“Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.”

“I had an amazing experience at this restaurant ( I think my favorite restaurant ) yesterday . I had to change the time of my reservation while already at the restaurant due to late arrival of the others in my group. They graciously switched the reservation . Enrico was very helpful with a few other concerns I had about my group. The bartender was friendly and made an amazing drink while I waited for my company to arrive . Our waiter Marcello was wonderful and the food was melt in your mouth delicious ! They also have gluten free pasta and pizza dough in case someone in your group is gluten free. Can’t say enough about this restaurant that makes you feel like you are part of the family !”
“The crab cakes lacked seasoning. Same for the cream of crab soup. The French onion soup was too salty, while not unusual, it wasn't expected for this level of restaurant. Our wait staff was excellent. And the atmosphere is also excellent. It was our first time for dinner. We'd been numerous times for lunch and will limit ourselves to lunch in the future.”
“We used to frequent this restaurant often when we lived in Frederick. We returned for my 70th birthday dinner. As usual, Rich did an outstanding job, not only with our meals but also with meals designed for our vegan/vegetarian children. Trish, our server , was also excellent. “Where do I even begin? The pita? Perfect texture and taste. The cherry tomatoes? Obviously fresh, juicy, and sourced from a great farm. The romain? Plentiful and CRISP. The Dill and Taziki sauce? Also VERY fresh, has a citrus kick somewhere, and seems to be made fresh as well. Because it doesn't taste like a store bought sauce filled with preservatives. The hummus? That might actually be where the citrus is from. However, the hummus is not overly salty! You can actually taste the Chickpeas and they use good ingredients as well as olive oil for the hummus too! The chicken? Is in NO way shape or form dry and it's actually seasoned! It's juicy and normal is it overcooked. The olives? Brothers and sisters I HATE olives by themselves, rarely on certain foods. But these olives are not overpowering and stealing the flavor profile, it just adds more depth to the flavor bomb of the Greek chicken Pita! The feta? What could be bettah? Seriously though if you can see this picture you should've seen that they don't skip on the feta either. Again the flavor is ALL the way there but not overpowering. While the texture is almost creamy. Probably with assistance from the sauce but still, it's not overly dry! 10/10 Would recommend & I will be back! Now the facility was spotless, the cleanest "fast food" I've ever seen. The staff? Phenomenonal, personable, kind, attentive to details, and downright superstars that make that place run like clockwork! Wooooo wo weeeee wo!!! If you haven't been here then you've got to go!! Moderate prices, exceptional ingredients, lovely staff, and clean facilities(where the staff actually care like the NW Expressway location in OKC). I'm out, ty for listening to my Ted talk! 🫡”

“We went to Motherland restaurant today for the first time. Sabina prepares food that tastes great. Both vegan and meat and fish dishes are available. Herbs and spices and healthy oils create a potpourri of wonderful flavors and create a satisfying meal without the use of salt. Vegans now have a new choice for flavorful meals.”

“This is a new restaurant that is still working out the kinks. There was some confusion at the host/hostess stand about who was being seated where. Service was decent for a new place but still it was a little slow. The food was quite good. One of us had Chicken Marsala which was very good but it didn't have a traditional marsala sauce. Whatever it was, it was tasty. The other had Veal Parm. It was also quite good but the pasta sauce had an unusual flavor that was slightly off-putting We would be happy to return and try some other dishes but for one factor: Fox News on the TV in the bar. Watch it at home if you like but don't make me watch it.”

The menu offered a variety of entree choices, including pork chop, pasta primavera, chicken, and salmon. The server provided little explanation about the menu choices and preparation. When the entrees were delivered, however, confusion ensued when the servers presented the dishes to each diner incorrectly. The entrees were expertly prepared with flavorful sauces and seasonings; however, the table received little attention during the meal. Kind of weird they do not take any orders. People have to do it themselves. A lot of folks were getting frustrated in the lobby. Someone dropped their soda and literally had to yell back so someone could help him clean it up (even though there was a gentleman cleaning tables who looked at them and walked away). You can’t have a robot do everything.”

“This is by far one of the best bakeries I've been too everything was fresh and very tasty.I Drove all from Hagerstown in the rain to try this place and it was well worth it..You do have to get there early before they sell out..The customer service was the best I have seen for a small business I highly recommend going here and check out their rotating menu because they have monthly specials and seasonal treats..This is a Must Try!!!”

“After witnessing the horrific lines & long wait times at the white marsh location, I postponed my highly anticipated first visit to Crumbl & ended up ordered a lil 6-pack for myself later in the evening at the Frederick location.
I was the only customer there (presumably bc they were about to close) but my order was ready & waiting, & despite my intentions to share with my family, I somehow blacked out (?) & all six were gone by the time I drove the mile back to my house… oops!
They have such great flavors - I love that they have a core menu of classic offerings & a weekly rotation of unique & seasonal treats. This summer, I was so excited to see banana’s foster (or maybe banana cream pie - I was riding a severe sugar high that seems to have impaired my memory somewhat…) & a lil key lime tart. Omg. Everytb in is great - you really can’t go wrong.
Personally, bc I’m poor & they aren’t exactly cheap, I like to order the minis in a 3-pack (rarely) or 6-pack (99% of the time bc I can’t limit myself to 3 choices!) I think the minis are the way to go, whether you’re watching your calories &/or carbs, ordering for small children, prefer not to spend over $50 on any food order unless it includes filet mignon…. Or if you’re just indecisive like me & want one of everything.
So glad they opened a Crumbl in Frederick, but put it on the other side of town so my ADHD allows me to frequently forget it even exists unless I’m literally driving past it, bc otherwise my A1C (& wallet$ would be in trouble!)”

“Booking Sage Cakery to make our wedding cake was one of the highlights of the wedding. As someone that loves cakes, I was so looking forward to trying Sage on my wedding day and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of their cakes. My husband generally doesn’t like cake as much, but even he loved the ones they made for us. The blackberry sage was a huge hit, and the decoration on the cake could not have been more stunning. It was exactly what we asked for and more. They worked with us too to add a topper my mom made for us and it looked perfect on top of the beautiful cake. We can’t wait to get another cake from them on our anniversary!”
“This place is a hidden gem! The owner is the one who took care of my order and he was the sweetest man! He recommended the lamb schwarma and the falafel. And they were incredible!! Seriously the best Mediterranean food I’ve had! I really appreciated that the owner explained that he makes all of the food to order and nothing it “ready to eat” because he wants to provide the freshest, best food to his customers. There’s a great shared courtyard area right out front with picnic tables. Highly recommend! And the owner gave me a taste of the baklava - it is sooooo good!”
“Both the regular bibimbap and the hot stone bibimbap are very delicious with a lot of veggies and meat. The regular bibimbap is slightly smaller than the hot stone one, but it’s totally sufficient for a person already. The central waiting line to put an order for any vendor in this food court is a bit inconvenient, but overall it’s a nice place for a hearty Korean lunch. We would love to come back.”

“I’ve only ever ordered on DoorDash (I’m a bit of a homebody) but I was BLOWN AWAY by how good their sushi burritos are! Easily the best sushi I’ve had. All of the ingredients taste so fresh, even after the 15-20 minute drive to my house! I’m not a huge tea fan, but love popping bobas, so I just order it with extra sugar! Today, I tried their macarons and they were also unbelievably delicious. I am so glad to have this restaurant as an option in my city!”
“I was introduced to this pizza truck at the Emmitsburg Farmers Market this past Friday afternoon. I don't like wood fired pizza but I sat next to them for several hours and finally the amazing smells coming from this truck got the better of me. I got the Alfredo 2.0 and it was everything the description said it would be. Absolutely incredible melding of flavors amd a perfect crust. The pizza was perfectly cooked but perhaps best of all was served at a temperature that I could eat almost immediately instead of like most places where pizza is served at the tempersture of molten lava. “I love this kooky little shop. They have an enormous selection of teas and the service is...friendly...if a little unpredictable. This little shop is what makes Frederick great - small businesses like Voila is are great places to buy a useful and delicious remembrance of your time in Frederick. As a local I probably spend too much time and money there. Oh well!”

“As four guests visiting for the first time, we all thought the food was great. Service was slow to order a beer and desert was almost cancelled because of time and the glazing did not arrive with one of the deserts and getting a side cup never arrived. The waitress was new and very helpful and will get better with experience. The only disappointment was their Military Discount? They only allow 10% for "active" Military making one feel that veterans just don't qualify? And the 10% you receive is only on the members main meal. So for a $60.61 meal the discount was $1.49? I give the discount I receive back to the wait staff and left a $15.00 tip.”

We were instructed by the hostess that each person at our table should order a different entree to make it easier for the kitchen staff. The server provided little explanation about the menu choices and preparation. When the entrees were delivered, however, confusion ensued when the servers presented the dishes to each diner incorrectly. Wine was ordered, and the pours were not consistent in each glass, probably about 4 oz. or less each. The entrees were expertly prepared with flavorful sauces and seasonings; however, the table received little attention during the meal. We all agreed that the food quality and tastiness of the food were excellent, but the dining experience would have been outstanding if the service had been at a higher level.”

I bought a cast iron tea kettle from them years ago that I still use everyday. The people here are all so nice. We recently hosted an informal reunion gathering for about 30 people for The Frederick Children's Chorus and they were very thoughtful, accomodating, and communicative in our planning process. We had plenty of space reserved inside. The doors were open since it was beautiful weather and we also enjoyed the outdoor seating and flexibility of being able to get our own drinks while catching up. My favorite menu items have been the lentil sliders and the flatbread pizzas. I’ve also been there to get work done on quiet weekdays for meetings, and have enjoyed other events they host like Historians on Tap and karaoke nights. Overall great place and lovely owners! They often partner with local nonprofits and charities each month and is great to see ongoing community support in this way. It will remain in my rotation of Frederick spots for sure!”

The lamb kabobs (the platter came with 2) were perfectly grilled - tender, flavorful, delicious. The rice was also tasty, my favorite part was the pickled (onion? Cabbage? It was purple). The hummus was also wonderful. Garlicky but not too strong. Wish we lived closer because I would totally come visit this food truck again (and often)! I also got a box of baklava and it was perfect! Service was slow to order a beer and desert was almost cancelled because of time and the glazing did not arrive with one of the deserts and getting a side cup never arrived. The waitress was new and very helpful and will get better with experience. The only disappointment was their Military Discount? They only allow 10% for "active" Military making one feel that veterans just don't qualify? And the 10% you receive is only on the members main meal. So for a $60.61 meal the discount was $1.49? I give the discount I receive back to the wait staff and left a $15.00 tip.”

I was the only customer there (presumably bc they were about to close) but my order was ready & waiting, & despite my intentions to share with my family, I somehow blacked out (?) & all six were gone by the time I drove the mile back to my house… oops!
They have such great flavors - I love that they have a core menu of classic offerings & a weekly rotation of unique & seasonal treats. This summer, I was so excited to see banana’s foster (or maybe banana cream pie - I was riding a severe sugar high that seems to have impaired my memory somewhat…) & a lil key lime tart. Omg. Everytb in is great - you really can’t go wrong.
Personally, bc I’m poor & they aren’t exactly cheap, I like to order the minis in a 3-pack (rarely) or 6-pack (99% of the time bc I can’t limit myself to 3 choices!) I think the minis are the way to go, whether you’re watching your calories &/or carbs, ordering for small children, prefer not to spend over $50 on any food order unless it includes filet mignon…. Or if you’re just indecisive like me & want one of everything.
So glad they opened a Crumbl in Frederick, but put it on the other side of town so my ADHD allows me to frequently forget it even exists unless I’m literally driving past it, bc otherwise my A1C (& wallet$ would be in trouble!)”

The lounge itself is beautiful, modern, and thoughtfully designed — the perfect backdrop for a creative, elevated gathering. The private event area worked so well for our group of about 50 guests and it felt both intimate, comfortable and stylish. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
The service was excellent from start to finish, and Stephanie, the venue manager, was incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. She made everything easy, smooth, and genuinely enjoyable. She paid attention to detail, communicated well and was very helpful setting up and manning the audio, catering and any other needs that we had. “We stopped in Frederick on a long road trip because we had our dog with us and found this awesome brewery! Maybe it’s just me but there is something to be said about awesome bathrooms in venues. Theirs was so nice, clean and updated, down to the Dyson hand dryers and unique corrugated steel stalls and large sinks. Beer was great! We loved the IPAs and the stout. The owner is very nice (and present!). My Sonny boy even got a bone upon arrival! We will be back to this little layover town! 5 paws up.”
