“Best roast duck!!! I always thought Sam Woo was the best , but their duck is delicious. Everything was freshly made!!”

“Came here pretty much when they opened for the day, there was already some people inside for a Saturday. When we finished eating, the restaurant was barely half full?

Food wise, the bbq meats are pretty decent cuts for what you pay for and the big shrimp we ordered is actually pretty good. They didn't have a real fishy smell, which is a plus, knowing some places just serve what they have sitting out.

There is a sauce bar with appetizers near the front of the restaurant, the bar itself is already baked into the price, there isn't any extra fee. There is also a self serve sherbet freezer with three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and rainbow, as of writing this.

For the non grill foods, the soup and cold noodles are decently portion, definitely should split it up with others so you don't overfill. The popcorn chicken can be ordered as a half order, and to my surprise, it actually is pretty decent in terms of texture and juiciness, only downside is I wish they used some spice in the coating to give it a bit more oomph.

Overall, if I am ever in the area here, I might consider coming back when I'm looking for AYCE.”

“This place is more of a drinking bar. I tried this place out 2× and food was nasty so I never went back again until recently my friends wanted to go there to drink so I tried it the 3rd time. The saying goes 3rd time the charm and yes the food was actually good this time, I enjoyed every dishes that was ordered.”

“The most authentic Nanjing Salty Duck, I have bought from this restaurant for years! The old owner was from Nanjing and the recipe was from the most famous duck restaurant in that region, but sadly after Covid they only provided take out service, it still the same quality even after the new owner took over the store!
Their duck were purchased from different state, less fat and more tender meet, and the cutting skill kept the way it should be, each piece is thinner and neat!

“I've been ordering food from China express for the past 2 years. I'm satisfied all the time. I usually order through uber eats since it's the only way I can get my salt n pepper shrimp lol. It's because when I go in person and ask for it, I get told they don't have that but whenever I order through uber I always get it and it's delicious. (I promise it's the correct restaurant). Either way, the chow mein is great. Fried rice is great too. Not mushy, not dry, perfectly cooked and not overly greasy. Their broccoli beef, spicy fried chicken, and omg the orange chicken. Their orange chicken has a perfect taste and I love that even though it's nicely coated with the sweet glaze, the chicken still maintains it's crunch. (I have a problem with soggy mushy orange chicken from other places). Plus, I always know, that I will always have seconds to for dinner or take for lunch the next day. Plus, it's not overly pricey.”

“Best Northeastern style BBQ place (possible in the whole North American) for me. Food was very authentic, even the whole in a wall questionable environment is authentic lol. Unless quite some bbq place we have been to, all the bbq items were perfectly charcoal grill instead of fried. And the flavoring is tailored to each ingredient. Will definitely come back next time we are in LA area.”

“Not sure why I haven't left a review for this spot yet l've been here a bunch of times already. They open pretty early, so it's a solid place to grab pho or other Vietnamese eats in the morning.
I usually go for the pho dac biet, but l've also tried the hu tieu and the banh mi xiu mai, which were both pretty decent. Lately, l've been especially into their pho the broth tastes lighter and cleaner (less oily), which I really like.
They also do a great job with their takeout game everything is packed well. Prices are reasonable too, which is probably why I keep coming back. Whenever I'm around El Monte these days, this is my go-to lunch spot.”

I had the French Toast Combo with a large orange juice came out to $22.20. With a $7.80 tip came to $30 flat. Food was fine/delicious, place seemed clean. Lot of help in the kitchen, pretty fast service, no complaints. The atmosphere gives like veterans POW/Elk Lodge/small town/diner vibes, a handful of older(40/50+) dudes, a young teen couple and a family with toddler was here when I sat in at 10am on Wednesday morning. Parking: I was able to find a spot,but it is limited-if busy.”

“I have made boba stops every day this week while I’ve been in LA. I had the strawberry matcha drink. It was decent for what it is but the strawberry that is used seems to be a syrup base which wasn’t my personal preference. Reminded me of what gets used in a McDonalds strawberry sundae.

Again drink was not bad, just wasn’t my personal preference from other strawberry matches he had.

“They used to be New Wok on Peck Rd next to the dealership in the shopping center! They are the best Wok in El Monte! I almost cried after eating their food. We tried other Woks from 5 different cities, NONE of them compare! Have been a customer since I was a kid! So happy they are reopen! It’s our first visit to their new location.

Their rice in this visit was a bit too salty and taste slightly different too. But, their signature chow mein is SO good! No other place compares! Their egg roles are also delicious too! Their food quantity is just as big too! You really get your bang for your buck:

2 combo is like $10-$11 and the 3 combo is $12.49ish.

They used to have vegetarian/pescatarian options, but not anymore. I hope they have more veggie and seafood options!”

They actually have flavor and taste like they’ve been cooked with brown sugar, not bland at all. Ono Tea House is my favorite!! :^DI’ve been getting boba here about once a month for about a year now.I’ve had their thai milk tea, house milk tea, honeydew green milk tea, guava yogurt, lychee yogurt, strawberry yogurt, and peach yogurt. Wheelchair accessibility: They have handicap spots closer to the building and space for wheelchairs to get to the front.”

“Love the pizza. I wish they would expand their toppings. The one complaint is their online ordering form by Tabit.us is terrible to use. The fields for data entry are too small, and you can’t see if you’ve made an entry error. For example when entering my phone number I accidentally hit one wrong number, and didn’t see it until it went to send the confirmation code to the wrong number. I used the back arrow, and was not able to enter a new phone number. I deleted the whole order, reordered, and it pulled up the wrong phone number again. The only way I was able to place an order was to delete the order AGAIN, log out of the website, log back in, and select NO to Use location? Terrible ordering experience that could easily be fixed with a better form design. It’s not rocket science.”

Just a dream place for anyone planning an ice cream party -- they mostly sell ice cream in bulk but also offer select individual ice creams that you normally would buy from ice cream trucks. It's not really a place you want to bring your kids just because parking is limited and there's traffic as ice cream trucks are constantly moving around to load up with goodies -- so be very careful if you decide to bring a kiddo. This had some great reviews and the pictures looked good.I ordered the mayonnaise shrimp, bbq pork noodle soup, wonton soup and others. The mayo shrimp was excellent and reminds me of walnut shrimp at other locations. The bbq pork of the noodle soup was delicious and the broth was on point.I would definitely come back and try their other menu items. Parking was descent and a great spot to get some noodle soup.”

It is affordable and give good deals, better than boba stores in cities like Monterey Park and Arcadia so people always come by and shop here.”

“It was excellent. I ordered Pork Pad See Ew. The noodles were greasy and delicious just as I hoped. The broccoli was cooked just right with a good bit of crisp, not overly cooked and mushy. At first I thought maybe they forgot the pork, but it's in there, it's just camouflaged by the noodles which are the same color. I planned on eating a bit of this in my car and then heading home but it didn't last 5 minutes once I started eating.”
