“I was not a big fan of Momo's but this place converted me! Now I dream of having their tandoori and other Momo's. It's a pinch on your wallet though but I still need to eat it regularly!”
“Steins is a great restaurant with a wide beer selection! They also sponsor the annual MV Oktoberfest!”

“This hotpot is pretty good! We have lunch special for 2 people and it’s less than $60 in total, but we have a lot as the pic below, 2 meets, 3 veggies, 1 entree, 1 plum pitcher and 1 free passion fruit pitcher. Also, the food is really fresh, and we just choose mild mild spicy which is just right. Previously, it’s very spicy even if we choose the least spicy level.
Happy to eat here for lunch ;)”
“The food was incredible. I wanted to order almost everything on the menu. So will have to come back at least couple more times to try everything to look good and we couldn’t order in one night. Our old fashion cocktail and blackberry Mojito were perfect. And I can’t say enough about considerate, professional service.”

“This sushi experience is worth every penny, especially for those who appreciate the highest quality fish. Sitting at the bar, you’re able to watch the chef carefully select and prepare each piece, showcasing the exceptional freshness of the ingredients. The fish is melt-in-your-mouth tender, with each bite bursting with natural flavors that highlight its top-tier quality. Whether it’s the buttery richness of the toro, the clean, sweet taste of the uni, or the delicate, perfectly cut slices of white fish, every piece feels like a celebration of freshness.
The chef’s expertise shines through not only in the preparation but in the way each piece is crafted to enhance the natural taste of the fish. The quality is on a whole other level, and it’s evident in every bite. While the meal is undoubtedly an investment, the unparalleled freshness and skillful presentation make it an unforgettable and worthwhile experience for any sushi enthusiast.”
“Wide variety of drink options. Drinks taste great! Place was busy Saturday night. Only con was one of the workers had trouble understanding me but they got another person to translate. Good service.
Drinks - pistachio jasmine delight, crème brûlée Thai tea, strawberry rose”
“This place is stuck in time. The boba price and food price is the same price boba used to cost years ago. The coconut smoothie is a good recommendation! The teas are also tasty and doesn’t taste nasty. 100% would highly recommend everyone here if they’re in the area.”
“Solid fried chicken, was very juicy and the fries and biscuit were amazing. I opted for the white meat and shrimp combo, I'd probably skip the shrimp next time (they were good but it was so much food), think the meal and a drink was 27 and change.
Will definitely be back, don't suggest eating inside though it's a bit small and very warm inside.”
“By the time I got my fries it was cold. I was craving some good, hot fries but by the time I got through the drive through it was luke warm and cold. I didn't enjoy it. Since I was on lunch I didn't have time to get off, park and ask for another one. Overall this location is on point. I rather have cold fries then hot and unhealthy fries some where else. I actually returned the following week and the fries was awesome. Fresh off the fryers. 😋”
“Welcoming atmosphere, very kind staff, and wonderful food!”
“Love their foods, so delicious and fancy will bring my family & friends there again!!”
“My favorite boba place anywhere! Anytime I'm visiting the Bay Area, I make a point to stop by to complete my trip. The ingredients are fresh, and it always tastes homemade. I'm a creme brulee fan and their creme brulee boba is almost worth the cross-country flight itself.”

“Was excited to try Tony Gemignani’s “Apricot Fields” slice (exclusive to Mountain View), and he did not disappoint. Chalk up another winner that went great with our Cal-Italia, and the Wise Guy. A little Hot Honey and extra fig preserve allowed us to add a custom touch as each desired. Can’t even complain about the wait for a closer Slice House, because I know Tony Respects the Craft too much to rush any location before they are up to the highest standards. Bravo!”

“Cute little BBQ place in Mountain View, close to the 101 freeway. The brisket was moist and flavorful, and the Mac and cheese and bread were both delicious. However, the tri-tip was over cooked and not seasoned well. The parking lot is small and undergoing some construction, so limited parking spots.”
“I went to this place for first time 2 days ago. The staff was very polite. I was a solo customer and they found me a spot where I could comfortably sit by myself. Big plus was a cushion on the bench that made it more comfortable to sit. Right away they brought me a miso soup to start off. I ordered 4 different rolls and they were all delicious. My favorite was the California Crunch Roll. The place appeared very clean and well maintained. I will definitely return to try more of their dishes!”

“First time visiting. Delighted to find a hand-pulled noodle soup place in DT MV.
Noodle portion is good. Would love the width of the flat noodles be half of its current size.
The on-the-house cabbage appetizer could serve w/o jalapeños as my mouth was burning even after I took them out & put the cabbage into my Chef’s Beef noodle soup.
Friendly staff. Glad to see fe/male restrooms.
Frozen dumplings made-to-go.
Will be back to taste other items!”
“We've been coming to Kirin since the 1990s when we first moved to the area and were introduced to the restaurant. The comfort food they have is familiar, like shrimp & eggs over rice, Congee, dim sum dishes, steamed fish.

“Fantastic local wine bar run by people who truly appreciate their craft. They will walk you through the menu to find what works best for you and find your new favorite libation. Antonio was our guide through California and Spanish wines and was fantastic. They are starting wine pairing dinners soon and I can't wait to come back. If you love wine, good people, and good vibes then you can't go wrong here.”
“We had the most amazing dinner at the restaurant. We were there all weekend. The staff is amazing. The food is out of this world. If you are in the area, you must stop there thank you. I’ve never eaten such an amazing pasta dish and I love Italian food and you guys nailed it and let’s not even start with the lamb chops. Omg. I need to come back again soon.”
“The atmosphere is amazing, the staff absolutely darling and polite as well as very professional! The food was out of the world! Steak was tender and very flavorful thank you!”
“Das Bierhauz is a hidden gem for beer enthusiasts! 🍺 I'll definitely be back when I need a good brew and a relaxed atmosphere.
🍽️ The
They offer a great selection of snack foods 🥨 and pastries 🍰, perfect for pairing with their extensive beer list. We especially enjoyed the pretzel with cheese and mustard. The pretzel itself was perfectly baked – warm, soft on the inside, and slightly crisp on the outside. The cheese dip was creamy and flavorful. I only wish they provided a bit more mustard, as it was delicious!
🧑💼 The
The staff was friendly and attentive. They were knowledgeable about the beer selection and happy to offer recommendations. A pleasant experience all around.

“I have had nothing but spectacular experiences at Rootstock, and especially the MV location! The staff is so knowledgeable and is so kind within their expertise. I have so many questions and so little knowledge but they always make me feel welcome with all my questions. The drinks are, of course, spectacular! I impress people at parties now with all I’ve learned through Rootstock. And the food is so tasty, I love the Empanadas especially! They have such a beautiful space and I’ve now been here at least twice when the dim the lights from day to evening and it’s always such a beautiful and subtle but welcome change. I have no restauranteer skills but the expertise at Rootstock is so inviting and inspiring to me, I dream of opening up a Rootstock location in Canada where I go to school!
This is one of the greatest wine bars in the bay: yes for their wine selection! But also? Truly foe their staff, the ambience at their wine bar, the member program, and all that I learn from their experts behind the bar *AND* all the food I enjoy and fun I have. I love this place and I’m too scared to have tattoos for real but I’d tat I love roortsfoxk on my body, that’s how enamored I am! And this is a review after 2+ years of being a patron here! I should’ve shared my love earlier but ADHD 😅
but now that I’m a few months into my wine club membership, I just really had to make clear my enjoyment of Rootstock. The ambience reminds me of Edward Espe Brown’s writings: the table is a place of giving and receiving sustenance. Here we are served and serve others. That’s what I feel at Rootstock and it is such a pleasure and privilege! They make me want to learn about flavor notes so I can truly wax poetic about their menu, ambience, and so much more.
The TL;DR is if you are of drinking age, and in Mountain View: you HAVE to go to Rootstock. you will be doing yourself a disservice if you miss them! my favorite restaurant, from the chefs to staff to sommeliers! Endless things to love and celebrate.
Vegetarian options: There are a number of veg options! 3/4 flatbreads have meat BUT they are so flexible with substitutions. I often ask for meat removed (when alone) or on the side when I’m with friends and they are always so kind and on top of this.”

“I ordered an eggless and sugar-substituted birthday cake for my mom and was trying this place for the first time. It was a very pleasant experience right from placing an order to pick up. I was able to customise the cake to be eggless, sugar-free and less creamy. The cake was very tasty, soft and just as desired!
Dietary restrictions: Eggless & sugar-free cake options available”

“A delightful find in Mountain View - local favorite boba place that has won Best of Mountain View awards several years in a row. Bobas are super soft and chewy! I would like my Hazelnut milk tea with stronger tea flavor and my husband’s Dark Plum smoothie to be slightly sweeter at 50% sweet. Not too many sweetness levels in some drinks - it’s either 100% or 50%, prices more reasonable than other boba places.”

“Luckily I stumbled across this taco spot instead of going to In-N-Out one day. Safe to say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! This taco spot is super clean, super fresh, super friendly, and all around perfect. I feel like if I close my eyes and you told me I was in Mexico again, I would believe you. The tacos are that good! Would give it 10 stars if I could.”
“My mom and I walked into this place today and at first we were a little surprised by the prices, but we decided to give this place a shot. This is a little bakery with few items but each item is made with the best ingredients. Sure you can find cheaper options at ranch 99 or 85° but they won't compare to this place. I can tell everything is made from scratch without preservatives. Not mass produced like the stuff you find at 85° and ranch 99 or any other chain chinese bakery.
Everything was so delicious. Even my mom who really dislikes spending $$ on such items was very happy we bought everything we did and would like to go back.
The items I got were the bride cake with winter melon, mango mochi, coffee sliced cake, almond cake, sesame balls, and the red bean puff with egg yolk. We haven't tried everything yet. But so far I'm really impressed by the sesame ball, mango mochi (filled with fresh mango and so soft!), and red bean puff with egg yolk. The sesame balls with red bean paste is way better than any that I have tried. I'm pretty sure she makes the red bean paste from scratch. The woman that works there is so kind and sweet. You can taste the love and care in their pastries. I am happy to support small businesses with quality food. 10/10 would recommend you do too!
Pleasantly surprised!”
“The vintage DragonBallZ sodas made my day!! The service was fast & the 15min wait for spring rolls was WORTH IT—everything was delicious and they made us smile the whole time. What a neighborhood treasure!
Vegetarian options: spring rolls, egg rolls, & a veg/vegan banh mi option!
Dietary restrictions: Great vegan & vegetarian options!
Kid-friendliness: Check out the anime-themed sodas for the kids!
Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible!”
“We stumbled upon Mamacita Food Truck on our way to Trader Joe’s and decided to stop for a quick lunch. It was decent overall, but the flavors didn’t quite hit the mark. We tried the burrito, four tacos, and the shrimp taco—the shrimp taco was nice but still lacked a bit of flavor. That said, it’s a decent option for the price if you’re looking for a quick, affordable bite.”
“This was my favorite pho place for a few years! I brought my family and friends visiting the bay area too. Recently, however, the quality of the food dropped pretty noticeably, especially with the amount of ingredients (eg meat) in the pho decreasing significantly for the same price/ increased price. I understand things are all getting more expensive, but the core ingredient to decrease so much for me to notice and impact the flavors is quite sad. I hope they can revisit to return to the amazing pho they used to serve!”
“I went in around 7 or 8pm. The service was super good. The food was really fresh and delicious. I got fries w/ a side of gravy & 3 pieces of Portuguese sausage. The service was fast and all of the workers were nice. It was the best I’ve ever had throughout all L&L’s I’ve been to. I will definitely be coming back. <3”
“Combination of hot pot and Korean BBQ at this all-you-eat restaurant in downtown Mountain View. There are also some dim sum items, but I would not recommend them. Meats were of decent quality, but some or the marinated beef was too sweet. Plenty of sauces and other herbs and spices to make your own dipping sauce. Service is super fast, but each portion is relatively small. Plenty of street parking and also several nearby parking lots.”
“Moderately expensive sandwich place with a Peet's coffee station in a different area of the cafe. Good varied selection to choose from. However note that they do not take cash! You pay using credit or debit card only. Also the paper receipt I got had faded ink so some places so be careful if u need it for business reimbursements. They give you an indicator which will light up when your order is ready and you have to come by to pick up your order. You can get free regular water from a fountain tap or buy the bottled water or other drinks. Sandwich I got was of moderate size and tasted fine. They have outdoor tables with overhead umbrellas to shade against the sun.”
“My all-time favorite place for Sushi and Sashimi. A great place to go with a crowd that is willing to share. Everything tastes so good.”
“Service is a 4-star because Dee our server literally interrupted us like 8 times throughout our 1.5 hour dinner. She also can’t seem to read vibes that she’s interrupting and over-explaining and we really just want her to go away and continue our conversation ?”

“I freaking love these tacos, the cabeza is on point and the service is great.
Parking: Not really a parking lot since it’s at a gas station. Either park at a pump (and get some gas so you’re not an a**hole) or there are a couple of makeshift spots by the taco truck.”
“Modern elegance combined with a cozy atmosphere, it is a great place to meet people or hashing out ideas! The cappuccino I ordered was expertly prepared, with a creamy foam and a rich, robust espresso base. What truly set it apart, however, was its temperature—served just right, it provided a satisfying warmth without being scalding.”
“Really delicious macarons! I normally don’t like cream and this was very smooth, soft, buttery but not sharply sweet or sickly. Recommend creme brûlée one! Macaron texture was chewy and nice maybe slightly stale because end of day but still would go back for more. Do not recommend latte- not well blended or tasty. Still a cute small business and worth it for macaron and want to try choux buns next time!”
“My favorite sandwich here: turkey club on a wheat roll with smoked Gouda cheese. Everything on it, add onions and pickles.
Awesome spot that deserves all the love it gets! Amazing donuts, wide variety of good coffee, and tons of breakfast options in addition to sandwiches.”

Ramen Izakaya Yu-Gen
152 Castro St
Mountain View, CA 94041
I went there for a solo lunch on a Monday around 12:30. There was ample parking in the city free parking structure behind the restaurant. The layout is long and narrow with a contemporary chair and table setup. There is some bar seating at the front, which I chose.
I ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry at the spicy level. My food was brought to me shortly and consisted of a gravy boat of curry sauce, a green salad topped with macaroni salad and corn, pickles, rice and the sliced breaded pork (tonkatsu). The curry sauce was not spicy but there was a condiment dish with cayenne pepper which I dumped in the sauce to take it to the level I wanted. The cutlet was thick and uniform in thickness with a golden brown crispy coating. It was moist and a little chewy but okay by me.
Flavors were good, service was fast and attentive. A good value and repeatable for the curry.
Parking: City parking structure behind the restaurant.”
“Food is great but expect subpar service and a wait if on the weekend. I've been here twice now and noticed the same staff members. They all speak minimal English and some even use hand signs and skip verbal communication entirely lol. First time experiencing that at a restaurant 😂
Come here for good tasting food with a ton of customization, but lower expectations around service.
Cost can add up to with $15/lb. Both times I racked up over 2 lbs of food, but at least you get to take home the leftovers.”
