“This is a hidden gem in the east village!! Loved every dish we got but my favorite was the Roti Nam Keang which is curry with fried roti, it was so so so yummy. And the server was amazing too. Highly recommend if you are looking for Thai food in this area.”
“Plue is a very vegan friendly restaurant with a lot of options and alternative sauces that make it inclusive if you don’t eat meat. Most main dishes have the option to be made with Mock Duck or Tofu or Soy chicken.
I recommend getting of the curries with Mock Duck and Pad Thai or See Ew with soy chicken. The service was good. For starters you can also try the coconut roti, beetroot dumpling or Avocado summer roll.
On the pricy side but worth it.”

“John Doe’s Bar in Flatiron is always a busy spot, and for good reason—especially with those $1 oysters that keep everyone coming back. The place gets packed, so expect a wait, especially if you want outdoor seating. I waited longer than I was initially told, but honestly it made sense given it was a Thursday happy hour and the crowd was there for the same deal I was.
That said, the staff was very good and attentive even with how hectic it was. Once seated, everything felt smooth and well handled. Solid vibe, great deal, and worth it if you’re patient. Also, clean bathroom, which is always a plus in a busy city spot.”

I’ve had the salmon and branzino, the oysters and calamari, salad, clam chowder, warm fresh bread, and vegetables. The staff is always friendly and full of advice about the menu. Ambiance is cozy and low key yet classy enough for a Saturday night out. Even their restaurant week menu is high quality and top value, in keeping with the rest of the offerings. Also have midweek paella specials! Neighborhood favorite that’s really popular for their summer outdoor cafe.”

“was able to snag a reservation easily on a wednesday night. It was exceptional contemporary take on Korean cuisine. perfectly fried monkfish and an incredibly crisp, flavorful fried soft-shell crab. A standout experiential highlight is the DIY scallop gimbap. For the mains, the duck bulgogi was our favorite: umami, savory, and sweet notes, all tied together with a deeply satisfying charred, smoky finish. The bread pudding that is wonderfully delicious without being overly sweet, followed by a gingery shaved ice that provides a sharp, refreshing palate cleanser”

“Loved every dish- fluke with black tea, mint and peach(who knew raw fish and fruit went so well together?), amazing grilled artichokes and grilled eggplant. Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. I had a plate with raw marinated tuna, raw salmon and raw scallops. The little heaps of fish were so pretty on the plate with their contrasting colors.”

I made a point to try some of their most popular dishes. The lobster ravioli was flavorful and well executed. The cheese appetizer was balanced and nicely presented, though I would probably pass on it next time. The star of the night was the spicy tuna appetizer, which really stood out in both flavor and texture. The decor is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere, and the service was friendly throughout the meal. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.”

“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.”

“My second time at Justine’s, and it continues to impress. I love their creative menu, which changes with the seasons and puts a real emphasis on fresh ingredients. This time I started with a lovely tamarind crudo before moving on to a wonderfully tender chicken served with morels and wilted ramps. Both dishes were excellent and really showcased what they do so well here. Service is always great, and I also appreciate their thoughtful wine program. They have a really nice selection of wines by the glass and are refreshingly generous with their pours. Just a really solid neighborhood restaurant that I’m always happy to return to.”

The prix fixe brunch menu was absolutely fantastic. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The real standout - the bloody marys. I'm not exaggerating when I say they were the best any of us have ever had. Whatever they're doing with their recipe, it's perfection. And they had ~5 to choose from.
What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service. One of our friends was running quite late, which we knew would impact their kitchen turnover, but the staff was incredibly gracious and accommodating about it. They made us feel welcome rather than rushed, which speaks volumes about their hospitality.

“This place absolutely lives up to the expectation when it comes to food, service, atmosphere, and the oodles of money you will pay for your meal. Quick tips are go early (because by 6:30/7 it will start to fill up) or during the week, order the burger (they only make 6 per DAY), and reserve a high top seat by the bar (just my preference but it made me feel like I was in a less stuffy/fancy shmancy restaurant).
Jk about this being a short review. Anyway I loved all of the appetizers we got to start and would order them again and again. The bread service had a cheddar biscuit that was unnecessarily good, herbed focaccia, and whipped butter and labneh as dips. I had to stop myself from going crazy on that alone. The tuna tartare with shiso, sesame, and seaweed was light, fresh, and the flavor didn’t overpower the tuna itself. Tuna grade was also a 10/10 and just melted in my mouth. The oven baked cherry stone clams with pickled pepper, garlic bread crust, snd spicy pepper butter was creamy was deeply flavorful and blended so well together. If any critique here, I would ask for the breadcrumbs to be toasted a bit longer but I’m just being annoying. Then their take on a Caesar, the little gems salad, with hazelnuts, an anchovy vinaigrette, and leeks was just surprising enough while still following the traditional Caesar taste… so exactly what I wanted to feel like I was doing something different.
As for our mains, the bone in filet mignon just melted. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned intentionally but sparingly so the meat really shined. The cappelletti with butternut squash, brown butter, candied pepitas, and toasted sage was such a cozy dish, it tasted how the Fall season feels! If I were to critique the dish, I wish it was served hot and not warm; that would’ve brought its level up to a 15 instead of 11 out of ten. And the star of the show… the bar burger! Of course it’s not on the menu and as I said above, they only make 6 burgers a day… so obviously I had to get it and was not disappointed in the slightest! Nothing fancy here: melted cheese (don’t ask what kind), medium rare burger, light tomatoes sauce (fancy ketchup) and a sourdough bun. Think that’s what haven tastes like? The burger was HUGE so I will be eating the other half for breakfast.
Had the most delicious cab that was sooo expensive… so I’ll never have it again but it was fruity and bold in all the right ways.”

“Not a big fan of the fish balls but will definitely be back for the rice noodles. Get them with mixed sauce: peanut, soy, hot, and oyster sauce. The owner is a vibe. There is a small area for dine in, with 4 chairs, but food comes in a plastic container that's easy to eat from elsewhere. They do take card but with a fee.”
“Standing room type of joint, waits can be up to an hour (which is not worth it, imo), but the pizza is very good and they know what they're doing. Soft serve gelato is also quite good, if a little over priced. A lot of competition around, but L'induatrie is up there among the better pizzas in NYC.”

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!”
“Holy cow! We just had the Restaurant Week Bento Box lunch from 232 Bleecker and it was just out of this world. Hands down the best meal we've had since the pandemic started. The way Chef Cupps teases the flavor out of vegetables and meats is just astounding. We are in heaven! We also ordered from 232 Bleecker on Christmas Eve, and the food was once again incredible. We are huge fans of Chef Cupps. She previously cooked at UnTitled at the Whitney which was our favorite restaurant in NYC. We are so glad that she and Nick and the rest of her beautiful staff are doing so well.”

You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! He brought us a candle and we got some great pictures. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.”

Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.”

“San Sabino in New York gets a solid 4 out of 5 from me. The food was tasty and fresh and compared to their sister restaurant is definitely more fish forward. I made a point to try some of their most popular dishes. The lobster ravioli was flavorful and well executed. The cheese appetizer was balanced and nicely presented, though I would probably pass on it next time. The star of the night was the spicy tuna appetizer, which really stood out in both flavor and texture. The decor is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere, and the service was friendly throughout the meal. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.”

The location is also great, it was easy for everyone to get to and for everyone to go home from (so close to Grand Central and the 6 train!) One of the best pints of Guinness I've had outside of Ireland, such a cozy atmosphere and incredible staff members. Classic Irish pub food, which everybody loved! The classics are classics for a reason, and they were very well done. I’ve also had dinner here on a regular night, and it’s just as good! Great pub fare, generous portions, and a really relaxed, friendly vibe. It’s not just a perfect event spot, it’s a great place for an everyday meal too. It’s a 15-course omakase, where the chefs curate each dish for you and every single bite was exceptional. Sitting at the counter and watching the chefs expertly prepare everything right in front of you made the experience feel so immersive and special. The pacing and flow between each course was seamless and the service was impressively fast without ever feeling rushed.
They also have some standout à la carte options (especially the Kissing roll with wagyu, toro, caviar and foie gras). Absolutely unforgettable. My personal favorite from the omakase was the O’Toro topped with caviar and a delicate dusting of gold, but honestly, every bite was memorable.
They only seat a small number of guests, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Such a beautiful dining experience from start to finish.”

Before Mama opened this welcoming restaurant, she had a place nearby called Thai Sliders where I first became acquainted with this spectacular flavor/texture miracle. I usually order fancier fare when I sit down at Lil Chef Mama but I love these sliders for takeout. And each sandwich is much bigger and more generous than most sliders,so instead of lasting for only one meal, the two I recently took home lasted me for two glorious feasts. “Having a meal ordered from Shah's in Inwood is like having Thanksgiving dinner with every order because the food is outstanding, consistent, fresh, and the service is excellent!! My son and I have been ordering from Shah's 2 - 3 times a week for the past 8 months because the restaurant never fails. My son orders the meat combo and I order either the falafel or fish platter. Both of us order everything: white, hot, and barbecue sauce; chick peas and black beans. In addition to the cukes and tomatoes, customers can also add olives and pickled red cabbage on their meal!! Tiebah and Thaliah are always welcoming, and always remember our names and our orders. We are never disappointed!!!”

“This was one of the most memorable meals I've had. All the staff were so smiley and welcoming. We each got a welcome drink and shimp snacks; small but packed with flavors. Then we were directed to our table which was prepared with an envelope with the menu inside. We were so excited and our expectations were through the roof!
The dishes did NOT disappoint! Oh my goodness their first course, the yellowtail, was so delicious! The combination of the Gochujang and buttery yellowtail really brought up our appetite. My personal favorite course was the lobster. The AROMA of this dish just made me salivate I secretly wanted to speed up with service so I could dive in! and it was so scrumptious indeed! The main dish, the steak, was actually a big surprise as well because the cookery of the meat was so good even though this place is not a steak house. One of our company is from Texas and he was very impressed.
I can talk about the food forever but what I have to mention was the service here. The staff were so warm, so welcoming, and very attentive to details. Every time someone left the table, the staff would come and refold our napkins. I also noticed that they would serve the food only when everyone was seated, and would clear the dishes when everyone finished. The pace of the courses was also great! 2+ hours went by so fast we thought it was just an hour. They also gave us a small bag with some memorabilia. It was such a wonderful meal for a celebration.
