“This place is soooo cozy and feels just like home. Their food is always delicious. I had veggie beyaynetu, and you could tell it was made fresh and was absolutely delicious.
They have incredibly sweet and welcoming hosts, esp Maraki. She really makes you feel cared for.
On two different occasions, they treated me to Buna on the house which was prepared in a traditional way, with frankincense and all 🤭 I just love it so much! I wish I lived in the DMV area so I could come here all the time.”

“For some reason we were skeptical about returning to the premises after the experience we had under the previous owners. It was a massive mistake - my wife and I thought we would 'give it a try' and I am kicking myself for all the times we drove into DC from Silver Spring looking for a fun place to eat! From the moment we met Aidan Rinehart the GM, until we received and paid the check, we were blown away by the vibey atmosphere, the speed of delivery and the great tasting and well presented food. Alyssa, our server, deserves a special mention for her knowledge of the products, her attentive but unobtrusive service and exceptional friendliness. She is an absolute asset to Zinnia and we hope that she'll be there for as long as we patronise ZInnia, and it is well worth patronising. We look forward to trying the dinner menu, but we will definitely be back for a repeat 'Tavern' experience as well Compliments to the owner, GM, chef and staff - see you all again soon!”

“I recently discovered nomtastickim on Instagram and her Asian restaurant reviews. I don't like American food, but I've liked everything I've eaten after seeing her Asian restaurant reviews.
I picked up three items this morning at Morning My Day. The choices were plentiful and tempting. A coconut braid-not too sweet, just perfect for early morning with coffee or tea, a curry pork sung bread that was absolutely hands down delish-heated it in the oven for 5 minutes and ate it with hot sauce, and a purple yam flower bun-delicious but know that the bread consistency might not be what you're used to? It's a very moist dense dough. The lady had a genuinely welcoming smile. The shop was easy to find. I found parking quickly. There is one table, maybe two. It's more of a carry-out place. I will be back.”

“Soo, this is an unconventional review, because I was mentioning to someone how much I was craving some god jollof rice and they recommended this place and another… and imagine my surprise when they were at the Hst festival! I hopped in line, waited (amongst a crowd) for about 10-15 mins… they did have a fluid operation going for an outdoor event, so I can only imagine what a dine in experience is like! Very impressive.

But, can’t compare prices because it was an event… but the 2 items I got were definitely pricey and flavorful!
And probably enough for 2 people to have some sides if you chose a meat entree (which I didn’t), just the 2 sides (which would classify as vegetarian, Macn cheese and the jollof ( possibly vegan, not sure if the rice was boiled in a broth?)

The Jollof: The rice was very different, can’t explain the grain used, it’s very small, reminiscent of a tiny couscous… I’m told they use something similar in Hati, but with the other flavors and veggies with the grilled onions on top, it was just right.
But I was informed the Senegalese do jollof different.

So yes on the very different, but equally yes on the flavor, though different also, it was hints that are familiar while taking their own spin on it.

Will be on the lookout for them if I’m ever close to that side of Maryland.”

“Ive passed by this restaurant for years and never bothered to visit. After hearing it was the spot where the actual Greek community frequents, I decided it was finally time to give it a shot.

So first off, it's important to note that this a sit down. The exterior and my familiarity with places like Big Greek or Marathon made me assume this was carry-out, but no this is definitely a place you should dine in. The menu is small (green flag for sure) and I had to get the platter since I didn't see a wrap version which is always my go to.

Well... They clearly know whats best. The ingredients and quality are unmatched by even my favorite take out gyro spots. Also great and super attentive service. Will definitely return. Super impressed.”

“worst service ever. My family and I actually had to walk out and we were a group of 10. They did not want to serve us and I was told I should of made reservations. I watched the waitress/server clean other people’s table and completely ignore us. A customer who was a regular had to wipe down my table for us (I should’ve walked out then )but we drove an hour to come here And we were trying to just deal with the poor customer service so we can eat. Customers that were seated after us were able to order before us and receive their food. when we finally had the opportunity to order food we were told that they were out of oxtails pork and fish which made no sense because people were still ordering takeout for the same items we were trying to order.. You would think we were sitting there for free meals. The waitress told me she was going to the back to check to see what they have but when she came back she went to the bar area and started taking someone else’s orders and completely ignored us .We ended up walking out with no apology given. She Just looked at us as if she was happy to see us go because she couldn’t handle a table size of 10 people. All we were trying to do was support our Haitians. Its a shame we were treated so poorly. I suggested this restaurant to my family who drove an hour to be treated so poorly .Do not visit this restaurant”

I had jhol momo, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavor profile was spot on: a perfect balance of a little sour, a little spicy, and incredibly tasty overall. The broth added a unique depth that made it stand out from anything I’ve tried before.

If you haven’t explored Nepali cuisine yet, I strongly recommend giving it a try. It brings a different kind of flavor experience that’s both comforting and exciting at the same time.

For me, everything was a solid 5/5 — taste, quality, and overall satisfaction.
