I submitted a large take out for my brothers birthday dinner and knew this spot was fire when they called to ask for clarification for my order. We ordered a two general tso chicken combination platter with fried rice, mei fun (thin noodles) with shrimp and also another one with chicken, general tso tofu combination platter and additional sides (fries + vegetable fried rice). I personally ate the chicken mei fun and the food was so good I forgot to get a picture. It was so flavorful and addicting. I added a bit of their chili oil on top and it was the perfect level of spicy that complimented my food. I spent about $108 for all our food which isn’t bad to serve 7 people.

It was a massive mistake - my wife and I thought we would 'give it a try' and I am kicking myself for all the times we drove into DC from Silver Spring looking for a fun place to eat! From the moment we met Aidan Rinehart the GM, until we received and paid the check, we were blown away by the vibey atmosphere, the speed of delivery and the great tasting and well presented food. Alyssa, our server, deserves a special mention for her knowledge of the products, her attentive but unobtrusive service and exceptional friendliness. She is an absolute asset to Zinnia and we hope that she'll be there for as long as we patronise ZInnia, and it is well worth patronising. We look forward to trying the dinner menu, but we will definitely be back for a repeat 'Tavern' experience as well Compliments to the owner, GM, chef and staff - see you all again soon!”

It’s rare to find a place that has both great food and such outstanding customer service. Nash & Smashed definitely exceeded our expectations. This is a must-try spot, and honestly, it deserves way more attention than it gets. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to others!”

I miss the Japanese bakeries I would frequent often when living in Japan a few years ago, and this one definitely brought back those memories. The interior is cute and on display were a variety of Asian-style baked goods and some minimal seating. I got the ube twist and melon pan. The ube twist was really delicious — I’d highly recommend it. The melon pan was disappointing; I expect a crunchy cookie crust on melon pan and this one was sticky and soft. The bread itself was super plush and soft and amazing, so it would be great if they could improve upon it with a crunchier cookie crust. The bread items were $3-4 each, so not the cheapest, but I was happy to support a local Asian bakery.”

I even tried a new drink, not alcoholic, it was like a tea that was cold but somewhat spicy. It was delicious !! She liked her salad but I wasn't impressed with my selection. It was indeed a hearty portion but did have much flavor. The spicy Aoil is what gave it elevation. The fries were very oily and didn't have any salt. I only ate the bottom half with toppings and 1 fry. The Witches Brew was strong but needed to be microwaved. I wouldn't come back but I hear it's a neighborhood watering hole. Maybe the weekend brunch or pizza offering is better.”

I became familiar with Mulushewa about a year and a half ago. I don’t remember exactly what my first show was, but I remember the feeling clearly: I walked in and felt at home. Over time, it has become more than just a restaurant or live music spot for me. It has become my go-to place, almost like family.
The live band, the singers, and the overall atmosphere bring so much warmth and joy. The music carries that special Ethiopian nostalgia — the kind that reminds you of home, memories, culture, and community. Mulushewa has also become a home for incredible Ethiopian artists, including Abegazu Shiota, Yohannes Tonha, Abdu Kiar and many other talented singers and musicians.

I ended up ordering the brown stew chicken with rice, cabbage, and a side of plantains. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The plantains were fresh off the stove — perfectly sweet and soft.

Customers that were seated after us were able to order before us and receive their food. when we finally had the opportunity to order food we were told that they were out of oxtails pork and fish which made no sense because people were still ordering takeout for the same items we were trying to order.. You would think we were sitting there for free meals. The waitress told me she was going to the back to check to see what they have but when she came back she went to the bar area and started taking someone else’s orders and completely ignored us .We ended up walking out with no apology given. She Just looked at us as if she was happy to see us go because she couldn’t handle a table size of 10 people. All we were trying to do was support our Haitians. Its a shame we were treated so poorly. Shrimp w/ brocolli: amazing! Wish it had more shrimp, but the flavor is there. Pair it with some seafood fried rice and it is a slap.
Seafood Fried Rice: overall one of my favorite fried rice dishes in the wheaton-glenmont and aspenhill areas. Very well balances. When paired with the Shrimp & Broccoli it shines.
Beef & Stick: Unique beef sticks, I really enjoy it with my sister. The taste isn't exaggerated but its a hit or miss for everyone. Surefire hit for me though.”

I submitted a large take out for my brothers birthday dinner and knew this spot was fire when they called to ask for clarification for my order. We ordered a two general tso chicken combination platter with fried rice, mei fun (thin noodles) with shrimp and also another one with chicken, general tso tofu combination platter and additional sides (fries + vegetable fried rice). I personally ate the chicken mei fun and the food was so good I forgot to get a picture. It was so flavorful and addicting. I added a bit of their chili oil on top and it was the perfect level of spicy that complimented my food. I spent about $108 for all our food which isn’t bad to serve 7 people.
I really like this spot and imma come back and try other items.”

It made me kind of mad because when I walked in the ambiance as well as the photos of everything had me longing to try more than just one thing. Come on Insomnia…no fair.
So, after coming back to my senses and focused I walked away with just one…I know. You don’t know how hard that was. But, I was proud of myself. Had an opportunity to speak in-depth with the new manager of that store who is really cool and excited about being in this location.
