The flounder & shrimp sushi were super fresh, the crispy rice with spicy tuna had the perfect crunch, and the Garlic Albacore was especially flavorful. The salmon blue crab with truffle was rich, buttery, and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy.
We also tried the OMG Roll and Albacore Blossom Roll, and both were absolutely amazing — really flavorful, well balanced, and beautifully made. Honestly, every dish we ordered was a hit. Friendly service, high quality fish, and a nice atmosphere. Definitely coming back!”

I even loved the fresh pita and dipping sauce that was complimentary. From the manager and many servers, everyone was pleasant and friendly throughout my time there. I went during happy hour so the specials were great during that time. I’m definitely returning to this Mediterranean restaurant for sure. I loved it.”

“I've been going to Pieloon for a few years now and it is THE BEST restaurant in Downey! The food is always fabulous, the portions are large, the service is perfect! I've had appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers, sandwiches (I'm addicted to the BLT) and many of their specials. My family and I go now 2x a week and have trouble deciding what to get because it's all so good! And the pies...their pumpkin pie is the best I've ever had and the blueberry cheesecake is fabulous...but just wait until fresh peach pie season...I'll gain weight just thinking about it...the fresh peach is the best pie I've ever, EVER had! I love this place and the people who work there!! They're like family now!”

The food is consistently amazing rich in flavor, homemade, and prepared with genuine care and tradition. Despite what may appear online, the restaurant is NOT permanently closed, they are OPEN and actively serving customers. Please don’t let that misinformation stop you from visiting. Every dish I’ve tried has been excellent, but the tamales are truly unforgettable, hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. This place is a true hidden gem that deserves recognition and continued support.”

Tl;dr: ice cream taste 5/5 service 5/5

While the ice cream was delicious we had a major service issue during our visit. We asked for 2 small cones different flavors but were given 2 cones with the 2 flavors mixed in the each cone. When we were given the first cone with tried to clarify that the flavors were supposed to be separate but the second cone came out the same as the first. Our next issue was that we asked for a large bowl but were given a small cone for the 3rd ice cream; we weren't given a receipt to see if we were charged for a large bowl or a small cone. Last issue was we ordered ice cream sandwiches to take home & instead of being told we could select what flavor we wanted we were given a random assortment of flavors. As a side note the ice cream sandwiches are smaller than you would think.”

“Sushi & Teriyaki Plus is a great place to dine, have delivery or take away. It is an adorable. It is not large. Parking is easy and free.

There really is nothing you will not like there. Personally, we consider the shrimp tempura to be the best. But they have a great menu and you will find something you want. We also love their seaweed salad and their fried rice. It is all just great.

Their tuna sushi and their California roll are perfect.

The service is ever so friendly and they are fast. You order at the counter and they will call you when it is ready.

The place is just cute, not too big and not too small. The prices are fair. If you are in Downey this is a must stop. Have the best time. You will love it.”

“The atmosphere was astonishing I was mesmerized as I tried to catch ever beautifully decorated chandelier and pieces of art Mosaic, especially the ginormous faux melting candle. Just as you catch from the side of your eyes it a cart wheeling private bar tender inquiring on if you would like a margarita! We ordered a $75.00 plate of filet mignon, shrimp, and scallops; I was disappointed for that price they give one shrimp a d two scallops? Steak was the bomb dot com though.”

I like the chicken kabob wrap and my wife typically gets the chicken bowl. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is consistently good. While the atmosphere is currently affected by nearby construction, it doesn’t take away from the quality of the food and service. Even with that, they still deserve top recognition.

“I was driving one day and saw Sakana Sushi & Izakaya and i just wanted to try this place. Finally i had the chance to visit this place and had a sit down to try their sushi. As i walked in i was greeted by young lady and was offered to sit where i pleased. I look through the menu and ordered Shrimp Tempura Roll, and Mexico City Roll. Both rolls were delicious and i really enjoyed every bite of it. Love how the rice shrimp and all the flavors just combined and was very tasteful. Also the miso soup was also good and their hot green tea naturally was just good. For sure will go back again i love their sushi and for sure will be coming back.”

“I have only been here once but it was so delicious. I can't go crazy with the sweets so I asked for easy lechera, no jam on my berry filled crepe. It was then topped with whipped cream. Perfectly balanced dessert. I look forward to returning.”

“Tried Shake Shack recently and overall it was a good experience, just a bit on the pricey side. Luckily, they had a BOGO deal that day, which made it more worth it but it was a combo of a burger and a chicken sandwich.

The burger was honestly the highlight—juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you’d expect. Definitely lived up to the hype. The chicken sandwich, though, wasn’t as impressive. It felt pretty average and didn’t stand out compared to the burger.

If anything, they really shine with their burgers, so I’d probably stick to that next time. Still a solid spot, just be ready to spend a little more.”
