“We had such a lovely experience at Ariari! From start to finish, everything was wonderful. Stephen / Steven was fantastic—attentive, welcoming, and genuinely lovely throughout the evening.

The food was excellent. The crab is an absolute must, and the duck was another standout. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The cod was beautifully prepared, although I felt it lacked a bit of flavor and didn’t particularly stand out from cod I’ve enjoyed at other fine restaurants.

One detail I especially appreciated was how thoughtful the restaurant was toward children. Having proper plates and cutlery ready for little ones is such a simple yet meaningful touch, and something you don’t often see at NYC restaurants.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience with wonderful service, delicious food, and thoughtful attention to detail. I’d give Ariari a solid 4.7/5. We will absolutely be back!

“One of New York’s hidden secrets. Not to be missed.”

“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.”

“Loved every dish- fluke with black tea, mint and peach(who knew raw fish and fruit went so well together?), amazing grilled artichokes and grilled eggplant. Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. I had a plate with raw marinated tuna, raw salmon and raw scallops. The little heaps of fish were so pretty on the plate with their contrasting colors.”

“Not easy to find. You have to enter a building lobby (no signs) and find it inside. The food was excellent, as was the service. We had a large group and it was served family style. Lost one star for noise. The place is very busy and sound reverberates off all the hard surfaces.”

“Nudibranch was outstanding—easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. We started with the mushrooms, chicken sandwich, and cavatelli, then had the Denver steak and monkfish as our mains, with scallion pancakes on the side for three people. Every dish was creative, flavorful, and exceptionally well executed.

The chefs are Momofuku alumni, and you can feel that influence in the bold flavors and inventive combinations. Man, I miss Momofuku—but Nudibranch definitely scratched that itch while still feeling entirely like its own thing.

Highly recommend. I’ll absolutely be back.”

“El Gallego Seafood is a great place to go for delicious, comforting Dominican food. One of my favorite things on the menu is their soup—the sancocho is absolutely delicious, and the tripe soup is also really good. They also have a variety of ceviches that are fresh and flavorful.

If you’re looking for traditional Dominican dishes, they have plenty to choose from, including rice and beans, oxtail, saucy meats, fish, and more.

What I really love about this place is that it’s open 24 hours! You can come in at any time of day or night and still get fresh, quality food. I’ve even been there around 2 AM on a Tuesday, and everything looked incredibly fresh.

Definitely a great spot for Dominican food, especially when you’re looking for something satisfying late at night!”

“A Vegetarian Gem in Koreatown!

Seoul Food Shop in Koreatown, New York, is a wonderful find—especially for a pure vegetarian like me. It's not often that I find a place with good vegetarian options, but this spot truly delivered.

I ordered the vegetable dumplings with garlic tofu, and they were absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. For just $15, the taste was amazing—honestly some of the best food I've had in this area.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. It's a great spot to grab a bite while exploring Koreatown, and the location makes it easy to fit into a day of sightseeing in the city.

As a vegetarian, finding a place that offers such tasty options at a reasonable price is a real treat. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone—vegetarian or not.

“This was my second time at Blue Hill, although my last visit was several years ago before they moved to the Family Meal concept. And I really like it. Each course comes with an assortment of dishes that you can mix and match at your own pace, which makes the whole meal feel relaxed and fun.

I sat at the bar, and both the atmosphere and service were excellent as always. Every course was fantastic, and this is such a great time of year to visit when there are so many amazing vegetables in season. One course highlighted several different peppers, including a specially developed habanero that had all of the sweetness and none of the heat. Really cool! The dessert was really interesting as well as it incorporated Sungold tomatoes. I don’t think I’ve ever had tomatoes in a dessert before, but it was inspired and worked beautifully. A fantastic dinner. I’ll definitely be returning.”

You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! He brought us a candle and we got some great pictures. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.”

The current location is a small intimate setting, but they mentioned they are closing temporarily in two weeks, as they are moving to a larger location. The staff are super friendly here as well. “Amazing meal. The restaurant is just staffed by the host and the chef, but the service is impressively attentive. The host noticed I was left-handed and switched my place setting to accommodate that. The meal started with a puree of Japanese sweet potato with toppings like small rice crackers and ikura. Very refreshing and delicious! We then got 4 small dishes- grilled fish with peas and fish cake, fluke, soba with fresh shiitake, and water eggplant.
Then we had 8 courses of tempura- anago, peppers, shrimp, scallop, eggplant, crab, sweet potato, and seaweed with uni on it. This was followed by rice with wagyu beef and a dessert of strawberry and adzuki. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. The service was what really made the evening special- each dish was carefully explained, including what seasoning we should use to accompany the dish and everything was conveyed with warmth and a touch of humor. This place is a gem. Thank you for such an amazing meal!”

“Service was excellent. Your staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken pate, bread and butter and the trout tartare were all very good. We did order three of the same mains, which was the steak. It was cooked exactly as expected, but the only minor issue was the delay in delivery. Not the fault of the staff, but I assume the kitchen was overwhelmed with orders and the restaurant was very busy around 8:30-9 pm on a Friday. I get it, but the wait between the app and the main was lengthy, over 30 mins.
Drinks were great and the wine I tasted was very good as well. Back tj the staff, our waitress was a 10. Friendly and kind, and even made some great suggestions regarding one of the apps I was going to order and offered several women for me to taste. The chocolate cake was also very good. Overall, other than the delay, all was wonderful. Even our table was better than expected. I originally made a reservation on Resy for 2, at 8:15. Then I called back and asked to move it to three people. You guys made the accommodation, but told me that it would in the front near the host. I said no problem. Once we arrived, we had to wait a few mins for our table, but you guys seated us in the back…at a great table.
I did see that you gave the front table to Will from Taste, so I totally understood why I waited a few mins…but overall, our table was better than expected!!!

I had passed by Los Tacos No. 1 several times, but the line was always so long that I never stopped. This time, maybe because the weather wasn’t great, there was hardly any line, so I decided to give it a try.

And wow—it was so, so good! The tacos were absolutely delicious. Now I understand why there is always a line here.

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!”

Both of us order everything: white, hot, and barbecue sauce; chick peas and black beans. In addition to the cukes and tomatoes, customers can also add olives and pickled red cabbage on their meal!! Tiebah and Thaliah are always welcoming, and always remember our names and our orders. We are never disappointed!!!”

Our hotel was about 1.5 miles and decided to walk it to work an appetite, it was well worth it. We ordered Chicken Biryani and Goat Vindaloo, my go to dish for rating Indian restaurants. We also ordered a Fried Sweet Potato Appetizer, Buttered Naan and Mango Lassis. Food tasted delicious and authentic. Good portions, Staff was attentive and accommodating, we packed and left our leftovers and picked it up after the show.”

A little way from Washington Square Park, you walk down a quiet side street and step into a quiet, refined shelter. The kitchen staff behind the reception dais move with practiced ease, which is always a fun show.

You'll be welcomed to large wooden tables that may not be redwood, but recall northern California.

The waiters are incredibly attentive and preempted what we wanted throughout the night.

The food itself was vibrant. Elevated California cuisine that uses seasonal herbs and vegetables from local gardens.

For our meal, we split the following:

Vadouvan Roll: I'm glad I ordered this over the sourdough, because it was revelatory. The rolls are soft, and moist on the inside and paired perfectly with the salad. It set expectations high for the night.

Tomato and plum salad: A highlight. Heirloom tomatoes dressed impeccably and contrasted by the plums. The leftover tomato and plum juice made for a fantastic scarpetta.

Tuna: Fantastic. Absolutely get some and the sauce they came served in was delicious.

Island creek oysters: Inventive, and unlike other oysters I've had.

Black cod: My favorite dish. It was moist, fluffy, and fatty. Paired incredibly well with the butternut sauce. The waiters brought us bread to mop up the sauce and leftover fish.

Corn Rice: Pairs perfectly with the black cod. There's a sour ingredient I couldn't figure out that was like a little pop of color in my mouth.

Wagyu NY Strip: A very well executed NY strip, but honestly, I would skip it in favor of the cod and squab.

Squab: A unique experience, and a delicious one. Did I feel a bit feral gnawing on a tiny baby dove leg? Yes. Would I do it again? Yes.

Waffle: Looked fantastic, tasted even better.

Liquorice ice cream: I adore liquorice, so this was a treat.

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for upscale dining.

Side note: as a lifelong sparkling water fan, I did appreciate the fact that the water wasn't wimpy.”

“Dining at Joo Ok in New York felt incredibly special to me as a Korean. I had visited Joo Ok in Korea several times with my parents, so I came with fond memories and high expectations. Somehow, the New York experience felt even more refined and memorable. The cuisine has evolved beautifully while preserving the traditional techniques, flavors, and soul of Korean cooking.

Every course was thoughtful, sophisticated, and deeply rooted in Korean culinary tradition. Even the desserts carried a sense of jeong, the warmth, generosity, and affection that are so uniquely Korean. I especially loved the beautiful tableware by Korean artist Myung Wook Huh. The vessels were works of art in themselves, and seeing the food presented alongside pieces by Korean artists made each course feel almost like an artwork of its own. There was a beautiful harmony between the food, the craftsmanship, and the space.

The interior was warm and intimate and made me feel as though I were back in Korea, while the New York city view outside created an almost dreamlike contrast. The service was gracious, polished, and genuinely warm.”
