Although it represents an historic era architecturally, Old Town Alexandria has a diverse and ever-changing restaurant vibe. One of the more recent additions, and a welcome one, is Capo Italian Deli.
The shop is located where King Street intersects N. Washington Street, on the northeast side of N. Washington Street. It offers hot and cold sandwiches – think chicken or beef cheesesteaks (6-inch, $14.49; 12-inch $17.49), chicken parm ($13.50) and from the cold sandwich selections (on freshly-baked Italian Seeded, Philly Sub Roll, Wheat Roll, Spinach Wrap) they offer traditional deli fare, including honey ham, roast beef, an Italian combo with salami hot capicola, and provolone (6-inch $14.49, 12-inch $17.49). My go-to is a turkey/roast beef half and half, on a Philly sub roll.
For a shop that takes up a remarkably small amount of space, the menu is unusually well crafted. Each time I visit I witness a healthy delivery trade, with online orders heading out the door every few minutes. There are tables and chairs both inside and outside the shop, with the outside seating offering a front-row view of Old Town at its best. Service has consistently been good, the place is spotlessly clean, and the sandwiches taste just as good the second day, so ordering a 12-inch becomes a real bargain, if you get two meals out of one order.”

This has become our favorite date night spot. Delicious food options and creative cocktails along with exceptional service (Brett) made our evening one to remember. I love a well made Old Fashioned and I wasn't disappointed. The secret ingredient of the quarter branch apple brandy took it to next level. We are looking forward to our next date night already!”

“A few of us came in for a business meeting on a weekday and while there we decided to grab breakfast as well as coffee. This is one of the newer style of McDonald’s with kiosks only to order from in the dining room, which I can’t stand. But the system worked well and the ordering process was efficient. The dining room was very clean and looked newly renovated. The restroom was really clean as well.
The food and coffees came out pretty quickly, it was fresh, piping hot, and looked great – just like it’s supposed to look. This was easily one of the best McDonald’s meals I’ve had in the US since I used to work there back in the 80’s, back when they were a decent fast food place. The hash brown was tasty and hot too. But I really liked the flavor, assembly, and freshness of the Egg McMuffin!
I came in with very low expectations, as it’s a McDonald’s and left with my expectations totally exceeded! I just hope the management here is able to keep this level of quality and service through all times of the day and do it everyday! Consistency is one of McDonald’s weak points and a reason I haven’t eaten at a McDonald’s in the US in a few years.”

And, I am a very picky coffee snob. Service is sometimes a little chaotic, but the staff is super friendly. Weekend mornings are insanely busy- a reflection of how good they are. Amazing, spacious outdoor seating! LOVE this place.”

“When this place is good it is excellent but there are times when the food and experience are just a bit inconsistent. Sometimes the French toast or bacon will be dried out or like it's been sitting for a little bit under the light but when it hits it really is the best. I've rated it four stars just because consistency is so critically important with a restaurant and we often debate if we're even gonna go because we know when it's not great it's just not worth it especially for the cost.
I will also say the atmosphere itself is fine and what you'd expect. It's at least very clean, which is important. Our favorite items are:

- the fact that they have kids' portions and options for some of these”

“While exploring Alexandria’s craft beer scene, we stopped at Aslin Beer Company and had an excellent experience from start to finish.
The first thing that stands out is the size of the space. The brewery is massive, with multiple levels, plenty of seating, a large bar area, merchandise shop, arcade games, and a welcoming atmosphere that never felt crowded. During our visit there was even a private event taking place, but the brewery is so large that we barely noticed it.
The beer was outstanding. As an IPA fan, Aslin definitely delivered with a great selection of fresh, flavorful craft beers. Every beer we tried was well made and exactly what you’d hope to find from a respected craft brewery.
The food was equally impressive. We ordered the pepperoni and hot honey pizza along with the cheese curds. The pizza had a perfectly crisp crust with just the right balance of sweet heat from the hot honey, while the cheese curds were hot, crispy, and highly addictive.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the staff kept things moving despite a busy afternoon crowd. I also appreciated the large selection of beer to go, glassware, apparel, and brewery merchandise available for purchase.
A helpful tip for visitors: Aslin is a cashless business, so be sure to bring a credit or debit card.
If you’re looking for great craft beer in Alexandria, Virginia, Aslin Beer Company is absolutely worth a visit. Excellent beer, delicious food, friendly service, fun games, and one of the coolest brewery spaces we’ve visited. We’ll definitely return the next time we’re in the area.”

Last time were in (early December) we got the chicken crunchers with the pineapple chili glaze, which were incredible, but when we came in this time the menu had been changed a little, to include the chicken crunchers being replaced with boneless wings with a set sriracha sauce. My boyfriend and I were really disappointed by these, the breading was thick and doughy and the texture of the chicken was a little strange. Also, the pizza dough was much thinner this time around, which was also a bit disappointing. We'll be back, but I really hope they bring back the chicken crunchers in their previous form and the crust is as fluffy and thick as it has been during previous visits.”

The squid alla marinara pasta sautéed perfectly blended with the right spices and herbs. I tasted basil and it was minty and really satisfied my appetite.
