“Good Japanese foods , many varieties of dishes . The fish grilled sea bass is cooked just perfectly fine . The salad is kinda american Japanese fusion but still good . The carbonara noodle - I don’t really care (It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the dishes) - overall is a great place to enjoy Japanese foods”

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.”

The wax beans were a standout - snappy and bright with serrano chile, toasted hazelnuts, and a tangy Frenchie vinaigrette. The garden lettuces were crisp and well dressed with radish vinaigrette, fresh dill, walnuts, and shallots. Good vibe, happy staff, great mix of flavors. The orange wine pairing tied it all together. “Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!”

“Tonight we, my husband and I, with our dear friends, the Crays, dined at Tomat for the first of what will be many times. The restaurant features a dining room and a roof top patio. A welcoming, comfortable space. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable about all menu items. Our server Miley took excellent care of us throughout dinner and dessert. She assisted us with choosing items that would pair well with each other. She was never too busy to stop to see if everything was to our liking. She brought the chef to our table so we could let him know personally how much we enjoyed his creations. He gave us a bit of background on his plan of sustainability and creativity for his restaurant. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, light and dark tuna with the freshest tomatoes. The welsh rarebit was so delicious. The weiser melon with strawberry kimchi was a delicious surprise. The house milled saffron rice was amazing. Our mains did not disappoint. The trout and chips were excellent. Everyone at the table said “best trout we have ever had”. The vegetable chips were outstanding. The vaca vieja ribeye was perfectly cooked. The pork three ways with chamoy was also perfectly cooked. Dessert was madelines, warm from the oven, with the strawberry sorbet and the saffron ice cream. All were outstanding. Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Great food with great service in such a comfortable atmosphere. And, we have already made reservations for next month!”

“This place is so good I went twice in the same week! Every piece was so perfect and it was the perfect amount of food. Of all the places I've been for omakase in LA I'd say this is the best bang for your buck especially if you go for lunch during the weekdays. You won't be disappointed. It's located in Weller Court and many folks go to sushi gen and other spots but this place is so fresh and the service is wonderful. Also very quiet inside.”

Mochi - shrimp shiso mushroom thing was great, forget mochi

Market shrimp tempura - pretty tasty, well cooked

Cocktails - looks great, tastes great if you order correct

Service - servers weren’t very attentive and had to flag down the staff multiple times. Also food came out in inconsistent cadence and was a bit slow too. It was also quite warm till they turned the ac on and the sun was very bright that shot through the sun shade.

For the price this is non-repeater as there’s better options out there surely.”

Very informed and helpful with ordering suggestions and wine picks. She was also kind and fun to talk to. Each dish we ordered was delicious. “Stopped by Be Bright Coffee and ordered a cortado made with their Colombia Paola Trujillo Wush Wush Natural. The coffee had tasting notes of blood orange, red currant, honeysuckle, and tart cherry juice, which made it a really interesting coffee to experience in a milk drink.

The cortado itself was very well executed. The milk had a smooth, creamy texture with strong integration, and the body remained cohesive throughout most of the drink. As I worked my way through it, the espresso and milk continued to hold together nicely without developing a thick or separated layer of foam. The tasting notes had good clarity and came through well in the milk. The latte art could have been a little cleaner and more defined, but that’s a minor presentation detail and didn’t take away from the quality of the drink.

My main technical feedback would be the temperature. It was served just slightly hotter than I think it should have been. The flavors were still clear from the beginning, but the difference became noticeable as the cortado cooled. The coffee really opened up, and those fruit-forward characteristics became even more expressive and enjoyable. Starting the drink at that slightly lower temperature would have made the experience feel more dialed in from the very first sip.

I gave Be Bright four stars, and part of that comes down to the $10 price of the cortado. At that price point, I think the expectations naturally move into a different category. When you’re paying $10 for a cortado featuring a coffee like this, I’m expecting the execution to be as close to perfect as possible. The slightly higher serving temperature, along with the minor presentation detail, was enough to keep this one from reaching that level for me.

The customer service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the person working the register was especially nice and made the experience feel inviting. Overall, it was a very good cortado with quality coffee behind it, and I’d definitely return to try some of the other beans they offer.”

“I just tried Bridgetown Roti for the first time. I can immediately say Mom's Curry Chicken Roti did not disappoint. It was packed with flavor and incredibly juicy inside, with a nicely grilled exterior. For me, their Pineapple Habanero Sauce made it complete. Giving it that extra spicy kick I wanted. The pineapple perfectly toned down the habanero so that it wasn't too hot. Just flavorful.

I also tried their Oxtail & Peppers Patty. Definitely good, but not as much of a standout as the roti.

Lastly, I tried their Macaroni & Cheese Pie. This was somewhat disappointing. If I had to guess, perhaps it's not a popular seller. Mine tasted like it had been reheated numerous times and definitely didn't taste fresh like the rest of the food.

“The place is a little hidden, but once you find it, it’s totally worth it. Every dish we ordered was spectacular!

The Wagyu carpaccio practically melted in my mouth and was such a great way to start the meal. The uni mazemen was rich, deeply savory, and packed with flavor. We also loved the Wagyu katsu sando, which had the perfect balance of tender, juicy meat and fluffy bread. The hand rolls were incredibly fresh, and we ended the evening with a slice of cheesecake that was light yet indulgent.

The craft cocktails were just as impressive as the food. They feature creative Japanese-inspired flavors like matcha and fresh citrus, and the presentation was beautiful.

I also loved the decor and overall vibe. The atmosphere was intimate, and the music really added to the experience. Everything was reasonably priced, making this a great spot for a nice meal without feeling overly expensive or crowded. They also offer valet parking, but I ended up parking in a lot around the corner, which was super convenient.

Modern style design that’s chic and comfortable at the same time. We ordered the Wagyu Cheeseburger and Uni Pasta. Both of the dishes were good with flavor but the Uni pasta could’ve used a little more sauce but it’s a preference I guess. The cheeseburger came out looking like a hot mess but it delivered with flavor. The Basqu Cheesecake was the dessert we ordered and it was perfect with flavor and the presentation. Service was attentive and on point most of the time. So if you’re looking for a nice place to have a delicious bite or drinks then definitely check out this place, especially the gorgeous looking bar.”

It's a week later that I tried these tacos and I can't stop talking about them. My favorite was the beans with cactus. Soooo good. Also, the atmosphere was just so nice and lively. The food was AMAZING. The fig and roasted beet starter was delicate and tasty. The ragu fettuccine was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My husband's rib eye steak was melt in your mouth tender and grilled perfectly. We splurged and got two desserts, the chocolate mousse and the date pudding. Both were very good, though I preferred the date pudding with it's delicate caramel sauce. The service was excellent. (Kudos Lilia). The only down side was the noise level. There is sufficient space in the ceiling for sound dampening insulation. They should seriously consider installing some..”

The food was fresh, tasted great and plentiful. And I couldn't finish my meal because it was so much food. I highly recommend this place. The service was good also. “Met two friends (we are 43-60) here for dinner tonight and we had a lovely time. We came early at 5:15, we had one of each of the skewers, the salmon curry and the sprouted cauliflower. We thoroughly enjoyed it all.
Certain songs felt a little loud but mostly the music was fine for chatting. Service was excellent. Look forward to returning!”
