To top it off, I treated myself to their strawberry sourdough scone--absolutely amazing, especially paired with a good cup of coffee! Ronan, the manager, was exceptional as well. “I was first introduced to Bright Spark In March at the Ventura Beer Experience. We talked with a lovely couple behind the table and tasted Day Trip, which has become my all-time favorite. We were introduced to a concept called Musical Bingo that day, and I was delighted to make my first visit to the brewery on my 55th birthday in May. Every single one of the employees there was kind, gracious, and warm. The food was absolutely amazing and the Musical Bingo is so much fun! I have since been dragging people left and right there and recommending you guys because of what a great laid back family-friendly atmosphere it is. “Our group of 6 ordered three pastas, 2 salads, 2 apps (all to eat family style), and had a few cocktails. I forgot to take photos because we were having a great time and conversation. They have $10 cocktails on the happy hour menu and we went on a Saturday around 4:45 (reserved the time) - pleasant surprise to see happy hour on a weekend! Overall, I thought the food was delicious and the cocktails are strong and tasty. The service was also fast and friendly - loved the timing of how each course was brought out. It is on the pricier side and the portions are not super large but if you want a nice treat in a very cute space, it's worth a try!”

Now to the good and bad ... it's worth the visit but it comes at price. I had their crab cake appetizer (superb) and wild boar shank (you'll have to wait 30 minutes for this to cook), a glass of wine and their flourless chocolate cake. It set me back over $100. I WOULD GO AGAIN. Every bite was top notch. I sat indoors, but there is a small nice patio in back. Next time I'm trying their duck.”

We placed the order and for food arrived within 10 minutes. The portions are generous and the food taste pretty decent too. The prices are reasonable, and they have some great smoothies and iced teas to choose from is APPLE parking in front and behind the restaurant. This is a family restaurant and they are plenty of tables for you to dine in or takeout. They also have a restroom for customers.”

“This is my 3rd or 4th time at Hummus Republic. The food is consistently excellent. Today I tried the Earth Burger. This this is HUGE and delicious (I have enough for at least one more meal)! Sweet potato fries - excellent, and I tried their new cinnamon sugar pita chips - WOW! Tahini Shake is super tasty. My only recommendation on the shake is that they need larger (circumference) straws. A regular straw is too narrow for this thick shake. Thank you for coming to Surprise, you are a GREAT addition to the area❣”

We ordered the chicken kebab plate, which came with flavorful rice, fresh green salad, creamy hummus, and pita bread. We also tried the tabbouleh, Greek salad, and an extra chicken kebab. Everything was delicious.
The place is clean and well-kept. While the service wasn’t overly friendly, it was efficient and professional, which makes sense since it’s more of a market than a sit-down restaurant. That’s the only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five.
We ordered our food to go while visiting Ventura (staying in a hotel nearby), and we’ll definitely be back to Green Olive Ventura next time. 👍👍”

How lucky am I to have discovered this Clemente Bakery!? It’s only a matter of time before they get their James Beard award.
Update: the blueberry oatmeal pistachio cookie is out of this world good. Each bite tastes a cloud of butter vanilla deliciousness. Also it wasn’t super rich and didn’t leave me feeling bloated afterward. So so good”

“Don Lalo’s Mexican Food is hands down one of my favorite spots—I eat here at least once a week, sometimes twice! Luis Soto, the owner, knows me by name and even remembers my usual orders. For lunch, I always go with the chile relleno burrito—best I’ve ever had! My coworker swears by the taco plates, and I’ve tried them too—absolutely delicious.
Breakfast go-to is the bacon breakfast burrito—packed with eggs, potatoes, melted cheese, and so much flavor. Their red salsa is spot on, and I always grab a jamaica to go with it. They really cater to the working crowd in the industrial area and are open only on weekdays for breakfast and lunch—and trust me, they stay busy for a reason.
I’ve even had them cater birthday parties with their taco platters. Great food, great people, great service. Love this place!”

A hint of mint and full flavor of berries bursting bar god deliciousness! We ordered the butter board, now the presentation could use some work… I’m more about flavor and that butter (two options) was finger lickin good. The waiter took a few minutes to chat and told us it was pineapple butter. 🤯 it’s served with small pieces of… maybe focaccia bread (which btw alone was so good too). Meanwhile, the manager has his eye on everything. He saw the moment we put down our menus, and was there to ask is we has any questions. I did: there’s no house salad on the menu & he accommodated my request for one, which was a deciding factor for my main course. The SoCal Bolognese was bursting with flavor. This is new to the menu, we’ve been a few times… my husband is a fan, I was never impressed… until last night. The chorizo was spicy, but not overpowering, pasta cooked perfectly. The house salad could’ve used more tomatoes, but I really can’t complain since it’s not on the menu to begin with. My husband ordered the ahi steak on top of green beans and he said it was really good. It looked amazing, but I was in heaven with the butter board & the bolognese, my palate couldn’t handle the flavor overload 😜 After about 6 visits, I finally found something worth writing home about. For sure putting this place back into rotation. And the prices… very reasonable. Might be coming here a lot more. Everyone was super nice and helpful.”
