“Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. I look forward to any trips I take across town from Vancouver to Tigard, and make a point to stop in and grab a bite.”

“Heard they had great food, and being in the mood for great food, we went to the Gresham branch. Wowza. Their SMALL Margarita is a very healthy serving. She added mango, I added strawberry for $0.50 each. They have a lot of offerings and many are much larger. Chunky guacamole was exactly as advertised and very tasty. Both of us had Fajitas which were served on a sizzling platter. Probably could have shared one, but we like leftovers so that was fine; as there was a LOT of leftovers. Shared a flan dessert, which was super yummy and served with whipped cream. Service was good and very attentive. More chips? Right away. You know how someone always asks "how's it going" just as you take a bite? Gave 'em two thumbs up at least three times. It was not quite too much attention, but close. Atmosphere was clean, modern and pleasant. Menus are VERY extensive and detailed. Exterior signage is quite low key. Guessing that's by careful design. Had we not heard good things, we might not have gone in. Guess that's ok, I think you'll want to tell your friends.”

“I saw the negative reviews and was dismayed. BUT when we got there and saw the amount of people who were enjoying themselves. This amount of people would not have been and I was heartened by this. First off the service people. When we asked they were prompt. The sushi filled me up. The variety was astounding. I tried most of their different prepared vegetables dishes. Beef dishes as well. My wife ate her fill of various shellfish and other different kinds of seafood. The little dishes of ice cream was a nice touch for desert. It has a bit of everything for everybody. I highly recommend this restaurant. This is our favorite restaurant. Easy to find. Easy to get to. Lots of parking room.”

“This was a return trip to Fogon Criollo for us. The food is that good. The staff once again made us feel right at home. We opened with a tall glass of chicha, which never fails to delight the palate. The chicken Tallarin is my go-to entree, but literally anything on their menu is worth tasting. It is a smallish place, but very comfortable and pleasant. The Peruvian music videos on the big screen are an extra bonus. Go and enjoy.”

You must get the secret sauce too. 😋It’s as if food truck food collided with restaurant quality. Everyone should be trying Zeno’s Fusion. It’s a bonus that they are veteran owned and ran. “I absolutely love the food at MoMo Thai House! It truly elevates traditional Thai cuisine to a new level, offering a delightful twist on familiar flavors. One of the standout features of MoMo’s is the option to add duck to any dish. This flexibility is fantastic, as it allows you to customize your meal rather than being limited to specialty dishes that include duck.

One dish that I highly recommend is the Pineapple Fried Rice with Duck, prepared medium spicy. The combination of flavors is simply irresistible, with the sweetness of the pineapple balancing perfectly with the richness of the duck. The dish is a testament to the creative and thoughtful approach the chefs take in crafting their menu.

Every item I've tried at MoMo's has been delicious, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you choose. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is always friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. Additionally, parking is very easy, which is a bonus for those who might otherwise worry about finding a spot in a busy area. Don’t forget to check out the daily specials written on the board—they often feature unique dishes that are worth a try! Overall, MoMo Thai House is a gem that I can’t recommend enough.”

“I've always had decent food here at Bannings. This morning I ordered Pumpkin pancakes.....what a disappointment. The pumpkin batter needed salt added to it and it also could have used a bit more sugar in the batter. The syrup was not real maple syrup but table top ad says, "warm maple syrup," so I expected real maple syrup. It also says, "whipped butter." I asked the waiter about the maple syrup and he told me it was "artificial" maple and argued the fact that the restaurant never said "real" maple syrup. Maybe the butter is whipped margarine...who knows what liberties are taken in menu descriptions. I'm a "real" maple syrup customer.”

About 12 tables, 50 seats, can easily handle a group of eight, more I would call in advance. They can get busy, but they are fast and there seemed to be enough tables as people wait for to go orders.

Right next to Washington square, easy access on and off highway 217. Medium parking lot that seemed busy but sufficient.

That being said, the food at Starbucks is dismal. Dystopian prices for tiny things that are usually stale or just inadequate. Microwaved, gluten gut-busters, or condensed, granulated sugar. Those are your "options". There's a bank across the street if you need to take out a loan for a cookie.

I guess you can't have a billionaire CEO and bags of flour and an actual oven, but at least price the cookie from 3.65$ (?) down to like 2 dollars. Which is still more than what it's worth, but a change in the right direction.

Otherwise it's great! 2.65$ for a tall coffee with free refills. That won't last long though, as prices seem to jump up every week (greedflation). I'll come back here in a year to laugh at the 5 dollar brownie...”

Everyone is always friendly, even the day when they were unexpectedly closed and had set up a table outside with free drip coffee and I'm sure the few people there were super stressed and flustered, but they were all friendly apologies for the inconvenience. And my drinks are always excellent and just as I ordered them!”

“I'm not sure why in my mind I expected a mediocre experience but man was I wrong and glad of it.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and got the French Dip and Santa Fe Chicken Panini. We split them so we were able to both try two different sandwiches and they were stellar. The French Dip was the best I have ever experienced, even beating my own cooking as well as the Panini brought together flavors in a manner which I had never tried before and it was refreshing. All the wait staff were amazing and some even dressed up for the holiday spirit!

You can order your pizza on cauliflower crust. they also have pretty tasty sodas/pops in glass bottles. along with refillable fountain drinks. All I can say is if you are unsure and new, definately try it out at least once.”

“Moved to Portland not too long ago and hadn't had much luck finding good Mexican food. Low and behold I found Livi's tucked away in Tigard. Real taqueria food. The birria, al pastor, and carnitas all hit the spot. I might have to pickup jogging or try Livi's ensalada if this turns into a regular thing. Online ordering is easy, the staff is friendly, the truck is clean, and the food is more than satisfying, what's not to love?”
