “I stumbled upon this place while driving from LA to Las Vegas and searching for breakfast. We came all the way from Maryland for my birthday weekend, and this has been the best food we’ve had so far on our trip. Everything was amazing—from the coffee to the buttered bread served at the table. You can really see and taste the homemade care put into every dish.

I had the home fries, and you could tell they were hand-cut from thinly sliced potatoes. My friend ordered the veggie omelet—my God, it was so good. I had the pork chops with home fries and eggs, and wow… if only you could taste this plate. Don’t skip the homemade salsa they bring to the table—absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this place. 10s across the board.”

Overall, it’s not a spot I’d go out of my way for, but if you’re in El Monte and really craving boba, it does the job.”

I think South El Monte has a thriving community of Asian and boba drink lovers. Hello Boba adds another great addition to that one. “Love the pizza. I wish they would expand their toppings. The one complaint is their online ordering form by Tabit.us is terrible to use. The fields for data entry are too small, and you can’t see if you’ve made an entry error. For example when entering my phone number I accidentally hit one wrong number, and didn’t see it until it went to send the confirmation code to the wrong number. I used the back arrow, and was not able to enter a new phone number. I deleted the whole order, reordered, and it pulled up the wrong phone number again. The only way I was able to place an order was to delete the order AGAIN, log out of the website, log back in, and select NO to Use location? Terrible ordering experience that could easily be fixed with a better form design. It’s not rocket science.”

“Saw that they were running a promotion for 4 regular sized drinks for $16.50, so I stopped by since I haven't gotten 7 leaves in a long time. This location has a drive through and a dine-in, but the dine-in area looks small.

We didn't want to park so we ordered through the drive through. We got the Mungbean Milk Tea, Sea Salt Jasmine Tea, and the House Coffee. The drinks didn't take long to be ready and the entire drive through process went smoothly. The employees were also friendly and provided good service.

The mung bean milk tea was a bit too sweet for my taste even though I already asked for easy sweet. It still tasted sweet after the ice melted. I don't think I like this drink much anymore. For the sea salt jasmine tea, that was good since the sea salt foam goes well with the tea. The house coffee was just okay since my sister who ordered it isn't a super big fan of coffee.

I think this is a decent drink spot but their menu is a bit limited with not many options. I would rather visit a boba shop that is closer since I'm not really into the drinks here.”

We moved to the SGV 13 years ago. This was one of the very first restaurants we tried out (other good ones: El super burrito Jr. and Golden Deli). We've dined in on Thai Exellente food ever since, and it is our go-to Thai eatery. The place seems to be run by about 3 women (of whom one, the cook, is seen only from behind, working the stove top), and the service over that decade-plus had been uniformly courteous, friendly and excellent (5/5, 10/10, pick your scale)!

Nov. 10: different recipes today and a newer look inside: has this place changed owners? Say it isn't so! O.o

Never had my order be incorrect and numerous ladies who serve service are quiet with good service. The area is okay, parking is small. The only thing I wished this place do differently is not package the Tacos in Aluminum foil instead paper plates or plastic wrap for personal health reasons, but it's a minor health personal thing-most people don't pay attention to. Other than that I recommend this place. Have 2 days of week lower their tacos prices for more traffic in and I'll try Breakfast dishes one these days. Asada Nachos looks bomb too!”
