“This bakery is reminiscent of the Chinese bakeries I grew up with in NYC. The buns are huge and so so soft. The baked pork bun was filled generously and I’m enjoying it as I write this up. The shop lady is super sweet, asks if you’d like your bun for here or to go, and tells you how long to heat it up for so it’s nice and warm.

There is a nice variety of treats in there, so I highly suggest checking it out 🤩”

“Vegan American Chinese cuisine in a strip mall. They make all the typical favorites using seitan to replace the meats and seafoods. They also have many vegetable and tofu based dishes.

The place is unimpressive looking, but the food was delicious. They also had a steady stream of customers both eating in the place and picking up food to take out. The service was good and the server was pleasant.

I had the corn and tofu soup and also the basil eggplant and tofu. The basil eggplant in particular was delicious and it came with plenty of tofu. The brown sauce was really tasty.

I would absolutely recommend this place and go again. Not fine dining but a good place to pick up a tasty meal, especially if you’re vegan or vegetarian! Recommended.”

“So good, high-quality, and fresh. I ordered two steak burritos with everything. The salsas are insanely delicious and spicy. The steak has an almost Argentinian asado fire-pit-style flavor. “Our family went to the downtown MV Pokéworks on Friday afternoon to do take out and were delighted to find this location on Castro Street nicely blocked off, shaded, with ample clean and widely spaced seating if you want to dine-outside. Really highly recommend this location of Pokeworks - you can order&pay online and the manager of this location is meticulous about safety and YUMMY food. They even have the Disneyland DoleWhip for dessert 🤤.”

“We went to the San Jose location a few years ago, so we were really happy to see them expand to the Mountain View area! The place was packed on a Wednesday night, but everything was still well organized and the food came out surprisingly quickly.

Overall, we had a great experience. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, but the rice pilaf with lamb shank, stewed mutton soup, and Amina yogurt with almond were the highlights for me. The portions were great and very satisfying.

Service was amazing as well. We’ll absolutely be back for more!”

“I love this place so much, I cone very often, especially when I work full shifts because my job is very close to the point I just walk to it.
Every time, no matter the circumstances food is great and so is the service.
On Tuesday I called for a pickup order at 3:05 and without any hesitation they filled it and had it ready so fast, food was warm and just delicious. They close at 3:30 so they could have easily told me no, or just could have been not the happiest, but the complete opposite! They are always happy, very friendly as well. I love this truck so much, and you guys are very genuine, humble people. Thank you for always making a great meal, and keeping a smile on your face! You guys are the best! Have a good day :)

This was apparently the former Officers Club building and sits across from the looming Hangar One.
Both the patty melt and Philly cheesesteak were tasty.
Don’t miss the Moffet Field Museum across the street.”

I thought the pork filling for the boiled dumplings was a bit musky, and I found a piece of gristle in one dumpling. The steamed pork soup dumplings could have used more soup but were otherwise fine. We also ordered a side of cucumber salad, which was decent overall but a bit salty and garlicky. The service was brisk and professional. They brought us rice for no extra charge – a nice touch. We thought the atmosphere was pleasant overall, with warm lights and plants.”

The only drawback was that they have exactly 3 or 4 chairs at the bar looking out the window for dine-in. The staff was super accommodating. We ordered pizza not on the menu, and they responded, sure, no problem. The half BBQ chicken - half margherita large pizza was too much for 3 people. We had 2-3 slides left over. The jalapenos cheese sticks were a mini pizza with cheese and jalapenos: super spicy 🔥🥵 We concluded that 1 large pizza without the bread sticks would be perfect amount for 3 people.”

It's been hard for us to find many restaurants that we love since moving here a couple years ago. But theres something athentic about this spot, from the family running the place to the little plastic spoon in the hot sauce.

We get the large #1 pho and share for two people. Summer rolls are yummy. And we haven't really seen fit to order much else. Pull into the tight little parking lot, walk in and get steered to a booth, where the owner will take your order. And next thing you know you're quickly served a piping hot bowl of delicious pho. Add the sides of your choice (no sprouts, a bunch of basil, and a dollop of that hot sauce does me right).

When you're done, walk up to the register and settle up. It's a no frills, but perfectly tailored experience.”

The pistachio that they use in the pistachio latte is amazing but the flavor of the coffee itself can vary from week to week. The shareable pots of coffee are always delicious. “Il Fornaio as a chain is a favoured venue for casual family dinners and for special occasions. The Mountain View location especially is a frequent haunt for us since we live in the same neighbourhood. The restaurant is always busy and yet service is always prompt. We've come to know servers like Sanjeev and managers like Maninder personally and always feel very welcome. While we wish there were more veggie pasta options, their soups, salads, pizza and appetisers have become familiar and comfort food for us over the years. I have been dining at the Il Fornaio chain of restaurants for over a decade and I've always had a great experience.”

“Cleanly renovated by the new owner, the place now has very nice ambiance! Service was reasonable. Perhaps it would have been better if our arrival was not so close to their closing time.

The food was okay. Sashimi seemed well agrd and tasty. Pieces were good size also. The other stuff needs some improvement. The combo tempura were quite greasy. I wonder if the temperature of the frying grease was not high enough to result in crispy, non-greasy coating.

Reasonable value for lunch. Dinner price would diminish the value if the food is about the same.”

their online menu is not up to date. I was really looking forward to some tofu dishes but those don't exist at all at the restaurant. Seconds, some of the menu items are marked vegan, such as the veg biryani. Thankfully I asked the server and he said it's not vegan. He offered me instead some fried rice that was flavorless... not sure I'll go again which is sad because we live very close by.”

I’m visiting from Alabama and was in town for work, and my only regret is that I didn’t discover this coffee shop on my first day here so I could have gone every day. I’m actually so sad I’m leaving town tomorrow before they open because I would 100% get another one before I leave!

“This is a mobile coffee truck that you can usually find parked in the same lot as Midwife and the Baker in Mountain View on select days of the week. I was lucky enough to catch them while visiting the bakery.

It’s a cute little setup, and I decided to try an iced mocha. The coffee was decent — good enough, though nothing particularly extraordinary or standout. They do offer a variety of drink options, along with some in-house syrups you can customize your drink with, which is a nice touch.

Overall, it’s worth checking out if you’re already in the area and looking for a quick coffee stop.”
