“Had one of the best meals of my trip to Portland at Lilia Comedor! I dined solo and the team was kind enough to accommodate me with the Chef’s Dinner tasting menu for one, which already set the tone for such a thoughtful experience. I also did the wine pairing, and every single course was incredible! Super flavorful, beautifully presented, and full of unique ingredients and combinations I wouldn’t have thought of myself.

The portions were also surprisingly generous for a tasting menu. I left completely full and very satisfied. The wine pairing was excellent, and the sommelier was knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly passionate about what they were serving. Huge shout out to Jason, who took such great care of me all evening. He made the experience feel relaxed, personal, and genuinely fun.

What really made the night special, though, was the service overall. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. It somehow felt elevated and cozy at the same time, like being welcomed into someone’s home for an amazing dinner party. And the handwritten note at the end was such a thoughtful touch.

Absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Portland. Five stars without hesitation.”

Almost seemed like we were bothering her. Food came out 15 minutes before 1st round of drinks. Kept dropping more plates before we finished a course. We easily spent $1200+ (still tipped 20%) and felt like we were rushed out of there. I didn't make the reservation, just got invited. Having worked 18 years in Portland restaurants (BOH), it just felt unwelcoming. Again, the food and place are great. Just wish we had more time to savor the moment without feeling like a hassle. Small tables will have better luck I'm guessing.”

“I'm really disappointed with Rudy the Manager at this location. I came to use my reward for the 25% milkshake which is good from 2pm - 5pm. I arrived at 2pm exactly. I made my order and scanned my QR code for the discount. When I noticed my charge on the screen, which already went through the total charge was still the regular price. They told me that the register was still showing 1:55pm and that they couldn't honor the discount. I told him it's 2pm already and that it's doesn't specify on the app that it has to show 2pm on their registers. I told him I wanted a refund, he argued with me and almost told me he can't refund me. I told Rudy that it's very misleading. As a Manager, he could've just refunded me and recharged me again for another milkshake with the discount since it's 2pm. He tried to tell me he couldn't refund but I stood my ground. He eventually gave me my refund. I will never patronize this location ever. Screw Carl's Jr and their stupid app. 🙄”

“We have tried Salt&Straw at various locations and states. Very consistent across it all.

Open concept design. Benches against giant windows to feel the breeze (it was a hot day). I’m sure wintertime they shut it tight. Bathroom inside (need a code).

The staff were very patient and friendly. You can ask as many samples as you want. Even if there’s a line, it usually move fast. Creamy, strong flavor, good quality ice cream.

The menu has interesting options. Even though we have been to many locations, we still haven’t tried them all. There are tubs and merchandises on display if you like a souvenir.”

“Yes. This place is good. I got the “spicy chicken strips.” They were beautifully fried and crisp. I like my heat and they were not spicy. Still an enjoyable texture, however.

Their side tenders came with pickled radish which was refreshing and not too sweet.

Their side of kimchi mac was a star. Slightly spicy and tasty.

I think when I come again, I want to try their curry mash as that’s suppose to be unique as well.

“Langbaan is a fantastic, special-occasion destination. The tasting menu, accompanied by wine pairings, made for a memorable evening. We were lucky enough to get counter seating for our reservation, so we got to watch both the activity in the kitchen, and the team that was plating all the courses on the other side of the the counter where we sat.
The variety and creativity were spectacular. One example was a dish that looked like Pad Thai, but the 'noodles' were made from sliced squid. Each of the 12 items in the 5 total courses were described in great detail as they were being served.
Portion size ranged from exquisite small bites to bordering on entree sizes. All in all, everything added up to a perfect amount of food for the evening. I was pleasantly surprised by being able to get a reservation on relatively short notice, so if you've been considering the Langbaan experience, don't be discouraged by reports of how much lead time it can take to get a table.”

“I asked GPT to help find me a few burger places to try and this is one that came up. And I understand why. The burger was great. The fries were amazing, and came with a ranch sauce that I could tell was hands down better then the ones most places serve.
The burger had a great texture and the way everything was prepared I didn't even bother trying to add ketchup to it even thou I add it to everything. It was just that good on it's own.

I wanted to try one of the malts but was so full from the burger that I now have a reason to go back.

They tried their best to keep a hundred people happy and fed. The food is ample and very affordable for a 5-course meal of soup, salad, bastilla, entree, dessert, and sweet tea. It's a Portland iconic experience everyone would love. Is it perfect? Maybe, not for tall Americans with long legs sitting on little cushion tuffs, but it's a true Moroccan slice of life for us who enjoy different cuisines and atmospheres while dining. The bacon wrapped jalapenos were awesome as were the other ones I tried, but my enchiladas were a big disappointment. The flavor was unlike any other I have eaten, and disagreeable to me. The Mexican rice was crispy and crunchy also with an odd flavor, and the black beans were mediocre. All in all, my choice was a bust. The service was good, and liked the decor, so I would probably give it another chance, but I won't be ordering the enchiladas!”

The Honus Wagner, chicken and waffle style fried oyster mushrooms over waffles with truffle syrup, was incredible. Ultra crispy mushrooms paired so well with the syrup and waffles. The Bobby Bonilla beet pastrami sandwich was a many layered flavor bomb. Such a great play of textures and spices. And Mr. 350 was the best version of chilaquiles I have ever had. Better than any in Tucson. We got to sample brioche straight from the oven and are still dreaming about it. Slathered in house made vegan butter and, no shame, dunked in that truffle syrup. There Will Be Blood was a mighty fine Bloody Mary but the Pina Caliente blew my cocktail loving mind. Smokey from the mezcal, spicy and smooth as pineapple silk. Huge kudos to the mixologist!!! At first, I was a little skeptical about their signature drink, the mole mocha—but after trying it, I was pleasantly surprised. It has such a unique flavor, and they balance it really well. It’s now one of my favorites.

The atmosphere is another reason I keep coming back. It has a cozy, relaxed vibe that makes it a great place to sit, read, or have a good conversation. I’ve spent a lot of time here doing exactly that, and it always feels welcoming.

One thing that really stands out is the service. There’s a guy who’s usually there who always greets me with kindness, and that consistency makes a difference. It adds a personal touch that you don’t always find.

The duck preparation and through line in the meal is exquisite. The dessert of mint gelato, quince, and almond cookie was amazing.
