“I was craving for lomo saltado, and was searching for a place in the area. I found this place with great reviews, decided to come by. It is located on Garvey Ave in the same plaza of a grocery store. Parking was easy.
The decoration gave me a little Asian vibes to it. The owner is a very kind man. He is very friendly and welcoming. He offered all the customers with free drinks or soda. He speaks English, Spanish, Cantonese, and mandarin. I am amazed by that. Salute.
We ordered 2 lomo saltado, and it is the best lomo saltado I have had so far. He uses beef slices instead of steak chunk. However, no where I have been can beat the taste of it. The beef was tender and juice, and the fries were crispy!
I will come back to support small business again!”

BUT if you're looking for some delicious mouth watering dumplings cooked in various forms then you're at the CORRECT place. I brought my mom here and we tried the pork chive regular dumplings, the pan fried beef and cumin dumplings and the regular fried rice. All of it was delicious. Also they give you a complimentary bowl of egg drop corn soup. NOT a small bowl but a good size portion, it was GOOOOOD. I will definitely be back with the rest of the family and I want to try the beef noodle soup. DON'T fall asleep on the fried rice.”

“I stumbled upon this place while driving from LA to Las Vegas and searching for breakfast. We came all the way from Maryland for my birthday weekend, and this has been the best food we’ve had so far on our trip. Everything was amazing—from the coffee to the buttered bread served at the table. You can really see and taste the homemade care put into every dish.
I had the home fries, and you could tell they were hand-cut from thinly sliced potatoes. My friend ordered the veggie omelet—my God, it was so good. I had the pork chops with home fries and eggs, and wow… if only you could taste this plate. Don’t skip the homemade salsa they bring to the table—absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this place. 10s across the board.”

“Absolutely delicious! I decided to try this place today and I'm immediately reviewing to get people to support this local gem. I had the tofu vegetable combo plate and it was tasty as hell. The tofu was soft, the veggies had the perfect bite, and the brown sauce was well seasoned. The entire dish was warm and light enough that I almost cleaned my plate despite it being so satisfying. I'm happy I was able to bring some home for later and will be going back regularly now!”

I used the back arrow, and was not able to enter a new phone number. I deleted the whole order, reordered, and it pulled up the wrong phone number again. The only way I was able to place an order was to delete the order AGAIN, log out of the website, log back in, and select NO to Use location? Terrible ordering experience that could easily be fixed with a better form design. It’s not rocket science.”

Either way, the chow mein is great. Fried rice is great too. Not mushy, not dry, perfectly cooked and not overly greasy. Their broccoli beef, spicy fried chicken, and omg the orange chicken. Their orange chicken has a perfect taste and I love that even though it's nicely coated with the sweet glaze, the chicken still maintains it's crunch. (I have a problem with soggy mushy orange chicken from other places). Plus, I always know, that I will always have seconds to for dinner or take for lunch the next day. Plus, it's not overly pricey.”

This Jack in the Box in South El Monte is a great spot, especially with the updates they’re making! The location is currently under construction, so just keep that in mind — but the remodel is looking really nice and worth it. The inside decor has a modern feel with touches of art that make it stand out.
I also loved seeing that they’ve been established since 1988 — it shows their history in the community and adds a nice, local touch.
The staff here are very friendly, respectful, and welcoming. They provide great service and make the experience smooth from start to finish. Another big plus is that this location accepts EBT, which is really helpful.
The food was fresh, the service was quick, and they even play good music while you dine in, which adds to the overall vibe.

Overall, it’s not a spot I’d go out of my way for, but if you’re in El Monte and really craving boba, it does the job.”

We ordered the torta de asada, taco superior de buche, asada nachos and an esquite.
Every single bite was a wonderful experience.
I added the mango habanero sauce to my torta and it paired so well, it added that sweetness to the torta that elevated the food. The taco was also absolutely amazing.
None of the food was dry or bland, the tortilla was even delicious on its own. I would highly highly recommend stopping by for a quick bite and try the Aguas Fresca too!

I think South El Monte has a thriving community of Asian and boba drink lovers. Hello Boba adds another great addition to that one. Another great option is Boba Time which is also right down the same street. I love to get boba and then head to the King Taco place and drink boba with my taco.”

“Chinese BBQ has become one of our favorite types of places and this place uses a northern style where my wife is from. Her family recommended it and we loved it. Fantastic authentic flavors and just downright delicious. Don’t let the exterior fool you.
I’m honestly not sure how easy it is to order here if you don’t know mandarin. I assume they have English menus or you can use a translate app, but I just hit the easy button and let my wife order stuff.
The beef and lamb skewers are probably the easiest to deal with for Americanized diners, but they have many different and more exotic cuts to try for the adventurous. They have a raw beef skewer which is lightly marinated which is excellent. It’s usually dipped in a wasabi and vinegar sauce which you make yourself on the table (like for sushi). At least that’s the way we eat it.
There’s a selection of drinks in a cooler you can pick from and other things to try besides the skewers. Overall this is now our favorite of all the US places we’ve tried and highly recommended.”

This McDonald’s in El Monte is a really solid and reliable location, especially when you need something quick while you’re out handling your day. Being right next to Sam’s Club makes it super convenient.
The staff here are very friendly and professional — they truly made the experience pleasant and welcoming.
One thing to know is that this location does not accept EBT. If you’re using the kiosks, they’ll automatically prompt you to pay, which can be a little confusing if you’re planning to use cash. The way around it is to let the payment screen time out, and then it will give you the option to pay at the counter. Once you know that, it’s easy to navigate.
I also noticed that the deals in the app were a bit different at this location. For example, instead of the usual Filet-O-Fish deal, they had a Big Mac meal for around $8, which is a great value considering the sandwich alone is usually that price. Definitely check your app for current deals when you visit.
Overall, this location came through exactly when I needed it. Great service, convenient location, and a positive experience all around. It really feels like a helpful staple in the community. Highly recommend! 🍔✨”

“I was craving for lomo saltado, and was searching for a place in the area. I found this place with great reviews, decided to come by. It is located on Garvey Ave in the same plaza of a grocery store. Parking was easy.
The decoration gave me a little Asian vibes to it. The owner is a very kind man. He is very friendly and welcoming. He offered all the customers with free drinks or soda. He speaks English, Spanish, Cantonese, and mandarin. I am amazed by that. Salute.
We ordered 2 lomo saltado, and it is the best lomo saltado I have had so far. He uses beef slices instead of steak chunk. However, no where I have been can beat the taste of it. The beef was tender and juice, and the fries were crispy!
