“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

The kitchen’s attention to detail, execution, timing of courses and overall quality is truly impressive and so appreciated. Service has been delightful. Both servers were the same both times and just as kind, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu, drinks, wine and describe the dishes perfectly every time. Halifax is lucky to have this incredible gem of a restaurant. The Ostrich Club would stand up beside some of the best restaurants in every major Canadian city. It’s a privilege and a pleasure to enjoy a meal here.”

“This is a more upscale restaurant and reservations are encouraged. First off the service was impeccable and the ambiance quite nice, including the dishware. As for the food: we were 4 people and 3/4 had amazing meals. They were accommodating of all our dietary restrictions, both celiac and allergies. One of us ordered the steak which came out cold but they immediately replaced it. Even the second time the steak wasn't quite the cuisson ordered but at least it was warm. The appetizers were all fantastic so were the desserts. If it weren't for the one main. This place would have gotten a perfect score. I would give it 4.5 if I could award half points.”

“An excellent Don's, one of the best in HRM in my opinion. I find the staff all friendly and quick. My order is always made promptly, correctly, and warm. This McDonalds is typically very clean, with plenty of parking. Location isn't ideal for walking, but great when you're driving around the area.”

“Got 3 mcflurries and 2 pops at the drive through. Service at this location is amazing; the staff are incredibly curious and friendly, a type of service I have to say you don't get at very many places anymore. I hope the staff are treated well by the owner, because I was very impressed at how they spoke and did their job. We got our order quickly even though they were steady. Easy 5/5 stars for me.”

“I go to the Mumford McDonald’s multiple times a week. The staff - particularly the drive thru girls, are amazing, personable and patient. Treat your people with respect and they return it. They know my order and my dog loves them. McDonald’s food is McDonald’s food, but the people make it.”

“Since they are fixing the building or something. It took me a while to find it. They had the Scaffolding all along the sidewalk. But I eventually found it when I went across the street. They are amazing workers they are fast, and quick. There were so many customers with students, workers were busy. I got my food right away. They need to make that place bigger. “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !! The Prospect Road location is going to be such a well loved location - so much so that, I don’t think the staff realized how much of the community would flock there. They’re BUSY, and out of ingredients, but the staff there were HUSTLING around, smiling and getting orders out that they could. I expect delays at the beginning. They never expected so much traffic, give them patience folks and expect a mess up in your order possibly or wait until they are fully loaded and in the flow with the area. Otherwise incredible sub (despite picking off a couple things I didn’t ask for), the bread was amazing, still 10/10 would go back, and didn’t even care it was chaotic. Inside though although small, its essentially a novelty convenience store with local goodies. They have a little bakery section with homemade stuff, the moon mist fudge was incredible and a must try! They also had a bunch of “Jones Soda” flavours that I’ve never seen before anywhere around here - even at the big candy stores, (like s’mores and the fallout edition one) which was pretty cool!! They still have ice cream and everything that was at multi scoop - just with a lot more options and delicious fresh options to go. Something for ANYONE at a really reasonable price. Prospect needed this so much - thank you, and good luck with your continued success! 🎉♥️”

“Went for lunch today and had the Pho and the "Banh Mi" (meat bread). The good: The broth of the Pho is easily the best in HRM, great flavour and mouth feel and you can actually see some liquid fat floating there. The noodle were well cooked and the portion of beef was good. The baguette of the banh mi was excellent as was the meat. The not so good: The choice of meat for the Pho was very basic. There are many of us out there that would like very rare beef, beef ball, tendon and even tripe. I've never seen this option offered in Halifax and would be very impressed if I did. The Pho also needs more accompaniments, I got a small segment of lime, an ample supply of mung bean sprout and one piece of cilantro. I want to see Thai Basil and bird eye chili, and more cilantro and lime. The "Banh Mi" has one option for filling and while it is very good, I would like to see a variety of options. Cold cuts, pates, pork belly slices, satay beef should be a standard variety of options. I'd also like to see it offered as a banh mi sandwich with kewpie, pickled daikon/carrot, cucumber, cilantro and chili's. The Verdict: I will be back. The Pho and meat bread, while basic are very well done. I would be back even more frequently if some of my suggestions about were added. There is a real need for solid Pho and Banh Mi on the peninsula and Red Satay is the closest yet and it wouldn't take much to elevate it to a weekly must go.”

“Johnny’s Snack Bar is right at the top of my list of favourite places to eat in Halifax. It’s a true North End gem that’s been family run for over 40 years ! You can feel the love in every part of it. The food is consistently perfection, no matter what you order. From old school flat top burgers and breakfasts to daily specials, pork chops, fried chicken, and their incredible pan-fried haddock, everything is done right, every time.

The atmosphere is classic old school diner feel & always busy. Chris and Tasso, along with their sweet and hardworking parents, make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The service is genuine, the portions are generous, and the prices are more than fair.

Although street parking for Johnny’s has been terribly affected by City installing of bike lanes, you can find parking at the forum.

This place has it all, comfort, value, flavour, and heart. If you haven’t been, go. You’ll understand why it’s such a beloved local spot.”

It’s more than half whip cream. Fake not real and I could not taste any coconut. At all. Except the sprinkle of roasted coconut on the top. Not good at all.. Tossed it out! Not worth the calories. The absolute best coconut cream pie that I have had at a restaurant not a bakery is from The Armview! Homemade and absolutely delish. And worthy of the calories . Sorry guys. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the creamy oat milk lattes and colourful lemonades and we found ourselves retuning to the Cafe every day of our vacation. I was greeted by friendly staff and my first thought was of the cleanliness of the restaurant and the staff were sharply dressed. The ambiance was chic and it was decorated in classy high end furnishings. I choose a both, yet still had a great view of Halifax harbour. The Braised Short Rib Pappardelle was cooked flawlessly and the sauce was tasty delicious. I look forward to the steak on my next visit. Mixologist Abi is amazing and pours the best tasting cocktails the city has to offer. His drinks please both the eye and the taste buds as he has a few tricks up his sleeve. “We had an awesome lip smacking dinner today. Authentic desi Chinese main course and great tandoori for appetizers. The masala fries was a sweet surprise which is a first time for us in halifax restaurant menu. Hope you keep serving great food like this thanks”

“I've been here a few times. Normally satisfied but today a little disappointed.

Today we went for brunch. I ordered the mushroom Benny. Their hollandaise is awesome so I really wish they offered a standard eggs benny because all their Benny options featured very strong and overpowering ingredients, masking the sauce. I found the truffle cream cheese to be overpowering in the mushroom Benny masking all other flavours. Other reviews say the same thing about other Benny dishes.

As other reviews warned, the poached eggs came out hard and dry despite being ordered as soft poached. I chose not to say anything.

No espresso based coffees which would be a nice addition to what is otherwise an upscale brunch menu.

Tater tots are awesome. Service is great. Vibes are nice. Prices are reasonable considering the location.

While I wouldn't recommend any of their eggs benny dishes due to the overpowering ingredients (shame to hide their incredible hollandaise) I will be back again.”

“Came here for the lobster eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint! Tons of tender lobster and tasty $3.50 mimosas to go with. On top of this the service was phenomenal and our waiter even gave us some tips on local shops, markets and fun things to do. Don't miss out on this place!”
