Espiritu threads the needle. They're all delicious and balanced but not overblown. Spectacular. And all in a room where the servers lean in and chat about the menu, but shrug amiably if half your table is running late - zero tension, zero pretense here. It is a place you will wish you lived down the block from because you'll feel perfectly at home, but there's still the pageantry of the whole crispy-crunchy pescado swimming in its pool of aguachile to think about, or the light as air pappadum-like tostada base under that steehead trout rillette thing that is so much better than they way anyone else does it. And don't sleep on dessert-! The carlota di limon is a jawdropper. You only think you've had good key lime pie before this; Espiritu sticks the landing.”

My favorite dish is Cau Cau, and I’ve only ever had my grandma’s recipe. I decided to take a chance and order it here, and it absolutely blew my mind. The owner was incredibly friendly and even gave my son a free scoop of ice cream while he watched the cooks in the back “make fire” on the grill.
My son is autistic, and it’s usually very difficult to get him to eat red meat, but he didn’t hesitate at all with the meat in the lomo saltado, which is how we know he loved the food too.
They brought the food directly to our table, even though they could have simply called out the order from the counter. Instead, they took the time to walk it from behind the counter, through the kitchen, and over to our table. The service was outstanding, and the food was phenomenal. We will definitely be coming back.”

When the order was ready, another truly friendly employee brought the order out and she offered to stay there --- in the blazing heat and sun while I was in my A/C car --- if I wanted to check the order before leaving! Our order was accurate and fresh and piping hot. I drove about 25 minutes out of my way to go to this location (from South Scottsdale to Fiesta Mall in Mesa) because the location 2 miles away from my home was closed to make room for new apartments. “My 11 year old son and I stopped in for some sushi tonight and I must say. I've never been so mistreated by a place of business in my entire life. Food was just ok. Nothing special. I ordered 10 piece sashimi, 2 rolls, stuffed jalapeños, miso soup and a sculpin ipa. The girl didn't know what sculpin was and asked for me to point it out on the menu so I did. Our food started coming out and 4 of the 5 items were already on the table and my son and I were starting to get full. The waitress hadn't brought my beer yet and I stopped her and reminded her I hadn't gotten the beer I ordered and I no longer wanted it since we were already pretty far along into our dinner. After I mention this she quickly hurrys to the bar and brings the beer apologizing for the delay. I tell her like I said I no longer wanted it so she took it away. Later when she brings the check the beer that I didn't receive and said I no longer wanted was still on the check. I asked her to please remove it. The owner comes over and in an agitated and aggressive manner asks if there is a problem wirh the bill. I told him yes the beer needed to be removed. He says no he will not remove it since it was already poured. He walks over to bar and brings it back and says here is your beer you need to pay for it. I explained to him how I received it after I had gotten most of my food and no longer wanted it but he refused. He was beyond rude and unreasonable. Most restaurants would take back a beer even if you take a drink and don't like it, I didn't get my beer until I was done with 50% of my food and didn't want it anymore! I mentioned something about his poor customer service and how it's no surprise the place is empty with no customers. The guy gets really heated and demands j pay for the drink. I got up and told my son let's go and the owner begins to assault me pushing me in the shoulder to back me up. 3 of his staff and my son witnessed this. He then stood in front of the doors and would not let us exit until I signed the credit card slip. I went back to the table and signed it "F You" and he let us out but after he read the signature the owner ran outside the store threatening me and getting into my face while calling the cops. His staff even thought he was crazy and were begging me to sign it and they offered to reimburse me $5 cash for the beer. They said their boss was having a bad day. The staff even agreed that the beer came out late which should not have been problem to have it removed. I ended up scribbling something on another copy of the credit card receipt and he finally allowed us to walk away without harassing us. My son was so scared he was calling 911 himself because of how the owner was assaulting me and up in my face. All this mistreatment over a $5 draft beer. I will never step foot in this place again and I should press charges against the owner for putting his hands on me and assaulting me. He even mentioned he has it all on camera so he can validate himself everything that took place. I read over other reviews for this place and it seems this owner likes to argue and fight rather than take accountability for his and his staffs actions. It's unacceptable for anyone to EVER be treated this way, EVER.”

“I was looking for a Boston Cream Pie for a celebration specifically and I'd seen this place a few times just driving by. I looked them up an was very impressed by the selection they had. I wasn't sure that the pie I was looking for would be something they had in store or if it had to be made to order. I called the shop and spoke with Brian and he let me know that they did in fact have the exact pie I was looking for and that almost every pie they have is usually available. That is pretty awesome and hard to find. The pie was delicious and worth every bite. I am a huge fan of small family owned business and I most certainly will be back, Thank you Brian for the help and keep on doing an amazing job! It was a pleasure to meet you.”

“The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was high quality. They also gave me a great laugh when they called me a lady by mistake although both sides were gracious. They were very accountable and graceful. I respect them for how they interacted with other diners. They knew how to treat their customers and it was a peaceful atmosphere. “Cute Lil Asian spot. The vibe is happy, the tables are fairly close to each other and the chairs are padded. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The menu is vast with lots of options for sushi lovers and non. The sushi rolls were good and the ikura was fresh and yummy. They have Boba drinks and a nice happy hour menu. They also have a cute patio you can sit at with lots of lights and cozy vibe. Would eat here again.”

“Honestly, we came here by accident thinking it was Tumi, but since we were already inside, we decided to give this place a try and I’m so glad we did. We were blown away by how delicious the food was.
My favorite dish is Cau Cau, and I’ve only ever had my grandma’s recipe. I decided to take a chance and order it here, and it absolutely blew my mind. The owner was incredibly friendly and even gave my son a free scoop of ice cream while he watched the cooks in the back “make fire” on the grill.
My son is autistic, and it’s usually very difficult to get him to eat red meat, but he didn’t hesitate at all with the meat in the lomo saltado, which is how we know he loved the food too.
They brought the food directly to our table, even though they could have simply called out the order from the counter. Instead, they took the time to walk it from behind the counter, through the kitchen, and over to our table. The service was outstanding, and the food was phenomenal. We will definitely be coming back.”

“We made the drive from across town to try this restaurant after seeing them on Tiktok. Our biggest selling point was that the pink tacos are dye free! After talking with one of the owners, she did confirm she used beets for coloring in her made-from-scratch corn tortillas. She was very friendly and took very good care of us while we were there. The food was absolutely delicious. I was very pleased with the beet salsa as I am allergic to tomatoes. The food was a good portion for the price. We all left satisfied, especially my kids. The biggest down side is that it's hard to find unless you're looking for it. I highly recommend making the effort to find them!”

“This place looks too bougie to be authentic but then you walk in and see the abuela making tortillas and you get hope. Then you realize the music is a playlist crafted by the abuelo and straight outta Sonora. The tacos come and you realize you’ll never judge a book by its cover again. This place is legit. The Sonoran taco comes on a homemade flour tortilla and it’s perfect. The tortilla is translucent and it melts in your mouth. The fish taco is stacked with pickled onions on lightly fried fish with a crispy contrast. The salsa is hot. I want to live here. Please adopt me.”
