We went a little hard, and got the focaccia, 2 pastas, the ribeye, polenta and olive oil cake. Every single dish was divine! Our waitress recommended the truffle butter with bread, and bone marrow butter on the ribeye. She also recommended having the polenta come out with the ribeye. She was so right! Driftwood 2722 Alki Ave SW, Seattle Seafood • $$$

“After having been to Driftwood twelve times I can confidently say it’s the only restaurant in Seattle worth dining at.  Lots of places make claims about freshness and local ingredients, but chef Dan Mallahan shops at the Farmers Market two days a week. It’s not a joke or a gimmick. If you want to eat food grown exclusively in Washington State, that tastes real, then Driftwood is the spot. They serve tomatoes that actually have flavor, delicious veggie dishes, and meat and fish that are tender and juicy. They combine so many flavors in a subtle harmony making each bite you take delightful. Not to mention the killer cocktails.  The vibe is beautiful but chill. The staff are lovely and kind. Everything about Driftwood is real. The food, the people, even the hand towels in the bathroom.  Concerned about prices at a farm-to-table restaurant and getting enough to eat? Go with a friend and share two starters and a main. For example, I just had the Olsen Farm Kennebec JoJos, the Piece by Piece Farm Tempura Delicata squash, and the Butcher’s Cut Pork Chop. Yum!”

Ltd Edition Sushi 1641 Nagle Pl Suite 006, Seattle Sushi • $$$$

“Tried this very special “takeout only omakase sushi box”, Edomae style ( use cured/aged fish, and red vinegar seasoning in rice). The executive chef, chef Ryo, has worked in many renowned restaurant including Michelin star sushi restaurant “Sushi Sho”. Before joining this new restaurant “Ltd Edition Sushi” in capitol hill, he worked side by side with chef Nakazawa-an icon of edomae style in Japan, at both Sushi Sho Tokyo and Sushi Sho Honolulu. The sushi omakase box and kids fish bowl are both very sophisticated, the curing and aging techniques brings out the deep complex flavor of each fish and gives each fish this extra tender texture, the taste profile as such is hard to find here in Seattle. Chef sake flight ( we tried Haneya Junmai Ginjo and Hidakami Junmai today), one is floral and one on the dry side, pair with his sushi very well. Sushi is in a very elegant wooden box and everything you will need for the experience including a separate soy sauce dipping dish is prepared for the guest. This is, truly, a perfect omakase takeout experience. 💕💕😋”

NEKO Cat Cafe Seattle 519 E Pine St, Seattle Cafe • $$

“I brought a friend with me from out of town to visit this cat cafe- neither of us had been before. The staff were very kind and it was clear how much love is put in to the care and well being of the kitties. I’d recommend coming here, they have cute stickers and cat toys and other merch as well! Bring a few friends, I think the experience would be best with a slightly bigger group of friends (maybe 4-5) just so you have more people you know in the room with you (meaning, fewer strangers in the room) since they do cap the number of people that can be in the room at a time (for the kitties safety and wellbeing!).

Parking: May be difficult to find a spot really close, will likely have to park a couple blocks out on the street. Parking was cheap, about 5$ for just over an hour. It wasn’t TERRIBLE, but give yourself some extra time and grace to find a spot.”

Buddha Bruddah Seattle 2201 Rainier Ave S, Seattle Asian Fusion • $

“We used Buddha Brudda catering for our wedding at Treehouse Point in July 2025. Not only were Drea and the entire team incredibly easy to work with leading up to the day, but the food was FANTASTIC, and the whole dinner service and bartending staff were so kind and accommodating the day of.

We worked with Drea to customize a menu that fit our needs, which included family-style service instead of buffet, which worked beautifully for our small group of 20 guests. We also opted for pre-dinner appetizers (charcuterie cones, egg rolls, etc) and late-night snacks (sliders, mac salad cups) for our overnight guests, which everyone LOVED!!

Keep in mind they do not do linens, plates/cutlery (beyond bamboo/plastic) or glassware, but were extremely accommodating by picking up/dropping off our rental order from a nearby events company. It was a HUGE help and one less thing for us to arrange.

Our guests absolutely loved the food - all of the appetizers, dinner, late night snacks, and on-the-fly sangria the bartender made with wine/tea/lemonade was fantastic.

I highly recommend Buddha Brudda for your catering needs if you want a relaxed, yummy, yet elegant dining experience!”

Yum!”

“I’ve had one of the best fine dining experiences in Seattle here at Copine, even better than Canlis.

Seattle cuts loose to a lot of fine dining experiences, especially a lot of the restaurants here do not pay attention to detail, or service usually comes subpar. I would say Copine really focuses on the basics of making an experience for you, so it becomes a meaningful experience.

First and foremost, they have a great understanding of French cuisine. Everything tastes very delicate and well thought out. I definitely loved the steak and their meat dishes. I think the chef has way better understanding of cooking meat rather than seafood, so as someone who loves meat, this was an enjoyable meal.

How can I forget about their service! Their staff was thoroughly trained and very knowledgeable. I really loved all the wine pairings and hearing the thoughts behind. Service was above and beyond, and everyone was so kind to make my birthday dinner something special.

There are 2 fine dining restaurants I would recommend from now on: Copine and Cafe Juanita.”

Everyone who served us, including the chefs, was so kind, warm, and genuinely happy to be there. You could really feel the positive energy and strong bond among the staff, which made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.

Each dish was beautifully presented and came with thoughtful explanations, adding so much depth to the meal. It was a feast not just for the taste buds, but also for the eyes and ears. The ambiance was simply perfect.

“Chef is nice and friendly. Sushi-wise I was hoping for something more, it started really well and 4 nigiri are high lights and impressed me, the yozi scallop one brings you right into summer, and the one wrapped in clear Hokkaido seaweed feels like a fresh bite of ocean, apple wood smoked salmon has the perfect balance of smokiness. Oysters nigiri is really fresh and well done.
However, it didn’t go uphill as omakase usually do where next nigiri tastes even better, towards the second half of course some nigiri feels unbalanced, or even too salty because of overpowering source, hand roll is one of them.. desert didn’t wow me unfortunately.

Overall good experience but I was really hoping it could be beyond just good.”

If you're looking for a vegetarian restaurant that delivers on both taste and atmosphere, Cafe Flora is a must-visit. This Seattle gem offers a stunning dining experience with a menu packed with creative and delicious dishes. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The restaurant's beautiful decor, complete with lush greenery, creates a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The menu at Cafe Flora is a vegetarian's dream come true. We started our meal with a trio of appetizers that were all absolutely delicious. The FLORA BAKEHOUSE GOUGERES were cheesy and satisfying, the BURRATA & STONE FRUIT was a refreshing combination of flavors, and the MEDITERRANEAN SPREADS were a flavorful medley of ingredients. For our main course, we couldn't resist the SUBSTANTIAL menu items. The KIMCHI BLACK BEAN ALMOND BURGER was a flavorful and hearty option, but our favorite was the FRIED TRUMPET MUSHROOM & POTATO WAFFLE. This unique and satisfying dish was topped with walla walla onion rings, lime crema, herb butter, and hot agave. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a variety of refreshing drinks. The ROSEMARY LEMONADE, BLUEBERRY LAVENDER FIZZ, CHERRY FIVE SPICE FIZZ, and BLACKBERRY TANGERINE NOG were all delicious and perfectly balanced. We couldn't resist indulging in dessert, and the ETON MESS and COLLINS FAMILY ORCHARDS PEACH SHORTCAKE were both absolutely heavenly. The service at Cafe Flora is impeccable. I have tried all vegetarian, vegan versions. Last night my son and daughter-in-law brought me to MOTO. I ordered the vegan pepperoni pizza. The first bite made me literally want to cry. This was the best pepperoni pizza of ANY kind I have eaten in my considerably long life! Thank you Lee, Nancy, and the entire MOTO crew! Our omakase experience at Suzuki was absolutely incredible. Of course, the food was amazing, but what made it truly special was the entire experience, from the service to the atmosphere.

Without a doubt, it was the best birthday dinner I’ve ever had.

The staff yelled at me "Don't ever come back again!!!" It is like robbery in plain day light. They force you to purchase the plastic box you do not need. I noticed they used to have plastic plates for dining ins, but now they got rid of all the plastic plates so customers who eat in have no option but to buy their plastic boxes. This is forced sale. Driftwood 2722 Alki Ave SW, Seattle Restaurant • $$$

Yum!”

She was so knowledgeable about all things pastry baking, and answered my (mannnny) questions about each individual pastry helping me to pick the perfect one for my taste buds. She was so delightful and seriously put the cherry on top of my Seattle trip. A lot of the other shops we stopped by seemed annoyed with tourists and me asking questions but she was genuinely was excited to serve us. The wild part is, she did all of this a couple minutes after close bc I didn’t realize they were closed as I approached the counter. She could have easily turned me away but instead she was so inviting and spent a fair amount of time with me making the experience memorable. I will be SURE to visit her again my next stop to Pikes place market and shout from the rooftops : ANYONE WHO VISITS SEATTLE, GO SEE / SUPPORT SERENA AT HER LITTLE PASTRY SHOP!

Also : note…
These pastries are REAL, AUTHENTIC, QUALITY, like hand made pastries. You can taste the love and labor. Not mass produced and generic quality like some of the other shops we purchased pastries from. I want a refund from all those shops so I can go back and spend it alllll on Pufftown.

Plz take my word for it and go try one of these unique, decadent combinations.”
