“Flavorful, upbeat and great service. Had a reservation at the bar and was happy to see how quickly and meticulously the staff worked and how kindly the Chef treated his staff.
The cobb salad left a lasting impression on me. It even inspired me to recreate it at home a few days later. The bone marrow toast was like a French onion soup on bread but better! Suckling pig and foie gras were ok. Wish I could of stayed longer and tried more dishes but had to run to another reservation. I will definitely be back.”

Their was a surprise birthday cake for me made by Ilma. Such a memorable experience. Only complaint is that there should've been like 30 of those deviled eggs....lol Thanks for the great meal and everlasting memories.”

“Last month our flight to Portland was delayed a considerable amount of time due to weather issues and it looked as though we would not be able to make our 5p.m. reservation. My daughter called from the tarmac in Boston where we were rerouted and refueled and explained the situation. The hostess, Susie, was very understanding and compassionate And said that even though our table was booked for another party a 7, we should come in and she would see what she could do. We got there late but Susie greeted us warmly and told us not to worry about being rushed that she had arranged things so no one would be inconvenienced. The atmosphere was warm and cozy; the food so very delicious and our waitperson, Anika, was the best. Atmosphere, impeccable service, food and warmth all rate 5 stars and another visit next time we are in Portland.”

“Leeward is a phenomenal restaurant with food better than we’ve had in Italy. It has a carefully curated and thoughtful wine list, and the servers are extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

The one issue that detracts from the experience is the kitchen’s repeated failure to pace courses. Notwithstanding the fact that we have pleaded with servers on multiple occasions, busers continue to deliver plates before we finish each course. The result is feeling rushed rather than exhilarated by the Leeward’s incredible dishes. We hope the kitchen manager takes heed of this persistent problem since Leeward is one of our favorite destinations on the planet.”

“Just finished one of the BEST Italian meals ive ever had in my restaurant going life in a place id never have expected to and thats saying something being a 1st Generation Italian coming from NY ! ViA VECCHiA is Portland, Maine was absolutely 10/10 on everything they did! We started with Meatballs, Whipped Ricotta & Grilled Octopus. The meatballs reminded me of my mothers, the ricotta was tremendous with truffle honey & sesame breadsticks and the octopus was grilled perfectly. One dish was better than the next. We shared ravioli with as an entree and we never felt gross like we ate too much. The portion sizes were PERFECT. Wrapped the night off with a espresso infused cheesecake over salted caramel. Wow. Staff was incredibly accommodating, professional and polite. Service was excellent! If youre ever in Portland, ME you must go get a meal here!”

Having walked in with zero expectations, we were surprised to see how full and vibrant the place felt. Our server was fantastic and walked us through several of the menu options. Needless to say, it was all amazing. We feel lucky to have been able to dine here. Best meal in Portland.”

“I normally do no review fast food restaurants, but this burger king location is the exception. My food came out in less than five minutes (during a lunch rush) exactly as I ordered it. Not only that, it seemed like the burger came right off the grill and the vegetables were as fresh as I've ever tasted them at a BK. Last but not least, the employees were all friendly and attentive.

It is hard to find a fast food meal this high quality and for under $14 in 2026. Whenever I am in the mood for fast food from now on I will keep this location in mind!”

There are a ton of flavors to choose from, the gelato is rich and smooth, and the staff is usually happy to let you try a few before deciding. It can get busy, but the line moves well and it’s definitely worth stopping in while you’re walking around downtown Portland.”

“My husband and I had lunch here before an appointment nearby. This restaurant had delicious food. My husband ordered the Down east Ruben, which was made with deep fried haddock with Cole slaw piled high on the bun with melted cheese. He said it was delicious! I opted for the classic BLT. Again, the sandwich was delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and ample bacon was piled on top. I watched a young man bus the tables. He was extremely thorough cleaning the tables and seating. He even washed the items on the table (salt & pepper shakers, ketchup and hot sauce bottles). This young man then set the tables for new customers. Being a bit of a clean freak, I appreciated this young man's work. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.”

“I travel to Portland a few times a month and we always stay at the Westin. Mainly because they have a fantastic indoor rooftop bar. Rasheed is their bartender and he is absolutely PHENOMENAL! He’s also from Boston and greets us with a kind, friendly atmosphere always. Even when other wait staff is struggling to keep up with the demand, he goes above and beyond for customers here. He’s always running around but still carves out time to chat with us to make us feel important. Props to Rasheed and host Adam for being so great! We are so grateful for your hospitality.”

“We stumbled upon this gem in Portland Maine.
Place is beautiful inside. With the rooftop patio also a highlight.
Most importantly is the food. Limited menu for brunch but enough to fill our bellies with excellent quality food.
We got the Canoas with lentils, Yucca puffs, Empanadas, Plantain tostones with a delicious pico de gallo on top.
So yummy. Service was top notch. We will be back.

“I am the kind of person who scoffed at vanilla ice cream. I thought it was boring, plain, blah. So when I went to Zephyr Ice I had planned to ask if I could just get the shaved ice— no ice cream. I am so glad I didn’t do that. This is the best ice cream I have ever tasted, and the shaved ice of course was flawless. I can’t go often because of the distance, but whenever I do find myself near Portland, I dream of this place.”

“Let me first start by saying that I'm one of the very proud owners of Three of Strong Spirits, also located on Diamond St in Portland, Maine. I meandered down to this company and, upon introducing myself, the owner gifted me with a bag of Margaret P. Driver, a coffee which she has created in our rum barrels! So, what happens when you take the best rum made in Maine, or the world for that matter, and infuse it into quality coffee beans?????????????? You get an explosion of taste that will literally leave you speechless!! Here I thought our rum was incredible and mind-blowing all by itself, but this lovely lady who owns this company has taken it to the next level! The coffee is smooth and boozy. I am addicted!!!!!!!! I find myself at my home coffee bar simply inhaling the aromas from the bag! There are only two of us in this big house who drink coffee. Well, when I brew Margaret P. Driver, the 12-cup pot vanishes within seconds, with my housemate and me fighting for the very last drop! If the combination of our rum and their coffee isn't deadly enough for you, then try their frosted brownies!! OMG!! I nearly passed out eating them!! They are incredible!! The brownies also pair beautifully with the coffee!! Wow, wow, and wow!! I will be stopping in for more of the coffee infused with our rum on a regular basis!! Furthermore, I recommend that tourists stay on Diamond St for an entire day, not just for a few moments!! We have our bar, Three Of Strong Spirits, then there's Bite Into Maine, and the icing on the cake, Coffee By Design! Diamond St is the happening place to be!!”

“Rarely do I leave a review, but this place is outstanding and definitely deserves the hype! So good we returned for a second time over the course of our long weekend stay. First of all, the vibes inside this cute little café are immaculate. All the staff were warm, inviting (both times we went) and very attentive to provide a great dining experience. But let’s get to the best part, which is truly the food (the Como se dice Bon Giorno sandwich to be specific). The English muffins are made in house, and you can tell the difference! They take their delicious baked staples and curate them for the holiday/season. Is it a little pricier? Sure but nothing unexpected for dining in the Portland area, and the quality most certainly justifies the price. I highly recommend and definitely plan to return on following trips, as this is our new staple for breakfast in the Portland area!”

“My Wife and I were told to try Maria's if in Portland by a friend. I must say, I could not be more impressed! We ordered the broiled seafood dinner. It was Christmas Eve 1960 at Gram's home! The amazing food was delicious and portions exceeded my expectations. Lobster, shrimp, cod and haddock filets and scallops! Everything cooked to perfection, in olive oil, thinly sliced garlic and butter, lite, not too heavy! I have not had such authentic Italian food since I lost Gram, 30 years ago. Be hungry as a sizable dish of linguini come with the mounds of excellent fish, lobster, scallops and shrimp! Excellent, true Italian entrées, and reasonable pricing! joined by wonderful service and an atmosphere that could be Naples, Venice or Rome! “Best food I ate in Portland all week (including upscale places) was the lobster bisque from Chef Ryan. Oysters were GREAT as well. Family friendly. Chef Ryan’s whole menu was top notch and the kitchen staff was so nice. Ty came up and offered to give my young kids a lobster lesson over FaceTime (was here for work). Lizzy was excellent at the bar for our group. Ashley was amazing and welcoming to our group. Couldn’t recommend more. But def order the menu items and not just the lobster!”

“My friend and I drove a little over an hour to see if the 5 stars was really as amazing as it seemed, it was 5 stars and more, my friend basically chugged hers and finished when I got mine, so we ended up buying two more with the red bean buns, which were so amazing and worth every moment driving. My friend got the bubble milk tea with tapioca twice and I got the strawberry and the taro milk teas both with boba and they were amazing, I'll definitely be dragging all my friends here!!!”

“Very nice layout that’s small but big enough for those staying in the area. Not super busy in evening or morning. Vintage yet updated modern clean feel throughout. Nice cafe next door support great breakfast and coffee and utilizes this space in the Longfellow lobby for seating. Great vibes, low to moderate noise that you can still hear a normal conversation.”
