And let me talk about the potato salad because somebody momma PUT. HER. FOOT. IN. IT. 😂👏🏾 It tasted like my mom made it daily…CHEF’S KISS. The pasta salad is good too! Actually, ask them how they would eat everything. Trust me…they will not lead you astray.

I brought my dad with me and we got our food to go. Baby…that food did not make it past the parking lot. 😂😂 We were supposed to take it home. Supposed to. The plan changed somewhere between the front door and the car.

The shop is small, but somehow you don’t want to leave. And the people working there? Some of the friendliest, funniest people. You can genuinely tell they enjoy working there and actually enjoy meeting and talking with their customers. That kind of energy is rare.

I was literally trying to poach them to come open a spot where I work…THAT is how good they are. 😂 If I’m trying to recruit your entire operation, you know the food is doing what it needs to do.

Gen Z would probably say the place has AURA. My millennial colleagues would say this place is BUSSIN. Either way…The Garden Deli is THAT GIRL. 😂🔥

Catch them now while you still can because I have ZERO doubt they’re going to blow up. Get your sandwich, get the potato salad, get the pasta salad, ask them what they recommend and trust the process.

I was 11 years old and had to shout my order too!! Been a patron since 1982!!”

“the restaurant is super clean. If you show up thinking you're going to order Orange chicken, Broccoli beef, kung pao chicken or any of that chinese fast food then this is not the place for you. BUT if you're looking for some delicious mouth watering dumplings cooked in various forms then you're at the CORRECT place. I brought my mom here and we tried the pork chive regular dumplings, the pan fried beef and cumin dumplings and the regular fried rice. All of it was delicious. Also they give you a complimentary bowl of egg drop corn soup. NOT a small bowl but a good size portion, it was GOOOOOD. I will definitely be back with the rest of the family and I want to try the beef noodle soup. DON'T fall asleep on the fried rice.”

“This is a delicious Chinese restaurant! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Parking is very limited because it is on a tiny lot but I came early so parking wasn't an issue. It appears there is free street parking. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. I had the Cheung fun with peanuts, Cheung fun with egg, shrimp fried rice, this green dessert, and tofu wrapped around rice roll. Everything was delicious. Cheung fun and tofu wrapped around rice roll were my favorite. The Cheung fun was thin and the sauce was so delicious! The tofu was crispy and it had some garlic inside and it was so delicious. The waitress brought out an extra sauce for my Cheung fun without me asking. They were very attentive. Restaurant was also really clean. I live in Thousand Oaks but needed to come into this area for business and decided to give this place a try. Well worth it and I will be back again next time I am in town. I also purchased another Cheung fun with peanuts to go and my daughters loved it and they are picky eaters.”

“Love the pizza. I wish they would expand their toppings. The one complaint is their online ordering form by Tabit.us is terrible to use. The fields for data entry are too small, and you can’t see if you’ve made an entry error. For example when entering my phone number I accidentally hit one wrong number, and didn’t see it until it went to send the confirmation code to the wrong number. I used the back arrow, and was not able to enter a new phone number. I deleted the whole order, reordered, and it pulled up the wrong phone number again. The only way I was able to place an order was to delete the order AGAIN, log out of the website, log back in, and select NO to Use location? Terrible ordering experience that could easily be fixed with a better form design. It’s not rocket science.”

I was hungry today and only had a few minutes to grab lunch, so I stumbled upon this place. It’s a quick grab-and-go setup, kind of like Panda Express, where you pick 4 items plus your choice of white rice, fried rice, or noodles for only $14. They also offer free tea and free daily soup, which is a nice bonus!

Honestly, I think the food tastes way better than Panda Express. I especially enjoyed the free soup—it was delicious! 🤤 They have tons of options, from different proteins and vegetables to vegetarian choices, so there’s something for everyone.

So far, so good! I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other dishes.

“I've been ordering food from China express for the past 2 years. I'm satisfied all the time. I usually order through uber eats since it's the only way I can get my salt n pepper shrimp lol. It's because when I go in person and ask for it, I get told they don't have that but whenever I order through uber I always get it and it's delicious. (I promise it's the correct restaurant). Either way, the chow mein is great. Fried rice is great too. Not mushy, not dry, perfectly cooked and not overly greasy. Their broccoli beef, spicy fried chicken, and omg the orange chicken. Their orange chicken has a perfect taste and I love that even though it's nicely coated with the sweet glaze, the chicken still maintains it's crunch. (I have a problem with soggy mushy orange chicken from other places). Plus, I always know, that I will always have seconds to for dinner or take for lunch the next day. Plus, it's not overly pricey.”

I'm a drive through person and I normally get the older Spanish speaking woman whom is very sweet, she always asks me about my dog when she sees me since my pup would sometimes go with me to get food and I love that she asks about her or I get Leslie who's also very lovely and sweet. By know I think she already knows what I get by heart since right before she hands me my food she asks if I would like some ketchup and goes no right and I just smile and say no thank you 😂 Best Carl's Jr location over here!”

The location is currently under construction, so just keep that in mind — but the remodel is looking really nice and worth it. The inside decor has a modern feel with touches of art that make it stand out.
I also loved seeing that they’ve been established since 1988 — it shows their history in the community and adds a nice, local touch.
The staff here are very friendly, respectful, and welcoming. They provide great service and make the experience smooth from start to finish. Another big plus is that this location accepts EBT, which is really helpful.
The food was fresh, the service was quick, and they even play good music while you dine in, which adds to the overall vibe.

The con however is the tripe does not get the opportunity to develop flavor from the broth nor the broth from the other ingredients. The broth on its own is well seasoned with great flavor so it doesn't fall short, but it is missing the depth of flavor. On the pro side the broth is clean without any grease, and you can oder it to your liking.”

The tea itself is just okay — not super strong — and the drinks can lean on the sweeter side. I usually order mine with 1/4 sugar since I don’t like them too sweet.

Overall, it’s not a spot I’d go out of my way for, but if you’re in El Monte and really craving boba, it does the job.”

“Their steamed small meat buns (fermented‑dough xiao long bao) are really tasty, tiny and satisfying. The boiled dumplings are also great, with juicy broth inside.
The lady owner is super warm and welcoming. Food comes out extremely fast since they are pre‑prepared. Great quick meal, will come back again!”

“I love the choice between fried and roasted chicken. Chicken was flavorful and good next day. I like plantains, rice and those beans were oh so good!! The yucca fries unfortunately were not, bland and didn't feel cooked thru. I ordered both a family and individual meal and requested rolls instead of tortillas. When I got home, there was only one roll and no tortillas. So insulting and luckily I had tortillas as home but i was so bummed, because the roll was really good. I'll come back, but next time. I'm making sure those damn rolls are in there!”

“Very good place to get your Peruvian food fix. The menu is pretty diverse. We got the classic lomo saltado and tried the ceviche de pescado. They first gave us bread that was garlic bread surprisingly with the aji sauce. It was delicious and spicy and garlicky. The ceviche de pescado was excellent. It had that tangy citrus orange marinade with lime and with the nuts and corn nuts. The white fish was soft and cooked thoroughly and delicious. The lomo came out in huge portions that surprised me (basically two meals). The sauce and fries went well together with the onions rice and tomatoes. The meat was decent and it all went together well.

The table came in a lazy Susan style for family style sharing which is convenient. The waiter was very nice but not very attentive as we had to ask for water and check & boxes by intentionally getting their attention and walking to them for assistance. The decor is very chill and homely with a variety of music in the background. The whole place is very red and decorated with various Peruvian cultural references.

Prices are fairly reasonable for the portions you get.”
