“After having been to Driftwood twelve times I can confidently say it’s the only restaurant in Seattle worth dining at.  Lots of places make claims about freshness and local ingredients, but chef Dan Mallahan shops at the Farmers Market two days a week. It’s not a joke or a gimmick. If you want to eat food grown exclusively in Washington State, that tastes real, then Driftwood is the spot. They serve tomatoes that actually have flavor, delicious veggie dishes, and meat and fish that are tender and juicy. They combine so many flavors in a subtle harmony making each bite you take delightful. Not to mention the killer cocktails.  The vibe is beautiful but chill. The staff are lovely and kind. Everything about Driftwood is real. The food, the people, even the hand towels in the bathroom.  Concerned about prices at a farm-to-table restaurant and getting enough to eat? Go with a friend and share two starters and a main. For example, I just had the Olsen Farm Kennebec JoJos, the Piece by Piece Farm Tempura Delicata squash, and the Butcher’s Cut Pork Chop. Yum!”

“Tried this very special “takeout only omakase sushi box”, Edomae style ( use cured/aged fish, and red vinegar seasoning in rice). The executive chef, chef Ryo, has worked in many renowned restaurant including Michelin star sushi restaurant “Sushi Sho”. Before joining this new restaurant “Ltd Edition Sushi” in capitol hill, he worked side by side with chef Nakazawa-an icon of edomae style in Japan, at both Sushi Sho Tokyo and Sushi Sho Honolulu. The sushi omakase box and kids fish bowl are both very sophisticated, the curing and aging techniques brings out the deep complex flavor of each fish and gives each fish this extra tender texture, the taste profile as such is hard to find here in Seattle. Chef sake flight ( we tried Haneya Junmai Ginjo and Hidakami Junmai today), one is floral and one on the dry side, pair with his sushi very well. Sushi is in a very elegant wooden box and everything you will need for the experience including a separate soy sauce dipping dish is prepared for the guest. This is, truly, a perfect omakase takeout experience. 💕💕😋”

“Everything was exceptional, the food, the service, the great chefs that you can see from part of the dining room. The one thing however that kept my experience from being next level, was the misplacement of the frisee on the main dish, the duck confit. Its too bitter, naturally and it's a little bit of a shock to the pallette compared with what otherwise could have been a great plate with subtly bold sauce and perfect puff pastry. I just got home and I'm still confused with why the frisee was on the plate?”

It’s a difficult time we are in with the pandemic of 2020, but Maneki has transitioned to take out, which it never did before, and is so organized that it blew my mind when I saw how clearly labeled each item was when I got home. I was surprised, I thought it was going to be all presentation and lack luster on flavor. Indeed it exceeded my expectations. The food was extra creamy and dense. You can taste all the flavors. Our favorites were the Ube Coconut, Dutch Chocolate, Lemon Curd, and London Fog. This does not discredit the other flavors they are also very good. Note Blue Moon is a cotton candy flavor not a beer flavor 😂.”

Around the side by the bus bins there are a few thematic coloring books and pencils, origami instructions and paper, and freely available water. I thoroughly enjoyed myself finishing the coloring page of a Chinese herb. The food influences seem primarily German and Asian. I recommend for someone who loves food or beverage exploration, or for friends looking for someplace to feel both homey and fancy.”

I really enjoy Gion because while it may cost a bit more, it’s actually a fair price until you try to finish the whole sandwich. Then you’ll find it’s a great price. But not too big to eat, fresh, thoughtfully balanced, and served warm. Best of all is the bread. The bread is so good that on the rare chance I finish my bánh mìthe next day, the bread still tastes fresher than most sandwiches.”

We ordered the Grindhouse, a Mortadella, classic Salami, stacked with Dijon mustard, mayo, shredded iceberg, house made dill pickles, provolone, and a bright red wine vinaigrette, all on a perfectly chewy demi baguette. Every bite was balanced and delicious in a cute space. Downside for older guests is the unmanned Kiosk to order. No opportunity to ask about the sandwiches and then after ordering yourself the kiosk asks for a tip! And parking, however, was nearly impossible. We ended up in a garage that cost more than the sandwich itself. Still, the food was excellent — just go when you have patience (or a chauffeur).”

“My husband introduced me to Tai Tung shortly after we were married 60 years ago. My sons grew up eating there and much later my granddaughter did too. The food is exquisite, especially shrimp in crab sauce, the service is impeccable and the ambiance is kind of old fashioned and comfortable. In fact, Tai Tung is and always has been virtually the best restaurant in Seattle.”

Also there is a very tasty deconstructed Passion Fruit pie with i think a shortbread component and a torched meringue star topping - so soooo good! You MUST try Ginger & Scallion - you won't be sorry!!! I am trying to convince them to open a location closer to the Lynnwood/Lake Forest Park area where I live/work! I'd go every day....”

“If you can snag a reservation here, do it — but honestly, even if you can’t, they hold a few tables each night for walk-ins, and it’s so worth the wait. The Pink Door is one of those rare places that’s somehow both trendy and timeless. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated — chic, eclectic, and a little bit artsy — and when the live music starts, it’s pure magic. We were lucky enough to be seated in the back dining room overlooking the Ferris wheel and the Salish Sea, and the view alone could’ve made the night. But then came the food — and wow. From the appetizers to the pappardelle pasta and rabbit (plus alllll the bread), everything was beyond delicious. Huge shoutout to our server, Jeannie, who was amazing — warm, attentive, and clearly loves what she does. We left already planning our next visit. This place is beautiful, delicious, and full of charm. We’ll definitely be back!”

“I cannot remember our waiters name, but he was absolutely amazing. He gave us recommendations and helped build a sampling platter of oysters. He was knowledgeable, kind, efficient, and pleasant to chat with. The food was amazing. My fiance and I shared oysters and fish and fries, the fish was some of the best I’ve had. We enjoyed the ambiance, the views, the seating was comfortable, everything appeared to be clean. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Seattle!”

The steak and potatoes au gratin were on point, wine selection was wonderful. What topped the experience was the service recieved from Nelson and the entire staff. “We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was beautiful, warm, and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a special celebration. We visited to celebrate a birthday, and the team truly made it a memorable and special occasion for us.

A special thank you to Daniel and Mr. Eyup for their outstanding hospitality and attention throughout the evening. They made us feel genuinely welcomed and took great care of us, which made our experience even more enjoyable.

The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was prepared with great quality and attention to detail. The portions were also perfectly satisfying, not too small or too overwhelming, just ideal. Service was fast, smooth, and professional, and we never had to wait long for anything.

We also loved the music and overall ambiance, which added so much to the experience. Everything — from the atmosphere, service speed, food quality, and hospitality — was simply excellent.

“We were back in town for the marathon last weekend. My husband went to culinary school at the Art Institute of Seattle and we have been back to visit many times. I just wanted to leave a note here about the waiter we had Sunday evening. It was the best service we have had in a long time. Several other restaurants we went to included an 18-20% gratuity to the check, and service reflected that. Cutters doesn’t. Our waiter gave good wine recommendations, was attentive, patient with our kids, and even gave us a small portion of noodles to take home and finish with the sauce that came with the mussels. We tipped accordingly, and really did appriciate the service. It seems to be a lost art. Food was great! Kids loved the mocktails. 2 course meal was delicious. It was a great place for my husband to get his seafood fix. Thank you!”

5 stars because they are putting in the hard work. Locally owned, locally operated, and community focused. They put in the effort to bring people together with fun little events AND by being a coffee shop that stays open long enough to enjoy a comfy happy hour on their outside seating.

What they do well: Community.

What they struggle with (Sometimes): Espresso. I know it seems crazy to give 5 stars and then be critical of their espresso. But its just the way it is. I believe they use Lighthouse Roasters (local to seattle) and I don't know if its the roast, the beans, or the machine. But the espresso can be subpar on occasion.

But still worth the visit.”
