Starbucks Is Playing With Its Lunch Menu
Starbucks is tweaking its lunch menu and will be featuring some new menu items for roughly 200 nationwide stores. The company is offering freshly made sandwiches, grab-and-go salads and sides that may be replacing a favorite on the menu such as the paninis or wheat sandwiches.
The new menu will sport prices of under $10 before tax is applied. Some of the foods you can see on the new menu include:
Cubano sandwich with smoked loin and pulled pork za'atar chicken and lemon tahini salad with freekeh
Cucumber tzatziki, green goddess avocado salad with orzo and rice
Roasted chicken sandwich with a fig spread
The stores offering the Mercato line will still have their breakfast pastries, but will not have the current salad and sandwich choices.
Starbucks will also be donating its leftover food to the Food Line, through the company's FoodShare program.
Starbucks' Mercato launched in April in Chicago with Seattle being the second market to get it. Since 2013, the company's food business has grown significantly and continues to make investments to ensure it doubles by 2021. Starbucks pays attention to what customers are looking for, which are healthy grab-and-go food.
