“Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.”

I had to change the time of my reservation while already at the restaurant due to late arrival of the others in my group. They graciously switched the reservation . Enrico was very helpful with a few other concerns I had about my group. The bartender was friendly and made an amazing drink while I waited for my company to arrive . Our waiter Marcello was wonderful and the food was melt in your mouth delicious ! They also have gluten free pasta and pizza dough in case someone in your group is gluten free. Can’t say enough about this restaurant that makes you feel like you are part of the family !”

Service was decent for a new place but still it was a little slow. The food was quite good. One of us had Chicken Marsala which was very good but it didn't have a traditional marsala sauce. Whatever it was, it was tasty. The other had Veal Parm. It was also quite good but the pasta sauce had an unusual flavor that was slightly off-putting We would be happy to return and try some other dishes but for one factor: Fox News on the TV in the bar. Watch it at home if you like but don't make me watch it.”

“I usually order from this McDonald’s through the mobile app because the deals are often much better than ordering directly at the drive through. For the most part, the app makes ordering convenient, but one thing I learned is that once an order is placed, apparently there is no way for the restaurant to modify it.
On my most recent visit, I simply asked if one of the drinks could be changed to a different drink. I was told they didn’t have control over changing a mobile order, which I can understand if that’s how their system works. What I didn’t quite understand was why I then had to pull over and wait just to receive the different drink.
Since the soda and ice machines are right there, it seemed like something that could have been handled fairly quickly rather than having me pull aside and wait. Maybe there is a procedure employees are required to follow, but from a customer’s perspective, it made a very simple request feel unnecessarily complicated.
I’ll probably continue using the app because of the convenience and deals, but I do wish there were a little more flexibility when it comes to small changes like this.”

I had the potato salad, sweet potatoes, and 2 meats (Arkansas Brisket which are burnt tips and Hot Links). The platter comes with pickled onions, pickles, and cornbread. It did not disappoint. Plus the original BBQ which comes with it, had an interesting flavor. Sweet and vinegary, with a little heat, which was nice. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some good BBQ.”

Some flavors are incredible and feel really unique, while others can be a bit overly sweet, so it kind of depends on what you pick that week.
The presentation is also a big plus—the pink box and neatly arranged cookies make it feel a little more special, almost like a gift to yourself. However, the price is on the higher side compared to regular bakeries, which might not make it an everyday stop for everyone. Overall, Crumbl is worth trying if you’re looking for something indulgent and fun, especially if you enjoy switching things up with new flavors each week.”

“Booking Sage Cakery to make our wedding cake was one of the highlights of the wedding. As someone that loves cakes, I was so looking forward to trying Sage on my wedding day and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of their cakes. My husband generally doesn’t like cake as much, but even he loved the ones they made for us. The blackberry sage was a huge hit, and the decoration on the cake could not have been more stunning. It was exactly what we asked for and more. They worked with us too to add a topper my mom made for us and it looked perfect on top of the beautiful cake. We can’t wait to get another cake from them on our anniversary!”

After the 3rd request, the waitress said, well we don't always give that because we are running low. WHAT? First, who orders Pho and doesn't expect to get the sprouts? Second, if they were running low, isn't that something she should have disclosed when we ordered? I understand there may be a few people who don't use the condiments, but in that case, ask?! When we said the 4th time we wanted the sprouts etc, she definitely had an attitude. We had to ask multiple times for water, honey for our tea. The doors were open since it was beautiful weather and we also enjoyed the outdoor seating and flexibility of being able to get our own drinks while catching up. My favorite menu items have been the lentil sliders and the flatbread pizzas. I’ve also been there to get work done on quiet weekdays for meetings, and have enjoyed other events they host like Historians on Tap and karaoke nights. Overall great place and lovely owners! They often partner with local nonprofits and charities each month and is great to see ongoing community support in this way. It will remain in my rotation of Frederick spots for sure!”

That is the kind of experience that I usually go through when visiting Up on Market, the very pleasant restaurant bistro on Market St. in Frederick MD Last time I was there, I was perusing my phone and, for unknown reasons, went straight to Manet's painting "A bar at the Folies Bergere". And that was the mood in the space: relaxed, sophisticated without pretensions, replete with modern style but evocative of the beauty of the past. If on top of that you add that the place is owned by a hands-on married couple, one as host, the other as chef, both of them restaurateurs extraordinaire, you have a formula that can't fail. Follow my advice and have a meal there. You will find that the food is of a high level, the service is unhurried and pleasant, the esthetics of the place are a masterpiece and the human warmth is all over the property. I hope that you will feel transported to fabled locations and better times. Exactly what happens to my wife and myself. It is pretty possible.”

“Where do I even begin? The pita? Perfect texture and taste. The cherry tomatoes? Obviously fresh, juicy, and sourced from a great farm. The romain? Plentiful and CRISP. The Dill and Taziki sauce? Also VERY fresh, has a citrus kick somewhere, and seems to be made fresh as well. Because it doesn't taste like a store bought sauce filled with preservatives. The hummus? That might actually be where the citrus is from. However, the hummus is not overly salty! You can actually taste the Chickpeas and they use good ingredients as well as olive oil for the hummus too! The chicken? Is in NO way shape or form dry and it's actually seasoned! It's juicy and normal is it overcooked. The olives? Brothers and sisters I HATE olives by themselves, rarely on certain foods. But these olives are not overpowering and stealing the flavor profile, it just adds more depth to the flavor bomb of the Greek chicken Pita! The feta? What could be bettah? Seriously though if you can see this picture you should've seen that they don't skip on the feta either. Again the flavor is ALL the way there but not overpowering. While the texture is almost creamy. Probably with assistance from the sauce but still, it's not overly dry! 10/10 Would recommend & I will be back! Now the facility was spotless, the cleanest "fast food" I've ever seen. The staff? Phenomenonal, personable, kind, attentive to details, and downright superstars that make that place run like clockwork! Wooooo wo weeeee wo!!! If you haven't been here then you've got to go!! Moderate prices, exceptional ingredients, lovely staff, and clean facilities(where the staff actually care like the NW Expressway location in OKC). I'm out, ty for listening to my Ted talk! 🫡”

“By far one of the most welcoming places in downtown Frederick, but that’s just a get started. The staff is very friendly very educational for people who don’t know the ins and outs of the sushi business. They offer free gifts, constant check-in to make sure that you’re satisfied with your food the building itself is absolutely beautiful. The vibes are great. Seating is spacious open, but not to the point that it feels hollow quality of fish absolutely amazing. I’ve tried multiple items on the menu and haven’t second guest. One thing that was handed to me plating is absolutely amazing. Taste is absolutely amazing. This is a 10 out of 10 spot.”

“They say never judge a book by its cover, and this spot is a prime example why. Its located in a small space/shop but they deliver big portions and even bigger flavor. My wife and I visited this spot for the 1st time and ordered the scallion pancakes, Vegetable and Tofu stir fry, and Roast Duck noodle soup. Everything was great and portions were very generous. This will definitely be one of our go to spots in the future and highly recommend.”
