“I hired Tareks for catering on this week and OH MY GOODNESS! Fantastic as always; Incredibly fresh, flavourful and so easy! I told him how many people and he gave suggestions and was the least stressful catering order I have ever placed. It arrived hot and fresh and perfectly on time. So much food we all had a second plate and still had leftovers at the end. Highly recommend Tareks for any time lunches, dinners or catering. Has to be one of the best in the city, not one complaint from my group of 15 people! He even called afterwards to check in that everything was received - absolutely amazing service! The only set back was the crowed nature of the restaurant. The popularity of the place ment that you had to skilled at reading lips in order to communicate with your table mates.”

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

Unlike other places where you often have to wait a long time, the service here was great. In particular, a staff member wearing a long green uniform was polite and professional—I really appreciate that attitude, the smile, and the respect. Another staff member in red also came over to help and was equally wonderful. The service was far better than the drive-thru; the food was delicious, and the place was clean. Truly excellent work and There is a seating area under the tree in front of the restaurant; it is wonderful, and the air is lovely.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !! The Prospect Road location is going to be such a well loved location - so much so that, I don’t think the staff realized how much of the community would flock there. They’re BUSY, and out of ingredients, but the staff there were HUSTLING around, smiling and getting orders out that they could. I expect delays at the beginning. They never expected so much traffic, give them patience folks and expect a mess up in your order possibly or wait until they are fully loaded and in the flow with the area. Otherwise incredible sub (despite picking off a couple things I didn’t ask for), the bread was amazing, still 10/10 would go back, and didn’t even care it was chaotic. Inside though although small, its essentially a novelty convenience store with local goodies. They have a little bakery section with homemade stuff, the moon mist fudge was incredible and a must try! They also had a bunch of “Jones Soda” flavours that I’ve never seen before anywhere around here - even at the big candy stores, (like s’mores and the fallout edition one) which was pretty cool!! They still have ice cream and everything that was at multi scoop - just with a lot more options and delicious fresh options to go. Something for ANYONE at a really reasonable price. Prospect needed this so much - thank you, and good luck with your continued success! 🎉♥️”

“Stopped by the counter at Wild Leek on Saturday morning and ended up staying way longer than planned just taking pictures of the light coming through the front windows. The avocado toast with the poached egg was genuinely great, and the woman working the juice station was happy to let me snap a shot of her pouring a beet blend without making it weird. It's a tight little spot so don't expect a ton of seating, but the exposed brick and plants make for a really nice backdrop if you're into that kind of thing. Already planning to go back with my camera on a quieter weekday morning to catch it before the rush.”

“We stopped by Johnny's Snack Bar on a Saturday afternoon while walking along the waterfront and were pleasantly surprised by how good the fish cakes were. The staff were friendly and quick even though the place was busy with tourists, and they still took a minute to recommend the donair to my husband. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes, which we appreciated after years of overpriced tourist traps. We'll definitely make a point of stopping in again next time we're in Halifax.”

Service was a little slow and unfortunately our order got lost and it took a while to get our food. Kitchen tried to rush the meal to make up for the delay and our spinach dip was still cold in the middle. Overall the food was good and I would return to try the food again.”

I was absolutely tickled to find easy street diner in Halifax today while down in Nova Scotia for work. they had the most extensive gluten free menu I've ever seen. They had delicious gluten free onion rings, crispy, light, just the right amount of seasoning. they were divine. They also even had things like chicken and waffles that were gluten free!! 😲😲😲 needless to say anytime I'm working in Halifax again, I will be trying more delicious food in this cute, trendy, a la 60s Jetsons-cartoon-style diner!”

The barista talked us through the single origin options without being pretentious about it, and my flat white was easily one of the best I've had in Halifax. They've got a few tables tucked by the window that get great afternoon light, perfect for people watching while you chat. Small spot so it fills up fast, but honestly that just adds to the cozy, buzzing vibe of the place.”

“We arrived a bit after 4pm. Waited to be seated by a friendly hostess. The service was good all did I have a bit difficulty understanding what was said. The food was very good and fast. The bourbon burger tasted good. The only thing I would like to say is that we found the restaurant very cold. We were seated next to the kitchen and we could feel a cold draft. We told the server and she said she would ask the manager. Of course we didn’t stay long enough to feel the difference so I hope for the other guests it got warmer. We thought the price for one burger with fries was a bit on the high side. But we ate there on a Wednesday night so received the second (same) meal half price.”

“Stopped by for dinner on a Wednesday around 7pm after wandering the waterfront all day, and the seafood chowder was easily one of the best I've had in Halifax. Our server was genuinely great, patient with all my questions about the boat and happy to point out which table had the best harbor view. The dining room has this cozy nautical feel without being too touristy, which was a nice surprise for a spot right on the boardwalk. Already planning to bring my visiting friends back here next weekend, it's just a solid, no fuss dinner with a great story behind it.”

They cannot adjust those due to the pizza oven. It was very chilly under the fan to the degree that we all had our jackets on. Other than that, the food and service is great.”

The chole was rich, well-spiced, and perfectly balanced—not overly oily, which is often the case elsewhere. I dragged a group from the conference center to make the 25 minute walk to Tony's, getting there around 8:20PM.

We all ordered donairs, of course. I got a large.
Only do that if you came reeeeaally hungry.
It's massive.
Like, really massive.

I think this donair restored my faith in humanity for providing reasonably priced, filling, delicious meals. Or it just spoke to the carnivous Texan soul.
It's the first and only donair I've had but really set a bar for any I will have in the future! Seriously stuffed with meat, messy to eat, and packed with sweet and spice and flavor.

I couldn't eat one every day (unlike a gyro, there are very little veggies here) but it was a great meal and one that I'll remember more than some others I've paid 2-3x as much for.

I also tried someone's poutine and found it reasonable, but I've only had a few and they're kind of similar. This one was hot with some nice and rich gravy.

While shooting an event, my bag was stolen and not only did the event coordinator help me sort things out on the camera, but Mike the bouncer actually FOUND my backpack AND all of my gear (minus bank cards) in a nearby lot!! BEST MATCHA IN THE CITY!

The strawberry matcha oat slush has changed my life in ways I cannot put into words for this review. Pastries, baked goods and food is always unique and very well done. Dumplings are a special treat if they have not sold out.

I cannot recommend this cafe enough, I send everyone here whenever anyone asks about a cafe recommendation. I tell people about the matcha slush like I am promoting religion. I am debating starting knocking door to door to spread the word of the Suda Table matcha oat slush.

“Went in today after wanting to try Cafe Byron for a while. It certainly did not disappoint. I had an iced mocha with a honey whip on top. The flavor combination of the chocolate and honey paired with the roast of their espresso beans is honestly perfection.

I will 1000% be back and this might just be my new go to coffee place in the city.”

“Visit pretty regularly both alone and with family and the pizza, beer, and staff are always fantastic. The biggest downside is how noisy it can get when it's even a bit busy, you can barely hear the person next to you. Some sound-proofing in the space would go a really, really long way! Was honestly surprised it didn't happen during the renovation from 2 Crows to Yeah Yeah's.”
