“The staff is so disrespectful! We arrived at this place around 12:35pm and the hostess said they would have a 35 min wait list. We said ok, got our names in the wait list and left. After 35 min I came back for a time check and the hostess said more 30 min wait. We have a toddler and 1 hour wait would be too much for the toddler. I asked to talk to the manager but the hostess said there was no manager on duty that day. I insisted since that wouldn't make any sense. After begging to talk to the person in charge, finally someone showed up. The manager was even more disrespectful than the hostess - she kept this ironic smile all the time and said that the hostess removed our names from the list by mistake but nothing could be done, not even offer us the top of the wait list and we had to go to the bottom of the list again. She also said they were doing the best they could - I left without saying a word since keep discussing was just pointless - when I walk out the door I just heard "and please don't come back". Just don't come here.”

“I've been meaning to try this place because their Verdure al forno (roasted vegetable platter) looks really yummy. This weekend we decided to have an early meal to beat the crowd. We ordered Egg White Frittata and Cipolla Vegan Pizza. Both items looked and tasted delicious. Instead of the usual tomato or cream sauces, the vegan pizza had roasted red pepper sauce which added a unique taste profile. There is no garlic on the pizza—which is outstanding—with no unpleasant after taste. We still have to go back and try the roasted vegetable platter. The restaurant is elevated from the street with large picture windows. It's nice and bright inside during the day.”

I am impressed, as I don’t usually go to Subway but I am glad I did after all these years and to still receive perfect food and service.

“Today I was so happy to discover this little Korean-style café inNorth Vancouver . The food was absolutely delicious, and the coffee was even organic! Usually when I come to the NV area, I only visit a few of the well-known cafés, but this time I searched on Google and found this five-star hidden gem — and it truly lived up to the rating.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always with a smile. The breakfast and brunch menu was really interesting — even the avocado toast came in several creative variations, and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered the Avocado Egg Sourdough Toast and the Bibimbap Bowl for 10.99, with extra mushrooms. Everything was freshly prepared by the chef, so it arrived warm.
Their special sauce was unique — a little spicy, a little tangy — drizzled over the avocado toast, paired with fresh salad greens that really boosted the appetite. The beef was also seasoned perfectly, very flavorful, and the coffee was rich and aromatic.
Definitely a place I highly recommend!”

And when I say hole in the wall, it's the cutest little shop I've seen on the north shore. I glanced at their sandwiches and one of them could tell I was hesitant and suggested I order the cheesesteak. The Japanese woman was super friendly and I could tell this was going to be better than average. Well, the sandwich was delicious. Probably the best melted cheese sandwich I've had in North Vancouver. As for overall sandwiches on the north shore, I'd rank this place just behind Dip Co. in Deep Cove and tied for second with Puccini's on Lonsdale (or slightly ahead of Puccini's if you include quality of service). I'll be going back this week for the chicken pesto sandwich and then eventually try their small selection of Japanese food which I hear is great, too. I'm so glad I stumbled onto this hidden gem.”

“I've been meaning to try this place because their Verdure al forno (roasted vegetable platter) looks really yummy. This weekend we decided to have an early meal to beat the crowd. We ordered Egg White Frittata and Cipolla Vegan Pizza. Both items looked and tasted delicious. Instead of the usual tomato or cream sauces, the vegan pizza had roasted red pepper sauce which added a unique taste profile. There is no garlic on the pizza—which is outstanding—with no unpleasant after taste. We still have to go back and try the roasted vegetable platter. The restaurant is elevated from the street with large picture windows. It's nice and bright inside during the day.”

There was ample parking down the street, so why does this business owner think it was acceptable to block a traffic lane? would they do it in a regular car lane? Our favorite dishes by far are the flaming poke and spicy tuna sushi rolls. I've had poke at several other places around Vancouver and none of them compare (even highly rated, award winning ones)!
The big draws:
- Generous portions (We split 1 poke bowl and sushi).
- Exceptionally fresh ingredients.
- Addictive spicy marinade for the tuna/salmon.
- Not overly heavy on the mayo (keeps it lighter, which we prefer).
- Crab is perfect, not overly moist.
