The specialties we tried: salmon steaks prepared in an Assamese way, delicious; wonderful and very flavourful mustard greens and a delicious potato eggplant mix. The went chef was very helpful. This little gem of a restaurant is worth a visit and call ahead to order their specialties.”

I called for a reservation for my girl's birthday a week in advance and the owner remembered without me saying a word when we arrived. At the end he brought her a complimentary delicious French vanilla ice cream topped with a macaron and raspberries filled with caramel. That's world class. As for the main meal, we ordered crab cakes, scallops, and I had the ribeye and she had the striploin. It was cooked exactly the way we love it and the beef quality is absolutely fantastic. The Chilean wine we had with it was fantastic. My desert was a warm pecan pie a la mode. Just delicious. This is the kind of place you would want to be at for a special birthday. We will 100% be back. Service like this isn't common in Toronto and I think you will enjoy it as much as we did.”

First of all, all the servers and chefs were so welcoming and fun (especially the head chef)! Every single piece was perfection. My favourite was the toro, but everything else was just as amazing and absolutely delicious.

Choosing the sashimi omakase was definitely the best decision. We paired it with Hakkaisan sake (cold one), and it went so well with the meal so well. Crisp, chill, and just a little bit of subtle sweetness.

NIcely done and my husbands Toast 3 egg breakfast was excellent. The only concern is the noise level. It needs more wall covering to cut down on the noise level. This would be a concern for anyone wht a hearing issue.”

We were seated in a comfortable booth for the 4 of us. We enjoyed the services from the person at the reception, up to the host escorting us to our table and most especially our server Tilda who was very courteous and very professional. She came by our table as frequent as possible to check if we were ok and if we need anything else. The food we ordered were excellent. We loved he Asian wanton Nachos and the calamari and all our mains plus dessert. “My husband and I were in town for the Blue Jays game to see our friends. We couldn't get tickets for the Jays game, so they recommended that we visit the Bull on Bloor in Etobicoke. This was Game 7! Do or die! We were all adorned in Jays' paraphernalia and arrived early to get seated before it got crowded. There were already many Jays fans sitting along the tables. We sat down at the bar and were greeted by a beautiful and friendly bartender, Deja. She asked us how we are. We told her we were from out of town. She knew our friends very well, and she raced around the bar to give them a huge hug. She hugged us, too! We ordered a couple of Blue Jay beer specials, and we got very comfortable. Deja was interested in where we were from and if we had family. We have two grown kids who are away at school. She showed us a picture of her adorable 3-year-old daughter. She loves her so much, and you could see she was a great mom! It started getting busier as it was closer to game time, and at this point, there was only standing room. She had two barbacks help her get the orders in. The game was on, and it was getting louder and louder as people were cheering for our JAYS! It was complete madness with so many people that you couldn't breathe. But the environment was so energetic and fun, we didn't care. We could see how busy Deja was, yet she attended to everyone's orders and never missed a beat in a professional and friendly manner. She was truly amazing! I could never handle so many people at once. The night went by, and we all know the undesirable result of the game. The entire room was in shock, and their faces were just drained in disappointment. I felt like the overwhelming sadness was shared in the room, and we all began to console each other. At that point, some discouraged people stayed and drank some more, but we needed to go. Deja thanked us, and she ran around the bar, and we all had a vigorous group hug, knowing it would be okay. We will heal. We gave her a great tip, and she thanked us and asked us to come back again. We definitely will. I highly recommend stopping by the Bull on Bloor! We made great memories and new friends.”

“I have been going to Canadiana for many years and have always been pleased. Last night, at around 9 o clock, we experienced something unusual at Canadiana. We had paid our bill in cash to the waitress. We respect the work waitress do we always give a 20% tip. Last night, by pure mistake we did not do that. All of a sudden, the moody waitress came back to our table and told us in an unfriendly and unkindly way: Your tip was only $ 2.00. She abruptly put the bill and the toonie on the table and left. Considering that the place was quite busy (she certainly did well with tips last night) it was inappropriate and unacceptable behavior to humiliate and put us down in a public place. We are in 2026 for goodness sake and we are regular and good customers! Would she have done that if two men made that little error? Women are half of humanity and we deserve respect, kindness and consideration. I know for a fact that some people do not tip very much for whatever reason. As a matter of fact, some wealthy people are very stingy and cheap with tips. Tipping is not legally required in Ontario, but it is a strong social custom and expectation that I support as the waitresses and waiters wages are not that high. Thank you for reading me. We will be back soon at Canadiana as we enjoy the people there and the friendly atmosphere in that neighborhood restaurant.”

“My friend and my family had a wonderful dining experience at Tobiko on Bloor Street. From the moment the food arrived, we could tell that the chef takes great pride in every dish.

The sashimi and nigiri were incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Every bite reflected the quality of the ingredients and the chef’s skill. It was truly a feast for all the senses.

We also ordered udon, which was excellent. Even the bowls, spoons, and chopsticks were carefully chosen and added to the overall experience. The attention to detail made us feel special.

Everyone at our table was smiling and enjoying every moment of the meal. Before we even left the restaurant, we were already making plans to come back.
