“I expected great coffee and got it, but the biscuits and scones were delicious- even better than my own homemade.”

“Yes, yes and YES! From the corn bread, the spicy beef salad, whitefish beignet (special), kimchi and suckling pig, up to the key lime tart, everything was spot on. The small plates were staged well, (thank you Lauren B) and paired wonderfully so flavors didn’t compete. Cocktails were “Death Becomes Her” and “Unleash the Lion”, unique, well balanced and interesting. Thank you for warming us up on a cold Monday night. Apologies, but too busy enjoying the food and company to retrieve my phone for pics. Unplugged dinners are much better.”

I honestly wasn’t expecting much out of this place, but my expectations were surpassed. the vibe was really nice with all of the mood lighting, the staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious (& i’m not even huge on seafood). we got the carne asada fries, chipotle chicken, and fish tacos - all of which were so good. only gripe is that I reserved a “lounge” table and was seated at a tiny high top. other than that it was a great experience”

I have been obsessed with clams & linguine for decades and have had it a ridiculous number of times, all over the world, including at least 20 times in Italy. And Street & Co makes it the absolute best, by far. It goes beyond my ability to articulate its amazingness but I will say it's for garlic LOVERS. Service at Street & Co is also extraordinary. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is it's open today (during the ICE shutdown) and not donating money to causes supporting immigrants! You basically get to choose one or the other to not be an awful company.. and yet here we are. So disappointed :(”

“Just finished one of the BEST Italian meals ive ever had in my restaurant going life in a place id never have expected to and thats saying something being a 1st Generation Italian coming from NY ! ViA VECCHiA is Portland, Maine was absolutely 10/10 on everything they did! We started with Meatballs, Whipped Ricotta & Grilled Octopus. The meatballs reminded me of my mothers, the ricotta was tremendous with truffle honey & sesame breadsticks and the octopus was grilled perfectly. One dish was better than the next. We shared ravioli with as an entree and we never felt gross like we ate too much. The portion sizes were PERFECT. Wrapped the night off with a espresso infused cheesecake over salted caramel. Wow. Staff was incredibly accommodating, professional and polite. Service was excellent! If youre ever in Portland, ME you must go get a meal here!”

“Got super lucky and was able to get a table on walk-in! (Was 7:30pm on a Saturday). Most delicious food ever. All fresh! Farm to table! so cool you can see the chefs making it right from practically the farm and delivered right to your table! Sourdough bread was a delicious and delightful complementary course- baked right downstairs! I got the spinach & feta pie (10/10) and my mom got the braised chicken (10/10). Such good quality food. To top off the night we got a crème brûlée and scoop of malted cider ice cream. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!”

Drinks are inventive and the renovated space has a nice vibe. Only recommendation would be to have more vegetarian options on the food menu as it is updated.”

Interesting flavors did not love. Quality preparation. Very few drink options if you aren’t drinking alcohol. Their menu rotates so maybe it’s better on a different menu.”

“Last month our flight to Portland was delayed a considerable amount of time due to weather issues and it looked as though we would not be able to make our 5p.m. reservation. My daughter called from the tarmac in Boston where we were rerouted and refueled and explained the situation. The hostess, Susie, was very understanding and compassionate And said that even though our table was booked for another party a 7, we should come in and she would see what she could do. We got there late but Susie greeted us warmly and told us not to worry about being rushed that she had arranged things so no one would be inconvenienced. The atmosphere was warm and cozy; the food so very delicious and our waitperson, Anika, was the best. Atmosphere, impeccable service, food and warmth all rate 5 stars and another visit next time we are in Portland.”

“One of the best brunch spots in Portland Maine. And they do dinner!
From the gorgeous velvet booth seating, to the crispy potatoes and churros, the service, food and ambiance is outstanding. Our lovely server Coco and the FOH manager Leah create such a warm and welcoming experience.
Highlights are the horchata (get it half & half with cold brew for caffeine.) The churros are outstanding, potatoes are a must and you can’t go wrong with any of the main dishes.
Enjoy and don’t forget…tip your servers and bartenders 😘”

“Went for Oyster Social/Happy Hour they do on Wednesdays after a local recommended I try…had a little bit of everything and some punch. I’m not easy to impress. It was DIVINE!!! “The duck isn’t the only thing that’s going to be fat after you dine here! The food was amazing. The biggest highlight was the duck fat poutine, and it’s totally worth adding the fried egg and the duck confit on top! The duck fat milkshakes were thick, creamy and so delicious. The ONLY reason I didn’t give the atmosphere 5 stars is because the inside has the stools fixed to the floor and you can’t move them, which makes it very hard for a larger individual to sit anywhere comfortably. Fortunately, we were able to move outside and sit where the chairs could be moved, and it was perfect!”

“Every item we tried at Standard Baking Co. was really good—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can see why it’s so popular. However, parking was limited, there wasn’t much room inside to stand and order, there’s no dine-in seating, no restrooms, and on busy days you may end up standing outside in the biting cold while waiting. Even so, the quality of the baked goods makes it worth the stop if you’re prepared for a grab-and-go experience.”

“My husband and I had lunch here before an appointment nearby. This restaurant had delicious food. My husband ordered the Down east Ruben, which was made with deep fried haddock with Cole slaw piled high on the bun with melted cheese. He said it was delicious! I opted for the classic BLT. Again, the sandwich was delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and ample bacon was piled on top. I watched a young man bus the tables. He was extremely thorough cleaning the tables and seating. He even washed the items on the table (salt & pepper shakers, ketchup and hot sauce bottles). This young man then set the tables for new customers. Being a bit of a clean freak, I appreciated this young man's work. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.”

“I ordered a carrot cake from Norimoto Bakery for my birthday, and it was absolutely incredible! The flavor was perfectly balanced, just the right amount of sweetness and it was moist and light. The frosting was also so light and delicious, it complemented the cake beautifully instead of overpowering it. You can really taste the care and exceptional baking skill in every bite. Thank you, Norimoto, for making my birthday extra special! Also just look at how beautifully the cake was decorated with flowers. Highly recommend to anyone who loves truly amazing baked goods.”

My sister got a lovely bowl of French onion soup to start and the steak frites as a main course. There was a big sliced steak done to perfection! We will return regularly! *****”

Let me tell you, WE WERE! I had the spiked salt yard latte and it was absolutely delicious, the best espresso martini I’ve ever had. The espresso was freshly and ground and you could tell! We also split an order of fries that were super fresh, and we were obsessed with the garlic dipping sauce. I look forward to visiting again next time I’m hanging out in Portland!”

“Let me first start by saying that I'm one of the very proud owners of Three of Strong Spirits, also located on Diamond St in Portland, Maine. I meandered down to this company and, upon introducing myself, the owner gifted me with a bag of Margaret P. Driver, a coffee which she has created in our rum barrels! So, what happens when you take the best rum made in Maine, or the world for that matter, and infuse it into quality coffee beans?????????????? You get an explosion of taste that will literally leave you speechless!! Here I thought our rum was incredible and mind-blowing all by itself, but this lovely lady who owns this company has taken it to the next level! The coffee is smooth and boozy. I am addicted!!!!!!!! I find myself at my home coffee bar simply inhaling the aromas from the bag! There are only two of us in this big house who drink coffee. Well, when I brew Margaret P. Driver, the 12-cup pot vanishes within seconds, with my housemate and me fighting for the very last drop! If the combination of our rum and their coffee isn't deadly enough for you, then try their frosted brownies!! OMG!! I nearly passed out eating them!! They are incredible!! The brownies also pair beautifully with the coffee!! Wow, wow, and wow!! I will be stopping in for more of the coffee infused with our rum on a regular basis!! Furthermore, I recommend that tourists stay on Diamond St for an entire day, not just for a few moments!! We have our bar, Three Of Strong Spirits, then there's Bite Into Maine, and the icing on the cake, Coffee By Design! Diamond St is the happening place to be!!”

“One of my favorite croissants that I have eaten. Really delicious flavour and flaky exterior. The inside was chewy and things were good. The almond croissant was also amazing and different from others I have had. It was like a snail with almond paste. I enjoyed that it wasn't super sweet and heavy like the twice-baked almond croissants soaked in simple syrup that i am used to. The rustic loaf that I have been slowly working through is also amazing. When I am in Portland again I will certainly be returning to try other breads and pastry. The server was very helpful and friendly which made the whole experience pleasant. The smell of fresh bread and pastry inside the bakery is intoxicating.”

The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the pastries are drool-worthy 🤤 We live around the corner from here so picking up and taking away is convenient and easy. The hardest part is narrowing down which pastries to take home! Let’s just say for my husband and I we always end up selecting 4-5 because they rotate flavors and we never want to miss out. (We love when family or friends are visiting so we don’t feel guilty getting more parties to try 😄) The almond croissant here is the best in town, but their rotating bostock and danish have become my favorites.”

“This is my absolute favorite place in town. The atmosphere is so pleasant whether on a quiet winter night or a bustling Friday evening. Drinks are incredible, and though pricey, not any more expensive than other spots in town (which is impressive for a hotel bar). The main reason we come here is the staff. They are so friendly and come up with the most amazing cocktails. Sheila, Mena, John, and Sammy can do no wrong!”

“Had a great time getting dinner there, ended up splitting a burger and some wings with a friend and both were lovely. Our server was super friendly and on top of us despite it being packed. My only minor quibble is the din of the place made it hard to keep a conversation going, but these days that seems common in restaurants.”
