“Miss the old Portos. They had way more options including my Coconut macarons which they no longer have. Also with how busy it gets it's so crowded and overwhelming inside. Everything was still good but miss the extended baked goods. And parking is still bad... Waiting for my coffee they kept having us move when it's so crowded with customers and noehere to move to was a joke.”

“My first time there wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Upon going in they had a nice little crowd, the staff was nice and helpful. So my box of 4 cookies $19 was brownie batter, not bad, could use some nuts walnuts, or pecans, . My favorite cookie chocolate chip also could use some nuts walnuts or pecans and cooked a little longer. Next was funnel cake. Kind of like that one crunchy, not sure if it really tasted like funnel cake, but I liked it. Then cake batter thins not too bad either.”

“I've been going to Pieloon for a few years now and it is THE BEST restaurant in Downey! The food is always fabulous, the portions are large, the service is perfect! I've had appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers, sandwiches (I'm addicted to the BLT) and many of their specials. My family and I go now 2x a week and have trouble deciding what to get because it's all so good! And the pies...their pumpkin pie is the best I've ever had and the blueberry cheesecake is fabulous...but just wait until fresh peach pie season...I'll gain weight just thinking about it...the fresh peach is the best pie I've ever, EVER had! I love this place and the people who work there!! They're like family now!”

The food is consistently amazing rich in flavor, homemade, and prepared with genuine care and tradition. Despite what may appear online, the restaurant is NOT permanently closed, they are OPEN and actively serving customers. Please don’t let that misinformation stop you from visiting. Every dish I’ve tried has been excellent, but the tamales are truly unforgettable, hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. This place is a true hidden gem that deserves recognition and continued support.”

I even loved the fresh pita and dipping sauce that was complimentary. From the manager and many servers, everyone was pleasant and friendly throughout my time there. I went during happy hour so the specials were great during that time. I’m definitely returning to this Mediterranean restaurant for sure. I loved it.”

“I ordered my burger combo over the phone, and the woman who took my order was incredibly friendly and welcoming. When I arrived, my order was ready to go, which made the experience even better.

The Thousand Island dressing is delicious, the fries were fresh and crispy—not reheated—and the burger was absolutely amazing. For a small burger spot, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of great vibes.

I also ordered the chili cheese fries and am excited to try them. I usually order regular fries first to see how a restaurant does the basics, and they definitely exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to see how the chili cheese fries turn out!”

“I’ve reviewed restaurants all over the country, and Maria’s Bar & Grill is the kind of little spot I love finding. It’s tucked away in the back, almost like a hideaway, with plenty of parking once you find it.

The food is authentic and tastes just like Abuelas. The staff is awesome, and the prices are so good I had to look twice. They run specials too, including Dodger game deals like two bacon dogs and a beer, or wings and a beer.
They Definitely support our military and ask those who've served.

Before arriving, we tried calling the restaurant several times to get on the waiting list, but the phone would either ring continuously or disconnect automatically. We mentioned the issue when we arrived, and the staff confirmed they were having problems with their phone lines.

Just as you catch from the side of your eyes it a cart wheeling private bar tender inquiring on if you would like a margarita! We ordered a $75.00 plate of filet mignon, shrimp, and scallops; I was disappointed for that price they give one shrimp a d two scallops? Steak was the bomb dot com though.”

While the atmosphere is currently affected by nearby construction, it doesn’t take away from the quality of the food and service. Even with that, they still deserve top recognition.

I would gladly give Eva’s Tacos 5 stars any day of the week—a solid 10/10 experience overall. Highly recommend!”

“We made reservations for brunch and arrived a little early, and they were actually able to seat us about 20 minutes before our reservation, which we really appreciated--especially because it was such a hot day outside!

Overall, we had a really good experience. The food was good, and there were just a few things I would personally change. The chilaquiles had a little more sauce than I prefer, so next time I'd probably ask for them with less sauce. The French toast was also a bit soggy. I'm not sure if it was because it had been sitting for a little while, but next time I would probably be more specific about how I'd like it prepared and how much sauce or topping is added.

The coffee was also a little too sweet for my taste, so next time I'd ask for less syrup/sugar.

Other than those small things, the customer service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of throughout our visit. The restaurant itself is very clean, super cute, and aesthetically pleasing. The atmosphere was lively and had a really fun brunch vibe.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would definitely come back to try more from the menu!”

I’ve been to many McDonald around the county of Los Angeles and I can say the service here is second to none. I never had not one single issue with the way my order was taken or prepared. Today I decided to write a review because I was having such a terrible day and the kindness from Dillon the drive thru employee who took my order made me feel like my night was now just starting to turn around. I always go late at night and you would assume the employees are tired and don’t really care . But Dillon took his time with my order , I never felt rushed , I asked to make everything fresh and I asked questions about the World Cup, cups that they were giving away when you ordered a meal and not once did his tone change . He answered all my questions was able to grant all the requests I made in my order. The gentleman who gave me order was also very kind . The late night crew at this McDonalds can’t be compared to any other . Keep up the great work !!!! This isn’t the closest McDonald’s from my house but I chose to always go here because of the service !”

“Decided to try this place since I've heard so many good things! We got the pumpkin chai from their fall menu, salted caramel latte, apple danish and a cinnamon roll. My chai tasted like pure oat milk with a bit of spice but nothing like chai or pumpkin. The latte my mom got was super bitter but that might just be a preference thing? Not sure but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since my mom is not a die hard coffee lover but loves a good latte. The apple danish was really good! My cinnamon roll was a bit odd as it had cream cheese topping and not the traditional icing. The cinnamon roll it's self was super soft, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I don't think the the cream cheese topping makes sense at all with the roll and it's not sweet so it really does taste like whipped cream cheese...

Overall, I'd definitely venture again for their pastries and maybe try a different drink?”

The young lady (cashier) told me it was there and that she would save it for me and to go get it whenever I could. I drove back and she had it. She made my day, I tried to give her some money as a reward but she kindly refused and said no need. I would highly recommend this place, she could’ve kept the money, yet she decided to return it intact. I also have to say the food is amazing . 😻”

If you're looking for a good family meal place and you want some delicious chicken, give this place top priority. Before you ask, yes they give you just dark meat if you ask...I'm pretty sure it's a bit extra though. Anyways Toyitos is fuego. 9.5/10

“This place is truly a gem, the quality in these desserts is incredible. The only complaint my family has is the portion size. The cake should all be cut to fit the size of the container as this is standard at any bakery that sells tres leches. If not the whole container at least keep a consistent size, we have bought multiple times in the past 3 months and plenty for our family and neighbors to try the different flavors of cakes and desserts and this is the one thing that stood out.

Not to mention, the desserts are definitely overpriced in general/vs the local competition in Downey. Portos and Tropicana have a wider recognition in the city and a large clientele and their prices are lower across the menu. You can get a trio which is a huge slice of cheesecake/tres leches/flan for under $6 and here at Papa Churros a slice of either is $6. If people will support Papa Churros due to quality and taste at least give the customers their moneys worth.

As I stated the quality is great, they definitely have a good baker making some great products from scratch back there. I highly recommend but try to get a slice of something in person vs ordering online for pickup or delivery.”

“It is kind of expensive, its like 16 for 8 pieces, but you can taste the quality. Its better than chicken day or bbq chicken the meat is juicier and the skin is crispier. The fries are pretty good too and they give you ranch for free. I got the red disco its good not as sweet as other chains which I like.”

“I had a great time at this place that I saw on their IG @Cali.Sportsbar. A friend recommended it to me, saying the vibe was amazing. Unfortunately, it wasn't as lively when I visited at 2 pm on a Thursday, but that's understandable. The server was friendly and attentive, quickly bringing our drinks. As you can see from my pictures, the place has a wide selection of beers and alcohol. It's a great spot to hang out with friends, have a nice conversation, or watch sports. I plan to return, but I'll come later next time because I've heard it gets lively.”
