“Our visit to Stoke's Adobe last weekend produced the best meal I've had on The Peninsula in a decade! Restauranteur, Sarah Orr, has hit one out of the park. The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.”

From the start, working with Anne was a wonderful experience. She was extremely responsive via email and made sure all of our requests were fulfilled. The team was so accommodating and ensured our cake would be ready and perfect for our special day, which gave us such peace of mind.
Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how good the cake tasted — light, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness.
Side note: Their almond croissants are incredible — we’re obsessed. We’ve already decided to come back on our one-year anniversary to pick up a mini version of our wedding cake and relive the magic of that day.

“Can't recommend this place enough. From being greeted by the hostess to being seated. Our service was amazing and attentive. There are plenty of beer choices. As you will see in the pictures from a dark brown to a hef.
The wings are smoked with a dry rub. I can't explain the flavor except unique. The wings were huge.
The pan pizza had a baked crisped top and was combined with a pan style”

“I first visited this amazing local deli in 1989-1990. I remembered the half loaves of bread stacked high with a pile of my choice of meats and cheeses. Although I was only 18-19, Compagno’s established my standard for an amazing sandwich. 32 years later I brought my sons here for lunch. Same delicious goodness a generation later.”

You you also have a choice of delicious breads, and you can customize your sandwich if you wish! The staff is always courteous, and quick. “This place was magical from the second we walked through the turquoise-colored door with its old fashioned door knob. We had no reservation & we were coming from Fieldwork brewing (so my hubby really needed to eat). They had no spots available (reservations are nearly necessary here on Fri. & Sat. they informed us later). However, they promptly set up backyard heater & provided blankets for our quickly provided outdoor seating. We ordered 2 shots of mezcal (cause we were outside & it was kinda cold), which the manager informed us they only served the best ;) They sent out it a waitperson who informed us “I’ll be taking care of you tonight.” Which turned out to be true from the service to dinner/dessert recommendations, and packing up our leftover beans to take home. Eventually, they moved us inside because of a cancelation. And I haven’t even started on the carefully crafted cocktails & food. So meticulously crafted, and presented. I rarely favor restaurant food over my own cooking ability, but I can confidently say their food is way better than my own lol. Again, everything was beautiful, perfect, & delicious! Also, I’m thinking the line for coffee & morning eats at their sister bakery Alta can attest to amazing, soon to be Monterey culinary fixture. Thank you for the memorable night & dinner Cella! The hotel is in a weird part of the neighborhood that made me think there might be some seedy businesses nearby, the small parking lot behind the building is accessed by an extremely narrow alleyway and I was afraid I might have trouble turning the car around, and the rooms are small. —- BUT —- The hotel has tons of charm and they work hard to make your stay memorable. Our room was thoughtfully appointed with hardwood flooring and a heated tile bathroom, supportive pillows, an electric fireplace, a wireless charger, a jetted tub, and Charmin toilet paper! The window opened out to a small hint of a balcony. As we were coming and going throughout our stay I was touched to see the cleaning staff spend so much time cleaning just one room, and even at one out I saw one of them polishing the baseboards. The breakfast was delicious, with freshly baked popovers hot out of the oven accompanied by butter and homemade jam. The lemon ricotta pancakes were very good — I had no idea lemon could taste fragrant and floral without being sour. The polenta was buttery and delicious. We got to meet the owner Nick, who was very nice. Tony checked us in and served us breakfast with a smile every morning.”

“Living overseas I've missed good Mexican food. I was very pleased with the Super Burrito that I ordered. Everything was pretty delicious, from the rice to the beans to the grilled chicken. The only thing that I wasn't too crazy about was the salsa that was included inside, it didn't really have a taste to me. Plus, the whole burrito became a little too wet and mushy. I appreciated the fork, but I don't want to eat a burrito with a fork--it's like eating sushi with a spoon.

Service was wonderful. The guys working there are really nice, patient, and helpful. If I visit CA again, and find myself in Monterey, I'll definitely pay a visit.”

“I'll say that this Tipsy Putt doesn't compare at all to the one we went to in Denver, Colorado. This is an incredible bar, awesome place to get drinks with the boys (or girls), but its not much of mini golf place. This seems more like a bar started by bros who love golf and beer. We really enjoyed our time here, but thought it more of a bar with a few small mini golf holes. Prices were high but Monterrey is a huge touristy area, so its to be expected. We would definitely come back, but more for the environment than the mini golf.”

We're returning to the U.S. after many years overseas.”

“This Jack in the Box is an oasis in the food desert that is lower Munras avenue. Who has time for delicious meals cooked from scratch at way better eateries like The Wild Plum, Krua Thai or even The Great Wall? I know I don't. Just this week I grabbed two tacos for the wifey, a spicy Jack wrap for yours truly, hamburgers for the kids and a large curly fries for the whole family in less time than it took to write this review. I don't get high anymore but if I did I'd hit that l8 night stoner menu fo sho.”

And the turkish speaking lady and the gentleman behind the counter did make us feel welcomed. BTW Do ask for price of items you pick to buy as not every item is price tagged. Overall a positive experience!”

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.”

“Stopped in for lunch as we were walking around the downtown area. Clean, aesthetic atmosphere. Incredibly delicious burgers. Everyone in our party of six chose a different option. I had the Sur mushroom burger, absolutely delicious. Another in our party got the Phoenix Chicken Sandwich, incredibly spicy and yummy with a family recipe of hot coleslaw that was amazing, but definitely not for an amateur palette. Be prepared for the level of heat lol. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend for a great family lunch spot.The fries and mozzarella sticks were so delicious as well.”

I opted for the classic pretzel with garlic seasoning and added eight mini hot dogs for an extra savoury bite. The hot dogs, mustard, and ketchup were a delicious combination. The mini sausages are likely wrapped in pretzel dough, giving them a satisfying texture that's perfect for on-the-go eating.

While the pretzels & mini dogs are a bit greasy for my taste, they're a comforting and warming snack on a chilly day. The combination of flavours and textures is quite satisfying.”

“Picked up food to go last year and it was really good. So happy that we found this place again! Ordered garlic parm and spicy fried chicken wing plates, lemongrass chicken and beef meatball pho. Also ordered strawberry and melon boba milk tea and Vietnamese coffee with egg cream. Food and drinks came out quickly. Customer service was great. It was so good that we ate and drank everything! Shareable too! I had the Spanish Margarita for my cocktail and that was delicious too. Left completely stuffed. Definitely worth it.”

The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water offered spectacular views. Next time we visit the area, there will definitely be a return trip to Lalla Grill!”
