“We were worried getting out of a late meeting and we didn’t think we would be able to find a really good meal with it being after 9pm. We were wrong! We followed our GPS to this restaurant and the place was so welcoming. They let us sample before we decided on our meals and everything we tried was delicious and most importantly FRESH! To get a meal THIS good at this time of night blew us away! We will be coming back and will be using their catering option as well for a summer birthday party! Please try and return for another ! Visit the Annnandale location! And once you’re done with the delicious dinner, please save room for the crepes they have here!”

“Decided to try mae ornnit with my sister based on the strong reviews they have. Our server provided excellent, attentive service from start to finish. Mixed reviews on the food: Papaya salad was a downer. Lacks that nice flavor with fish sauce and papaya slices were sliced a bit too thick. Tom kha gai and chicken wonton soups were a winner. Lovely coconut milk flavor for tom kha soup. Fried tofu was pretty decent. The sweet and sour sauce for crispy flounder rocked, but I was expecting a slightly fresher flounder than what we had. Overall a pretty nice experience and we may return if we pass by the area again.”

After dinner you get a traditional fortune cookie and two fresh orange slices. I love this place. Sometimes you don't want the newest trendy thing, just the comforting classics.”

They actually make stuff spicy flavor good flavor someone in the past did order the pad Thai and they said the noodles are different. I don’t know pad Thai so I don’t know”

“Favorite Salvadorean cuisine. My favorite meal is the "yuca con chicharrón," which is fried yucca root and pork crackling (rinds). This also includes shredded cabbage in the center as a side. I recommend reheating in an oven for better taste and texture.My second favorite meal is the chicken sandwich, which includes fries. It's about 8", has some lettuce and mayo in it. Pretty tasty. Same as above for reheating.My favorite sides are red beans or "pupusa revuelta." Pupusas are probably a transliteration of "pupus" or "pu-pu platters," which are similar to "tapas." These are bite-sized entrees or platters, but in this case, it is a fried, corn meal, pancake-like item similar to a 'tamal' in that it is corn-based, but it is flat and round and filled with either cheese, beans, or a combination of both (revuelta).Lastly, no meal comes with a drink included, but you can choose soft drinks, water, beer, coconut water, "horchata" or "jugo de marañón" (cashew juice). Horchata is the name of several kinds of beverages, made of ground almonds, sesame seeds, rice, barley, tigernuts, or melon seeds (in this case, it's a powdered mix). Jugo de marañon is cashew juice, a light sweet juice somewhat similar to guava juice and almond milk combined.Prices are very, very reasonable as is the quality of food. However, I cannot guarantee the best customer service. This does not deter my 5-star rating because I enjoy the food, not the people.Lastly, there is music videos or live fútbol (soccer) usually playing on about 3-4 TVs. “Wife and I love this place. Very chill whole in the wall kind of place. Came here almost every week for most of last winter. Continues to be a regular spot because of how simple, cheap and good it is. Love the spicy pork dish - Jayuk Bokeum. A bit pricy but is huge and almost feeds two people. Wife loves the tofu soup. Mandu and the kimchi or seafood pancakes are great starters. Kimchi and tea come with every meal. Have had kimchi at lots of asian spots but this is by far the best kimchi ever. Will continue to frequent this spot”

“New Tosokjib focuses on traditional Korean fare, and the food js consistently good. The menu has a decent variety of options, and a couple of the stews and scallion seafood pancake are good. For non-spicy diners, recommend the samgaetang (chicken stew) and mandoo-kook (dumpling soup).

On the downside, the restaurant is really no frills. The service leaves much to be desired and is downright cold. Good luck asking for extra napkins. You will get a death stare along with a couple of kiddie napkins.”

Although they have no vegetarian options, he worked with me and provided me with an alternate option. It would be more awesome for them to add it to their menu tho for those of us who just love veggies. The broth is vegetarian based so it makes sense to have a vegetarian option along with it. We had a party of 8 and Jay Kim made it so much fun!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. One other option that would have been great to have would be fresh ginger at the sauce bar and mushrooms on the vegetable plate. We were all pleasantly pleased with our food. The ambiance is very nice, low light but more than enough to cook and enjoy each other's company. Jay Kim made sure we always had what we needed. The sauce bar was amazing, so many choices. I recommend making a few bowls, some for the broth and and some for dipping your cooked food. If you get any type of meat, also make a sauce to marinade the meat. You don't have to but it made a good difference. Meats are thinly sliced for quick cooking and again,so fresh. The price was worth the amount of food and the experience. There is an all you can eat option or an a la carte option where you just get one meat selection and a vegetable plate which was more than enough for us as a party of young ladies. This was a great first hot pot experience and I definitely recommend it, just make sure to ask for Jay Kim. I know you will enjoy it!!!”

“Great food, generous portions, cozy atmosphere!

Went to Izakaya Khan on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised — not too crowded and no reservation needed. It’s a cute little izakaya with a solid menu and fair prices.

The assorted yakitori offered great variety and was very affordable. Some pork skewers were a bit tough, but most others were delicious and fun to try.

The fried shrimp was a highlight — super juicy and fresh inside, crispy outside, and not greasy at all, even after it cooled down.

The tonkatsu rice bowl came in a generous portion and was satisfying overall. Nothing too surprising, but still quite good.

The stir-fried large intestine had a Korean-style spicy sauce — fragrant, flavorful, and really enjoyable. A bit spicy for my personal taste, but would go perfectly with a bowl of rice.

Portions were big and prices reasonable. We ordered several dishes and couldn’t even finish everything between two people. Definitely a spot I’d come back to for a relaxed and tasty meal.”

“I love trying out places with unique drinks and Ben Gong's Tea in Annandale is a location with many unique drinks. Of course, they have your traditional boba tea and various fruits teas but I love their fermented rice milk tea series. I appreciate how a lot of their drinks come with crystal jellies already too. Also highly recommend their strawberry yukult if you love fruity and sweet drinks!

Their drinks are not very sweet to begin with so if you prefer sweeter drinks I recommend going with 70%+ sugar. Around 50% and less it isn't really sweet anymore!”
