“Impossibly wonderful food and vibe! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Another amazing meal!! We had the kimchi seaweed salad, bluefin tuna crudo, Spanish mackerel, Maine peekytoe crab, fried cauliflower and suckling pig. Everything was so good and it was hard to pick a favorite. I'd have to go with the fried cauliflower. It had such a wonderful spicy and sweet sauce and was cleverly complimented by crunchy fried chickpeas, mint and julienned apple. When you got a bite of everything, the dish practically sang to you. Angie's favorite was the suckling pig. This dish consisted of pork confit which had then been layered into a mold and then topped with crispy pork skin. Then delicately fried again on the flat top grill. It was served with a brown butter apple puree and marcona almonds. It had all the amazing flavors you expect from a great pork roast. No dessert for either of us.”

“Just finished one of the BEST Italian meals ive ever had in my restaurant going life in a place id never have expected to and thats saying something being a 1st Generation Italian coming from NY ! ViA VECCHiA is Portland, Maine was absolutely 10/10 on everything they did! We started with Meatballs, Whipped Ricotta & Grilled Octopus. The meatballs reminded me of my mothers, the ricotta was tremendous with truffle honey & sesame breadsticks and the octopus was grilled perfectly. One dish was better than the next. We shared ravioli with as an entree and we never felt gross like we ate too much. The portion sizes were PERFECT. Wrapped the night off with a espresso infused cheesecake over salted caramel. Wow. Staff was incredibly accommodating, professional and polite. Service was excellent! If youre ever in Portland, ME you must go get a meal here!”

“Last month our flight to Portland was delayed a considerable amount of time due to weather issues and it looked as though we would not be able to make our 5p.m. reservation. My daughter called from the tarmac in Boston where we were rerouted and refueled and explained the situation. The hostess, Susie, was very understanding and compassionate And said that even though our table was booked for another party a 7, we should come in and she would see what she could do. We got there late but Susie greeted us warmly and told us not to worry about being rushed that she had arranged things so no one would be inconvenienced. The atmosphere was warm and cozy; the food so very delicious and our waitperson, Anika, was the best. Atmosphere, impeccable service, food and warmth all rate 5 stars and another visit next time we are in Portland.”

“Absolutely exceptional experience for any foodie out there. Started off with the cherry sour cocktail which was spectacularly balanced - dry, sour, with the right amount of zing. The tuna crudo and scallop were truly stand out from the raw bar, the cabbage salad was flavorful with not too much dressing. For mains, the halibut and the smash burger were absolutely to die for. The halibut and a Marsala wine sauce and was perfectly crisped. The burger is cheese and delectable with triple fried fries, but also portioned such that it wasn’t overwhelming. This is NYC level food delivered in an incredible Portland vibe - everyone is friendly, welcoming, the restaurant itself is romantic and intimate. Would choose this dinner 1,000 times over.”

The guac was very good as were the tacos and the birra brisket grilled cheese. The salsas are not the common salsa you get other places - they seemed pretty unique to me. The pancakes were good (corn which was a nice change) and the drinks were great too. Service was quick and super nice. We’d absolutely go back again.”

“Absolutely worth the wait in line if you are into bread and pastry. We got a marinated olive loaf, croissant, and frangipane tart (which had delicious in-season plums on top). We’re going to go again before our long weekend in Portland is over.”

“Loved the concept. Modern dive bar. Good quality cocktails without the usual stuffiness, and most were only around $13-$14. I usually avoid bars around the Old Port area, but this one seemed different. On a Saturday night, the crowd looked like locals who knew exactly what they were getting.

We walked in at 8 PM to a completely packed house. Handful of booths, bar stools, and some standing tables in the back. We got insanely lucky and swooped into some bar seats the second a group closed out.

The ladies next to us mentioned that Esquire magazine named their Espresso Martini one of the best in the country. Had to try it. They used local Allen’s Coffee Brandy, which gave it a heavier, sweeter, and much more robust punch than a standard vodka-Kahlua build. But it was still the best out of all the martinis we ordered.

The food menu was mostly just dive bar snacks. Cheese balls and hot dogs. They intentionally don’t put much effort into it, and everything was really cheap.

Definitely recommend checking this place out. Just be prepared to elbow into a standing table if you roll in during the weekend rush.”

“My husband and I had lunch here before an appointment nearby. This restaurant had delicious food. My husband ordered the Down east Ruben, which was made with deep fried haddock with Cole slaw piled high on the bun with melted cheese. He said it was delicious! I opted for the classic BLT. Again, the sandwich was delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and ample bacon was piled on top. I watched a young man bus the tables. He was extremely thorough cleaning the tables and seating. He even washed the items on the table (salt & pepper shakers, ketchup and hot sauce bottles). This young man then set the tables for new customers. Being a bit of a clean freak, I appreciated this young man's work. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.”

The kapow dish is so comforting. They use holy basil which is really hard to find in the states it gives you a lil tangy note compared to Thai basil. Wok Hei is a bomb! It is really warm welcome from the owner, Kook kik. I recommend you try every dish on the menu. You will feel how sincere they are with their food. You can even asked for extra fresh chili if you are down for it. They are take out only with 2-3 outdoor table in the front for summer.”

“Let me first start by saying that I'm one of the very proud owners of Three of Strong Spirits, also located on Diamond St in Portland, Maine. I meandered down to this company and, upon introducing myself, the owner gifted me with a bag of Margaret P. Driver, a coffee which she has created in our rum barrels! So, what happens when you take the best rum made in Maine, or the world for that matter, and infuse it into quality coffee beans?????????????? You get an explosion of taste that will literally leave you speechless!! Here I thought our rum was incredible and mind-blowing all by itself, but this lovely lady who owns this company has taken it to the next level! The coffee is smooth and boozy. I am addicted!!!!!!!! I find myself at my home coffee bar simply inhaling the aromas from the bag! There are only two of us in this big house who drink coffee. Well, when I brew Margaret P. Driver, the 12-cup pot vanishes within seconds, with my housemate and me fighting for the very last drop! If the combination of our rum and their coffee isn't deadly enough for you, then try their frosted brownies!! OMG!! I nearly passed out eating them!! They are incredible!! The brownies also pair beautifully with the coffee!! Wow, wow, and wow!! I will be stopping in for more of the coffee infused with our rum on a regular basis!! Furthermore, I recommend that tourists stay on Diamond St for an entire day, not just for a few moments!! We have our bar, Three Of Strong Spirits, then there's Bite Into Maine, and the icing on the cake, Coffee By Design! Diamond St is the happening place to be!!”

The amazing food was delicious and portions exceeded my expectations. Lobster, shrimp, cod and haddock filets and scallops! Everything cooked to perfection, in olive oil, thinly sliced garlic and butter, lite, not too heavy! I have not had such authentic Italian food since I lost Gram, 30 years ago. Be hungry as a sizable dish of linguini come with the mounds of excellent fish, lobster, scallops and shrimp! Excellent, true Italian entrées, and reasonable pricing! joined by wonderful service and an atmosphere that could be Naples, Venice or Rome! I cannot thank everyone at Maria's for an amazing experience in truly fine dining!”

Nice cafe next door support great breakfast and coffee and utilizes this space in the Longfellow lobby for seating. Great vibes, low to moderate noise that you can still hear a normal conversation.”
