“Everything was amazing from the service to the food and sushi and the environment is unassuming and comfortable. Top notch!”
“TLDR: good food, okay service.
I'll start with the good 😊 My husband and I have come here quite a bit throughout the years and have attended a handful of the special events they've put together. They had a rum event where they paired dishes with a variety of rum tastings. It was a great date night and nights like that will keep us coming back. I also remember a delicious to-go Valentine's box during covid that was so thoughtful and delicious. We have enjoyed tasting every dish we've been able to try.
A couple of our favorites have been the smoked trout on ciabatta and the ricotta gnudi. The smoked trout is a hearty bite but somehow light at the same time haha. It's craveable. We like it as a starter or if we're still feeling hungry after a few other dishes. The ricotta gnudi however, is sooo rich and satisfying after a few bites, making it a very decadent and shareable plate. It's probably too much for only two people but we still eat all five pieces and only feel a little guilty after. I give 5 out of 5 stars for the food here.
With that being said, we recently went to try Antonia's winning dishes from ToC. We ordered both dishes and felt like they were probably better when Antonia made them haha. The sausage didn't have a great texture and both dishes needed salt but overall, they weren't bad and I'm happy we tried them.
I think they fall a little short in customer service and possibly staffing. We have had a couple of good interactions but on the norm, it seems like they are understaffed in areas. This is the reason I'm giving 4 stars vs 5. Well, that and because we'll often book a reservation online but when we show up, we have unfortunately been seated at the worst tables. It's usually the smallest table they have and in a very noisy location. Maybe we have had bad luck. Maybe it's because we're two small people without a dog, so they think we'll be happy crammed into the smallest spot they have?
This last visit, we were lead to an indoor table that was sandwiched between two large groups. On one side, the table was about an inch away from someone's back. On the other side, there was a group of about 12 girls having a bachelorette party and scream laughing. We just knew it would be hard to have a conversation there, so we asked about seating outside. They accommodated us by seating us at maybe the next worst table haha. It was just outside the front door but we knew it would be 100% better than where we were. We appreciate them moving us 🙏
I guess the point to that story is, be vocal on where you want to sit. Also, your chances of getting a good table seems to increase if you bring your dog haha, which is unfortunate.
Oh! And as far as parking goes, it's a little hard to find a spot but they offer valet. The area around the restaurant is super cute if you want to walk around a bit before or after your meal. I recommend checking out Color Me Mine just down the street for a nice date night.”
“This place is the Go-To spot for sushi.. always fresh and delicious 😋”
“Reall bomb sushi rolls were the yellowtail and spicy tuna roll. Wow. Our waiters suggestions didn't disappoint and only impressed us with the high quality of flavor from this restaurant. Would go here again and ambience is very romantic”
“I am extremely loyal to our local sushi restaurant gems all along Ventura blvd and have my staples saying that none compare to this most amazing sushi spot we've discovered and many have already known about and it is Sushi Tomoki! Wow! Paradise for sushi lovers and I must say from the moment you enter this most authentic of joints it takes your heart and you fall in love with the chefs, the ladies and gentleman serving you and guiding you along the way is next level. We absolutely have found our local spot for good. Magic!”

“Katsu-ya is my neighborhood sushi spot, and it is a good one. This is not the place you go when you want the best sushi of your life or a meal that is going to blow your mind. This is where you go when you want good, consistent sushi any day of the week.
It is the Toyota Avalon of sushi restaurants, on the upper end of reliable, and I go there constantly. They are always busy and have many celebrity clients, if that matters to you. Service is consistently great as well. If you want a table, it is best to make a reservation since they are often very busy.”
“Must get sushi, but don’t forget the corn tempura and momotaro tomato (seasonal). Awesome sake selection too.”
“The Rendition Room is hands down my favorite spot in LA. From the moment you step through the hidden bookshelf door, it’s like you’ve been transported back to the 1930s…intimate, cozy, and just the right amount of mystery. But what really makes this place shine is Richy. He’s not just a bartender; he’s a mixologist in every sense of the word. Every drink he makes feels like it’s been crafted just for you. Beyond that, Richy’s warmth and sincerity are what truly set him apart. You’re not just another customer to him…he makes you feel welcome, like an old friend, every time you stop by. The Rendition Room nails it when it comes to atmosphere, cocktails, and overall vibe. Whether you’re celebrating something big or just want a cool night out, this is the place. It’s a hidden gem that never disappoints.”

“Phenomenal service and amazing Gelato in the Italian style from Argentina 🇦🇷. Very friendly and welcoming. Lots of places to sit, work, visit. They've even got a back patio with gorgeous umbrellas. Great wifi and also coffee options. Support local and come enjoy some of the best coffee and dessert in LA”

“I had a pita with spicy kebab and it was absolutely amazing! One of the freshest and tastiest places I’ve eaten at. Everything felt homemade, full of flavor, and truly authentic. It was like a real Israeli food experience — delicious, warm, and satisfying. Highly recommended!”

“Came in after passing by many times and I am so glad I did. The food was simply phenomenal, the service was so good - attentive, friendly, knowledgeable about the extensive menu and specials. Even the ambiance was such a fun balance of coastal Italian, California kitsch and nostalgia. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back.”
“This predominantly vegan restaurant serves a good variety of delicious, fresh and healthy fare. I recommend the lentil loaf, colossal kale salad, flautas, and the orange cauliflower lo mein among others, and I hear the breakfast items (served all day) are excellent. Arlene is a fantastic server. In addition to the mostly vegan items, the eclectic menu also recently added some vegetarian but non-vegan entrees and even fish. This has drawn some unfair criticism. Please keep in mind that times are very difficult now for restaurants, and at least doubly so for vegetarian and vegan restaurants. If the inclusion of a few non-vegan items helps keep this gem of an eatery with a predominantly vegan/vegetarian menu afloat, then all the better for all of us.”
“We were 5 ppl ,ordered like 8 dishes all were amazingly great my first time to Gokaku Rama. Was so worth it after all day in universal su Dr ios,3 min drive to Gokaku place ..I did not want to end my meal .this is the best restaurant”

“So delicious. Everything was perfect. We had steamed dumplings with one of the most delicious dipping sauces! The Tom Kha Tofu soup was definitely the best Tom Kha I've ever had. Carbonara was also really good. We were so excited about the menu that we also grabbed two extra dishes something to go. We didn't expect portions to be sooo big but no complaints here ;) just more left overs for tomorrow”

“I have eaten at Flavor of India several times and did so very recently with a friend. This place has amazing food and service! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is excellent and I strongly recommend them. The atmosphere is great too!”
Takeout Restaurants
“Ending our dinner at Sugarfish, the host recommended we try Van Leeuwen Ice Cream..and wow, I’m so glad we did. I got the Earl Grey and Sugar Cookie Dough, and it was absolutely delicious. The small cup was the perfect amount to end the evening.
The cashier was incredibly kind and let us sample several flavors until we found the ones we loved, which made the experience even better. Everything was so yummy 😋
Highly recommend if you’re near one of their locations..and bonus, they have vegan options too!”
“are you kidding? The Best!”
“Loooove this place so much. One of our favorite neighborhood places. Laid back, with delicious food and wonderful staff.
We love the steamed chicken gyoza, the cut sushi rolls, and the sashimi bowls. The chicken katsu Don is AMAZING, as is the zaru soba and the curry katsu rice bowl.
Much easier to get in for lunch, though we usually go for dinner. It’s a small space and you put your name on a list for a table upon arrival, so show up with your whole party to be seated. Street parking is usually easier than trying to valet.”
“Super good, quick and really great service. The appetizer, Popular demand, was something I had never tried before and it was so yummy we ordered 2. We also had sweet Hawaiian roll and shooting star. Very good! Shooting star was my fave. Reasonable prices and it feels somewhat upscale.”
“S & S - Sarah and sandwiches were awesome. Also, you know the vibes are good when the person in front of you buys you Cookies to pay it forward. Thank you, Michael. I appreciate you restoring faith in humanity (and I can’t wait for them to add your sandwich to the menu, meatball, Parmesan, with tuna and peppers)”
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Italian restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and charming—perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special night out. The décor and ambiance immediately gave off authentic Italian vibes, making the experience feel genuine and cozy.
The menu is extensive and full of traditional Italian dishes, from fresh pastas and risottos to wood-fired pizzas and classic entrees. I tried several dishes, including homemade pasta and a perfectly baked pizza, and every bite was outstanding. The flavors were rich, fresh, and authentic, with perfectly balanced sauces, fresh herbs, and quality ingredients. You could really taste the care and attention put into each dish.
The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation of the food was beautiful. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. I particularly loved the tiramisu for dessert—it was creamy, perfectly sweet, and a delightful end to the meal.
The staff was exceptional—friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. They were happy to offer recommendations, answer questions, and make sure our dining experience was top-notch. Service was timely, and everything arrived just as we ordered.
The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and has a welcoming vibe. Whether you’re coming for a casual meal, a family dinner, or a special occasion, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy authentic Italian food. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes, making it excellent value.
Overall, this Italian restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience—authentic flavors, generous portions, friendly service, and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. “My family and I have been going to the Good Neighbor for over 20+ years, and always great food and excellent service!”

“I go to the Tujunga Kreation everyday. The team is always pleasant & knowledgeable giving great customer service. I usually call ahead for my order, which is always ready when I arrive. Alex and the rest of the team pride themselves in having your order correct & ready!”

“It's a little hole in the wall that most probably drive past all the time. Totally worth stopping. I'm glad I did. I had a bacon avocado burger. It was very tasty. Thick meat patty Not a smashburger and that was done the right way. A great bun makes a burger the greens on the burger not just iceberg but a flavorful spring mix beef seasoning was on point. Next time I come in I will be trying something different and will update soon”
“Love Vitellos, feels like an awesome local secret, while being a classic la restaurant at the same time. Great food, amazing staff and fun night out. They always seem to find a way to connect to the neighborhood in new and interesting ways as well.”
“Darren is the greatest server i’ve ever had and the snickerdoodle and little gem salad are outstanding. Ireen is also incredibly nice best dining experience ever”
“Great sportsbar. Love the open air concept. Small and quaint inside. Wings were phenomenal. Late night happy hour is cool. There is half off a few items I didn’t take advantage of. I came specifically for bone in wings and ranch and was impressed :)”

“I am latina and typically I prefer to eat authentic Mexican food at home but this place really does serve authentic Mexican food and happy to know if I'm craving an enchilada, taquitos or chilaquiles, I can hit this spot so close to work.
I've tried their Breakfast and lunch and everything has been delicious. Their breakfast egg, bacon and pancakes platter 10 out if 10. Their popular Enchiladas Ranchera, on point. Mole chicken enchiladas BOMBAY!! And I'm picky as hell when it comes to mole. Recently ordered a Chicken Caesar salad, as well as their seasoned potato wedges (they don't serve fries), big portions and so good. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable. Oh and almost forgot, in my last visit there was a complimentary chips and salsa mini bar. Friendly staff, fast service, good food, great prices. It is 1000% a hidden gem in Studio City.”
“Honestly, about the best gelato I’ve had outside of Italy. I’ve had gelato in Rome and Venice, Amsterdam in various other countries. Gelato in the United States has always pale in comparison but this place does it right. However, at $10 for a small you’re absolutely gonna pay for it and it boggles my mind how desensitize people have come to just opening their wallets.”
“Clean, consistent, and easily the best Shake Shack I’ve been to in LA. Fresh food, quick service, and reliable every time.
This Ventura Blvd location has been the most consistent Shake Shack experience for me. I’ve been to Downtown LA and West Hollywood and those can feel a little hit or miss, but this one always delivers. The ShackBurger was fresh and balanced. Crinkle-cut fries were hot and crispy, and the order came out quickly.
Parking can be a little chaotic during lunch, so keep an eye out so you don’t miss it. There is parking in the back on the opposite side of the street behind the restaurant. It does a lot of DoorDash and pickup traffic, but it never feels overwhelmingly busy inside. Space is clean, service is efficient, and overall quality control here feels stronger than other locations.
Pro tips:
• Watch carefully for parking during peak lunch hours
• Use the rear lot across the street if front spots are full
• This location feels fresher and more consistent than others in LA”
“I used the Vons app today for a one hour delivery time frame via the Carlsbad, CA store. After the third-party member picked up the order and did not deliver for almost three hours, I requested a refund for the melted ice cream which I received promptly. I certainly did not expect to see this a couple of hours later: a refund for the entire purchase...thank you Vons for going above and beyond with your customer service!”
“I stopped in this location today for a gluten-free sub and I was so impressed by how careful they were to avoid gluten contamination. Being able to find gluten-free food that tastes good is pretty great, but I don't think I've seen another place that was this careful to avoid shared places or clean shared equipment that had to be used.”
“Not only is the pizza absolutely incredible but their customer service is super old school and classy. They got my pizza order wrong ones and I called back and Karina told me to mention it was okay with her and I would get a free pizza next time. I asked for a coupon and she said it was unnecessary. I never figured that they would actually honor it, but guess what they actually did. That's just old school business values. Incredible.”
“A very nice and cute Coffee Shop with a really good coffee. Just had a sand coffee and the taste was really good. The interior is very simple but yet comfy.
Nothing crazy fancy or pretending to be something luxury just to be able to overcharge for the coffee. That’s what I like about coffee shops.
It’s a new, cute business in LA that you can see is focused to provide good quality product.”
“Their beef tallow fried French fries are so addictive! I literally keep coming back just for the fries. Lol Their smash burgers are fire! The service is friendly and they are always helpful and knowledgeable about beer suggestions. The graffiti art the entire building is done in makes it a great spot for influencers like me to post to my 750,000 followers! They love my posts from here bc there is always something cool to look at. Lol 😆 They are always playing some quality tunes on the sound system, so always good musical vibes.”
“Cool dicey bar feel with great drinks and fabulous bartenders! Loved it when it was Oyster Bar, and still loving it as Oy bar!!!”
