A special shoutout to Armen, one of the coolest people around, who takes the time to get to know you while preparing hundreds of orders during the day. He even discussed known allergies with us (only sesame) so our daughter can enjoy their food on our next visit. We’ll definitely be back soon so he can prepare a plate for our daughter.”

“Backbone was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. I started with the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and had an amazing balance of flavors and textures. From there, I had the corn agnolotti, which was easily one of the highlights of the night. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the delicate, flavorful sauce complemented the sweetness of the corn beautifully.
For my main course, I had the steak and fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor, while the fries were crispy and seriously addictive. Everything on the plate worked perfectly together.
I finished with key lime and scoop of coconut sorbet, which was just as impressive and the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as it looked.
What made the experience even better were the people. Every employee I interacted with was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The chef was also incredibly nice and personable, which added such a special touch to the evening. You can tell there’s real passion behind what they’re doing, both in the kitchen and in the way they treat their guests.
The attention to detail at Backbone really stood out to me. The atmosphere was stylish and inviting, the service was exceptional, and the entire meal flowed perfectly from one course to the next.
Backbone is absolutely a restaurant I’ll be coming back to. From the tuna tartare and corn agnolotti to the steak, dessert, and amazing hospitality, the entire experience was outstanding. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while and an easy five stars. Highly recommend!”

I'm talking perfectly seasoned beef, and delicious (but not overpowering) burger sauce, crisp vegetables, and the brioche bun is spectacular. There's no burger in Glendale that even comes close. The wings are also some of the best I've ever had and the homemade sauces are so, so tasty. The fries are perfect, and they have amazing milkshakes too. To top it all off, the service is ridiculously good, and the prices are fair. This is my go-to spot in town.”

“I love that this is a small restaurant and have been ordering from here off and on for over 18 years. The majority of the dishes are tasty with good portions, which is why I continue coming back. My main issue over the years has been consistency, particularly with the amount of protein in some dishes. Portions of chicken, beef, or shrimp can sometimes be lacking compared with the other ingredients, unless you’re ordering one of the whole fish dishes.
I’ve ordered the papaya salad four times recently, each time hoping the previous experience was a fluke. While some moisture and sliminess can be normal, the papaya has repeatedly been excessively slimy and somewhat translucent. It still has some crunch, but lacks the fresh, crisp quality I expect. The fish sauce aroma also varies significantly, sometimes very pungent and other times much milder.
The red curry is delicious, but inconsistent. Sometimes it’s extremely thick and other times very watered down, without much of a middle consistency. It also contains an excessive amount of thinly sliced bamboo shoots, which can make up most of what you receive, with very little chicken or beef.
The shrimp dishes are tasty, but I do think the shrimp should be cleaned and deveined. That would make a noticeable difference in the preparation and overall quality.
On the positive side, the chicken satay is excellent—hot, delicious, and well prepared. The crab fried rice is also delicious and one of the dishes I really enjoy.
After more than 18 years of ordering here, I clearly enjoy their food and appreciate having a small local restaurant like this. The flavors and portions are generally good. I’d just like to see better consistency with freshness, preparation, and the amount of protein in certain dishes. Overall, still a solid 4 stars from a longtime customer.”

Now, if you are curious enough about my "rating scheme", here's "the moment of truth. I am a music photographer who travels the world with the worlds greatest musical talents (Michael Jackson, AC/DC, Rolling Stones or Rammstein, to name a few) for almost 40 years. When being asked "where do you live" I tended to ask "in hotels". At my peak, I "shot" 250 shows a year. Will say: been there, saw and tasted it, and a lot, as I may say and much to the dismay of my doctor who is in my back to lose a few pounds. Quite a few, as I may add, which is why my wife and I walk ten thousand steps per day, where- and whenever we can - and explore a lot of new exciting places - places you may oversee when just driving by. While I love to share my experience with others, I am sometimes shocked how people use their "power of word" to down-rate amazing places because of minor incidents (in my all time favourite restaurant Le Petit Four on Sunset Plaza the owner was even called a racist as he refused to toast the (free) bread in his packed restaurant - they simply do not offer toasted bread, as no French place does, as I may add). Or I just read "Chicken piccata so over-salted I hope the dog enjoys the leftovers tomorrow, I brought home most of the dish." Did they speak to their service? How could the restaurant learn that something was wrong when patrons even have their leftovers boxed to take home? As a dog owner, I want to take the writer and shake him or her really bad and say "you give over-salted food to your dog? Anyone with a bit of brain understands this is a horrible idea... I hope you agree. So If I had the say on this portal, I would offer just to see ratings of my friends. So I would see what the ratings were by like-minded people. Sadly, I have no say. I try not to compare apples with oranges. A place like this simply does not compare to "The Ritz". At first, I assume that a restaurant is clean, they do not greet you with a gun - and they deliver whatever they promise. I do not give stars for things that are expected. In my rating scheme, three or more stars are awarded if they actually exceeded my expectation. Four, if I am sure I will come back. To achieve five stars, I must be willing to take a detour of thirty minutes or more to go again. Again, thank you for reading this.”

“Greetings to All! This European Market is simply a dream come true, a magical store for me, my family, and my relatives. It's a nice store with a variety of cuisines, and amazing food. Their torte with sour cream and cherries is out of this world. Their cabbage dolma and chiken in made in French version are simply mouthwatering 😋.The salads especially the quinoa, and cabbage, korean eggplant salads are tasty and healthy. You can buy anything and everything in this store. The most important thing is that the place is very clean, and you can easily find a place to park, and it has indoor and outdoor services. I no longer worry about cooking. I always go to Olive store with joy, especially knowing that I will be welcomed with beautiful smiles of Hasmik, Valentina, Vera, and sweet Nalya. They are all helpful, courteous, and provide outstanding customer service. You can also earn points and use them during your next visit.
